[00:00:18] Speaker A: Sure. Okay. All right, here's my intro. So I've been. I've been talking to people on Hinge occasionally, because when. What the hell else am I supposed to do in the middle of nowhere? So, like, every so often I'll just. I'll get on Hinge and, like, see if anyone matches with me. And this girl matched with me. And we're talking, and we were talking about. I was like, are you a book person? Like a movie person? A show person? Like, you know, like, what kind of media do you consume? We were talking about this, and I said, actually, I really like. I like having, like, YouTube streams or, like, stream VODs in the background because it's super long, so I don't have to, like, change videos every so often. And it's really easy to, like, tune in and out. So that's what I do during work typically, is like, stream VODs. And she was like, yeah, I've been trying to, like, listen to different stuff on Spotify, but I just like, I. I really can't listen to, like. I've been trying to listen to D and D content, but I really hate Spotify. And I was like, that's really freaking funny because I do make a DND podcast. But also, I do not blame you because I have to listen to. And you have to, like, pay attention for D D podcasts. Like, I mean, you don't have to, I guess, but you'd come in. In, like, random places and not know what's going on. That's the best part. [00:01:44] Speaker B: If you're listening to this Hinge girl, this one's for you. [00:01:50] Speaker A: We're making this one extra long. [00:01:52] Speaker C: I'm just kidding. [00:01:53] Speaker A: No, I'm joking. [00:01:55] Speaker D: And then you listen to, like, early episodes of stuff like the Adventure Zone, where the context was thrown out the window before the session even began. [00:02:03] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. [00:02:05] Speaker D: Or even some episodes of Fantasy High. Like, I've been rewatching junior year recently, and I don't what the fuck is happening in some of those episodes. [00:02:16] Speaker C: Yes, I. [00:02:18] Speaker D: Even the one that you, me and Ben watched when we were in slc, Right? [00:02:23] Speaker A: The. [00:02:24] Speaker D: Like, the one or two episodes that we watched. I didn't remember watching those. When I got to them, I was like, we definitely watched this because it's. Mark has watched. I don't remember what happened. [00:02:35] Speaker C: You don't have to. It's just about the vibes in the moment. And you gotta. [00:02:39] Speaker D: Thanks. To feel thrown out the window and buried in a ditch, man. [00:02:43] Speaker A: I don't know what to tell you, truly. I was like, I bet DD podcasts would be really funny if you just clip together like a 10 second clip from every like 20 minutes, just back to back. It's like, that would be really funny. [00:02:58] Speaker D: The funniest thing about that is, depending on the podcast, you've missed nothing. Exactly. [00:03:03] Speaker A: Right? It depends. [00:03:07] Speaker D: That's not a criticism. That just means you're very funny consistently. And the vibes are just going. [00:03:13] Speaker B: You're just bitten all over the place. [00:03:16] Speaker C: Speaking of the vibes being good consistently on podcast media, specifically D and D actor plays. Hi. [00:03:26] Speaker B: Where are you going with this, Jay? [00:03:28] Speaker C: We went down a journey path. It's fine. [00:03:31] Speaker B: A journey path. [00:03:31] Speaker D: A journey path. [00:03:32] Speaker A: A journey path. [00:03:33] Speaker B: My favorite kinds of paths. [00:03:34] Speaker C: It's not. [00:03:35] Speaker D: It's a. [00:03:35] Speaker C: Because there's like paths that are like journey paths and then there's paths that are destination paths. This was a journey path. Two different things. [00:03:43] Speaker B: I see. God, that's good. I like that. [00:03:46] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:03:46] Speaker E: So it's like one of those where it like goes around in a loop and then you go back out right where you came. [00:03:51] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah, exactly. [00:03:52] Speaker A: Yeah. It's like a Zen guard. Yeah. Yeah. [00:03:55] Speaker C: So. Because if there's one thing, this is like a labyrinth and chill all of the time. [00:04:01] Speaker A: Yeah, Incredibly so. Constantly. Speaking of, we're at the table where everyone. Where Myla is like tense energy. So, anyway, welcome to Spells and whistles, where a 5e DND podcast. And my recap is that last session was a lot of talking and lore drops. And if you want to hear those, then you should go listen to the last episode because it's good content, but it is hard to recap without just doing the episode again. So go listen to it. [00:04:31] Speaker D: Go from one. Go from one, everybody. [00:04:38] Speaker B: Scene. [00:04:40] Speaker A: Yeah. You guys are at the table. Dinner's finishing up. It sounds like you want to use Ari's wish spell to potentially solve whatever is going on with Ed's time bomb in his chest. Were we actually. [00:04:57] Speaker D: I don't remember