[00:00:13] Speaker A: We have this robin at our house that has been absolutely trying to kill itself. Like, attacking the window. It's awful. It's so bad. This stupid robin. I. We're like, we don't want him to kill himself because that's really sad. But he keeps flying full force into the window because he thinks it's another robin and he's like my territory. And I don't know, man, I. I don't know what to do. We've tried duct tape. We've put like the, the shades down. And he just picks another window. [00:00:50] Speaker B: He's determined. [00:00:51] Speaker C: Oh, I don't. I don't know if there's any helping that at that point. Actually, if you just get a BB. [00:00:59] Speaker A: Gun and like you ghost a different. [00:01:03] Speaker C: Window, I see you trying to help. [00:01:07] Speaker B: Me out and I will not take that at all. [00:01:11] Speaker C: That's such like. I don't know. I was gonna say that's such toddler behavior, but I'm like, no, that's more like a. That's more like a teenager thing. [00:01:22] Speaker A: We think it's like an adolescent male bird. Like he just looks awkward on top of it, like in the middle growth stage. [00:01:32] Speaker C: Not him being awkward on top of it. This poor bird, he's too stupid for his own good. Also. [00:01:41] Speaker D: Ouch. [00:01:41] Speaker C: I forgot. [00:01:43] Speaker A: He's scratching. Scratching the window. Like there are scratches on the window. [00:01:49] Speaker B: He's gonna blast that. [00:01:50] Speaker A: Are just gonna live there now because you know how expensive expensive it is to replace windows? [00:01:55] Speaker B: Luckily, no. I think you should give him a stupid sounding name. [00:02:01] Speaker C: Maybe you should get. Maybe you should get some of those, like, privacy window clings. We have them on some of the doors where I work because we haven't tried those yet. But there's like ones that you can get that are pretty see through still. So you like, you can see out, but it makes like pretty little rainbows. [00:02:18] Speaker E: On the inside of your house. [00:02:20] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:02:20] Speaker E: So that's good. [00:02:22] Speaker A: It might be worth. [00:02:23] Speaker C: We have an entire door covered with that shit because it faces the street. So I guess it's a privacy measure. But it's wonderful. [00:02:36] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:02:37] Speaker C: Now that it's spring. [00:02:40] Speaker A: I. I'm now trying to think of stupid bird knives. [00:02:45] Speaker C: Bird. [00:02:46] Speaker F: What about. What about. I think naming a bird Nicholas is really funny name. You can name it Yarin. [00:02:54] Speaker A: Hey, it is Yaren Behavior. [00:02:57] Speaker F: Speaking of Yaren. Hi. [00:02:59] Speaker C: Welcome to Spell Sprouts. My poor weird little sprout shower. [00:03:04] Speaker F: That's my guy. A DND5E podcast where most of the NPCs are using. [00:03:11] Speaker A: That's my guy. [00:03:12] Speaker C: I love how much we bully Yaren. I feel so bad, but it's. It hasn't stopped being funny. So just sorry. Not sorry. Yarin. [00:03:22] Speaker A: He's real stupid. [00:03:24] Speaker C: One day I'll turn you into a bomb, even though I never actually took that spell. [00:03:32] Speaker A: You've never asked him to turn into a bomb? [00:03:34] Speaker B: Maybe he'll volunteer himself. [00:03:36] Speaker E: I don't think. [00:03:36] Speaker B: I don't think for the cause, but. [00:03:38] Speaker C: It wouldn't be as funny if he voluntarily did it. [00:03:41] Speaker F: It's okay. [00:03:42] Speaker A: Listen. The goddess of green magic decided that. That he did not need that much intelligence. [00:03:49] Speaker C: Maybe she should have thought twice about that little bit. [00:03:52] Speaker F: I have plans for Yarn to redeem himself. Don't you fret. [00:03:57] Speaker A: Whoa. [00:03:58] Speaker C: I love you. [00:03:59] Speaker A: He's my guy. [00:04:00] Speaker F: Oh, yeah, I know. [00:04:01] Speaker B: Is Myla gonna turn him into ID's new heart? [00:04:04] Speaker F: No. But I do. We'll get into it later. I have an idea. [00:04:11] Speaker A: All right. Last time the group finished demolishing some. Some okay. Ish made golems. They ventured into the cavern looking for signs of life and find Alexia, who seems hesitant and nervous, but eventually invites them all to sit down and talk. That's where we left off. And that's right where we're picking up. So she kind of motions to the lake. Multiple floor pillows that she's got. [00:04:41] Speaker C: Unrelated, I want you to know that the last two notes I have from last session have nothing to do with the actual conversation we had other than I just wrote, oh, she's just kind of pathetic. And then I wrote, ID doesn't like beanbag chairs. Too soft. And that's all I wrote from that whole conversation. [00:04:58] Speaker A: I will let you know. I got a message from someone who listens to this podcast, and they said they loved this character. So far, they have not heard last episode. But the idea of the character. [00:05:11] Speaker C: Oh, Alexia. Yeah, she's a great concept. Just. I think she's hilarious. But, like, I was just like, oh, I don't like this lady. I don't trust her. And then the more she talks, the more I was just like, oh. Oh. Actually, she's just kind of sad. Wait. [00:05:27] Speaker A: Fuck. It's true. It's true. So she sits down and kind of is waiting for others to ask her questions, as that seems to be the way this conversation is