[00:00:00] Speaker A: If you could.
[00:00:01] Speaker B: If you.
[00:00:02] Speaker C: If you have. If you.
[00:00:03] Speaker B: Have you ever thought?
[00:00:04] Speaker A: Have you.
[00:00:05] Speaker B: Have you ever.
[00:00:07] Speaker C: If you.
[00:00:08] Speaker A: If you could make a golem.
[00:00:22] Speaker B: Hello. Welcome back to Spells and Whistles. We're jumping right into combat so we can finish out this and they can kill some.
It's no one's turn first.
[00:00:32] Speaker D: Wait, it's my turn.
[00:00:33] Speaker B: I forgot.
[00:00:33] Speaker D: It's my turn first. Even though we literally just said anyway. Hi, I'm Grace. I play D and D professionally. It's fine.
Cool. Melon is going to do the thing. Melon's going to go 5, 10, 15, 20, 25.
Melon's going to move. So she's right next to Ari and Anastasia. I need you to make a wisdom save for that golem because Spirit Guardians is still up.
[00:01:03] Speaker B: Alrighty.
[00:01:05] Speaker D: The spell is busted and I love it.
[00:01:09] Speaker B: Even at advantage. Definitely a fail.
[00:01:12] Speaker D: Yay. You take full damage. I think it's 3D8. I just rolled without checking. That wasn't. Thank you, Ben Yumin.
[00:01:21] Speaker A: I love that spell. It's ingrained into my spirit.
[00:01:25] Speaker D: I have.
[00:01:25] Speaker B: This is good.
[00:01:26] Speaker D: I have it on a wizard in another game and it's stupid. All right.
Five plus seven plus eight is 20 points of radiant damage. I think it is. I think I get to choose. It's radiant. We're saying it's radiant.
[00:01:42] Speaker B: Fuck you. 20.
[00:01:45] Speaker D: Yeah. 20 points. And then for my turn, because this spell is goofy, I am going to. Where is ID? I'm gonna guiding bolt on Gollum 2. So you get advantage or whoever the fuck it is hits it. I'm gonna roll the hit before I do that.
Oh, natural 20 to hit.
[00:02:10] Speaker B: Yep. That'll do it.
[00:02:11] Speaker D: Do I double dice.
[00:02:14] Speaker B: If it does damage?
[00:02:16] Speaker D: 2, 3, 4.
So 86 to hit this thing. Ooh, kind of mid damage. That's okay.
612 plus another 719 plus 5 is 24 points of something.
[00:02:37] Speaker A: I think it's also mid.
[00:02:40] Speaker D: My butt on 8D6. That's kind of mid.
I've rolled better on Fireball.
[00:02:48] Speaker A: Yeah, but it was for such a low level spell slam.
[00:02:52] Speaker C: It's so good.
[00:02:53] Speaker D: That's true. That is.
[00:02:54] Speaker A: And it gives advantage. What a good spell.
[00:02:57] Speaker D: Yeah. It get you. Somebody gets advantage. Also, that creature's speed is halved while it's within the great aura thing.
[00:03:06] Speaker B: Yeah, no problem.
[00:03:07] Speaker D: Whatever the it's called.
Guys, I promise I know what I'm doing.
[00:03:12] Speaker B: That was Golem 1 or Golem 2.
[00:03:14] Speaker C: I thought it was 2.
[00:03:15] Speaker D: Hit Golem 2 with the guiding bolt. Hit Golem 1 with the aura spirit guardians.
[00:03:20] Speaker C: I see.
[00:03:20] Speaker B: Okay. That is my bad then.
[00:03:22] Speaker D: Because Spirit Guardians wasn't my turn. It was my move.
[00:03:25] Speaker B: It was 24.
Anything else? On your turn, Moen.
[00:03:29] Speaker E: That's it. Thank you.
[00:03:31] Speaker B: Perfect. Myla, hit it.
[00:03:35] Speaker D: Do you want.
[00:03:37] Speaker C: I was about to say. You were like, go. Id. I was like, but I'm next.
[00:03:41] Speaker D: I said ID or whoever because I wasn't looking at initiative.
[00:03:45] Speaker C: Ben, do you want advantage on that hit?
[00:03:47] Speaker B: Take it. Take it.
[00:03:49] Speaker A: Okay, I can move to flank. We're good.
[00:03:51] Speaker D: Take the shot.
[00:03:53] Speaker B: Cool.
[00:03:53] Speaker C: Take the shot, Mickey. Anyways, thank you.
[00:03:58] Speaker D: She understands me.
[00:04:00] Speaker C: Okay.
Myla is going to look at Golem 2 that just got finished whacking on fricking Auden's head and is gonna say.
[00:04:10] Speaker A: Sit the fuck down.
[00:04:11] Speaker C: And is gonna shoot it.
[00:04:14] Speaker B: Great.
[00:04:15] Speaker F: Damn.
[00:04:16] Speaker D: Come in.
[00:04:17] Speaker B: That's so tiny.
[00:04:21] Speaker D: Double crit. Let's go.
[00:04:23] Speaker F: I have the power of know what you have to do on your turn.
[00:04:27] Speaker A: Don't put this pressure on me.
[00:04:30] Speaker D: I just have a roll. Well, forehead. That's all.
[00:04:32] Speaker C: Oh, that's so. That's so. And I am.
[00:04:35] Speaker B: There's so many.