if we were actually going to try that or not, because that was like. It's not really smaller scale. It's Melwyn's definition. What was smaller scale. So. Which are two different things, unfortunately. [00:05:12] Speaker B: Real small scale would be like, I wish Brussels sprouts weren't disgusting. [00:05:16] Speaker D: Or like something. Yeah. Melon only thought it was a smaller scale because she could fix it if it fucks them up. [00:05:24] Speaker B: I think that's a good rationale. Like, for real, like. [00:05:30] Speaker A: As a. This is actually a good time to talk about it as a homebrew rule. I have decided to use rules similar to teleportation with the wish spell because I think it's cool and I gave my players a wish spell. But I also don't think it's interesting if the podcast ends with a wish spell. So instead we are using wish, but where I. Where I assume the correct intention that they are trying to achieve, but they will have to roll to assess how well the result is achieved. So that's what we're going to be using for this campaign. If you have a problem with it, too bad. [00:06:10] Speaker D: I will say, depending on how we do it, the final wi, like the podcast. Ending on a wish could be insanely funny. [00:06:17] Speaker A: It could be really cool. It could be really fun. It could be really cool. But, you know, we're not gonna do that in terms of like, like, no more content. We're done. [00:06:29] Speaker B: We did it random Thursday evening. It's over. [00:06:35] Speaker C: I do think it's important to note that we as players know this. Our characters do not. [00:06:41] Speaker A: Yes. Yes. [00:06:43] Speaker C: Right. In fact, I don't think our characters know what a wish spell is. [00:06:49] Speaker D: We're aware that, like, people make wishes and powerful things have happened in the Wishing Tree. [00:06:55] Speaker A: The Wishing Tree. [00:06:56] Speaker D: The Wishing Tree that didn't actually grant any wishes and that we. A thousand wishes. [00:07:01] Speaker C: We didn't try. [00:07:02] Speaker D: Trespassed on. [00:07:04] Speaker A: We didn't try it again. That's true. I don't think you tried. [00:07:07] Speaker D: We didn't. You're correct. [00:07:08] Speaker B: I guess we have to go back. [00:07:10] Speaker A: Oh, no. [00:07:11] Speaker B: I jest. I jest. [00:07:13] Speaker A: You are in the same city currently as the trees still, I think so. [00:07:17] Speaker D: Anyway. [00:07:18] Speaker A: The wish changes are basically a mechanical reflection of the fact that Ari might not be able to cast it perfectly because she is a 14 and B has two souls inside of her. So, you know, it might not go perfectly every time. [00:07:38] Speaker C: I. I mean, I just wanted to hop back into it if you guys are okay with that. If the. [00:07:43] Speaker A: We have Back into it. [00:07:45] Speaker C: I think. I think Myla was just scolded by Melwyn and Ari. People who are almost not just mellon. No, Ari said something too. [00:07:59] Speaker A: Did she? [00:07:59] Speaker B: Oh, shoot. [00:08:00] Speaker C: Oh, yes. Oh, yes. So I think Milo's going to look at these two, and I think that she's actually. I don't think she realizes it, but she's going to stand up and just sort of like, rest her hands on the table. So she's kind of like leaning on one foot and hunched on it, and she is going to look Ari dead in the eyes and she's going to say, if you can't do anything with it, give it to Somebody who will. [00:08:28] Speaker B: I don't think it works like that, Marla. [00:08:31] Speaker C: Why not wish it? [00:08:39] Speaker A: I don't. I don't really think it's up to me. [00:08:44] Speaker C: Hmm. I think you can do whatever you want. Right? You have the power, right? You're the chosen one, right? [00:08:56] Speaker A: Don't know. I. I don't. I don't know. You're the one that talked to whoever. [00:09:08] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:09:09] Speaker A: I can't even. [00:09:11] Speaker C: You can't what? [00:09:19] Speaker A: Nothing. [00:09:26] Speaker C: Milo will sit back down. [00:09:29] Speaker B: I think this is something that's new for all of us. It's something that we don't understand yet. So, proceeding with caution, she kind of looks towards Ari and, you know, nods. Is it sensible thing to do? I think. And maybe we can get to the point where those bigger steps can happen, but I don't know if there's something new and different. It's. It's. You've got to experiment. She kind of looks over to, like, Myla, like, hey, you like that? And, you know, test some things out and, you know, we. It's not always wise to just jump into the thick of it. That can sometimes cause more problems, is all that. I think I like Mellie's idea of taking it slow little steps. I think that's a great plan. And as you sort of learn how to do this more and all that, Ari, it might be something that you feel more comfortable with. [00:10:52] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:10:54] Speaker F: I think the better question is, what do you want to do, Ahri? [00:10:59] Speaker A: She kind of like, not glares