going. [00:05:42] Speaker B: Auden will flop down in a beanbag. [00:05:46] Speaker C: Just. [00:05:47] Speaker A: Will she flip? Flop down? [00:05:50] Speaker B: Yes. [00:05:51] Speaker A: Okay, that's perfect. [00:05:54] Speaker C: She does a little flip and then a flop. [00:05:56] Speaker B: Exactly. [00:05:57] Speaker C: Auden fully just front flips onto this beanbag. [00:06:01] Speaker B: Auden is the kind of person that's like, yeah, I mean, if I just think about it hard enough, I totally could do a flip and then does a flip and then, like, explodes or, like. Have you seen the video of the guy? Sorry, totally unrelated. He's this, like, twitch streamer, and he just tries to do a flip out of the blue, and he slams into his desk. [00:06:19] Speaker C: I've seen this. [00:06:20] Speaker B: You know what I'm talking about? [00:06:22] Speaker A: So crazy. [00:06:24] Speaker C: Oh, it's so sad, but it's so funny. [00:06:26] Speaker B: It's so autumn core. [00:06:29] Speaker C: Here's the thing. Auden is very strong, though, and very athletic. I think Auden actually could do it. [00:06:36] Speaker B: Can I roll an athletics check to see if Auden can flip into the bean bag, please? [00:06:41] Speaker A: Sure. Yeah, yeah. [00:06:42] Speaker C: Can I. Wait, Do I have fighter damage? I don't. Damn it. [00:06:46] Speaker B: It's okay. I have a plus eight to athletics. [00:06:50] Speaker A: If you rage for six seconds, you could have advantage. [00:06:54] Speaker C: Jay, quick, give her. [00:06:56] Speaker B: Can I retcon? Can I, like, Odin looks at the bean bag. She, like, takes a deep breath and goes into her flow state. I am gonna roll. [00:07:04] Speaker C: Oh, my God. [00:07:06] Speaker B: Okay. It didn't matter because the first one was a dirty 20, and the second one was a natural one, so it didn't matter. [00:07:12] Speaker A: Dirty 20. Yeah, you. It starts off like a cartwheel, and then ends like a. Like a handspring. Yeah. And then you go the. The. Like, 90 degrees further to get on your back into this beanbag chair. [00:07:28] Speaker C: All of us standing there like, auden, what are you doing? [00:07:32] Speaker B: There's kind of this, like, whomp. As she likes, you know, for sure. And she just kind of looks at you. I just wanted to see if I could do that. I can. [00:07:44] Speaker A: I mean, it looked kind of fun, honestly. [00:07:47] Speaker B: Do you want to try? I'll spot you. [00:07:49] Speaker C: I would love to see her try. [00:07:53] Speaker A: No, I'm good. [00:07:56] Speaker B: Sorry. Questions we have. [00:08:00] Speaker A: Is everyone else sitting? [00:08:02] Speaker D: Yep. [00:08:03] Speaker C: Melon kind of perches on her bean bag after watching Auden flop onto hers, and it just sank. [00:08:10] Speaker F: Myla's standing. [00:08:15] Speaker A: I just wanted to know that for my own, like, knowledge of the conversation. [00:08:20] Speaker C: There you go, audience. There you go. You got. You got the. You got the picture. [00:08:26] Speaker A: Intimidating. [00:08:30] Speaker C: She is just a lady with fiery hair. So, you know, if that wasn't scary. [00:08:37] Speaker F: Enough, she's not standing in the center of the room. She's, like, kind of in, like, a back corner, like. [00:08:45] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:08:48] Speaker B: If I may, why did you try to go to hell? It seems like a place that I would not want to go personally, and I would like to understand. [00:09:07] Speaker A: They have a lot of untapped power. They have a Different magic source than we do. And people here don't even use it, see it, comprehend it. And it seemed like a good thing to. It was something I wanted. Really chaotic, and chaotic magic is typically more powerful. Um, so, you know, just kind of wanted to see what I could get from there, I guess. [00:09:49] Speaker B: Easiest place to access, but it didn't go well. And you tend. She kind of makes little horns out. [00:09:59] Speaker E: Of her head, and now she's all embarrassed. And now she's here. [00:10:07] Speaker F: Yeah. [00:10:10] Speaker A: They. They just wanted to be. I don't know. I get caught. Stupid mistake. But they decided that death was not fun enough for them, so instead, they turned me to a hell creature so that I would live in exclusion. [00:10:46] Speaker E: Oh, no. Because being a Tiefling is, like, the worst thing ever. [00:10:51] Speaker A: It's not as bad now. It used to be pretty bad. [00:11:01] Speaker B: Is it? Like, I know that Mellie's got some stuff that she can do because of who she is. Did you end up getting, like, magic as a result of that? You know, they didn't kill you. That's great. You still have time to learn and to try new magic. And, like, Mellie can do stuff because she's a Tiefling, and that is probably the case with you, too. Like, isn't that just another opportunity to learn and to do more stuff? [00:11:38] Speaker A: I. I'm not incredibly optimistic. I've been around for 800 years. [00:11:46] Speaker F: Wow. [00:11:48] Speaker B: You look great, by the way. For that. [00:11:53] Speaker A: Thanks, I guess. What else do you want to know? [00:11:58] Speaker F: So can you, Like. So you're, like, immortal, then? [00:12:04] Speaker A: Kind of. [00:12:05] Speaker F: So are you, like, a God? [00:12:07] Speaker A: No, we're kind of like an in between step. [00:12:10] Speaker F: Like a demigod. [00:12:12] Speaker D: We? [00:12:14] Speaker A: Yeah. Arcanis. [00:12:18] Speaker D: Oh, okay. [00:12:21] Speaker A: That wasn't something they could take away from me. They