[00:04:36] Speaker C: I get to. Just for. Just for reference. Just for reference, because this is my impenitence gun. My damage is 2d12.
And then I get a d6 for attacks, and now I get 4d12.
[00:04:50] Speaker B: D6.
[00:04:53] Speaker F: Kill, maim, destroy.
[00:04:57] Speaker C: Hear that, Dice?
So Myla is going to say, sit the fuck down. And she is going to pull out her gun, and the lightning that is going through it sparks with purple and it starts whirring around it. And as it leaves the gun, there's a trail of lightning that zigzags behind it as she does 44 points of lightning damage.
[00:05:22] Speaker F: Chimney Cricket sleigh. Queen Auden blushes a little bit.
[00:05:31] Speaker C: And Myla's hair like flies. Myla's hair fires up a tiny bit, and it has, like, little purple on the tinges as she's just like.
These things are so weak.
Amateurs.
[00:05:47] Speaker D: You thought. You thought you wanted a woman with a sword in your fantasy world. What about a woman with a gun?
[00:05:53] Speaker C: Pew, pew, tee.
[00:05:56] Speaker D: Lesbians. Take it away.
[00:06:01] Speaker B: But the real question is, does she holster it on the right of the left?
Depends on the day.
Anything. Anything else, Jay?
[00:06:12] Speaker C: Oh, that's a really good question I'm gonna take.
[00:06:15] Speaker B: Thank you.
[00:06:16] Speaker C: I was just so happy I hid it so much. I'm gonna take a few steps forward and kind of stay against the inner wall of this outer courtyard area, but just get a tiny bit closer to my friends. Still keeping like 15, 20ft away from the action, though.
And Do I wanna cast any spells? What spells do I have no bonus action? Spells that are not concentration. So I'm good.
[00:06:50] Speaker A: Does your commanding your little guy take your bonus action?
[00:06:53] Speaker C: I have to call it out as an action. And I've been shooting people because I didn't say that I had it called out beforehand. So I've been wanting to shoot people with my good gun because I like shooting.
[00:07:07] Speaker A: Taking action does.
[00:07:10] Speaker D: To be fair, shooting people do be fun.
That one just shot a guy.
[00:07:16] Speaker A: Technically this is not legal advice.
[00:07:21] Speaker B: This is Call of Duty. Shoot a man shooting people in Minecraft. It's turn obviously.
[00:07:26] Speaker D: Government agent.
[00:07:27] Speaker A: It's going to scoot through Ottoman scrago. Excuse me again. 10, 15. 20. And flank Golem 2 with Nadia. It's now the northernmost person on the map. Right near the cave. Slash. Person made entrance.
[00:07:43] Speaker D: We made a Venn diet.
[00:07:45] Speaker A: And he's going to make a attack with flanking advantage. Maybe I can get the third crit in a row. That'd be crazy. I got a natural 18. That's pretty good.
[00:07:56] Speaker D: Our auras are hugging.
[00:07:57] Speaker B: That's pretty close.
[00:07:58] Speaker A: Our auras are ven. Ing.
And his diagram.
[00:08:03] Speaker C: Get vend.
[00:08:04] Speaker A: Idiot, get vend.
I will put a first level smite on this attack.
[00:08:14] Speaker D: Perfect.
[00:08:15] Speaker A: That's three D8s plus one D6. 27 points of mixed damage.
[00:08:27] Speaker B: Oh yeah. This one dies. Yeah. Wow.
[00:08:33] Speaker A: I did it. And then ID will. He only moved 20ft. So he's gonna scoot. I don't have flanking anymore. But I will try to hit golem number one.
[00:08:46] Speaker C: You spin.
[00:08:47] Speaker A: Natural 20.
[00:08:48] Speaker F: Yeah.
[00:08:49] Speaker D: There we go.
[00:08:52] Speaker A: I just had to be patient.
[00:08:54] Speaker B: Okay. Yeah. Yeah.
[00:08:57] Speaker A: That's the noise that it makes.
[00:09:00] Speaker C: Oh God.
[00:09:01] Speaker A: It's less damage than my smite. But that's okay. I rolled really bad on my dice.
15 points of damage.
[00:09:11] Speaker B: That's your. That's the crit?
[00:09:13] Speaker A: Yeah. I didn't put a smite on it.
[00:09:15] Speaker B: Sorry.
That's not a really judgment.
Wow.
[00:09:23] Speaker C: How dare you.
[00:09:24] Speaker B: That's like kind of embarrassing for you.
[00:09:26] Speaker A: You want me to put a third level smite on it? I will.
I don't wanna.
[00:09:32] Speaker D: It's a crit.
[00:09:33] Speaker B: Why would you not? How hard do you want?
[00:09:38] Speaker A: Cuz I want to save my spell slots just in case.
[00:09:40] Speaker B: Whatever. It's your character.
[00:09:42] Speaker A: I don't.
He's good.
Kills the first one and jumps over it. And then it smacks the other one on the head with his hammer and it just like makes a big old dent.
[00:09:55] Speaker B: All right. It is Nadia's turn. She is still right next to this. Golem and is still flanking with Ari.
She's gonna roll these. No crit for her, but that would have been cool.
[00:10:09] Speaker A: Hey, that's kind of embarrassing.
[00:10:11] Speaker B: Naturally. So she can.
[00:10:14] Speaker C: Can you imagine not critting? Yeah, I couldn't be us.
[00:10:18] Speaker B: God.
[00:10:20] Speaker C: You can't sit with us if you don't crit.
