Episode Transcript
[00:00:00] Speaker A: Lyle, Lava Crocodile is not the. Not the Disney app game where there's a guy and you have to, like, get the bubbles to him or whatever, right?
[00:00:08] Speaker B: No, that's the. Where's my water Game.
[00:00:11] Speaker C: Oh, I loved that game, dude.
[00:00:13] Speaker D: That game was awesome.
[00:00:14] Speaker E: My water is the best. Oh, yes.
[00:00:26] Speaker D: Cut the Rope was a classic.
[00:00:27] Speaker C: I was gonna say cut the rope and Doodle jump was the ones I.
[00:00:30] Speaker B: Really fuck out of.
[00:00:31] Speaker D: Doodle. I didn't play Doodle jump.
I remember my dad having Angry Birds on his phone, and it was like the craziest thing.
[00:00:39] Speaker C: My dad had this one called Ragdoll Blasters where your goal is to launch ragdolls at a target, but the physics of it were insane because you're launching these ragdolls and they're like, I shouldn't be, like, flopping away from my microphone, but listeners at home imagine me just, like, whirling my limbs about willy nilly and, you know, just like tumbling all over the place. And, like, sometimes you'd have to, like, slide them or you'd have to make a pile of rag dolls to, like, trigger some weight thing. And like, it was like a puzzle game. It was really, really fun. It was a good one.
[00:01:14] Speaker E: That sounds like fun, dude.
[00:01:16] Speaker D: I watched game Grumps play Papa's Freezeria like a week ago, and I was like, oh, my God, I love these games so much.
[00:01:25] Speaker B: I played the fuck out of that game in middle school.
[00:01:29] Speaker C: Did you get to the point where you, like, memorized the different guys orders and stuff? And like, oh, there's Wally approaching the store. Better start my mint marshmallow ice cream.
[00:01:37] Speaker B: Treat for him, Bestie.
[00:01:40] Speaker D: That's insane.
[00:01:41] Speaker B: Nothing got done during study hall.
[00:01:45] Speaker D: I had one teacher in high school who did not like when we played cool math games. And instead she would only let us do the. I cannot remember what it's called, but it was a website where every question you answered you got like 25 grains of rice or something and they would donate rice.
[00:01:59] Speaker C: Oh, cool.
[00:02:00] Speaker D: I can't remember what it's called.
[00:02:02] Speaker A: I can't remember either. I remember that, though.
[00:02:04] Speaker D: Oh, but the questions were incredibly boring.
[00:02:07] Speaker B: Oh, I know which one you're talking about.
[00:02:10] Speaker C: That's cool, though.
[00:02:11] Speaker D: I don't remember what it's called. If you remember, put it in our discord.
I can't think of it right now. I feel like there were different categories at some point where you could, like, pick the category you wanted to do, but it was just so boring. Like, nobody wanted to do this.
[00:02:31] Speaker E: What was everyone's like? Like, you Know, like, when you're in, like, fifth or sixth grade and you have, like, the subject you're good at. What was everybody's subject? Mine was, like, specifically reading in English.
Like, English courses, like reading.
[00:02:44] Speaker B: You would never believe it.
[00:02:46] Speaker E: Everyone stand aside. I read 32 books in sixth grade.
[00:02:51] Speaker B: You would never believe it. With the person that I am now and the amount that I publicly say that I'm really shit at math online, but I was in honors math and in fact, a year ahead in math for most of school.
[00:03:05] Speaker D: Goated.
[00:03:07] Speaker C: I'm so jealous. Math is not something that's ever made sense to me.
[00:03:11] Speaker B: My. I. My. My mom and my teacher said it was because I started music so young and music was so easy for me, and apparently there's like, research and correlations and blah, blah, blah. I don't know.
[00:03:24] Speaker C: No, it makes sense.
My thing. I know it's not like a core subject for everybody, but I genuinely was that bitch in band. I played percussion, and my mom has a bachelor's in piano. So Grace, like you was playing piano from a really young age. And I moved schools. I moved schools a handful of times, but, like, right as I was starting sixth grade and seventh grade and stuff. And so I went from a district that had, like, a really high quality band budget to one that didn't. So I was really cool for knowing stuff because it hadn't been taught yet at my new school.
[00:04:03] Speaker D: Yeah, I was a math kid. I still am a math kid.
[00:04:06] Speaker C: That checks out. Yeah. I was gonna say, knowing you now doesn't.
[00:04:11] Speaker D: Didn't change. I was a huge reading kid, but it wasn't. We didn't do that as, like, a subject in school very often.
So I read a lot when I was a kid. But just for fun, I took calc in college. And I was like, I love this shit.
[00:04:26] Speaker C: Scared of you in a respected, full kind of way.
[00:04:29] Speaker E: Couldn't be me.
[00:04:30] Speaker D: I love that they have to have an entire semester class to teach you how to calculate the space underneath some kind of line on a graph. They're like, this is the whole last semester.
[00:04:41] Speaker C: Terrifying.
[00:04:42] Speaker D: You need to know how to do it every single way.
[00:04:44] Speaker C: How about you, Ben?
[00:04:45] Speaker B: I don't know.
[00:04:46] Speaker A: I don't know what I'm supposed to say here.
[00:04:49] Speaker E: You don't have us. You don't have a subject.
[00:04:52] Speaker D: Is there one you liked more than everything else?
[00:04:55] Speaker A: I. I don't know about liked more than everything else, but I will say that in sixth grade, my. Well, my fifth and sixth grade teacher was a former lawyer.
[00:05:07] Speaker C: Whoa.
[00:05:08] Speaker A: Who wanted to be a principal. But she needed like years of being a teacher in order to become a principal where we lived. And so she spent her time basically as a teacher messing with everything that the school district like had rules for because she actually would read everything and know the rules. And she found out that there's a whole budget in our school for like clubs and stuff. And there's only one club.
And she found out that because there's only one club, currently they're getting the entire budget.
It's like all of the money that's like divvy supposed to be divvied up between multiple clubs. So then she started doing her own club and then she was getting half of it and like was able to buy. I don't know if anybody else remembers this. There's a big ass London Bridge Lego set and she made it Lego club and used like $500 to buy this massive Lego set that we built over the course of like a month.
[00:06:13] Speaker B: That's amazing.
[00:06:14] Speaker C: That's so awesome.
[00:06:15] Speaker A: Shout outs to Mrs. Lee. I have no idea what she's doing now.
[00:06:18] Speaker C: Listening to this podcast probably.
[00:06:20] Speaker A: Yeah, for sure.
[00:06:22] Speaker D: Probably. Could you imagine Hazel's barking with a ball in her mouth? It's really funny.
[00:06:27] Speaker E: You. Nope. Never mind.
Yeah, I was going to make a transition and I decided against it.
[00:06:37] Speaker C: You gave the transition?
Yeah.
[00:06:41] Speaker D: Hi. Welcome to Spells and Whist. Welcome to Spells and Whistles.
[00:06:47] Speaker B: Jay's doing great, guys.
[00:06:48] Speaker C: Oh boy. Oh boy.
[00:06:51] Speaker E: Sorry guys.
[00:06:52] Speaker D: Apparently an R rated podcast.
[00:06:54] Speaker B: We are marked explicit.
We are.
[00:06:59] Speaker D: This is episode 12.
[00:07:01] Speaker E: And most importantly, I did not say who.
[00:07:04] Speaker A: Damn importantly, Jay now did say who and not what.
[00:07:10] Speaker C: Send me the dm.
[00:07:13] Speaker D: All right. Last time the recaps pretty short because they just. They basically just talked Alexia the whole time. Good episode. They learned a lot of stuff. But not recapping all the stuff we learned.
Questions and maybe convinced her to help them learn some magic and maybe teach others in the future someday. Who knows.
[00:07:35] Speaker B: And then we bullied her into coming with us.
[00:07:38] Speaker D: But you guys leave the cave with Alexia in tow and head back to the airship that is waiting for you. Where are this airship is going back to where you were, I think in.