at Myla, but just is, like, hesitancy. [00:11:07] Speaker D: No, you're allowed to glare at Myla right now. That's fair there. [00:11:11] Speaker C: Myla's just staring back. [00:11:14] Speaker A: Don't know. I thought you guys were going to help. Like, looks at Myla. [00:11:19] Speaker C: Tell me what you want to do, then. [00:11:21] Speaker A: Instead, you're just yelling at me, so. [00:11:23] Speaker C: No, I'm asking what you. I'm asking what the plan is, because not using this power does not make any sense. So if we want to take it. I'm not saying slow and experiment, then fine. Let's come up with a plan. [00:11:39] Speaker A: Great. That's not what it sounded like. [00:11:43] Speaker D: That one kind of shrugs like she's got a point. [00:11:48] Speaker C: I think that Myla's saying this through gritted teeth. And I think that whoever's sitting on either side of her can probably see that her hands are under the table, but they're, like, shaking on top of her legs. She's going to look at Ari and she's going to say, I'm not going to say that. I'm sorry. Because that would be a lie. You said I don't know a lot. And having this sort of power does not lend well to uncertainty. So let's come up with something and let's execute it. But it cannot go unused. [00:12:31] Speaker A: Fine. What do you want? I don't need anything right now, really. So I guess you tell me. [00:12:40] Speaker C: Well, apparently what I want is too big. [00:12:45] Speaker A: Myla, I don't want to explode, okay? That's it. I really just. I don't want to die. I don't want to kill a bunch of people on accident. I don't know what the fuck's going to happen if something goes wrong. What am I supposed to do about it? I can't fix it for a week. Do you get that? I'm trying to be careful with a thing I don't know anything about. I don't know anybody at this table knows anything about. [00:13:18] Speaker C: Myla just sits there. [00:13:23] Speaker B: Auden's gonna look over to. Oh, sorry. [00:13:27] Speaker A: You go for it. [00:13:28] Speaker B: I was just gonna say Auden's gonna look over to ID who in the past has been the Ari and Myla buddy, and just kind of like, with her eyeballs, convey a message of like, she's gonna. [00:13:45] Speaker D: You know how to deal with them, please. [00:13:47] Speaker B: She's trying to send him a message via esp, but she's just kind. Staring very intently at him, like, eyes wide. Kind of like flicking her eyes over to Myla and then over to Ari. [00:14:01] Speaker E: ID looks down at his third bowl of soup and goes, what? It's just bowl number three. Is that too many? [00:14:13] Speaker B: Odin's shaking her head and making like the hand across them, like, no, no. [00:14:18] Speaker E: I need to do more. [00:14:19] Speaker B: No, no. Do you want another roll with it too? [00:14:25] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:14:27] Speaker B: Odin kind of like throws a roll over toward ID. [00:14:34] Speaker D: Fucking brilliant. [00:14:36] Speaker E: I. Well, the thing. It's not going to come back for a week. We better choose something good. So what about. Can I have a piece of paper maybe as. [00:14:52] Speaker B: As the wish. [00:14:53] Speaker E: No. [00:14:54] Speaker B: Oh. [00:14:55] Speaker A: What? Okay, I was a little worried. [00:14:59] Speaker D: With a piece of paper, it's slightly unclear, old source. [00:15:04] Speaker B: A piece of paper from somewhere. [00:15:06] Speaker D: Mellon will go grab one of the surveys that doesn't have anything on the back and give it to ID it. [00:15:15] Speaker E: Will tear it up and give everybody a piece and say something low key, that is helpful and good and low key. [00:15:27] Speaker B: And we are writing our answer. Yeah. [00:15:31] Speaker E: And then tomorrow we put it in a bowl and we pick one. [00:15:36] Speaker D: Oh, my God. [00:15:38] Speaker E: Low key and helpful. It seems like that is what everybody wants. We don't want to destroy the entire World. We don't want to risk anything super bad happening, but it should have an impact. [00:15:53] Speaker F: Okay, but what qualifies as though key? [00:15:59] Speaker E: Let's say affecting a maximum of 10 people directly. [00:16:04] Speaker A: Well, are you talking like, in total or like, what if it direct people afterwards? [00:16:11] Speaker D: Direct blow up the building. [00:16:14] Speaker A: No. [00:16:15] Speaker B: Butterfly effect. [00:16:19] Speaker E: For example, ID writes down orphanage down the street gets free food for the month and puts it in the bowl. [00:16:31] Speaker D: That's cute. [00:16:32] Speaker E: I counted. There's eight kids and one adult there. Max 10 people. Good impact. Low key. [00:16:40] Speaker B: Oven scribbles down on her paper. [00:16:44] Speaker D: See, the more that Ben repeats low key, the less I think that's a low key option. [00:16:48] Speaker B: But it will affect one person. [00:16:52] Speaker D: I know. That's why it counts, technically. [00:16:55] Speaker B: But Auden will write on her paper secretively that nobody else can see. But I'm sharing it with everybody