[00:10:24] Speaker D: On Wednesdays, we just crit.25 damage to.
[00:10:30] Speaker B: Golem number two, who is the only one remaining.
All right. Good job, Nadia.
Next is Otin.
[00:10:38] Speaker F: I'll go whack him.
I'm gonna wander on over now. I'm gonna reckless. I don't care.
Seven plus some stuff. Let's see if that's enough. I think it's only. Well, no. It's a 16 to hit, which I think will do it.
[00:10:56] Speaker B: Hooray.
[00:10:57] Speaker F: I'm gonna whack it nice and good with my Warhammer.
9 +4 is 13, +3 is 16 points of damage for that first one.
[00:11:09] Speaker B: Perfect. Hell yeah.
[00:11:11] Speaker F: I will hit it twice more.
That one's cocked, but I'm pretty sure. Yeah. Okay. 18 plus 9 is stuff. That's definitely a hit. That is gonna be eight plus four is 12. Plus three is 15 points for the second one.
And I'll hit it a third time.
[00:11:34] Speaker D: Oh, no.
[00:11:36] Speaker F: Not so good. 14 to hit.
[00:11:39] Speaker B: A 14 hit.
[00:11:40] Speaker F: Yeah. I love it when that happens. Eight plus four is 12, plus three is 15.
[00:11:47] Speaker B: Damn.
[00:11:48] Speaker F: 45 points damage from me this turn.
[00:11:51] Speaker B: That's crazy. That's wild.
[00:11:54] Speaker F: I don't think I have any bonus action things. So I think she's just gonna kind of look over to Mylan. She's gonna say it was a really good hitting also. You too, Melwyn. And it. You are good at what you do also.
[00:12:08] Speaker D: And also you two.
[00:12:11] Speaker A: There's still a guy.
[00:12:13] Speaker F: I'm working on it. I'm working on it. She like whacks up.
[00:12:18] Speaker B: Nadia throws up her hands in like a. I've been in the middle the whole time.
[00:12:21] Speaker F: Oh, sorry.
[00:12:22] Speaker C: And you missed your first hit.
[00:12:23] Speaker F: Good shooting, Ticks.
Good job.
[00:12:29] Speaker B: Anything else?
[00:12:30] Speaker F: That's it.
[00:12:31] Speaker C: That wasn't in character, by the way. I feel like I need to specify.
[00:12:34] Speaker F: That that was not an important clarification.
[00:12:38] Speaker B: All right, we've got four potential hits. Ari, id, Odin, or Nadia.
That would be an ID attack this time.
[00:12:46] Speaker A: Hit me.
[00:12:49] Speaker B: That is going to be a hit.
[00:12:51] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:12:53] Speaker B: 16 plus 8 is 24.
[00:12:56] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:12:56] Speaker B: That definitely pretty decent damage this time.
22 points bludgeoning, and then a constitution saving throw from you.
[00:13:10] Speaker A: My con save for your effect is a 17 that's passed my con. Save for my concentration is a dirty two. Good.
[00:13:21] Speaker B: Alrighty. And then it is going to switch over and hit Auden.
Yes. That's a hit. Another 24. 20 points of damage and a con saving throw from you.
[00:13:36] Speaker F: I'm having that two. Just 10 because I'm still raging to 10.
[00:13:39] Speaker B: Yes.
[00:13:40] Speaker F: Constitution save is a 19 plus it's aura which is gonna be a 20.
[00:13:45] Speaker B: That is saved.
Yep. That's its turn. It's ara.
[00:13:50] Speaker D: Cool wisdom save at the end of its turn. Please.
Spirit guardians.
[00:13:55] Speaker A: Yay.
[00:13:56] Speaker C: I like can all of the spirit guardians look like little yarns.
[00:13:59] Speaker B: That's a fail.
[00:14:02] Speaker D: Spirit Yanure.
[00:14:08] Speaker B: Definitely a fail.
[00:14:10] Speaker D: Two sevens and an eight.
[00:14:12] Speaker A: Math 22.
[00:14:14] Speaker B: It is that it is. It is. It is reduced to dust. Let's go get r. Let's go.
[00:14:22] Speaker D: Busted spell. Absolutely busted spell.
[00:14:25] Speaker F: Nicely done.
[00:14:27] Speaker D: Love that spell.
[00:14:29] Speaker B: The combat ends and on. And you your haste like whenever haste decides to end. I guess it's my last turn. My last choice. But.
[00:14:41] Speaker D: All right. Sound off. Who's not dead?
[00:14:44] Speaker F: I am still alive.
[00:14:47] Speaker C: Yeah. I'm doing fine.
[00:14:48] Speaker F: That was not very cool.
[00:14:51] Speaker E: Are you in need of healing of any kind?
[00:14:54] Speaker F: I'll probably be fine. I've got my special ring. She flexes the ring that she got from AMALI that regenerates one hit point every 10 minutes.
[00:15:06] Speaker C: Hey Auden, you're gonna feel a little slow for a second. Just like take a deep breath. I'm gonna drop concentration.
[00:15:14] Speaker F: I think she's going to flop on the ground.
[00:15:17] Speaker C: Oh no.
[00:15:19] Speaker F: And just enjoy the slowness for a second.
[00:15:22] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:15:23] Speaker F: She's gonna like hold up a thumb. Thumbs up from the ground. I don't know if you can see it over the pile of clay golem in front of her.