[00:07:54] Speaker C: Our time on the airship. I don't know how much real time quote quote we're going to be spending, but I think Auden is probably kind of keeping distance away from Lexia. She's not a huge fan. She doesn't want to like push it, but she's gonna kind of like linger around like Melwyn. So if Melwyn wants to talk or anything. She's there and available, but will not come out directly and be like, if you want to talk about your mom, you know, like, it's a lot of. Just kind of like, I just wanted to check in and see how you were settling, you know, I think Melwyn.
[00:08:33] Speaker B: Will have a minute of. Just, like, you're being weird.
[00:08:37] Speaker C: Sorry, do you want me to go?
[00:08:43] Speaker F: You don't?
No.
But, like, why are you being weird?
[00:08:56] Speaker C: I.
She kind of, like, nods to the. The pawn in your p. In your hand still. I was gonna say the pawn in your piece, but she kind of nods to it and is just gonna say, it's just been a minute since you've grabbed one of them.
And also, that conversation was not quite as enlightening as I imagine you would have liked it to be. So if you want, like.
[00:09:31] Speaker F: And it wasn't.
[00:09:34] Speaker C: My ears are wide open.
[00:09:37] Speaker F: I mean, it was and it wasn't, but now she's here, and that's interesting.
I know I helped kind of bully her into coming with us, but it's still kind of weird, actually.
I mean, she's here, she's alive, she's real, and she's kind of disappointing.
[00:10:06] Speaker C: Yeah. I think Auden's gonna just kind of, like, you know, step over and, like. I don't know where this conversation is happening. Where do you think Melwyn would be if.
[00:10:15] Speaker B: I know, dude, uh, where would we be? We're back on the airship, man. There isn't a crow's nest on an airship, is there?
[00:10:27] Speaker D: No, it's more like a blimp than, like, a pirate ship. Yeah.
[00:10:30] Speaker B: Be so cool, though. But it also makes no sense.
[00:10:36] Speaker C: Is there maybe, like, a front viewing room, like, above where there's, like, an observation.
[00:10:40] Speaker B: Observation deck or something?
Maybe we go there.
[00:10:45] Speaker D: Yeah, sure. Yeah.
[00:10:46] Speaker B: Yeah, sure. Cool. Amazing.
[00:10:48] Speaker E: Yeah.
[00:10:49] Speaker C: I think Auden's kind of, like, sitting down on the deck, kind of, like legs splayed.
In my mind, it's like slumber party visuals where she's, like, leaning back, head tilted, and just kind of, like, listening, kind of kicking her feet every once in a while and just trying to, like, you know, it's been a minute since, like, it's been Melwyn and Auden, and so she's just, like, trying to. Trying to be supportive where she can.
She is a bit disappointing.
[00:11:21] Speaker F: Is that. That is.
[00:11:22] Speaker C: Can I ask why you picked that one?
[00:11:27] Speaker F: Mm.
I mean, I said it before.
I think I just wanted to be angry. It's hard to be angry at her, though. She makes it very hard to be Angry at her.
[00:11:39] Speaker C: I think that's very nice of you.
I guess you're a very good heart, Melwyn.
[00:11:47] Speaker F: I don't think so.
[00:11:50] Speaker C: I do.
And I'm not like the boss or anything, but I.
You've been a good friend and, you know, you're just a kid and you're out here and you're.
You're doing what other people are and.
Because you know that somebody needs to. And I think that's a lot for someone to have to carry, especially when they're. She kind of like, you know when you like close one eye and you like put someone between your fingers. Ah, you're teeny, you know, and she kind of does that to Melwyn. Especially for someone just as young and small as you are. Not that you're small. You've. You've. You. You're such a grown up kid.
[00:12:42] Speaker B: Could say Varden.
[00:12:45] Speaker C: I just mean you've. You. You do so much. And.
And even still, you're giving people the benefit of the doubt and that's.
I think that's good.
[00:12:58] Speaker F: Do you think it's bad if I don't want her to stick around after this?
[00:13:02] Speaker C: Oh, not at all. Oh, wait, her or you? Sorry.
[00:13:07] Speaker F: Oh, no, I don't. Do you think it's bad if I don't want her to stick around?
[00:13:12] Speaker C: Oh, no, I think that's totally reasonable.
I was kind of thinking we take care of the problem, then we can just put her back in her hole if that's where she wants to be.
[00:13:23] Speaker B: Just plays her back there.
[00:13:25] Speaker E: Just scoop.
[00:13:29] Speaker C: It's like Fortnite. Will she think the blimp driver?
[00:13:33] Speaker B: Oh, my God.
[00:13:36] Speaker C: Well, probably not.
[00:13:38] Speaker F: I don't know.
I think she knows a lot, which is part of the reason it's.
It's weird that she hasn't even tried to help or teach or at least that's the impression she gives off. Maybe she did try before and she's just being stupid about it. I don't know.
[00:14:00] Speaker C: It's possible.
I don't know.
[00:14:05] Speaker F: People are weird.
[00:14:06] Speaker C: Yeah. Yeah, we are.
Anyway, I know when I get mad I want to hit stuff. So if you want to hit stuff, let me know. You can hit some stuff together.
[00:14:18] Speaker F: I am really bad at hitting stuff, actually.
[00:14:23] Speaker C: That's okay.
[00:14:25] Speaker F: Like almost comedically.
[00:14:27] Speaker C: So do you want to get better? I can teach you.
[00:14:30] Speaker F: No, because I have magic for that.
[00:14:33] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:14:35] Speaker B: Mechanically speaking, I also have a minus two. I might hit something and heal it.
[00:14:41] Speaker C: Poof.
That's such a good visual. Like I imagine, you know, the like visual of like someone Getting socked in the jaw in a cartoon and their tooth goes flying. I imagine you, like, punch someone, and suddenly they have a tooth where they've always been missing one. Like an inverse of that trope.
[00:14:59] Speaker B: I always thought if, like, Melwyn and ID sparred, that's what would happen if ID made Melwyn, like, pick up a dagger or something.
[00:15:08] Speaker E: Here.
[00:15:08] Speaker B: I cast shocking grasp. Actually, I'm just gonna try and palm strike you, and it really does not at all. Fun fact.
[00:15:18] Speaker C: Yeah, I think unless Melwyn is, like, explicit. Like, stick around. Let's hang out. I think Auden is gonna kind of take some laps.
[00:15:28] Speaker D: Then I think VJ Chillin. Sorry. I said for sure, and then my mic was muted.
[00:15:34] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:15:34] Speaker D: For sure. So you.
You guys redirected them to go east?
[00:15:40] Speaker A: I don't see why not.
[00:15:43] Speaker E: Yeah, I think so.
[00:15:44] Speaker A: Is there anything we need to go back for?
[00:15:47] Speaker B: I have to.
[00:15:48] Speaker D: I mean, Ari. Ari and Nadia are there, right?
[00:15:51] Speaker B: No, they came with us.
[00:15:52] Speaker C: They came with us because they fought the golems with us.
[00:15:56] Speaker D: Oh, yeah. They just hung out outside then, I guess.
[00:15:59] Speaker E: Yeah.
[00:16:00] Speaker B: Come on, you two. It's time to go back on the boat.
[00:16:04] Speaker D: Yeah, no, there's. There's nothing you need to go back for. Really?
[00:16:08] Speaker A: Great.
[00:16:09] Speaker B: Cool. There's nothing. White.
[00:16:10] Speaker A: Surgery on a boat.
[00:16:12] Speaker B: Surgery on a boat.
[00:16:15] Speaker D: I don't. Okay, so it's not gonna take very long to get to, I assume, where you're trying to go. Nazmore, right?
[00:16:25] Speaker C: Yes.
[00:16:25] Speaker A: That's where he was heading towards next, right?
[00:16:28] Speaker D: You're in drill, right? It's gonna take you, like, half a day, maybe.
[00:16:33] Speaker A: Whoa. Oh, that's way shorter than I thought.