can try to prohibit me from doing magic of my own, and they're pretty good at doing that. But they couldn't take away the stuff I already got. [00:12:41] Speaker F: Who's they again? [00:12:42] Speaker A: The. The Assembly. [00:12:45] Speaker F: Oh, yes. Okay, we went over this. [00:12:47] Speaker A: Sorry, I forgot about that. [00:12:49] Speaker F: I usually don't forget very many things. [00:12:51] Speaker A: But all the other Arcanists. There's not that many, but. Yeah. [00:12:58] Speaker F: How do you become an Arcanist? Like, what qualifications do you need? [00:13:07] Speaker A: Typically, time is good to, you know, spend time learning. It's really. It's really a sort of. I don't know. It's kind of like what Erendrill's doing, but most people go about it in a better way. [00:13:29] Speaker F: Okay. I was about to say, because he's trying to make that for himself, but other people Determine arcanist? Or do you just, like, call yourself an arcanist and then you become immortal? Like, who gives the title? Is there a vote? [00:13:43] Speaker A: Typically by the assembly, yeah. They will give you other research that exists only to them. And that makes you an Arcanist, I guess. [00:13:56] Speaker F: Gotcha. [00:13:57] Speaker A: There are other very powerful people out there, but. [00:14:01] Speaker F: Yeah. Where are they? [00:14:04] Speaker A: I don't know. [00:14:05] Speaker B: We know where one of them is. [00:14:08] Speaker A: Great. [00:14:09] Speaker B: Amali, do you know them? [00:14:10] Speaker A: Yeah, I do. [00:14:11] Speaker B: Grace. Are you saying we know two? [00:14:14] Speaker A: They actually tried to help me. [00:14:16] Speaker C: The one from the. The one that helped us with that weird spell for Nadia. [00:14:21] Speaker B: Oh. Joy was also an Arcanist. God, she had that title, too. I'm just like, the principal. Yeah. Okay, great. [00:14:30] Speaker C: To be fair, we were referring to her as the principal. Until we learned her name. We did not know she was an Arcanist. [00:14:37] Speaker B: Sorry. Carry on. Actually, we know two of them. Her name is Joy. She's very nice. [00:14:46] Speaker A: Yeah, she's kind of newer, I think. I don't really know her. [00:14:52] Speaker C: Makes sense. [00:14:53] Speaker A: Anyway, it's a process. Part of their sort of initiation research. Magic is that you get to connect with the prism and live pretty much forever. Although it's not immortal. But it's a very, very, very, very long time. So, so far, no one has died. [00:15:18] Speaker D: What does connect with the prison mean? [00:15:22] Speaker A: That was what we used to call it. Is that not what you call it? [00:15:26] Speaker D: I just don't. Is it a thing? [00:15:29] Speaker A: Yeah. The. The main source of magic Is this. [00:15:34] Speaker F: Something I've heard of. [00:15:35] Speaker A: She's probably referring to what happened during Arcanist Willow's Spell, where you kind of saw the single. The single point of, like, combined light and then it, like, split. [00:15:48] Speaker C: Oh. [00:15:52] Speaker A: It seems like she used to call it the prism, but your best guess is that it's a very, like, old term for the thing. [00:16:00] Speaker F: Oh. [00:16:02] Speaker A: And it's not used anymore because people just stopped focusing on it. [00:16:06] Speaker F: Oh. That's what it was. That's weird. That's cool. [00:16:10] Speaker A: They don't teach you about it? [00:16:13] Speaker F: I mean, not typically. It's a little. I don't know. I guess. I don't know why they wouldn't teach. Didn't you build this place? [00:16:25] Speaker A: Like, no wonder there's. [00:16:27] Speaker F: That doesn't seem like an Arcanist. Yeah. So where is this prism? [00:16:32] Speaker A: Everywhere. Nowhere. Somewhere. Wherever you need it to be. [00:16:38] Speaker F: Okay, so then where. How do you connect to it? [00:16:40] Speaker A: Can you do a. A spell? [00:16:44] Speaker F: Can. Can. Can. Can I. Can I do a spell? Yeah, I can do a spell. [00:16:51] Speaker A: Yeah. Show me. [00:16:56] Speaker F: What do I want to Cast. [00:16:59] Speaker A: She is not saying this in a doubting way. She just wants. [00:17:02] Speaker E: Can you. [00:17:05] Speaker B: Yeah, right. [00:17:08] Speaker F: I am going to cast. I am going to cast fairy fire centered on her. [00:17:15] Speaker A: Okay. Tr. Like, doesn't care what spell you're casting. [00:17:22] Speaker F: She. [00:17:22] Speaker A: She just, like, is watching. So she doesn't even, really, like, react to this glowing light around her. She just watches how you're casting this spell. And she says, yeah, it's kind of like that, but. But, like, more. You really have. A lot of times, if you want to actually get to the source, you have to be able to cast spells of all types. [00:17:54] Speaker F: Okay. [00:17:55] Speaker A: I guess all the colors now that everyone's picked. [00:17:59] Speaker F: Okay. I mean, I don't see why I wouldn't be able to do that. I mean, I kind of do. That's kind of how magic works. [00:18:10] Speaker A: So I definitely have a spell of every type. [00:18:15] Speaker F: I mean, I could probably find some. [00:18:19] Speaker A: If I thought, okay, well, that doesn't mean you can do it right now. [00:18:23] Speaker F: So you have to be able to cast a spell of every type to be at. But you don't. You cast one spell at a time. [00:18:30] Speaker A: This is the only time that a slight, like, a little bit of insight shows that she is. She kind of. She gives, like, a very, very slight, like, you don't know anything