here and also you all at home. You're so welcome, Fidz fix. All right, let's all make fun of Meg for it was cute. I know. I'm just teasing. Auden writes, fix ed's choice. Oh, my gosh. With Ed. [00:17:26] Speaker D: You'Ve been replaced. [00:17:29] Speaker B: That's the side effect of not casting it perfectly. His name has always been ed. She writes IDs chest compartment. Permanent, permanent, permanent. And she's misspells permanently a couple times before crossing it out and writing forever. [00:17:46] Speaker A: Pregnant can get pregant. [00:17:54] Speaker D: I love that video so much. [00:17:58] Speaker C: See, I feel like it'd be fun if we read off whoever's gets picked and then we can say what the rest of ours are. [00:18:08] Speaker A: Oh. [00:18:11] Speaker C: I wrote mine down in the back of my notebook so it's written all right. In pen. [00:18:17] Speaker A: Well, now that feels cool. [00:18:19] Speaker B: For writing mine out loud for whatever. [00:18:25] Speaker A: We can edit it so the audience will never know. [00:18:28] Speaker F: Nobody needs to know. [00:18:32] Speaker B: Unless it gets picked. [00:18:33] Speaker D: Does Nadia have anything to add to this conversation at all, whatsoever, or is she just, like, dying? She's on couch right now. [00:18:44] Speaker A: Like, free insight. She's like, I don't know, man. I got no powers. They're, like, nice enough to let me stay here and crash, so I'm not gonna say anything that's gonna get me kicked out of the inn, which is currently the only place I have to, like, exist. I mean, to be fair. Also, somebody made food, so I'm excited about that. We wouldn't kick with that. [00:19:03] Speaker D: Oh, yeah. Melvin would bring her as many bowls of soup as she fucking wants, especially if she can't get up. [00:19:08] Speaker A: She doesn't eat a ton of them, but she just. No, she's fine. She's just like, really? She's still pretty tired, but yeah, she's been listening and not saying anything. Yarn is upset that he doesn't get a piece of paper. [00:19:24] Speaker D: Melwyn will split hers with him. [00:19:26] Speaker A: Oh, okay. [00:19:30] Speaker D: He doesn't need that big of a scrap. [00:19:34] Speaker A: He turns himself. He turns himself into a piece of charcoal that has like nub arms and legs and just shuffles around on his like two feet on the paper to like write out words. It's spelled really wrong. And can he write and write? You know, like, not really, but it's kind of like the like 5 year olds trying to write where they write? I don't know, they write ha, like have. And it's. It's just H, a V or like. I think. I think my sister once spelled what, like W U T? Because that's what it sounds like, right? What? Remember stuff like that where he's. Yeah. [00:20:12] Speaker D: Remember how in shifting gears we said if Melvin had a pet, Mellon would just have a yar in I. I feel like that is becoming more and more valid now. [00:20:21] Speaker B: You manifested this. [00:20:26] Speaker A: So it's. It's going to be very obvious which one his is the biggest for sure. [00:20:32] Speaker C: I think after Myla is done writing on her piece of paper, she's going to fold it up, put it at the center of the table, is going to slightly scoot her bowl back, which is gone. She's going to turn to Melwin and she's going to say, that was very yummy soup. Thank you for making it. And then she's going to turn over and she says, I am going to go to the library for a bit. And then she is going to grab her bag from the room and start heading towards the library. [00:21:03] Speaker A: I will note that last session I did say the library was like closing in about half an hour when you guys were walking there with Ari. Okay. Just letting you know. [00:21:12] Speaker C: Absolutely. [00:21:13] Speaker D: She's not an issue. She's a criminal. She'll just break in. It's fine. [00:21:17] Speaker C: Oh, I've done it before. [00:21:18] Speaker A: I'll do it again. No, that's fine. Okay. Anyone else want to do anything with the evening? [00:21:24] Speaker D: Can Melon sleight of hand move Yarn's paper into her bag instead of into our little pile? [00:21:34] Speaker A: Yeah, Rose, light of hand. [00:21:36] Speaker D: She's like, this isn't gonna be helpful. Why is this what I. Okay. First roll of the session is an 18. [00:21:44] Speaker B: Heck yeah. [00:21:46] Speaker A: Okay, well, Yaron doesn't notice. [00:21:49] Speaker D: Yeah, Melvin just kind of sweeps. [00:21:50] Speaker A: Do you want to know what it says to her pocket? [00:21:52] Speaker D: Yes, please. [00:21:56] Speaker A: He Just it. Just when you sound it out, it says, I want to be a bigger leaf. [00:22:02] Speaker D: I think anybody. Anybody that looks at Melwen as she's, like, kind of sweeping this paper off of the table into her bag, she just kind of has like, a kind of moment. She doesn't. She doesn't feel disappointment. She doesn't have that. But she does just kind of stare at it like, okay, yeah, checks out. [00:22:24] Speaker C: Can he not just turn into a bigger leaf? Can he not just turn into a bigger leaf? [00:22:31] Speaker