[00:15:31] Speaker B: Nadia raises her hand in response to Melwyn offering healing.
[00:15:37] Speaker E: Sure. Also probably me forgot to do this this morning because I made them and then promptly forgot to give them to you.
[00:15:46] Speaker D: And Melon will hand out her little treats. So everybody, if you decide to eat one, you can get four temp hp.
[00:15:52] Speaker A: Om nom nom.
[00:15:53] Speaker D: She has four of them. So she'll give the last one to Nadia after she heals her.
[00:15:59] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:16:01] Speaker D: And Melon will just go over and how hurt is she?
[00:16:07] Speaker B: Well, she's at 54 of 97 and I think her and her max is reduced by seven. So she can have a max of 90.
[00:16:18] Speaker D: Okay.
[00:16:18] Speaker B: She's at 54.
[00:16:20] Speaker D: I don't know that I want to.
[00:16:21] Speaker E: Spend big spell slot on you.
But you can have a second level.
[00:16:28] Speaker D: Cure wounds is what she can dice. Plus thing. What is that brain dice plus thing.
14 points. She gets 14 back.
[00:16:43] Speaker B: All right, sweet.
[00:16:46] Speaker D: I had to remind myself that Melon's not a petty little cunt like I am sometimes. If it was me, I just would have been like, all right, cool. You need healing.
[00:16:57] Speaker B: Smack, wallop. Nadia also has some clay, like sticking to her, like kind of on her torso, also indicating this.
[00:17:10] Speaker D: This reduced at least some of it off.
[00:17:16] Speaker B: It doesn't come off like it's stuck. Like you try to. You could try to wipe it off. You can try to magic it off. It's still there.
[00:17:22] Speaker E: Well, you're doomed.
[00:17:25] Speaker B: She gives you a thumbs up.
[00:17:28] Speaker D: She gives a thumbs up tip while you're doomed.
[00:17:32] Speaker B: Yeah, I like her.
[00:17:34] Speaker D: She's a fucking mood.
Cool. Into the cave we go.
[00:17:40] Speaker C: I guess I was about to say before we enter the cave and while everyone's sort of like getting back on their feet, doing healing, eating their food and stuff, Kamila, go to the sort of like, like entrance of this cave and just make an investigation check, see if she can see anything or, I don't know, traps, sproons, whatever. Extra shit, of course.
[00:18:04] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:18:06] Speaker C: 25.
[00:18:08] Speaker B: Nothing particularly stands out to you.
There's in its. In its building. It probably took a while.
It doesn't seem like it was built magically or anything like that.
For all intents and purposes, it looks like a regular cave, except that it's just too like, well shaped to be a natural cave entrance.
It's. It probably used to be a cave entrance that got like widened and expanded or created from no cave entrance. But there's nothing like, there's nothing trap related or anything like that does in here.
[00:18:51] Speaker C: Does the workmanship on the entrance to this cave look to be the same workmanship as the clay golems?
[00:18:59] Speaker B: Yeah, pretty much.
[00:19:00] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:19:02] Speaker B: It's very like there was definite like fine tool use or like known tool use, but this isn't. Yeah, it's not magical or anything.
[00:19:14] Speaker C: Milo's gonna turn to everyone, say, well, it's not trapped, which is good.
So once everyone's ready to go, she's gonna kind of like realize she's still holding like her gun in prep and just sort of like holster it.
Sorry, we can go whenever we need to.
[00:19:39] Speaker F: Auden's gonna use her hammer to kind of pull herself up and kind of like squish into the clay a little bit with her like hammer and smear it around with her feet. Kind of just dust herself off a little bit. She also tries to get rid of the clump of clay that's still fused to her, for lack of a better word. But seeing it not come off, just kind of shrugs nonchalantly and is like, yeah, okay, ready?
[00:19:59] Speaker A: Whenever it's possible that. This is your mom, right, Melwin?
[00:20:09] Speaker E: Yeah, I suppose so.
[00:20:12] Speaker A: Do you want to get back any feelings before we go in there?
[00:20:16] Speaker B: Let me look.
[00:20:20] Speaker D: Oh, wow. All of the ones that are left are horrible except for one.
This poor girl.
[00:20:27] Speaker B: I'm so sorry.
You know what? If I was given a bag of all my emotions, I'd probably take the good ones and not the bad ones.
[00:20:34] Speaker D: Yeah. You want to hear what you want? Because it's.
[00:20:38] Speaker A: I would love to.
[00:20:39] Speaker B: Yes. Yeah, yeah. Let's update the list.
[00:20:41] Speaker D: So she only has happiness as like a solely good one left, which is pretty much okay. And then the other ones left are anger, boredom, anxiety, pride, awkwardness, satisfaction. Oh, I guess that one's also positive now that I think about it. Disappointment, hatred, and disgust.
[00:21:03] Speaker A: Wow.
[00:21:05] Speaker D: So there's two of the ten that are left.
[00:21:08] Speaker C: There's like, like all of the inside out emotions in there.
[00:21:11] Speaker D: Good God.
[00:21:13] Speaker F: Right before going into the gross cave. I think he's a power move.
[00:21:20] Speaker B: Not having happiness. Alternatively not having happiness.
Quite a choice when she might meet her mother.
Insane character choice. And I love it.
[00:21:30] Speaker E: I think I'll wait a bit.
This is weird.
And I have two questions, so I feel like more feelings might get in the way.
[00:21:40] Speaker C: That makes sense.