kind of look, but it's very quick. She just. Right. Magic is different. It's a lot. It took me hundreds of years to figure out you can cast more than one spell at a time, but it takes a specific learning period, and you look pretty young. You just probably haven't had the time. [00:19:24] Speaker F: So let me get this straight. You need to connect to the prism to have hundreds of years to explore this. But in order to connect to the prism, you need to be able to cast spells of every type. But, I mean, anyone can really have time. Yeah. So you need to have time, but you can't. You don't have time to do that for hundreds of years if you're not connected to the prism. Right. Because that's what makes you immortal. [00:20:03] Speaker A: It depends. It depends on the kind of person you are. Elves live longer. [00:20:10] Speaker B: I'm seems kind of skewed. [00:20:12] Speaker F: Oh, were you an elf before you were a Tiefling then? [00:20:15] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:20:17] Speaker F: Oh, okay. That makes sense. Well, kind of. It makes sense. So how does. How did Melon get her powers then? [00:20:27] Speaker A: You know, it's really complex to me. I have no idea. As far as I know, no other arcanist has had a kid. And if they have, it's been not reported or secretive. So I don't know. My best guess is it's residual connection from me. [00:20:51] Speaker B: So you're like the prism's grandbaby, Melwyn. [00:20:57] Speaker A: What a way of putting that. [00:21:00] Speaker B: Are you gonna live forever, Ben? [00:21:02] Speaker E: I don't think I want to, yeah. [00:21:04] Speaker A: And I have no idea if she will or not. Unknown. [00:21:07] Speaker F: Well, I mean, she. Well, I mean, she's been aging. Like the right. Not the right. I don't want to say the right way, quote, you know, quote unquote, but like for a tiefling. [00:21:20] Speaker E: I mean elves. Until they don't for a while. [00:21:25] Speaker A: That's true, yeah. It's a similar process where they age normally and then seem to kind of stop or slow. Intensely. I assume my lifeline is linked to the prism. And however long the prism exists, that's my best guess. Unless I die by other means, which is very possible. I'm not immune to damage or mortal ways of dying. [00:21:52] Speaker C: I had to bite my tongue for a second because I deadass was just. [00:21:55] Speaker E: Like, oh, so if I asked Id. [00:21:57] Speaker C: To drive his warpick through your heart right now would like. It would work. Cool. [00:22:03] Speaker F: I. I'm just so conf. I'm confused. Like, if this is something that has existed, then why. I mean, you built the school. Why aren't people learning about this? Why aren't people being. [00:22:21] Speaker A: I didn't build the school. I designed school that was very different. [00:22:28] Speaker B: I mean, it makes sense. If you don't tell other people about it, then other people can't be a competition for it. Not that it's like a limited slot kind of thing that I understand, but I mean, it's a huge amount of power. And one thing I know about people is people like to have power for themselves and not have other people with it too. I mean, look at Erendril. He's looking for a lot of it. And the fewer people that know about the prism or whatever the hell magic, you know, that kind of stuff. It would make sense that the fewer people that know about it, the fewer people try to get it. And the fewer people will stand in your way, right? [00:23:15] Speaker A: She looks mildly impressed. [00:23:18] Speaker F: I just don't understand how if these magics are known and are out there, how Erendrill could have gotten so far and the Institute could have gone so long doing what they were doing. [00:23:35] Speaker D: You think that people would have stopped them? [00:23:38] Speaker F: I think that if you give it to the right people, I would have. [00:23:41] Speaker E: Myla, look at. We are hidden away in the mountains right now. I feel like secrets is kind of part of the whole thing here. [00:23:53] Speaker F: Why though? [00:23:55] Speaker E: I Think we all get that. [00:23:56] Speaker F: It's part of the whole thing. But why? [00:23:58] Speaker E: Maybe the people that built the actual school are just as selfish as the designer was. [00:24:03] Speaker D: Maybe they didn't know either. [00:24:05] Speaker E: It's entirely possible. Why are you hiding? I know it's because you're embarrassed, but. What? You're embarrassed you got turned into a Tiefling. You got embarrassed because your powers got taken away. You could teach. Pass it along. You could help the people that are trying to fix what your creations have caused. [00:24:26] Speaker A: Yeah, I'm not a good. I'm not a good person. I don't. [00:24:29] Speaker B: But you could choose to be. I don't think people are a lot. [00:24:32] Speaker A: Of it anymore, which makes it really hard. It makes it hard to teach. I can't. When I can't do it or show. [00:24:42] Speaker F: No, it's not that you can't. It's that you won't. You won't. [00:24:46] Speaker A: I can't. [00:24:47] Speaker F: You won't try. No. I'm not talking about the magic. [00:24:50] Speaker A: Okay. What do you want me to say? Yet you're right. Pretty much every life I interacted with after my poor decisions has turned out poorly. Which is why Melwyn was put somewhere away from me. [00:25:11] Speaker E: Was it that? Or were you just that embarrassed? [00:25:14] Speaker A: I don't know. Embarrassment is kind of a moot point. After a long time, it seemed like everything