D: There's no logic in yarn. [00:22:33] Speaker A: He can be. He can be a leaf that is about 2ft by 2ft maybe, which is pretty big. [00:22:39] Speaker D: It's a big leaf. That's such a big leaf. Why is he such. [00:22:45] Speaker A: Why does he choose to be so small? Wait, he said. He said a bigger leaf, which you're not sure if that. I guess he. I mean, is he a leaf? I think as a player, you don't know. You don't know if he means a bigger leaf that he can turn into or a bigger leaf than the biggest leaf he can be, you know? Sure. [00:23:05] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:23:05] Speaker C: I got you. [00:23:07] Speaker A: I just got you. [00:23:11] Speaker C: Right on your end with it. [00:23:13] Speaker A: You don't know. I don't think you know. You can't tell. [00:23:20] Speaker D: This little creatures. We're gonna get him killed, and I'm gonna feel so bad, you know? [00:23:26] Speaker B: Ribbon? [00:23:28] Speaker C: Yes. [00:23:30] Speaker B: If it's between me and Yarin, save me, please. [00:23:35] Speaker D: I was gonna say, if it's between you and Yarin, it's. You. Save me, please. [00:23:42] Speaker A: All right. Anything else with the evening? [00:23:45] Speaker E: It takes the bowl full of papers back to his room and turns it upside down so that nobody, like, tries to add more or, like, mess with it. [00:23:55] Speaker D: Okay. [00:23:56] Speaker A: I don't think you have a room, so it's just in the living room. [00:23:58] Speaker E: He puts it on a coffee table. [00:24:01] Speaker A: Great. [00:24:01] Speaker D: Just turns it upside down. [00:24:03] Speaker A: Sweet. [00:24:05] Speaker B: Sorry. I'm gonna hop in real fast. I think Auden will also kind of assist with the cleanup. And I think she's gonna do the thing that she always ends up doing and just talks and yaps and tries to, like, diffuse the tension by just being like. There's one time when I was at home and I was carrying this really big rock just for fun and just kind of. And go and go and just something that doesn't have any greater, deeper meaning at all, but just to, like, she's. [00:24:33] Speaker D: Uncomfortable with her extroverse. [00:24:36] Speaker B: And we'll just talk and talk and talk until for sure it's all clean. And then I think she'll do her Little evening, stretchy, like yoga flow kind of thing, before she just kind of tucks herself away for the night. [00:24:52] Speaker A: Sweet. What are you doing towards the library, Myla? [00:24:57] Speaker C: Myla is going to break into the library. Duh, it's closed. She's gonna go to any books. I think she's there for a few hours. She's going to quietly but intently and analytically look for any books that might have anything about a wishing spell, anything about the wishing tree, anything about reincarnation and specifically the distribution of magic amongst people and amongst colors. Basically, we don't have to go into any of the research because all she's doing is she's finding the sections. She's tearing the pages out of the book, putting the book back and shoving it in her bag, just in quiet but calculated theory, as she's looking for any information she can find about this stronger arcana, the wish spell. And I know that we've already looked about the arcanist, but she does so again because she only trusts her own eyes at this point. And she's just ripping the few pages out she needs. She's placing them nicely into her bag, and she's putting the book back on the shelf exactly where she got it. So I think there's probably unfortunately, like six or seven books across this that are like, slightly defaced. And once she has it all, she is going to re. Lock the door and leave and head back. [00:26:37] Speaker A: Okay, are you looking at. Are you reading any of it? [00:26:41] Speaker C: When she gets back to the. I think she's sort of like very lightly skimming it. And then when she gets back to the room, or I guess to the suite or whatever, she'll go into whatever bedroom there is. I think there's two bedrooms. Go into the one that she's staying in, and she will take the surveys and just shove them under the bed and she'll lay the papers out in very neat stacks that correspond to what each of them deal with. And she'll start reading them one at a time, taking notes, going into her notebook, drawing things, writing down notes, and. [00:27:28] Speaker A: Okay, I will let you pick. Are you in a room with Auden, Ari, or Melwyn Yarin? [00:27:38] Speaker D: Please be Auden. Please be Auden. [00:27:41] Speaker C: Yeah, I don't. I think she's mad at Yarin for wanting to be a part of the decision making, honestly. And she doesn't want to be a part of a room with Ari in it. So I do think that it's the room with Auden in it. Just from natural light. [00:28:00] Speaker D: Okay, kids room. Let's go. [00:28:04] Speaker B: Kids are going crazy. [00:28:07] Speaker A: What's your passive perception? [00:28:10] Speaker B: A good question. [00:28:12] Speaker D: Kid's room with grandpa ID by the door. [00:28:16] Speaker A: 11. If you want to be stealthy about this and not wake odd enough, I