[00:21:41] Speaker F: Do you want to lead the way?
[00:21:43] Speaker E: I'm kind of bad at directions.
[00:21:47] Speaker D: Also known as I have a negative wisdom. I should never be leading us anywhere. Please.
[00:21:56] Speaker A: I can go up front if we want.
[00:21:59] Speaker B: Cool. That works.
[00:22:00] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:22:01] Speaker E: And it makes sense.
[00:22:03] Speaker B: In.
[00:22:03] Speaker E: And my lead the way.
[00:22:04] Speaker C: Oh, okay. Yeah.
[00:22:08] Speaker A: I need some light. Sorry.
[00:22:09] Speaker E: Why would that be weird? You're the leader.
[00:22:13] Speaker C: I don't really know if I would qualify myself as a leader because nobody ever listens to me. But like, that's okay.
[00:22:19] Speaker A: What?
[00:22:21] Speaker D: Objectively untrue. But I.
Whatever.
[00:22:25] Speaker A: I mean, nobody listens to you. You told the golem to sit down and it listened.
[00:22:29] Speaker C: Yeah, because I killed it and it didn't sit down. It sort of like crumbled.
[00:22:33] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:22:34] Speaker F: I was like, I don't want to.
[00:22:35] Speaker C: Be the leader of the golems.
[00:22:36] Speaker F: That wouldn't be very fun. Yeah, exactly.
[00:22:38] Speaker C: Yeah. Yeah, exactly.
[00:22:40] Speaker F: So I'll listen to you. Ready?
[00:22:46] Speaker C: Yeah. So let's go up front. Id and I'm gonna go back.
[00:22:52] Speaker E: Perfect. Now you can give ID some light to see.
[00:22:54] Speaker C: Yeah, I can do that.
I will just have a little like produce flame going in my hand. That's a little like Bluish tealish. That sort of lights the way as we go. Id can you see in the dark?
[00:23:15] Speaker A: A little, but it's always helpful to have some light up.
[00:23:19] Speaker C: Gotcha. Yeah, I got it.
I think instead of produce flame on her hands, she's gonna make her hair brighter.
[00:23:32] Speaker B: Produce flame on your head.
[00:23:34] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:23:37] Speaker B: Great. You guys head into this cave. It is down some like rock carved stairs. They look a little bit natural, but still definitely handmade and put there intentionally. It feels rather like large. Like if, if this, this cave, especially for Auden, like you know, this cave structure kind of makes sense more for an ocean than it does like at the base of a mountain. It's kind of more like a cave that the sea would wash into and kind of like wear down all these rocks.
But instead it's at the base of a mountain that's pretty dang landlocked at least from the ocean. Yeah.
[00:24:20] Speaker F: So in some places that I've lived, there have been like huge mountains. And the mountains used to be like the edge of a huge giant lake. And so there's like seashells and little bits of like creature fossilized and whatever in the side of the, like in the walls, in the stone. If she looks, does she see anything like that or is it like super power washed tunnel?
[00:24:46] Speaker B: Like you can make a perception check.
[00:24:48] Speaker F: I would love that. Let me pull up my perception score.
Whoa. Natural 20 for a 21.
[00:24:57] Speaker A: Oh my goodness.
[00:24:58] Speaker B: There's the.
[00:25:03] Speaker D: Crits.
[00:25:03] Speaker F: While looking for sea creatures. That's the most on brand thing of all time.
[00:25:07] Speaker B: I mean.
[00:25:08] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:25:10] Speaker B: What kind of bird is this? Can I make a nature check?
[00:25:12] Speaker F: Oh, that's a red winged black bird.
[00:25:17] Speaker B: Yeah. You are noticing like fossilized especially like nautilus shells and like fish bones and stuff.
Like a little bit more above eye level. So whatever used to be here was very high and very long ago.
[00:25:36] Speaker F: I think as we're walking, I think this is very unusual. But she's gonna pull a myla and be like, oh my gosh. So if you look at this, this kind of structure that they have here, she's gonna go off on one and just kind of like pointing out like we have these nowadays. But this is like the great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great great grandfather of this guy. And so you can see that, you know, just like the skeletal structure. Well, and this one over here, there may have been at this point, you know, just kind of like, you know, just kind of like down the hallway.
[00:26:08] Speaker B: Yeah, your voice is kind of echoey because this cave is pretty big. So it's, it's, it is. It is hard to be quiet in here. Honestly.
[00:26:18] Speaker D: Anastasia, can I do shenanigans?
[00:26:22] Speaker B: Sure.
[00:26:23] Speaker D: It's not really shenanigans. It's melon being.
[00:26:25] Speaker E: Being sneaky.
[00:26:26] Speaker D: Can I roll a sleight of hand to palm the chess pawn from the bag of items?
[00:26:33] Speaker B: Sure, yeah.
[00:26:34] Speaker D: And slip it into her pocket.
[00:26:36] Speaker B: This is just against everyone's passive perception. So take a look at your passives.
[00:26:41] Speaker D: 19.
[00:26:44] Speaker B: I'd say we got a 19.
[00:26:46] Speaker C: My passive's 10.
[00:26:47] Speaker A: Not even close.
[00:26:48] Speaker B: Great then. Yes, you do that. No problem.
[00:26:52] Speaker D: Teehee.
[00:26:54] Speaker C: I'm gonna pick up some of the like little like shells and stuff as we're walking that are like, like loose ones. And I'm gonna start making otter eyes. Like a little like necklace with like pliers.