I tried was not going well for anyone. [00:25:25] Speaker E: Then why bother making me at all? [00:25:27] Speaker A: I didn't. [00:25:29] Speaker E: You can't even look me in the eye. You won't teach. You won't stick around long enough to give anybody any kind of semblance of an answer. [00:25:39] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:25:40] Speaker E: Was I part of it? Were you embarrassed when you had me? [00:25:45] Speaker A: No, I. [00:25:46] Speaker E: Then what was the point? [00:25:47] Speaker A: I wanted of. Of having you? [00:25:50] Speaker E: Yeah. You didn't want to pass anything along. You didn't want to bother teaching the next generation. You designed a school. You didn't bother to see that through. [00:26:00] Speaker A: Well, in all honesty, I. In the risk of sounding. Sounding not the way I want to. You were. Not on purpose. But at that point, I really wanted somebody who wasn't gonna hate me just because. [00:26:30] Speaker F: How'd that work? [00:26:31] Speaker A: But then I made the choice to leave you somewhere where I thought you would be safer and not burdened with my choices. You might hate it, and that's fine. I expected nothing less. But it was the choice I made. [00:26:49] Speaker E: Yeah, well, that. That choice didn't work out too great either. [00:26:53] Speaker A: I'm sorry to hear that. They seem like nice people. [00:26:57] Speaker E: I'm not talking about them. [00:26:59] Speaker A: Hey, I don't what else you want from me? [00:27:01] Speaker E: You've been watching. Do you even know what happened? Your choice led me to them. But before that, something else found me first. And because of it, these wonderful people got hurt. [00:27:15] Speaker A: Well, I'm. I'm really sorry to hear that. That was obviously not my hope. Yeah. [00:27:20] Speaker D: Sorry. How can you blame that on her? [00:27:22] Speaker C: Melon just holds up the chess piece. [00:27:26] Speaker E: I don't know. [00:27:27] Speaker D: I don't see how most of this is her fault or the cause of her. [00:27:33] Speaker B: I mean, being there would have been. [00:27:35] Speaker D: A start, but she can't do shit. [00:27:39] Speaker F: Very true. [00:27:41] Speaker D: So, what's the. I don't get it. If we're doing just fine despite her, why are we blaming her? The other Arcanists who can actually do something aren't doing shit either. [00:27:55] Speaker E: That's true. [00:27:55] Speaker F: Yeah. [00:27:57] Speaker D: So why are we throwing the blame at her? They ostracized her. She's not the problem. Erendrill is. [00:28:04] Speaker E: You're right. I don't think I hate you. I think I just wanted to be mad. [00:28:10] Speaker A: Yeah, that makes sense. [00:28:12] Speaker E: You're sad enough that it's kind of hard to hate you. [00:28:15] Speaker A: Actually, I'm sorry things happened the way they did. If I could change things, I would. I still don't think I made the absolute wrong choice. But there were better choices. [00:28:31] Speaker E: You could make better choices going forward. [00:28:34] Speaker A: Sure. [00:28:37] Speaker E: You know, one thing about people that work with magic. They tend to be very imaginative and very good at visualizing things. I've watched Myla work enough to know that much. I've watched my dad's work enough to know that much. So you can teach? And people will learn. You just have to bother to try? [00:29:03] Speaker A: Sure. [00:29:04] Speaker D: What Arendruel's doing. Is killing him the best way to stop it? [00:29:10] Speaker A: I mean, yeah, he's not immune to regular mortal ways of dying like the rest of us, but he also. He's also connected to the prism, so he also will live a very long time unless stopped. [00:29:29] Speaker B: Is he considered an Arcanist? [00:29:31] Speaker A: No. He thought the ways they had were unproductive for his goals, which I suppose is true. [00:29:44] Speaker B: We're gonna go kill him. So if you have any advice or anything. Long shot, but I don't know. In 800 years, you must have seen some stuff. [00:30:05] Speaker A: Well, it might help you to know why. Why he does the things he does. In case you choose to go a more passive route. Unlikely, but technically possible. [00:30:20] Speaker B: You know why he's doing all of that? [00:30:23] Speaker A: I have a really good guess. I know that his parents were some of the first to control magic on this plane. In general, it was unknown and difficult and. But as his parents were intense, magic focused people, he became the same. Until one day he caused some kind of accident. I don't know what. Some kind of accident that killed both his parents. I think he was pretty young, old enough to know what he did. So from what I know, he started looking for ways to bring them back. And after enough time and dedication and furiousness to a goal like that, it can be twisted. I think what he's. The prism kind of reflects you. So whatever you decide that you want, the prism tends to want as well. Until it's this desire for whatever you wanted kind of overtakes you, the mortal person. And these dedications and desires become sort of arcanely influenced and aggressive. Like the worst addiction you've ever seen. So while I don't think he's a good person or would change what he's doing, there is a lot of him that doesn't. That can't change what he's doing. So it's possible if you remove all presence of the prism in him, that either A, he will die because he's old enough already, or B, he will at least retract what he wants enough to maybe consciously think