would like you to roll for it. But you just have to beat an 11. [00:28:25] Speaker C: So I just need to not roll a one. [00:28:28] Speaker B: Okay. [00:28:30] Speaker C: Which is a 16. A four plus 12. [00:28:33] Speaker A: Okay, great. You are pretty good at keeping the paper rustling to a minimum. Is there anything you want me to answer for you right now? All of it. Some of it. It can be all of it. That's super. [00:28:53] Speaker C: I think. I mean, if base. I think basically what I would want to know as like a player is if there's anything Myla can glean about the wish spell and the utilization of it. That's not what's in, like, the core D and D rulebook that, like, I personally wouldn't already know that. I think that's all that I feel the need to hear right now. Some of it might come into play later, but it's. It's mainly just to be like, hey, in the event that this happens, I did some research. Can I just use that to help me with this role? That's mainly my, like, my goal as a player is like, to have like, something that might be able to assist me later on. [00:29:33] Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Just so that I'm on the same page, I think that it still pretty much applies to from last session that the most that you know about a wish spell, like, it's not even said much as a capital wish. There are a couple, like, stories about people making wishes, right? Like lowercase W, but then having like, global impact. But pretty much for the most part, you've just found a pattern of. Okay. Over the, you know, centuries, there have been a couple of events in which either something like massive happened overnight or something huge happened and then was like, immediately reversed. That is also the case sometimes, but mostly legend. It's just not a very common thing. But what you are noticing is that it only happens about once every 200 years maybe. [00:30:42] Speaker C: Okay. [00:30:43] Speaker A: Which could possibly line up with the idea of the reincarnation of Rasha that like, as you say that it. It's possible that it in theory, like the quill says you can use the wish spell once a week, but the. You are only seeing evidence of these things happening once every like 200 years. Which is confusing. Like, why, if you have this thing once a week, would you only use it once? Right. So there's that to consider as well. [00:31:18] Speaker C: Is there any notes about what colors of magic the wish spell is? [00:31:26] Speaker A: It depends. It can change depending on like what happens and what people wish for. It's not one specific color, but is rather player information. Maybe not quite as Myla knowledge, but like I guess. I guess you could probably deduce as Myla as well. But like the wish spell comes more from the original like strand of magic that you kind of saw with Arcanist Willow when she was like untangling things. It seems to come from like the, you know, like the kind of combination of all the magic that's like white light sort of looking and then versus like being a specific color in these events that have happened in the past. It's likely that like, you know, the massive storms that wiped out Tetros are probably green. Right. Because that's like a nature type magic. So it was probably like mostly green in the way that it manifested. But it's not. The wish spell is not inherently one color. [00:32:38] Speaker C: Okay. [00:32:39] Speaker A: Yes. [00:32:41] Speaker D: Once Melwyn and Ari are in their little room, now that we've established that there is a kid's room and Myla and Odin, I think Melon will kind of like hesitantly look at Ari for a little bit and then go. [00:33:00] Speaker F: Would you be alright if I talk to Rasha for a bit? [00:33:05] Speaker A: No, that's. That's fine. I don't really. [00:33:10] Speaker F: Well, because it's probably scary that you don't really have like memory of what happened when we're talking to her. [00:33:20] Speaker A: It's okay. [00:33:21] Speaker F: Are you sure? [00:33:23] Speaker A: Yeah, I just. I don't know how to, you know, I don't know how to have her show up without asking questions. [00:33:30] Speaker F: Yeah, that is. [00:33:30] Speaker A: Ari says that and then immediately like blanks out and Raja appears. [00:33:35] Speaker F: I was about to say that is a bit weird, but I suppose that answered my question. As if it needed to be a question. Alright. [00:33:46] Speaker A: I can hear you. [00:33:48] Speaker F: Oh. [00:33:51] Speaker A: Huh. What would you like to know? [00:33:55] Speaker F: A few things. Why do you know so much about us? [00:34:01] Speaker A: As the creator of this world, I know everything. [00:34:08] Speaker F: Yeah, that's a bit weird. That makes sense. But it's a bit weird. [00:34:13] Speaker A: She squints her eyes a little bit. Like confused by the idea. [00:34:19] Speaker F: Because that means you know stuff that we don't even know about ourselves. [00:34:25] Speaker A: Yes. [00:34:26] Speaker F: Crazy. I guess you are like a God. So never mind. That's less weird now that I think about it that way. [00:34:35] Speaker A: Kind