[00:27:05] Speaker D: Little pliers. Little surfer necklace?
[00:27:07] Speaker C: Yeah, like a little surfer necklace. He is a sea otter.
So as he's sort of like hugging onto like my shoulder, I'll be like, just, just give me one second. Like how to like. And he's like watching me very intently prepared for this necklace.
[00:27:23] Speaker B: Hell yeah.
[00:27:24] Speaker D: What's that? What's that weird ass mockumentary film that's like penguins that are surf. Is this just called Surf's Up?
[00:27:30] Speaker F: Oh, surf's up.
[00:27:31] Speaker C: Yeah, surf's up like 2006.
[00:27:36] Speaker D: I don't know why the idea of Otter Isaac fucking surfing got me.
[00:27:40] Speaker C: I think Otter Isaac deserves to surf.
[00:27:46] Speaker B: Let Otter Isaac serve.
[00:27:48] Speaker C: Let Otter Isaac serve.
[00:27:50] Speaker F: Next time I cast well of water. We're making it happen.
[00:27:53] Speaker D: I'm just, I'm just, I'm just picturing an otter with fucking Oscar Isaac's voice now being like, sup bruh?
[00:28:01] Speaker C: Make it happen.
[00:28:06] Speaker B: You guys head down this tunnel and as you get further in there is more and more clear evidence of somebody like living here. There are carvings on the walls, random drawings. There's like some more like small furniture as you're coming out that looks like it hasn't been used in like years.
A lot of like ripped up paper kind of lining the edges.
Seems like whoever lives here does not have a place to put all of their garbage. So they kind of put it like further up the tunnel every time. They have to deal with a lot of garbage. So there's a lot of broken stuff and a lot of pens or a.
[00:28:49] Speaker D: Lot of like glitch made fucking golems to hide the entrance or like to guard the entrance and couldn't be bothered to walk or just like magic away or garbage.
[00:29:04] Speaker B: That's.
Some of it is like burnt like There was an attempt to burn some of it, but some of it eventually was just like, nah, I don't care anymore. And is still intact. Although Typic pretty much ripped up.
[00:29:25] Speaker C: A.
[00:29:26] Speaker B: Lot of ink, a lot of paper, a lot of quills.
Especially you were. You walk forward further. It has flattened out at this point. So during all of this, you're walking on flat ground in this probably 20 foot tall cave, which is pretty dang big for a cave. And eventually you get into an area that seems to be more like you are starting to see some orange fire light in the distance. And as you move closer, there are some torches that automatically light themselves as you like walk past. Motion censored, basically.
And there is.
It just kind of ends in like a large semicircle at the end. So it's like nothing quite interesting at the end. It's just more cave. But like there's an end. It dead ends at one point.
And there is a tiefling woman who is. Who has her back turned towards you guys. And she seems to be like furiously writing something on a piece of paper.
Anyone want to jump in here before she notices you? Is there anything you want to look for or do?
[00:30:43] Speaker F: I would just like to have my hammer held in my hands.
[00:30:49] Speaker D: Okay. I'm glad I'm not the only one who was just like, I kind of want to hit her.
[00:30:53] Speaker F: Well, no, just wait. So set the vibe. And she's gonna kind of look to Melwyn. Like, I know you said you didn't want to lead us physically, but I'm gonna let you lead us in this conversationally.
[00:31:07] Speaker D: Melwyn's kind of taking a second to observe this woman's appearance. I know she can't see her face.
[00:31:14] Speaker B: But, you know, yeah, she looks a lot like you. There's. It's a similar color of skin with similar horn shape.
She has very long hair and a tail that's just kind of flicking back and forth weirdly. She even has like clothes similar to you, like style wise.
And yeah, I mean she. To the rest of the crew, it looks like If Melwyn was 20 years older and you saw her from the back and be like, oh, that. That's probably Melwyn.
[00:31:54] Speaker A: I'll stand to the side for Melwyn if he wants to approach, but stay kind of ready with my shield and my warp pick.
[00:32:02] Speaker E: You should probably clean up all the trash.
[00:32:08] Speaker B: She. She stops and like stiffens and doesn't turn around for a second and doesn't say anything for like an uncomfortable amount of time.
Yeah, probably.
Myla, you notice from Passive knowledge. There are a couple of like bosskite rods, like stuck in specific placements of the rock.
They look like spell conduits.
I don't. If you want to make an arcana check, you could try to find out like what they do exactly. But that's the basics of it.
[00:32:51] Speaker C: I mean, I would love to, if that's okay.
[00:32:54] Speaker B: Cool. Yeah, of course.
[00:32:56] Speaker C: 26.
[00:33:00] Speaker B: Jesus. These are casting a like.
I can't remember the name of the spell right now, but the like spell that makes you kind of untraceable or unfindable with divination magic.
I can't remember what that's called, but that's why the sending didn't work. When you tried to send her, it like bounced off because you can. And now that you're like looking for it, it's kind of like. It's like the force field in Hunger Games. It's like a little bit wavy and like now you can kind of hear the buzz a slight bit as it's just kind of casting this. It's like a sphere with a bunch of rods connecting all the spherical points together.
So you guys had passed into it like 10ft ago.
[00:33:50] Speaker C: Interesting.
[00:33:51] Speaker B: Alexia like slowly turns around.
[00:33:55] Speaker D: Non detection is the spell.