[00:16:36] Speaker C: Also, same.
[00:16:38] Speaker D: Well, maybe like three quarters of a day. I love all of us, but you're flying real fast.
[00:16:44] Speaker B: Our sense of scale was way off on this. Actually, fun fact.
[00:16:48] Speaker E: If that's the case.
[00:16:49] Speaker D: Well, it's because you're flying, but if you're walking, it's, like, incred. Like, so much longer.
[00:16:54] Speaker E: Like, if that's the case, then is it worth trying to stop somewhere to have, like, an actual, like, work place to work on it?
[00:17:04] Speaker A: Asmore. I thought it was Eblia.
[00:17:08] Speaker B: That's where he is now. But he was heading toward.
[00:17:12] Speaker D: He wasn't able. But he. He was heading towards NAS. More like a week ago.
[00:17:17] Speaker C: Yeah. In session 18, they. When the Mind Flayer gave its, like, parting mind blast to you. You were in Eblia with. That's right, with Erendril. And you got the vibes that they were in transit to Nazmoor.
[00:17:34] Speaker A: There you Are that's just a weird route for them to be up north. And then I guess they would like, want to mess with Gosnish.
[00:17:41] Speaker C: I was gonna say also presumably like creating minions.
[00:17:45] Speaker E: There's no saying that he's not. Not there. You know, like, if he's on his way, then we could get there beforehand. In theory true.
[00:17:59] Speaker D: They are still walking, so it's still shorter or it's still. It's still longer for them.
[00:18:05] Speaker C: My thought, if it's going to be that quick with air travel studying and all of us collaborating on this thing, could it be greatly decreased the time needed to spend spend on it? If we looped Melwyn's. I don't want to be like, yeah, join the crossfires. But if we got like magic dads, magic brothers also chipping in on this group project, would that make a difference?
[00:18:32] Speaker B: Well, you know, maybe.
[00:18:36] Speaker E: I do.
[00:18:37] Speaker A: The people helping have to be present.
[00:18:40] Speaker D: Yes.
[00:18:40] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:18:41] Speaker A: Okay. That's the problem.
[00:18:42] Speaker E: Well, why don't we. Why don't we go to their house and we can work on ID there?
[00:18:49] Speaker B: Oh, shit. You're right.
That is also an option.
[00:18:53] Speaker A: Like it is the opposite direction, right?
[00:18:56] Speaker C: Yeah, right. But if it's gonna.
[00:18:57] Speaker E: Yeah, but if we had time to.
[00:18:59] Speaker B: Get terribly far and we have the.
[00:19:01] Speaker D: Time, there are major, like, gateways.
So there's one. There's one that you would come across in Ghosnash that can basically pop you to ospy. Right?
[00:19:17] Speaker B: Yeah. And Rarefells.
[00:19:18] Speaker A: Great.
I'd like. That's going the wrong way actually. You can teleport there.
Great. Awesome.
[00:19:27] Speaker B: Never mind my logic.
[00:19:29] Speaker D: Airship travel. Magic airship travel has been expensive up like. Like very expensive up till now. But you've set up a lot of.
You set up a lot of like, stuff to help you with this, so.
[00:19:44] Speaker B: And we got exorbitantly wealthy very, very quickly.
[00:19:49] Speaker E: I feel better about Melwyn's dad's working on this than I do about this lady we just met. Personally.
[00:19:56] Speaker B: It's fair.
I pretty much all of us don't like her too. So.
[00:20:03] Speaker C: Awkward custody handoff.
[00:20:05] Speaker E: It's not that. It's not that I don't like her. I just don't get it.
[00:20:09] Speaker C: Yeah, it could be both.
[00:20:12] Speaker B: It could be a little bit of.
[00:20:13] Speaker C: Cultivating bit of Columbia Daddle to Kindeer. Not Kinder Ospay.
[00:20:20] Speaker D: Well, Kinder Fell.
[00:20:23] Speaker C: I was gonna say kinder is where.
[00:20:25] Speaker B: We went through Rare Fell.
[00:20:30] Speaker E: Rare Fail.
[00:20:31] Speaker B: Rare.
[00:20:32] Speaker E: Rare Fell very much. Where the hell is Rarefell? While we're on the boat, the airship going towards Rare Fail and Auspy and all that.
[00:20:43] Speaker B: Yeah, but, j.
[00:20:45] Speaker E: Can I find Lexia? I just want to talk to her.
[00:20:49] Speaker D: Sure.
[00:20:50] Speaker E: She's not really around anyone.
Just want to kind of knock on the door.
Hi.
How's it going? Are you settling in okay?
[00:21:02] Speaker D: I'm a little freaked out.
[00:21:07] Speaker E: Would it help if I explained to you how we're flying were.
[00:21:15] Speaker D: Maybe.
[00:21:16] Speaker E: Okay, I can do that.
I can go find some plans later and do that.
But I did have a question to ask you, too.
[00:21:29] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:21:33] Speaker E: I get. Okay. We very much kind of skimmed over this whole, like, idea of, like, a prism or whatever. Right.
Is connecting to the prism something you might be able to help somebody else do?
[00:21:52] Speaker D: It's not. Nothing is impossible.
[00:21:56] Speaker E: So can we try?
[00:21:59] Speaker D: Sure. Yeah.
[00:22:01] Speaker E: I can explain to you how the boat works, and you can explain to me how the prism works. And then she let.
[00:22:09] Speaker D: She, like, chuckles a little bit. She's like. Those feel like they're very. On very different levels, but I understand.
[00:22:16] Speaker E: I just. We. I just need to try.
I have to.
[00:22:22] Speaker D: Okay.
[00:22:23] Speaker E: So.
[00:22:25] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:22:26] Speaker E: Cool.
Let me go get those blueprints real quick, and I'll go get blueprints of the airship and some papers and ink and anything else that might be useful and bring it back and.
Yeah, I mean, I. She just.
She. Yes, that's what. That's what she wants to do.
[00:22:54] Speaker D: She.
Sure.
She suggests that. That you guys don't try until you're on, like, solid ground.
It's. It's You. It's gonna take a. Like, more than the time you have on this airship, probably.
So she's happy to do it, just not at this, like.
[00:23:15] Speaker E: Yeah.
[00:23:15] Speaker D: Exact current.
[00:23:16] Speaker E: Mila's just like. So when you're doing. So when Bubble. And she's just, like, asking a million questions about it, and she's just getting the information that she can from. From, like, her about it. Like, anything that.
[00:23:28] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:23:29] Speaker E: Yeah. It doesn't have to be like a. This is everything, blah, blah, blah. But, like, that is what Mila is doing that. And she's sketching up how.
She's sketching up different plans for an oxygenator for blood, so that way Yaren can turn into one.
[00:23:50] Speaker D: Okay.
[00:23:50] Speaker B: I don't know if yarn can be a machine, but that is conceptually very funny.
[00:23:56] Speaker E: I mean, it's. It's. It's nature.
[00:23:59] Speaker B: There's only one way to find out.
[00:24:02] Speaker E: That's literally what he's built for.
[00:24:04] Speaker B: I will point out the photosynthesis is different than how we produce oxygen, but. Okay.
Not real world Expanse.
[00:24:13] Speaker D: It's a fantasy world.
[00:24:15] Speaker B: That's real World science. So this is. I don't know anymore.
[00:24:22] Speaker D: If this is where you draw the line. We need to talk about it because there's a lot of that doesn't make sense. There's. There if up till now, listen, there.
[00:24:31] Speaker B: Was the point where I would have drawn the line. Died a very long time ago before this podcast even began.
[00:24:40] Speaker D: Yeah, that's what I want to hear is that a little part of us inside died before we started playing this podcast.
[00:24:48] Speaker C: Hooray.
[00:24:49] Speaker E: Yeah.
[00:24:50] Speaker D: My little physics brain has to go live somewhere else.
You guys land basically in Melwyn's like backyard as someone tells them where they want to land. And your dads and brothers are very excited to see you and are excited to see everyone else. And your dads look very off put by Alexia.