of scrunches her nose a little bit. [00:34:38] Speaker F: Am I wrong? [00:34:40] Speaker A: Kind of. I suppose you could consider me a God, but I don't believe myself to be. [00:34:53] Speaker F: Well, okay. Interesting. So you know Everything about us. Right. Like, everything. [00:35:06] Speaker A: In fact. [00:35:08] Speaker F: What happened in that tavern. [00:35:13] Speaker A: I assume you are discussing the one you were trapped in. [00:35:21] Speaker F: Yes. [00:35:26] Speaker A: The being you encountered made choices and you were the consequences. [00:35:40] Speaker F: I don't. That's not. Okay, that's not really an answer. Like, specifically what actually happened? [00:35:51] Speaker A: You were removed from this plane and placed in a demiplane and that resembled the place you had last been. And that dummy plane existed for this world's two years, but was out of time. Otherwise. You know the rest. [00:36:22] Speaker D: I have a question for Anastasia. I have a question for Anastasia and not. I have a question for God and not God. [00:36:31] Speaker B: Important distinction there. [00:36:33] Speaker D: So that the people have no idea. So. [00:36:40] Speaker F: So. [00:36:40] Speaker D: So, Right. The information that we got about Lex. Lex. Lexia. Right. Okay, cool. The information that we got about Lexia. One of the things that was listed when Ari gave us that whole. Well, when Rasha gave us that whole big list, was that she had one daughter. How common knowledge is that? Because Melon immediately went to the library with Auden and you said she basically got all of the same information. So is it common knowledge that Lexia had a child and then disappeared? Or is it just like. [00:37:13] Speaker A: I mean, common knowledge? [00:37:15] Speaker D: I need to ask. [00:37:16] Speaker A: Common knowledge is relative because there's not much known about Lexia. Right. Like, yeah. And everything you found in the library was like, her name was blacked out. So even if someone read it, they'd be like, okay, there's no way of. [00:37:34] Speaker D: Knowing if that's her. [00:37:35] Speaker A: Like, censored, had a daughter. Right. Like, I have no clue who that is. Okay, so common knowledge is relative because it's like, kinda. But you really had to look for it, and nobody would know who this is unless they were either, A, the one that crossed it out, B, told who it was. Yeah, those are pretty much it, right? Or C, figured it out on their own. Does that answer your question? [00:37:59] Speaker D: It does, actually. Thank you. [00:38:01] Speaker A: Okay. Yeah. [00:38:05] Speaker F: So did that thing know that Lexia was my birth mother or. [00:38:17] Speaker A: Yes. [00:38:17] Speaker F: Oh. So is that why. [00:38:21] Speaker A: I believe so. [00:38:22] Speaker F: Oh. Do you know where she is? [00:38:28] Speaker A: No. [00:38:32] Speaker F: I thought you knew everything. [00:38:36] Speaker A: I have predictive guesses. [00:38:40] Speaker F: Do you think if we do this. Because we might not. Do you think we could actually fix our friend's heart machine thing if we. If we used the wish or. [00:39:04] Speaker A: Seems possible. [00:39:06] Speaker F: Okay, well, possible and accidentally killing our friend because of curiosity is very, very, very different. So. [00:39:15] Speaker A: That is also a possibility. [00:39:17] Speaker F: Great. Cool. [00:39:19] Speaker A: I can't. I cannot see the future. [00:39:21] Speaker F: I understand that, but you came in all like, I know everything about everything, and yet for somebody who says they know everything? You don't give a lot of answers to things. [00:39:35] Speaker A: I'm sorry you feel that way. [00:39:39] Speaker D: Damn. Such a white man answer. Sorry. [00:39:42] Speaker A: Sorry. It was bad to say, but I was like, I think I've given explanatory answers. [00:39:52] Speaker F: You've given answers. That's something for sure. [00:39:56] Speaker A: Then I don't see the problem. [00:39:57] Speaker F: I don't know how I feel about your answers, but I'm also. Well, that's complicated. [00:40:03] Speaker A: That is not of my purview. [00:40:04] Speaker F: I'm aware. [00:40:07] Speaker A: Then you are upset about your feelings of the answers and not the answers themselves. [00:40:12] Speaker F: No, because I don't have feelings about the answers. [00:40:17] Speaker A: Then I don't understand why you are upset about the answer. [00:40:21] Speaker F: Go back to sleep. Let me have my friend back. [00:40:23] Speaker A: If there is nothing else. [00:40:24] Speaker F: Yeah. Goodbye. [00:40:26] Speaker A: She just phases out. Ari's kind of like falling asleep already. Like she, sorry she was out. And then she comes back and is like, good night. [00:40:41] Speaker F: Good night. Sorry. [00:40:44] Speaker A: She's like lazily waves a hand. [00:40:49] Speaker D: That one's gonna flop back. Like she was wildly unhelpful. Okay. Grace thinks the answers were very helpful, but Melwyn is. Melwyn's a child. [00:40:59] Speaker B: She's in it and it's rough. [00:41:02] Speaker A: That's so fair. Id you have a mind