[00:33:58] Speaker B: Thank you. I was like there is a word for it. And I do not remember what the spell is called, but it exists out there. I know it does.
Thank you.
She turns around slowly. She's really like looking at the ground. She does not want to look at any.
[00:34:13] Speaker C: Anyone.
[00:34:16] Speaker B: What do you need from me?
[00:34:20] Speaker E: Answers mostly.
[00:34:22] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:34:24] Speaker E: You could start by looking at us and not at the floor.
[00:34:30] Speaker B: She kind of flicks her eyes upwards and back down and kind of does that intermittently.
Yeah.
[00:34:42] Speaker F: You are arcanist. Lexia.
[00:34:45] Speaker B: Yes, just Lexia.
[00:34:48] Speaker F: Just. Oh, sorry.
Great.
[00:34:51] Speaker B: Yes. But yes.
[00:34:56] Speaker F: Oh, well, my name's Auden. It's nice to meet you.
This is. This is Melwyn.
She like gestures.
[00:35:07] Speaker B: Yeah. Nice to meet you.
She's like looking back, really half hearted smile.
[00:35:14] Speaker F: Really trying to like encourage a spark conversation. That to us is very obvious. But she's like acknowledge.
[00:35:27] Speaker D: Melwyn just kind of blankly stares back at her.
[00:35:30] Speaker C: I'm Myla. I tried to send you a spell but like a sending spell. But I'm assuming that these things up here. And she sort of points at the boss guy. Rods or for the reason that I couldn't do that. So did you make those golems out there?
[00:35:45] Speaker B: Yeah, they're kind of a process.
[00:35:49] Speaker C: Oh well, they were.
We killed them. Sorry. I can help you make new ones if you Want stronger ones.
[00:35:55] Speaker D: To be fair, killing them was a process too.
[00:36:01] Speaker B: Yeah, maybe.
[00:36:03] Speaker C: This is Ed.
[00:36:06] Speaker A: Hello.
[00:36:07] Speaker C: And Arianada.
And Yarin.
[00:36:13] Speaker D: The most neurotypical party you will ever meet.
[00:36:16] Speaker B: Clearly, she squints a little at Yarin's existence and actually, Milo, you kind of see the same, like. And I don't. How you. How it feels for you. I'm unsure, but, like, you see the same little, like. I kind of want to figure out what that is that you. That you get all the time that you have constantly. It's like the same.
[00:36:38] Speaker C: Yeah, a.
[00:36:39] Speaker B: Same curiosity.
Nice to meet you. Are you.
You have questions. Are you gonna kill me after that? What? What's the deal? You take all my stuff. That's fine too.
[00:36:52] Speaker E: Are you gonna give us a reason to kill you?
[00:36:55] Speaker B: No.
[00:36:56] Speaker E: Then, no.
[00:36:59] Speaker B: About the best I could hope for.
[00:37:04] Speaker E: You don't know who I am, do you?
[00:37:08] Speaker B: I know who you are.
I don't.
You aren't really giving me any indication of how you feel about my existence, so kind of waiting for that.
[00:37:26] Speaker E: I feel like I should feel something.
[00:37:30] Speaker B: She's going to insight check.
It's. It's not good.
It's not. It's not, like, awful, but it's not good enough to, like, know anything important.
So you had questions?
[00:37:49] Speaker E: Every book we found about you, they keep erasing you.
Why is that?
[00:38:02] Speaker B: I don't really want. You know, they're kind of embarrassed about my existence.
[00:38:13] Speaker F: Why?
[00:38:15] Speaker B: Um.
Yeah, I did some things the assembly didn't like, so.
[00:38:23] Speaker E: Oh, we know. We knew that much.
[00:38:28] Speaker B: Yeah. They don't want other people to find me and think that I'm gonna help them do the same or something. I don't know.
Pretty standard, actually.
[00:38:39] Speaker A: We don't really have any interest in fighting hell, so.
[00:38:48] Speaker B: Not that I wouldn't help you anyway.
[00:38:51] Speaker A: Got it. I'm just putting it out there that. That's not why we're.
[00:38:56] Speaker E: Didn't exactly go well for you the first time, did it?
[00:38:59] Speaker B: She looks kind of really bummed out at this.
[00:39:06] Speaker D: Melon. Being both intentionally and unintentionally extremely rude is very fun to play.
[00:39:17] Speaker E: Is that why you're hiding else?
[00:39:22] Speaker B: Well, I'm pretty sure if I. I don't think I'm hiding very well. I'm fairly confident that if the assembly wanted to find me, they already would have.
Now I'm just hiding because I'm.
I don't know. They.
[00:39:42] Speaker C: No, you do know, or you wouldn't have started your sentence.
That's how grammar works.
[00:39:51] Speaker B: I mean, it's.
At this point, it's kind of embarrassing to have existed for so long and be in hiding. Because if I were out and about, people might know what I did and hate me even more. So it's really a preventative measure, I guess.
[00:40:20] Speaker C: Do they have a reason to hate you?
[00:40:23] Speaker B: I don't know. A lot of people have a lot of feelings about magic.
Especially magic they don't understand.
[00:40:34] Speaker F: Being in this cave for so long.
I'm guessing you really don't know what all is going on outside.
[00:40:47] Speaker B: I've heard. I've heard some things.
[00:40:50] Speaker F: Do you know about the guy that's making zombies and stuff?
[00:40:55] Speaker B: Yeah.
Didn't really know what to do about it. Any advice from me?