[00:25:20] Speaker B: Do they know who she is?
[00:25:22] Speaker D: They have seen her before.
[00:25:24] Speaker F: Seems like so potentially world shattering news. This is my mother.
[00:25:34] Speaker D: Both of your dads are trying to be. They're both trying to be very like, they're trying to be accommodating. They're not very good at hiding it.
They are just looking very uncomfortable and kind of upset.
Yeah. But they, they try to like they're invites that your brothers don't care.
[00:26:01] Speaker B: Sounds about right.
[00:26:03] Speaker D: Other than, oh, this is my mom.
Like, I guess you guys find.
I think you probably ask your dads for a place to set up.
They have.
They have like slowly been fixing the insane sinkhole in the backyard.
[00:26:29] Speaker B: Oh, right.
[00:26:30] Speaker E: Oh, yeah. And made your house twice the size.
[00:26:34] Speaker D: I. Yeah. And then it went back to normal size.
[00:26:37] Speaker B: Got about that.
[00:26:43] Speaker E: I have really good memory.
[00:26:44] Speaker D: Yeah. Yeah.
I don't remember their voices, so I'm trying to avoid having them talk as.
[00:26:52] Speaker E: Much as I can.
[00:26:53] Speaker B: I don't. They didn't have much of voices.
[00:26:58] Speaker E: Dad.
[00:26:59] Speaker B: Oh God.
[00:27:00] Speaker D: No, that wasn't it.
[00:27:03] Speaker B: I rejected this reality.
[00:27:05] Speaker D: It's been like two real life years since I've had to do that.
Anyways, they help you find like places to set up.
Some stuff is like put outside because there's just not enough space in this house. But most everything in the upstairs, like little library loft area has been. Is gonna be taken over for the next at least three days apparently.
But it is evening when you guys get here and it is too late in the day to try and start anything.
[00:27:48] Speaker B: Just awkwardly explaining what it is we're doing. Like.
[00:27:51] Speaker F: Yeah, so yeah, it's a bomb.
[00:27:57] Speaker B: All right.
[00:28:01] Speaker D: Yeah, they're.
I mean they're reasonably freaked out, but are also like gonna try and help the best they can.
But you guys take a long Rest. Are you gaining back an emotion?
[00:28:16] Speaker B: Oh, you know. You know, that might be a good idea to do now. Might be a good time for that, wouldn't it?
[00:28:23] Speaker D: It's on a long rest, so it's up to you.
[00:28:25] Speaker B: It is on a long rest. Here's the thing. There's like 11 of them left. And I'm like, I don't feel like doing more dreams. But also at the same time, if she takes back all of them, she gonna be hurting in the morning.
Although we're here for a few days, so. Yeah, fuck it.
[00:28:43] Speaker E: Do it.
[00:28:44] Speaker B: We're just gonna balance her out. Why not?
[00:28:47] Speaker C: Because we're.
[00:28:48] Speaker B: Because she's a horrible home.
That is. That is cute, actually.
[00:28:53] Speaker F: We'll balance her out.
[00:28:55] Speaker A: A bunch of birds start slamming into the windows.
[00:28:58] Speaker C: Call back to last episode.
[00:29:00] Speaker B: What windows? I think we destroyed those.
[00:29:04] Speaker E: We just made them twice as big and then shrunk them back down again.
[00:29:07] Speaker C: Glass notoriously loves expanding and contracting really quickly.
[00:29:11] Speaker E: Yeah.
[00:29:11] Speaker B: And there was a sinkhole and fire and hypnotic sprays and assassins and a puppet. And other things.
Many things happen to this poor house.
[00:29:22] Speaker D: I think what I had you do last time was the first.
I think it was. The first one was free.
And everything after that was like a D.C. constitution save.
[00:29:34] Speaker B: Oh, God.
[00:29:35] Speaker D: Didn't make it as like, a D6 of damage or something.
[00:29:38] Speaker B: God. All right.
[00:29:42] Speaker D: Which is a lot of roles.
[00:29:43] Speaker B: That is a lot of roles. I also know that she cannot wake up on her own if she does this. So luckily, there's, you know, like, eight other people in the house.
[00:29:55] Speaker C: Is she letting anyone know or is she just going. So here's the thing.
[00:30:01] Speaker B: She has to pull all of these items out of the bag.
And I'm sure that we've just set up the way that we did before, either in the library upstairs, or maybe that's what we're using for. It's surgery, now that I think about it. Unless we use the workshop. Are we using the workshop or are we using.
[00:30:23] Speaker D: The workshop does not exist anymore.
[00:30:25] Speaker B: Oh, right. It's gone. Sinkhole is a thing.
[00:30:29] Speaker C: I blew it up. That was.
[00:30:30] Speaker B: So the library is probably going to be the operating room, which means that everybody's probably on the floor like we were last time. So if we are just going to, you know, put out pillows and shit on the floor.
[00:30:46] Speaker C: She does.
[00:30:46] Speaker D: It is hard to find a. It's hard to find a private moment in this house. There are not many rooms. And there are, like, what, two dads, one mom, two brothers.
That's five. There's the four of you guys.
[00:31:02] Speaker C: I don't like picture tent outside.
[00:31:04] Speaker E: I was about to say, I think Myla's, like, just standing outside looking down at the sinkhole.
[00:31:11] Speaker B: Melon will offer her room to somebody because there are three people that have never been here before, so.
[00:31:17] Speaker D: Oh, so plus Nadia and ari. So that's 11. That's 11 people in this house.
[00:31:21] Speaker B: Yeah. There was at least 10 people that could wake Melon up in case of an emergency.
[00:31:28] Speaker D: But, yeah, you're not trying to be incredibly stealthy about it.
[00:31:32] Speaker B: I don't think she can be there.
One of the items is a fucking painting.
[00:31:41] Speaker D: You gotta go sleep with the painting.
[00:31:44] Speaker B: Some of these are incredibly funny, though.
[00:31:47] Speaker D: I do think it's funny to think about Melwyn just, like.
Like, just, like, laying on top of an absolute, like, pile of stuff.
[00:31:55] Speaker B: Okay. Actually, the funniest thing about this is that all of these are. All the ones that are left are actually the smaller ones. But the awkwardness one is a bottle of alcohol.
[00:32:05] Speaker D: So.
[00:32:08] Speaker C: Just pull that out in the crook of her arm and it's like Melwin. No, it's medicinal purposes.
[00:32:19] Speaker D: It's gonna be a DC14 constitution check. Why don't we. Why don't you roll those while Auden and Myla have a chat?
[00:32:29] Speaker B: Let me do it. Count real quick of how many I have.
[00:32:32] Speaker D: That's not. That's not okay. And then you can send it later or track it and just tell me how many succeeded or failed.
[00:32:38] Speaker B: I have to make nine rolls, baby. I'm just gonna pull out extra detailed 20s and just roll them all at the same time. That's what I'm gonna do.
[00:32:47] Speaker D: Perfect.
[00:32:47] Speaker B: And then I don't have to go for it.
[00:32:51] Speaker C: Do you want to, like, assign them to the appropriate emotion, though, so you know which way you're failing? Okay. I don't know if it matters. It doesn't.
[00:33:02] Speaker D: I think they still succeed. She just takes damage. She just takes damage they don't like.
[00:33:07] Speaker B: Regardless, somebody's gonna have to wake Melon up. You know, actually, you. I'm taking my room.
[00:33:11] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:33:12] Speaker B: Nobody gets my room. My room.
[00:33:15] Speaker C: Does it have, like, a Melon's room keep out, like, sign on the door?
[00:33:19] Speaker B: It doesn't have a keep out, but there are, like, you know, if you remember, because this was arc two. This was. Or arc three. This was so long ago.
[00:33:26] Speaker E: But.
[00:33:29] Speaker B: There are little name plates and there are little birds in the doorways. So cute. Time to start counting.