about it and potentially make a different choice. But there's no guarantee of that. [00:32:58] Speaker B: Would that end the effect on his little things? His little dudes? Minions. [00:33:06] Speaker A: Sorry, what about them? [00:33:07] Speaker B: Would that end if we were to sever his connection? [00:33:12] Speaker A: Probably. Probably. I haven't investigated one of them, but it makes sense to me. [00:33:20] Speaker F: Can you help show us that connection? I know you can't do magic, but explain it something. If we can find the connection. [00:33:31] Speaker A: I can try. [00:33:32] Speaker F: If we know how it happens, maybe we can. [00:33:35] Speaker B: Melan has spelled for it. [00:33:38] Speaker E: Well, it has to be similar to what we did to help Nadia, wouldn't it? [00:33:42] Speaker A: She doesn't know what you did to help Nadia, so. [00:33:45] Speaker C: Yeah, but the group does. [00:33:47] Speaker B: You've written it out on like 70 different papers. Do you have those with you? [00:33:54] Speaker E: Oh, yeah, I did. [00:33:55] Speaker F: Also going to start drawing diagrams on papers from what she saw with her keen mind. [00:34:04] Speaker G: Just little like blueprints. [00:34:05] Speaker C: Melon copied the entire sigil. She just doesn't know how to use it necessarily. So, I mean, yeah, I can show her. [00:34:14] Speaker A: You show her the like sigils. I think she wants to see it all entirely put together. Either like taping all the papers together, not taping, but, you know, like putting papers next to each other or just like drawing it out. Yeah. Again. [00:34:33] Speaker E: The only thing that I know how to do because we were very pressed for time and still are. [00:34:40] Speaker A: Is. [00:34:42] Speaker E: Being able to make these. And she points to the conduits. So I know how to do that now. But in terms of actually using this spell, it's not something I quite know how to do yet. I was told it would take too long to learn. [00:34:58] Speaker A: Yeah, I mean, it depends on how fast you want to move. Those are a good start. Magic is always easier if others are contributing as well. So if. Yeah, if all of you try, you might. Might be able to do something. My guess is like a month. [00:35:20] Speaker C: I'm not sure we have that kind of time, but. [00:35:24] Speaker B: Sorry, how long? [00:35:26] Speaker C: A month. She said. [00:35:30] Speaker A: You could. I will. Mechanically, you could exist. Exhaust yourselves in order to try to do it faster. But it means that the recovery time is going to take away some of your, like, long rests to exhaust yourselves. So you could have like, half of the nights as well if you wanted. But that's true, obviously, like, makes checks harder and stuff. So it's. Or if someone's constantly casting haste on somebody else all day, you know, that might help. Or like, you know, whatever. Whatever you guys can think of. [00:36:07] Speaker E: If you want to reduce the time, there's that. And then. [00:36:13] Speaker C: Then we'll kind of like sideways glance at id. Sorry, I really need to sneeze. Oh, no. [00:36:22] Speaker A: Time out. [00:36:23] Speaker G: You're good. [00:36:25] Speaker F: Wait, wait. [00:36:26] Speaker E: You understand basket wiring? You kind of made it and then definitely, probably most certainly worked with it before you just kind of decided to hide yourself here. Right, Right. [00:36:40] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:36:41] Speaker E: There might be something you can help us with or at least take a look at maybe. [00:36:47] Speaker A: Yeah, she's kind. She tries to kind of write it off. Like, you think I haven't thought of that before? And then also she's a little bit, like, thinking through the possibilities simultaneously. [00:37:00] Speaker E: Just like id. Do you mind or what? [00:37:06] Speaker D: You want me to. What do you want me to do here? [00:37:09] Speaker E: The you. The thing. [00:37:14] Speaker C: Words. [00:37:15] Speaker E: We're trying to find a solution to fix something that is almost certainly rigged to explode. And you understand boss guide wiring pretty well. Myla and I have been taking a look at it, but you might have some insights on how we can do certain things without also making it explode. Maybe. [00:37:38] Speaker A: Are you asking Alexia to help with the part? [00:37:41] Speaker C: Asking Alexia to take a look. [00:37:44] Speaker A: Okay. Sorry, I thought it was. The question was directed at id. [00:37:47] Speaker C: No, I mean, it was id. Do you mind if she takes a look? Because we have a chest piece and. [00:37:54] Speaker D: Just like, pulls down his shirt because. [00:37:57] Speaker C: We have to open him up to do this. [00:38:00] Speaker A: Okay, put. She just, like, has to kind of Put it back together. Okay. Like, okay, yeah. It doesn't have to be right this moment. [00:38:13] Speaker C: I mean, he was halfway there already. Like. [00:38:21] Speaker A: She at least wants to, like, set up a table and it's, like, something for him to lay on and a bunch of, like, tools and things. [00:38:30] Speaker E: This is so far from the worst place we've ever done open heart surgery. [00:38:36] Speaker F: If we're gonna be working on this, its heart is going to stop. I would like to make that very clear. [00:38:42] Speaker C: What spells do I have right now? [00:38:44] Speaker E: I mean, that is why we have. I still have the last guy. We spent some money to get stuff to help revive him. If you give me just a little bit of time, I could recover some