[00:41:06] Speaker F: You're powerful. You're long lived. You've seen a lot of stuff.
[00:41:11] Speaker B: I'm not. I'm not anymore.
I haven't met.
[00:41:15] Speaker F: You were once.
[00:41:18] Speaker B: That doesn't mean anything. That doesn't. That doesn't mean that I can do much now. Because I can't try anything. I can't test anything unless I get someone to write it down for me. And very few people are willing to do those things, especially for more complex magic.
[00:41:43] Speaker C: Then why are you. Why are you under the Institute then? Like, why here?
That doesn't make any sense. If you're hiding and because you can't do magic. Also, no offense, like. Lovely meeting you. We're not here for your magic. We're here because Melwyn is very powerful. And we're trying to understand if there's other ways to help her come to her full potential.
No offense, like genuinely.
[00:42:13] Speaker B: Why am I under the Institute? Yeah. I designed it. And now it's.
I was trying to learn things, but now it doesn't exist. Really?
[00:42:27] Speaker E: So how do you know what's going on outside?
[00:42:31] Speaker B: Um.
My.
The best success I had with Alchemy, I guess, if I.
It's hard. I can't. I don't have any innate magic anymore. But I can utilize magic that already exists in the world and try to reshape it. But that is a whole different thing than having your own magic.
But I. I spent a really long time. I made some.
I made some like little birds.
And they fly around and they can. They listen to things.
[00:43:19] Speaker E: You made and.
[00:43:20] Speaker B: Then they come back.
[00:43:21] Speaker E: That.
[00:43:24] Speaker B: Yeah.
Does that. Is that important or something?
[00:43:30] Speaker E: No. Just weird.
[00:43:35] Speaker B: Okay. Sorry.
I guess it's the easiest way to get around honestly having wings.
[00:43:44] Speaker C: Can I try to. Sleight of hand cast enhanceability on wisdom for id. I don't want her to know.
[00:43:53] Speaker B: Sure.
She is gonna roll on this because she's really on edge at the moment.
[00:44:00] Speaker E: I don't like this.
[00:44:01] Speaker C: That's fine.
[00:44:04] Speaker B: What's your sleight of hand?
[00:44:06] Speaker C: I got a 27.
[00:44:10] Speaker B: Okay, sure. Yeah.
You don't think she sees?
[00:44:18] Speaker C: And I'm just gonna. As I sort of like ID like you feel a very like, slight jolt on like the corner of like your shoulder as Myla just like lightly taps you and casts that. And Milo, just going to say is, can you check on what she's saying and doing, please? If it's true.
[00:44:43] Speaker A: I'll try to make an insight check. Just like thinking about everything that she said. Like, is she being shady about it? Does she.
I can't tell if she actually knows who Melwyn is.
[00:44:55] Speaker D: Yeah, I think she thinks we're about to jump her.
[00:44:58] Speaker A: Yeah. I think there's a lot going on here and it. Yeah, it just wants to figure it out.
[00:45:05] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:45:07] Speaker A: Oh, man. Total of 15.
[00:45:11] Speaker C: Flasher genius. 20 a.
[00:45:16] Speaker B: She does know who Melwen is. She's fairly convinced that Melwen, she. She actually knows that Melwyn has every reason to like, hate her. So she's waiting for like the ball to drop. Like, she sees her daughter backed up by like three very capable people and she's like, I. I'm pretty sure that if they. If she said anything to them, they would attack me and I would basically be able to do nothing about it.
[00:45:47] Speaker D: Curbs bitch.
[00:45:50] Speaker B: She has a little bit of like, I would probably deserve it energy.
Everything she's said so far has been truthful. She's not hiding anything. She's just not elaborating on shit because she's embarrassed about it or she is like, worried that she'll say the wrong thing. But everything she said has been true.
Does that answer your question?
[00:46:20] Speaker A: Yeah, I think it puts away his warpick and says we came back here once earlier trying to be curious and faced.
I mean, it was a literal burning building.
We're not here to do that.
[00:46:47] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:46:50] Speaker A: We just want to learn and talk.
[00:46:53] Speaker D: I never really realized how much like a not very emotive child could be very unsettling until this actually.
[00:47:04] Speaker B: Okay, we can sit if you want. She kind of gestures to like she's made some floor chairs for herself, like weird beanbags kind of deal.
[00:47:18] Speaker D: Oh. Just gestures just the right amount of pathetic that it's.
[00:47:23] Speaker F: Adam will sit on one.
[00:47:25] Speaker A: Yeah. It takes off his shield and sets it against the wall and goes and sits on a bean bag. And he doesn't like it when it's too soft.
[00:47:34] Speaker B: Yeah. You're like awkwardly too far into it.
[00:47:37] Speaker A: Yeah. And also, sitting on a beanbag in armor. Sounds horrible.
[00:47:40] Speaker D: Oh, dude, you just sink right in.
[00:47:43] Speaker B: Because everything, like, shoves upwards. So now all of your armor's, like, up by your ears.
God, she's like, we can.
[00:47:54] Speaker D: Beautiful amount of pathetic. I'm sorry.
Just in sinking into a fucking.
[00:48:03] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:48:06] Speaker B: All right, sounds good then. We'll talk to Alexi more next time. Thanks for listening. Goodbye.
[00:48:15] Speaker C: Oh, my gosh. Wait, is that a microphone? Hang on one second. Oh, my gosh. I always wanted to be on a podcast. Wait, hang on.