[00:33:37] Speaker C: I think that Auden's kind of, like, squeezing around people in the house and holding her hammer. Really? Close to her, so it's not swinging around and destroying the house or bumping into people. And I think it's just very crowded. So I think she is gonna just kind of slip outside with her rucksack kind of dragging along the floor and finds herself kind of outside just past dusk, perhaps.
And I think that she, for a little bit, doesn't even realize that she's not the only one outside and starts, like, kind of, like, scoping out a spot to, like, just lay out her bedroll and stuff when she sees Myla sitting.
Sitting or standing, just kind of at, like, the edge of the. The pit.
And I think she's just gonna kind of leave her stuff there and kind of, like, make her way over toward Myla, and she's just gonna say, everything okay. Did you drop something? Do you need me to go get it?
[00:34:45] Speaker E: Oh, no, no. I didn't drop anything. Milo's like, sitting crisscross and just sort of looking down at it. I was just thinking about how when, you know, the last time we were here, we were all here, Things seemed a lot more straightforward, and I feel like they're still straightforward, but there's just a lot more steps to get to it, so.
[00:35:12] Speaker C: Hmm.
[00:35:13] Speaker E: I don't know.
I feel like you're supposed to reminisce on things like that.
So here I am.
[00:35:22] Speaker C: Nice.
[00:35:25] Speaker E: Are you doing okay?
[00:35:27] Speaker C: I'm good. I'm probably gonna sleep out here just because it's very crowded, and I don't want to keep people up if I'm staying up late.
[00:35:38] Speaker E: Okay.
Well, I mean, I could see. I mean, I have a tent, so I can put my tent next to your tent. If you want.
[00:35:49] Speaker C: If you want. I mean, I think there's still a couple of couch cushions inside, but you'd probably be sleeping next to id.
And he is a tosser and a turner.
[00:36:02] Speaker E: Yeah. I mean, he's a heavy sleeper, but also, when he rolls over, he doesn't move.
Yeah, I've shared many a floor with him.
[00:36:17] Speaker C: Yeah. If you want to put your tent by mine, I found a pretty flattish spot over there. She kind of points.
[00:36:23] Speaker E: Okay, cool.
I'll go set it. I'll go set it up in a little bit.
[00:36:31] Speaker C: I know I'm not really the target participant, but is there anything that I can do to help you with the stuff?
I think it's gonna be hard just watching and waiting, but also, I don't want to be in the way, and I don't want to mess anything up.
[00:36:55] Speaker E: Are you. Are you talking about, like, the the id. Heart stuff or.
[00:37:00] Speaker C: Yes.
[00:37:00] Speaker E: Like a. Oh, okay. Yeah.
I mean, if you just want to, like, be a second set of hands, that'd be great. I mean, that worked out pretty good last time, and.
[00:37:13] Speaker C: Sure.
[00:37:17] Speaker E: Yeah. I'm surprisingly not that nervous about that. I feel like that's the most straightforward thing that we have going on at the moment.
[00:37:27] Speaker C: Mmm.
[00:37:28] Speaker E: You know, like. Like, I. I've done that before.
[00:37:33] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:37:35] Speaker E: So. Not to say it'll be easy. I mean, it'll be very difficult. But I like a challenge.
[00:37:42] Speaker C: I do, too.
[00:37:43] Speaker D: Just.
[00:37:44] Speaker C: Just don't blow up.
[00:37:48] Speaker E: I do not intend to blow any of us up.
[00:37:52] Speaker C: Great.
Not that I think you would, but.
[00:37:56] Speaker E: You just had to say it. I get it.
Yeah. Go.
[00:38:06] Speaker C: Cool. No, I was just.
There's a nice hole in the ground.
[00:38:13] Speaker E: I'm pretty sure you made that.
I mean, we were both there, but.
[00:38:21] Speaker C: Yeah, I forgot you would be here. Should I start, like.
Should I start, like, feeling it in? I could turn it into a pool.
[00:38:32] Speaker E: You could if you wanted to.
[00:38:35] Speaker C: I guess I should ask Vireo tomorrow. Probably.
[00:38:40] Speaker E: Probably ask first.
You know, when everything's, like, done, like, you know, we succeed and we kill Erendrill, because we will.
I don't know. What are you gonna do?
[00:38:57] Speaker C: Auden opens her mouth to say something and kind of stops. I think she kind of squints her eyes a little bit and tilts her head and she says, I'm not really quite sure.
I mean, I've traveled around a lot before, and I enjoyed doing that with you and Ed. But I know that you've got probably important things to do, and I would love to come along if you need the company.
But also, there's this other. Other places I can go that I haven't been to yet. Probably other jobs to. To do, just not quite sure.
[00:39:54] Speaker E: Yeah, I mean, yeah, whatever. I mean, whatever you want to do. I mean, if you want to go, like, off on your own, that's fine.
[00:40:03] Speaker C: Are you planning on ascending to godhood after all this with the Prism?
[00:40:08] Speaker E: Oh, that took a huge jump.
Um, I.
I think there is a, like, myriad of mixed emotions on Myla's face.
If.
If Purple Magic doesn't have somebody overseeing it, then that's how Aranjel was able to start doing this in the first place, right?
[00:40:40] Speaker C: Maybe.
[00:40:42] Speaker E: I mean, I don't.
There is so much magic and power out there that's just up for grabs, and if just anyone can take it.
How do we know this won't happen again?
I mean, what if no one's around to fix It. Or to.
To be the good guy or.
I know Ari is intimidated by her power.
I get it.
[00:41:22] Speaker C: I don't know if you do in a nice way.
[00:41:28] Speaker E: I mean, it's just a lot like.
What do you mean?
[00:41:39] Speaker C: I just mean every time you've had something big in front of you, you just take the plunge and you just jump right in and you.
You know, you don't go in without being smart about it. You make a plan, you make a blueprint. You do a lot of reading.
But I don't think I've ever, ever seen you scared to the point of inaction.
[00:42:11] Speaker E: Inaction is what gets people hurt.
[00:42:15] Speaker C: So does action sometimes, though.
[00:42:19] Speaker E: But at least you're changing something.
Myla kind of looks out at the, like, purples and stuff of the sky as the sun is setting.
If I had the power to stop those people in the room talking about how they were going to use everybody that I was friends with, then maybe we wouldn't be here.
Are you asking me not to.
Not to go after it?
[00:42:57] Speaker C: I don't think so.
[00:42:59] Speaker E: But please don't.
[00:43:03] Speaker C: I just want to make sure that you're safe.
I mean, look what happened to Lexia. She tried for more power and it turned into a crumpled up wet leaf.
[00:43:18] Speaker E: I don't know when the last time I have felt truly safe was.
I mean, with you guys, sure.
[00:43:32] Speaker D: But.
[00:43:33] Speaker E: I mean, I was fucking smashed with an engine. I turned into a fucking puppet.
Like, the. The only way to guarantee that I can.
I can't not help the world.
And I clearly can't do that with how I am now. I am a liability. I am not strong enough. And I know that I can be.
[00:44:08] Speaker C: I know you can, too.
I'm not saying that you can't.
Just want to make sure that it's.
I don't know. I just.
The gods are very, very far away. We don't see them, and they just send yarns and.
And whatever, you know? But what if you go away?
[00:44:45] Speaker E: I won't.
I. I won't.
I can decide that.
I can make that choice.
There has to be a way. I mean, there always is a way. There's a way to figure out everything.
There. There has to be.
[00:45:12] Speaker C: I think if anyone can figure that out, it would be you.
[00:45:18] Speaker E: I have never. I have never second guessed myself.
I've never second guessed myself. Why?
Why is that? Why is this happening?
[00:45:29] Speaker C: Are you doing that now? Well, don't do that. That's not what I meant to do.
[00:45:32] Speaker E: No, no, no, no, no, no, no. It's. It's Fine. I just.
I don't know.
Fuck, I don't know.
[00:45:45] Speaker C: Audun nods her head and she's not sure if it's in understanding or if it's in a reassurance or what she's nodding for.