more medical spells that might be helpful. [00:39:01] Speaker F: I just don't. I. She turns to Alexia. No offense. I understand you work a lot with Boss guide wiring. But I won't let people look at my best friend's heart while it's stopped. When I've just met you and you don't have any magic to fix things if you fuck it up. [00:39:16] Speaker A: Oh, I. I wasn't gonna stop. I wasn't gonna stop it. I was just asked to look at it. [00:39:22] Speaker F: No, but if you open it and you look at it and do anything with it, it will stop. [00:39:26] Speaker E: Okay, that is a very. That's a very good point. [00:39:31] Speaker F: And we're not, like, we don't have a backup plan if that's the case. I know we have a resource for reviving id, but I think that we should save that until we're ready to, like, work on, like, fully work on things. Right. Like, there's a lot riding on this and to just be like, okay, sure. [00:39:52] Speaker A: Like, I didn't. I didn't know. [00:39:54] Speaker F: I know you didn't know. No, that's. I'm not blaming you or anything. I'm just saying there's a lot of going on around it. It's complicated. [00:40:03] Speaker A: Sounds like you all have stuff to talk about and places to be. [00:40:07] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:40:08] Speaker D: Can we offload that fancy spell work to other people? [00:40:12] Speaker A: You're not gonna have much success with it. [00:40:15] Speaker B: What if we collaborate? [00:40:16] Speaker F: Just. What if we. Just a few days. Not a whole month or anything, just a few days to figure things out, exchange information. Right? Learn how these things work, that these new magic things work, that we have all just learned about. I can work on building. I've been. She'll look towards it. I've been coming up with some plans on how to make a cardiopulmonary bypass machine. [00:40:43] Speaker D: Okay. I don't know what that is. [00:40:46] Speaker F: It means that it will pump your heart and make sure you can breathe while we're working on your heart. [00:40:53] Speaker D: Oh, fun. So I get to feel it all. That's great. [00:40:59] Speaker B: Well, could knock you out. [00:41:02] Speaker E: We don't really have anything to put him under. Actually, that's a good point. [00:41:06] Speaker B: Auden's eyes dart over to her hammer and then quickly right back. [00:41:09] Speaker D: I need my skull. [00:41:13] Speaker B: What are you implying? I just. We could find something. I don't know. [00:41:18] Speaker C: Where is it? Where is it? There we are. [00:41:23] Speaker B: Wait. [00:41:23] Speaker C: And Craig has that bonk. Incredible. Anyway. [00:41:32] Speaker F: I have some ideas. I have some mock ups. I think so. Because I actually have a little bit of an idea for it. Just. Just a little bit of an idea for it. Just. Just a kind a lot. I have multiple pages of ideas for it. [00:41:49] Speaker D: Great. I don't care the number of pages. [00:41:51] Speaker F: What? [00:41:52] Speaker D: Honestly, I'd feel better if it was like one succinct page. [00:41:57] Speaker E: I think it just cares if it works. [00:41:59] Speaker D: Yeah. Also, is it gonna get rid of my magic? [00:42:04] Speaker F: No, that's the thing is that we would essentially be looking at what is creating the bomb and taking the bomb pieces out, but leaving the rest of you there. [00:42:12] Speaker D: Okay. [00:42:13] Speaker F: Is the idea. In theory. [00:42:15] Speaker D: Great. Let's do that. [00:42:18] Speaker F: Because then we can use the bomb on what you. Erendrill. [00:42:24] Speaker D: I'm planning on killing him myself. [00:42:26] Speaker F: Oh. Like, no. But. But yes. You can have the final blow. But like will take a big portion of him out. Like maybe. Like if it was on a scale of like 0 to 100. Maybe like. Like 40. [00:42:39] Speaker D: Okay. [00:42:40] Speaker C: Okay. [00:42:41] Speaker D: And we're dropping that. [00:42:42] Speaker A: I hope you get the bomb and it kills Arend. Because that would be so funny. [00:42:48] Speaker D: We just get to the final fight and on stage is like. You drop the bomb on him. Cool. Roll 50. 100. [00:42:56] Speaker A: Oh, God. [00:42:58] Speaker F: Melbourne Mellon. Spare the dying. [00:43:02] Speaker C: It's an action. Quicken spells not saving that. [00:43:11] Speaker F: So I would like to spend a few days talking with Lexia. [00:43:17] Speaker D: Okay. Lexi, you want to get on a boat? It flies. [00:43:25] Speaker A: We aren't talking here. [00:43:29] Speaker D: We can travel and talk. Can we? [00:43:32] Speaker F: Also, we just killed your security, so you need new security. [00:43:36] Speaker E: You know, it's gotta. It and Milo have a really good point. And remember the whole thing that we just said about making better choices. Here's a good place to start. [00:43:45] Speaker F: Ooh. [00:43:51] Speaker B: Up to no one. [00:43:52] Speaker F: Yes. [00:43:53] Speaker A: No. [00:43:54] Speaker F: Have you been flying before? [00:43:56] Speaker A: I don't want to go on a flying boat. [00:43:59] Speaker C: What spells do I have? [00:44:00] Speaker B: Okay, well, you can come of your own volition or I will carry you there. [00:44:06] Speaker A: Okay. Well, this has become very threatening. Why? [00:44:10] Speaker F: It's not threatening. [00:44:11] Speaker B: We're trying to save the world. I don't know what you want. Like, do you want us to just. [00:44:15] Speaker F: La la, la, thanks for nothing? [00:44:17] Speaker B: Like, that's not how any of this is supposed to go down. We're supposed to get