[00:46:01] Speaker B: But.
[00:46:01] Speaker C: But she does.
And I think she sort of reaches out toward Myla and kind of grabs her hand and just kind of gives it a squeeze.
It's okay not to know. And I'm sorry if I'm making you freak out now.
I didn't mean to. I just.
It's, it's been a long day of travel, so I am going to go set up my tent and, and it will be okay.
And she gives another little squeeze and then walks away.
[00:46:54] Speaker E: I think it takes a second, but as Auden is walking away, I think she just says, if you ask me not to do it, I won't.
So don't ask me unless you know, please.
[00:47:15] Speaker C: Auden stops and she again nods and she walks away.
[00:47:25] Speaker D: You guys set up your tents?
[00:47:27] Speaker E: Yep.
[00:47:28] Speaker D: In the sinkhole next to each other.
[00:47:31] Speaker E: Yeah.
[00:47:35] Speaker D: Yeah.
Grace, you have some rollies?
[00:47:41] Speaker B: Yeah, I did a whole bunch of rolling and I rolled really, really bad and really, really good. But I didn't want to roll good on the side thing I rolled good on, so. Ow.
[00:47:51] Speaker D: Yeah, that's fair.
[00:47:52] Speaker B: Yeah. So for context, Melwyn has to make a con save if she takes back more than two emotion, more than one emotion because it's a lot very overwhelming. And I failed all but two of the con saves because there were 10 emotions I had to make. I, I, I, I took back and I only had to do it for nine of them.
And then I had to roll a whole lot of damage and I got 40 of my 62. I've been lost to psychic damage, so. Ow. Melwyn wakes up with a migraine.
[00:48:26] Speaker D: I think it's the worst dreams you've had in your entire life. It's like a cacophony of noise.
[00:48:34] Speaker B: Yeah. Whenever Melwyn wakes up, she's just having a very bad time and she's in her room because she said you.
[00:48:42] Speaker D: Well, someone, someone wakes up mellow and yeah, because she.
[00:48:46] Speaker B: I don't know who, but somebody gotta wake her up anyway. Long rest. I should have hit that button before I, I took the damage because actually I would have gotten spells back and then woke up and took damage. This is fine.
[00:49:03] Speaker D: Yeah. Thankfully, I don't think you'll be doing any combat today, so. And if the bomb. And if a bomb explodes, you're dead anyway, so who cares jokes on you.
[00:49:15] Speaker B: I'm going to fight it.
[00:49:18] Speaker E: Explode. Punch a bomb.
Bomb.
[00:49:22] Speaker B: Punch you in the bomb.
[00:49:29] Speaker D: You guys set up for surgery on an ID in the library with the candlestick. And.
Yeah, they have a table for ID to lay on. And Myla has all of her tools and such set up.
I want you to tell me right now who you want in this room.
[00:49:58] Speaker B: I am the only person who has enough healing, so I'm assuming that I'm love for us.
[00:50:04] Speaker E: For all. Obviously all of us four, because the main characters.
[00:50:08] Speaker D: Well, it's on the table, so he doesn't count.
[00:50:10] Speaker A: True.
[00:50:10] Speaker E: Okay, I would love for. I would love for all of us to be there.
[00:50:14] Speaker B: Does it count as an object during all of this?
Sorry, sorry, sorry.
[00:50:23] Speaker D: Corpses are an object.
[00:50:25] Speaker E: So is Yaren able to turn into an oxygenator with the help of Green mommy herself.
[00:50:36] Speaker C: Grommy if you will.
[00:50:38] Speaker E: Grommy.
[00:50:39] Speaker C: No, Grace won't. Okay. Heard.
[00:50:42] Speaker B: No.
[00:50:44] Speaker D: Sure.
Yeah, it's cool. It's all just made of plant.
[00:50:50] Speaker E: But it works.
[00:50:52] Speaker D: Sure. Yeah, it does.
[00:50:55] Speaker E: Okay.
[00:50:56] Speaker D: It just looks weird because it looks like a. Someone, like, made a craft in school.
Like the weirdest school craft. But it does work.
[00:51:08] Speaker E: Yeah, that's fine. I mean, Myla's whole thought is, that's gonna be the hardest thing to make of the cardiopulmonary bypass because you. She can't turn carbon dioxide into oxygen while it is in blood. So she was like, cool. You got that?
I would love for one of Melwyn's dads to be in there.
[00:51:35] Speaker B: Whichever one is more is wizard or artificer.
[00:51:40] Speaker E: Probably artificer.
[00:51:41] Speaker B: There you go.
[00:51:42] Speaker E: Do we want Lexia in there, guys?
[00:51:45] Speaker C: I mean, we brought her along too.
[00:51:48] Speaker B: We did kind of bring her to help.
[00:51:50] Speaker E: Yeah. I mean, I know she knows boss get wiring, but so do I. You know, like.
[00:51:55] Speaker B: Yeah, I mean, she's really good at it. We can leave her. We can keep her to the side. Unless we really need her.
[00:52:02] Speaker E: We'll have. She'll be the backup.
And then does Id want Ari in there? I would have asked him this ahead of time.
[00:52:10] Speaker A: I. Yeah.
[00:52:11] Speaker E: Yeah. Okay. Do you as well?
[00:52:15] Speaker C: They're bros for life.
[00:52:17] Speaker E: No.
[00:52:17] Speaker B: Nadia. Yes. But that is a very upsetting position to see a loved one in.
[00:52:24] Speaker A: That's fair. I mean, I don't. I guess it would be. Yeah, go ask if she wants to.
[00:52:31] Speaker C: Or.
[00:52:31] Speaker A: Yeah, let's go ask if she wants to.
[00:52:33] Speaker E: Okay. Yeah.
[00:52:34] Speaker D: I mean, she's the one with the wish bell if stuff goes absolutely horrible. Right.
[00:52:37] Speaker E: That's another thing I was thinking of.
[00:52:39] Speaker B: But we do have A very speedy Auden who could go get her.
It's also a very, very small house.
[00:52:52] Speaker D: She'll be in the room. That's fine.
[00:52:54] Speaker E: Okay, cool. Then I think those people. I. Yeah, I think those people. Myla will preemptively cast an enhance ability on herself.
[00:53:09] Speaker D: Oh, God.
[00:53:10] Speaker B: You have to be awake for this, cuz. Let's have any drugs.
[00:53:14] Speaker E: Let's do. Let's do int. Intelligence.
Because I'm. I'm working purely machinery. Let's do intelligence.
[00:53:25] Speaker D: Okay.
[00:53:26] Speaker B: Oh, and are you attuned to that Ioun stone that we found forever ago?
Okay.
[00:53:33] Speaker C: Every conversation has had an orbit.
[00:53:36] Speaker B: Yeah, was thinking about that because I was like, that was a Dex. That was a Dex one, so that'll help.
[00:53:42] Speaker E: Yeah.
[00:53:45] Speaker D: Ben, can you tell me what ID feels like? Like this. Is he, like, emotionally, is he, like, okay with the idea of maybe dying?
[00:53:57] Speaker A: Yeah, I think he's nervous about dying, like, and exploding and killing all of his friends. But the thing that he keeps replaying is Aaron Drool using him to explode all of his friends and a bunch of other people. And that's worse.
So hopefully somebody else will step up if we can't.
Also, I want to make it canon that it slept on the table.
[00:54:24] Speaker B: Perfect.
[00:54:25] Speaker E: Sure. Of course.
[00:54:26] Speaker D: Yeah, of course.
[00:54:28] Speaker A: And then they had to, like, re. Sterilize the room and everything, but it's fine.
[00:54:32] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:54:33] Speaker B: Melon will go up to ID with a small, like, bundle of scrap leather and hold it up and go.
[00:54:47] Speaker F: I'm gonna need you to bite down on this.
[00:54:50] Speaker A: Oh, yeah, good. Good point.
[00:54:51] Speaker B: Yep.
[00:54:52] Speaker F: And hope that you pass out.
[00:54:56] Speaker A: Yep. Me too.
[00:54:57] Speaker E: Yeah.
I'm also going to take out my badger.
[00:55:08] Speaker B: Oh, I will say, if Ari wants to be in the room but doesn't want to actually see it, there is a blackboard and bookshelves that were, like, partitioning off, like, a school section of the library upstairs.
[00:55:21] Speaker D: Right.
[00:55:21] Speaker B: So she could be. Yeah, she's not right there.
[00:55:24] Speaker D: She's halfway.
She's, like, halfway between. So that, like, she could just not look. Or she could look either way. Yeah.
[00:55:32] Speaker B: No one's gonna be like, I don't.
[00:55:34] Speaker F: I'm Ari. I'm not really sure you want to watch this.
[00:55:37] Speaker D: She's trying to be so brave.
[00:55:41] Speaker C: It's.
[00:55:43] Speaker F: We do need you to be up here, but it's okay if you don't want to look. It's a lot.
[00:55:49] Speaker D: She looks like she's gonna vomit, but she just. She nods. She can't say anything.
[00:55:53] Speaker B: Melvin will point to a waste bin in the corner if she needs to vom.
[00:56:05] Speaker E: Everyone has 12 temp HP.
[00:56:07] Speaker C: By the way, you are back. Oh, thank you.
[00:56:09] Speaker B: Great. Cool. Brilliant.
Who woke Melan up in the morning, by the way? I'm curious.
[00:56:17] Speaker E: I wasn't in time.
[00:56:19] Speaker C: I think it would make sense for Ari or one of your dads maybe.
[00:56:23] Speaker B: Yeah. Who had to wake up and find that Melon just could not wake up.
Whoa. Surrounded by a beer bottle and half eaten bread and many other things.
What is it? What are the specific items? Because I think it's funny.
A chest bond. A feather in an actor cap. A metal cup, A jester hat. A cooking spoon. Like a wooden cooking spoon. Just a plate, a door handle, a piece of coal, a half eaten loaf of bread, and an alcohol bottle.
[00:57:01] Speaker C: Legend.
[00:57:05] Speaker B: Doing surgery on an id.
Only slightly more complicated than surgery on a grape.
[00:57:14] Speaker E: Just slightly.
[00:57:16] Speaker D: All right, so, Myla, I'm gonna need you to first make a tinker check for making this bypass machine.
[00:57:27] Speaker E: For sure.
[00:57:30] Speaker B: Oh, you haven't built it yet? I thought you already built it.
[00:57:33] Speaker E: I mean, we're doing it in. In.
[00:57:36] Speaker C: In hindsight, nothing that I can do to assist you. So I.
[00:57:40] Speaker E: That is okay.
[00:57:41] Speaker C: For emotional support.
[00:57:44] Speaker E: It's a 24.
[00:57:47] Speaker D: Cool. I was gonna say anything under 20 was a 5% chance of mishap per number. Underneath a 20. Zoink.
[00:57:57] Speaker C: Scoop.
[00:57:58] Speaker D: All right, Milo, you a. This does not feel very good.
Myla takes off the panel that covers your chest cavity and you. The last thing that you remember is anything being like on its way to be detached and you feel it and then it. You're just out.
[00:58:25] Speaker B: Oh, thank God.
[00:58:27] Speaker D: Probably better.
Definitely better Melon the entire time.
[00:58:31] Speaker B: Please pass out.
[00:58:32] Speaker D: Please pass out.
[00:58:33] Speaker B: Please pass out.
[00:58:35] Speaker D: Truly.
So the next thing I need you to do, I've got a whole list here. Okay. I will let you know that from here on out, there is a failure DC, and if you hit two failure DCs, we kill, things will happen.
[00:58:54] Speaker E: Great.
[00:58:55] Speaker B: No pressure.
[00:58:59] Speaker D: Got it.
[00:59:00] Speaker E: Do I get to know how many rolls I'm making?
[00:59:03] Speaker D: Six.
[00:59:05] Speaker E: Okay.
[00:59:06] Speaker B: Oh, is it. Oh, God.
[00:59:10] Speaker A: Got this.
[00:59:11] Speaker B: You got it.
[00:59:13] Speaker E: Mila just sort of like cracks her knuckles. Is like, okay, best friend, I got this.
And she's gonna go into her just like her zone in mode and is going to like, just be quiet and calm and just the.
It's literally like, like a complete shift because, like, her hands aren't moving or shaking or anything. They are completely, completely solid and still as she is. And she's not looking at ID's face. She's looking solely at the contraption as she begins surgery.
[00:59:57] Speaker D: Yeah, this One should be okay.
You need to put him on bypass, which is a medicine check.
[01:00:08] Speaker E: Okay.
I'm gonna look over at Melwyn and say, yeah, really good with people and healing. Can you please come help me find the right places?
[01:00:22] Speaker B: Oh, Melon's been standing there with two fingers on IDs carotid to make sure that he still has a pulse.
[01:00:28] Speaker E: Yeah, absolutely. She. She's just like, not looking up at anything. She's just looking down and just like calmly calling for people.
[01:00:38] Speaker B: Yep. So Melan's already there because she. Remember she went up and gave ID something to bite down on and was just like, please, please pass out.
[01:00:47] Speaker E: Can Melwyn provide me the help action?
[01:00:50] Speaker B: Grace, I do not have medicine proficiency.
[01:00:54] Speaker E: Actually, fun fact, I don't think that matters.
[01:00:57] Speaker F: I can.
[01:00:58] Speaker B: I will give you the help action.
[01:01:01] Speaker E: Okay.
[01:01:02] Speaker B: Not for the help.
[01:01:03] Speaker D: In technical rules it would, but we've not been doing that.
[01:01:08] Speaker B: Help action is weird for ability checks, it's typically if you have proficiency with the thing. But we've established the Melody is very gifted with medicine. So even though she does not have proficiency with medicine, I think she just has enough knowledge at this point.
Okay, I have a 19 in. I know what I'm doing.
[01:01:31] Speaker E: So with that, my medicine bonus is non existent. I rolled a 17 and I'm gonna flash of genius myself.
[01:01:42] Speaker B: And we've long rested, so you have them all back. Thank God.
[01:01:48] Speaker E: 22.
[01:01:49] Speaker D: 22. Yeah. You calmly and efficiently put its heart on bypass. And this thing is now pumping blood through him and breathing for him.
[01:02:06] Speaker E: Okay, thank you, Melwyn. I appreciate that.
Onwards and upwards.
[01:02:14] Speaker D: The next thing you need to do is stop the mechanical pieces of the heart.
That will be an intelligence or medicine check, whichever you like.
[01:02:26] Speaker E: Okay, So a flat intelligence check or a medicine check.
Heard. I will do an intelligence check.
That's going to be a 2419 on the die with advantage.
[01:02:43] Speaker B: Nice.
[01:02:47] Speaker D: I'm honestly very glad you can't see my face right now. This is making it much better for me. Okay.
Yes. With a 24, you effectively stop his heart.
If he had a monitor hooked up to his heart, it would flatline.
But he doesn't. He's currently okay otherwise.
And the every. All the moving pieces of this thing seem to have stopped. Or at least the important ones that are doing biomechanics in the heart.
[01:03:21] Speaker B: And this is why Melon's standing right there.
[01:03:26] Speaker D: Okay, I need you to now make a tinker check in order to get into the places you need to be.
[01:03:37] Speaker E: Okay.
[01:03:39] Speaker D: This one is difficult.
[01:03:42] Speaker E: That's going to be a 28.
And let's flash of genius plus five.
[01:03:50] Speaker B: Jesus.
[01:03:51] Speaker D: You 33. You after with a. With a lot of precision and detail and time and patience that rarely overcomes Myla. I think you unscrew pieces, you take part pieces that don't need to be there, and you find the places you need to be.
[01:04:16] Speaker E: Okay.
[01:04:17] Speaker D: The next that I need you to do is if you are removing any pieces of this thing. That would be an intelligence check.