help from people, and you've given us nothing. And we're trying to be patient. And I get that you've been embarrassed, and I get that hard things have happened to you, but hard things have happened to all of us. Damn it. [00:44:30] Speaker A: Yeah. Come back in 800 years and tell me again. [00:44:32] Speaker B: Oh, boo hoo. Wah, wah, wah. Arden scoops up her hammer and she's gonna start slap, slap, slap, slap, slap. [00:44:39] Speaker C: I was about to ask you to grab her, but. Okay, bye. [00:44:43] Speaker F: I do still have fairy fire concentrated on. [00:44:46] Speaker C: You do. [00:44:48] Speaker A: Okay. It's not just a not wanting to leave. All my shit is here. [00:44:52] Speaker E: Okay, then pack. [00:44:53] Speaker D: Load up your stuff. [00:44:54] Speaker C: Skill issue. [00:44:57] Speaker F: I can. We can help. Do you want me to. I can see if I can work on some of those. The. The golems outside. See if we can get one that's like. Like a. Like a. Like a helper golem instead of like a really bad fighty golem. [00:45:09] Speaker A: You don't sound like you have time for that. [00:45:11] Speaker F: You don't know how fast I can work, Myla. [00:45:13] Speaker E: Don't you have an otter that could help? [00:45:17] Speaker F: My otter shoots people, but my badger can help. And shield. [00:45:25] Speaker B: Yeah, okay. [00:45:26] Speaker C: My honor shoots people, but my badger can help. [00:45:31] Speaker F: Well, the badger's the one that gives temp hp, so I figured he doesn't have a weapon. He's probably better set of helping hands than the otter that has a gun. [00:45:39] Speaker C: Just looking at what spells I have. Don't mind me if anything. [00:45:44] Speaker A: Okay, fine. Jeez. Pack up my shit then. [00:45:48] Speaker F: Do you want some help? [00:45:50] Speaker A: She just looks at you like, do you see all of this stuff? [00:45:55] Speaker C: Melwyn grabs an armful of stuff on the table and shoves it into the bag with the items also. [00:46:01] Speaker F: Okay, well, unceremoniously, that is very true. You can always come back. [00:46:08] Speaker C: Apparently angry is just petty melon now because she's just scooping. [00:46:14] Speaker A: Well, you wanted my help, right? [00:46:17] Speaker D: Yeah. Milo wants to talk to you for three full days. So we're trying to have that happen on a boat instead of sitting here doing nothing else. Okay, great. And we start going. [00:46:30] Speaker A: I guess we leave her stuff behind. [00:46:32] Speaker D: And is any of this useful for stopping the end of the world? [00:46:37] Speaker F: Does she have any building materials that I could use for my house? [00:46:43] Speaker A: She has so much scrap. Everything. [00:46:46] Speaker C: Whoa. [00:46:48] Speaker A: So I'm going to quick steal it all. I'm going to make you roll for investigation only because there's so much stuff that you genuinely have to like, like, sort swim through it. [00:47:02] Speaker C: Can I give her? Can I. Never mind. I cannot give you advantage. I do not have proficiency. I lied in mine. You don't need it. Also, I remembered who I'm seeking. [00:47:14] Speaker F: I mean, you never know. Is 21. I rolled an eight on the die. [00:47:24] Speaker A: Okay. And what do you. What are you looking for? [00:47:27] Speaker F: I am looking for. I mean it. I'm just looking for. For pieces and parts for the blueprints. Myla has drawn up on this, like, what's it called? Cardiopulmonary bypass machine. So she's just looking for specific parts for that and other little tinier things that might be helpful in the restructuring of ID's heart. [00:47:50] Speaker A: Yeah, I think you can find. You can find all of it here, or at least. [00:47:54] Speaker F: Amazing. While I'm looking through parts, I can. [00:47:58] Speaker A: Be like, hey, Yarin, is Yaron here, or is he back with Ari and Nadia? [00:48:04] Speaker C: No, he's. He's in a bag. [00:48:06] Speaker F: He's in the bag? Yeah. [00:48:09] Speaker C: Melon. Melon will yank him out as a leaf. [00:48:12] Speaker F: Yarin, what can you turn into items that, like, if I drew something, could you turn into an item that I draw? [00:48:25] Speaker E: Maybe. [00:48:26] Speaker F: I think your connection to green magic might be. I think your connection to green magic might be very useful in helping bring oxygen into ID's cardiopulmonary bypass machine, as well as taking the carbon dioxide out. So I think that if we can use that, like, green magic, that is like an innate part of you as like a filter to sort of help with that generation, I think that that would actually be very useful for you. [00:48:56] Speaker C: I am not 100% sure that photosynthesizing ID will work, but I want it to so badly. [00:49:07] Speaker F: Myla sees his eye twitching and goes, humanoid air in, plant air out. [00:49:16] Speaker E: It's not a plant. [00:49:18] Speaker F: Exactly. That's why you gotta take the plant air out. [00:49:21] Speaker E: Why does he have plant air? [00:49:23] Speaker F: Because humanoid air converts into. Have you heard of photosynthesis? [00:49:30] Speaker E: Why do you have plant air if I'm not a plant? [00:49:37] Speaker F: And then exhale. And then they add exhale. Okay, he's gone. [00:49:42] Speaker C: Go back to helping pack up anything that Myla starts handing us. [00:49:48] Speaker F: Just rooting around. [00:49:50] Speaker A: All right. Yeah. You guys pack up and head out. We will end there for today. Thanks for listening. I'm excited to see where this goes. Goodbye. [00:50:00] Speaker D: Bye. Bye.