[01:04:25] Speaker E: I would like to remove the bomb, so I will make an intelligence check.
[01:04:33] Speaker D: Yeah. And just so you're. For your knowledge, I know I sent it to you earlier as text, but the like quote unquote bomb that's inside is more of like separate alchemical substances that when combined would produce an insane reaction. Yes, they are currently separate. It's not like a sack of gunpowder or something, but so it is tough because you need to take them out carefully so they don't interact with each other.
[01:05:03] Speaker E: Uh huh.
It's going to be 14, plus 5 is 19. Flash of genius 24.
[01:05:10] Speaker D: Okay.
You take out these separate alchemical solutions and pieces.
I do need you to roll a separate check for keeping the parts of this bomb intact.
[01:05:26] Speaker E: Okay.
[01:05:28] Speaker D: On removal, the first one was you removing it successfully.
[01:05:32] Speaker E: Okay.
[01:05:33] Speaker D: Now if you want to keep the bomb, that's a different check.
[01:05:35] Speaker E: Yeah. Would that be.
[01:05:36] Speaker D: It's a dexterity.
[01:05:37] Speaker E: Okay. A dexterity check. I can do that.
[01:05:41] Speaker B: Artificer help.
[01:05:44] Speaker E: Artificer help.
[01:05:45] Speaker B: Maybe. Does dad want to help me?
[01:05:48] Speaker E: Dad help.
[01:05:49] Speaker B: That's why he's in there.
[01:05:51] Speaker D: Please.
Don't you have advantage from the stone?
[01:05:55] Speaker B: Not stone is a plus two or it's something.
[01:05:59] Speaker D: Oh, okay.
Yeah, that's fine. I'll help.
[01:06:03] Speaker E: Okay, cool.
Okay.
16 plus 4. Dirty 20.
[01:06:10] Speaker C: 20.
[01:06:10] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:06:11] Speaker D: Okay. You take out the pieces and that helps you set them aside.
[01:06:18] Speaker E: Okay.
[01:06:19] Speaker D: Carefully, separately, so they do not interact.
[01:06:24] Speaker E: I'm sweating so hard.
[01:06:27] Speaker C: You're doing great.
[01:06:32] Speaker B: Content warning now. Fucking everywhere. For this episode, I'm gonna mark them down.
[01:06:37] Speaker D: And now you need to put the heart back into place.
This one is hard.
[01:06:46] Speaker E: Okay. What kind of a check is this?
[01:06:50] Speaker D: It can be intelligence or dexterity.
[01:06:54] Speaker E: Could I argue intelligence with proficiency?
[01:06:59] Speaker D: Sure.
[01:07:00] Speaker C: Cool.
[01:07:04] Speaker E: Thank you for the argument. Is the. Oh, gosh.
Is this the la. Okay, is this the last check? It's fine if it's not. I just want to use special dice for the last one.
[01:07:16] Speaker D: It is the last one.
[01:07:18] Speaker E: Okay. Okay.
I rolled a 16 plus 9 would be a 25. And I will flash of genius myself for a 30.
[01:07:29] Speaker D: Oh my God.
[01:07:31] Speaker B: Good rolling, Jay.
[01:07:33] Speaker C: Wow.
[01:07:35] Speaker D: You. You Undo everything you did, essentially filling in the. The parts that need to be filled in after removing different parts.
And you put everything back together, and you take him off of bypass.
And it is like a horrible moment of anticipation.
The longest few seconds of your entire life, and then it spits out the leather and comes. Wakes back up in the worst, worst way.
[01:08:14] Speaker E: I quickly make a tinker's tools check to see if I can put this substance, these two substances, on the badger I summoned.
[01:08:26] Speaker D: Sure.
[01:08:28] Speaker B: Hey, you know what make a really good bomb testing site? Actually, the hole in the backyard.
[01:08:39] Speaker C: It'S too small.
[01:08:41] Speaker B: I was 23.
[01:08:42] Speaker E: I'm gonna use my lash flask of flash of genius.
28.
[01:08:49] Speaker D: Okay. Yeah. You put them wherever you want.
[01:08:52] Speaker E: Awesome. I put it on him, on the badger, and then I let him go back into a little ball, and I turned to id.
Hey, buddy.
[01:09:03] Speaker B: Does it try to sit up?
[01:09:05] Speaker E: How are you feeling?
[01:09:06] Speaker A: No, he just lays there.
[01:09:08] Speaker B: Yeah. Please.
[01:09:11] Speaker A: What feeling?
[01:09:14] Speaker B: What's feeling?
[01:09:16] Speaker E: My little laugh.
[01:09:17] Speaker D: Yeah, you do feel like you just died.
[01:09:19] Speaker E: Yeah.
Myla just gives him a big old hug.
[01:09:24] Speaker F: Oh, no, no. My left, my left, my left. Myla, my left.
[01:09:27] Speaker D: I'm sorry.
[01:09:27] Speaker E: I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I got. I was in the zone for so long. I got really excited. I was really calm, and I was very quiet.
[01:09:35] Speaker F: Okay.
[01:09:37] Speaker A: I think I'm just gonna be here for a bit.
[01:09:40] Speaker F: No, that's all right.
[01:09:42] Speaker C: Do you want anything to drink or eat?
[01:09:48] Speaker A: No, I don't. I don't think so.
[01:09:51] Speaker C: Okay.
[01:09:52] Speaker F: I would go get him some water.
[01:09:55] Speaker C: Yes. Odin will go and do that. My brain is like wall of water, huh?
[01:10:02] Speaker B: No, no, no, no, no, no, no.
[01:10:06] Speaker A: Wall of water.
[01:10:07] Speaker B: We are in a library, though.
The.
[01:10:11] Speaker C: The thoughts.
[01:10:12] Speaker E: The thoughts fucking drown us as soon.
[01:10:15] Speaker C: As he makes them.
[01:10:16] Speaker E: Oh, it's free.
[01:10:19] Speaker F: All right.
[01:10:22] Speaker D: Now you can breathe a little bit.
[01:10:27] Speaker B: What do I have? How much do I have? What could I do? Hang on.
There's no way he got out of that without damage.
[01:10:35] Speaker E: And say thank you for finally helping. You did great, buddy.
[01:10:41] Speaker D: The oxygenator just spits out residual water at you.
[01:10:49] Speaker E: Okay.
[01:10:50] Speaker B: Okay.
[01:10:51] Speaker D: And then. And then turns back into leaf yarn, and he's very grumpy, and he goes and sulks.
[01:11:00] Speaker E: Implementing you.
Whatever.
[01:11:05] Speaker D: Well, it was kind of backhanded.
[01:11:08] Speaker E: No, I mean, Mila doesn't know how to not say things that she doesn't think, you know?
[01:11:17] Speaker D: Great job. We will pick up there next time.
[01:11:20] Speaker B: Yeah. Melon will hit it with a fifth level, cure wounds before we wrap up, just to.
[01:11:28] Speaker C: Just to be safe.
[01:11:29] Speaker E: The jam.
[01:11:30] Speaker B: Yeah. Oh, okay.
[01:11:32] Speaker E: And now Ben doesn't have to make a backup character. Now we all don't have to make backup characters.
[01:11:36] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:11:40] Speaker D: So true.
[01:11:41] Speaker B: 11 plus three.
So 26, 27, 28, 29 plus another three. Take 32 points.
[01:11:52] Speaker E: Eight.
[01:11:52] Speaker B: Whatever. It's not that it matters really, because we didn't say what damage you took, but there's no way you didn't get out of that without taking something. So.
[01:12:02] Speaker D: For sure.
[01:12:02] Speaker B: Yeah, really more of just like Melon Easy in doctor mode. And she's just like, you are not moving from this table until I say so. And you love it.
[01:12:13] Speaker D: Fantastic. Well, good rolls. We will see you next time for more of this.
[01:12:19] Speaker E: Bye. Bye.
[01:12:20] Speaker C: Bye.