flare dream in your. You have a Mind Flayer vision. More, it's a dream because it happens at night, but it's definitely a vision. But you are back in the like floating space with this like, quote unquote baby Mind Flayer, who is a little bit older. Like at this point you're not sure about the aging of Mind Flayers because why would you. But seems to be not as young as it was. And it just kind of reaches to your mind. I don't remember. I remember the Mind Flayer had like voice mod. I don't want to do that right now. If we want to do it later, I'll re record my lines with it. But it just says to your mind, I can't help you much more. This is all I have. And it just kind of shows you a like floating visual on the nothingness of space. And you first see Erendrill and then like a sort of like zoom out wide shot of this massive created army, like thousands of people who are zombie marching behind him. Basically. They are definitely an Eblia, which is on the like east side of the continent. And you can tell that they are headed towards Nazmoor. Like that is very obvious by the terrain. And then it kind of switches. It jump cuts to the end of what seems to be the fight with Erendril. And you are the last person in your party who very slowly becomes a created everybody else already is. And then you see a very, like, flash montage of countries in the world surrendering when Erendrill has you next to him and threatens them with essentially, like, a nuclear bomb. Right. Like, you are still a bomb. And Arendelle is using that to have country surrender to him. And then you watch him what it seems like kill what you would guess are like the gods, although they don't show up in the vision very well because they don't really have forms until they want one. And they don't typically stay in any sort of human form. So they're just kind of like blobs of blurry light that are just, like, dimming and such as Arendelle is, like, stabbing them. And then it, like. It, like, swoops closed. And the Mind Flayer looks really drained and says, I can't help you anymore. I'm sorry. We have to go protect. We have to go. I can't be here. I hope it goes differently. [00:44:35] Speaker E: I'll take that vote of confidence. Where are you going? [00:44:41] Speaker A: To protect our home from that. [00:44:47] Speaker E: Got it. [00:44:50] Speaker B: Well. [00:44:52] Speaker E: I hope I'm not there. [00:44:56] Speaker A: It turns to, like, walk away on the nothing and, like, quickly turn. That's typically when you, like, go back to your body, but this time you don't. And then it turns around a little bit and comes back over to you and reaches out a hand to you with a little, like, clear, kind of quartz, like, chunk of, like, crystal, basically, that is glowing with a clear light. If that's a thing, like you can kind of. It's like the heat waves that come off of a fire where it's, like, distorting what's behind it. And it just hands it to you and. And it leaves. And then you come back to your body. I think it, like. I think it wakes you up, right? Like being shunted from space into your body. Yeah. Nadia's snoring. Sure. [00:46:05] Speaker E: I think. [00:46:06] Speaker A: But you have that. You have that crystal, like, in your hand, and it's. It's kind of warm, like, not in an uncomfortable way. Just. [00:46:14] Speaker E: It looks it over, doesn't really know what to do with it. So we'll put it in a pocket that's, like, out of sight in a little pouch. Checks the bowl, make sure nobody messed with it. [00:46:27] Speaker A: No one messed with it. [00:46:29] Speaker D: Yarn doodled on it. [00:46:33] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:46:35] Speaker E: And then there's like a. [00:46:36] Speaker A: There's like, the smiley Face with the angry eyebrows. [00:46:39] Speaker D: It's in the bowl. [00:46:43] Speaker E: And then I think it, like, goes downstairs and out and, like, pushes a barrel up a hill a bunch of times. Pushes it all the way up and then lets it roll down. For exercise. [00:46:57] Speaker D: Okay. [00:46:57] Speaker E: Not for underworld punishment. [00:47:04] Speaker A: For sure. It is the next morning, and you all are rested. Nadia is kind of finally back to being not quite as exhausted. What do you want to do this morning? [00:47:19] Speaker C: Pull a wish? [00:47:20] Speaker D: Make. Make. Make breakfast. That's Melon's contribution to this, is that she'll just make breakfast. While Ed is getting the slips. [00:47:35] Speaker E: Ed comes back all sweaty and gross. [00:47:39] Speaker F: Take a shower. [00:47:40] Speaker E: Okay. He goes, take a shower, and then comes back. Okay. [00:47:49] Speaker B: It's the fastest shower ever. [00:47:51] Speaker E: Pulling a slip. Time. [00:47:54] Speaker A: Who? I. I think probably Melwyn, because you have detect magic on Will. On Will at. Will has a mind flayer thing in his pocket because it's definitely, like, clear and very magical. [00:48:15] Speaker D: Melon frying bacon, looking over it. Id just kind of, like, slowly tilts her head to the side, like. [00:48:24] Speaker E: What, did you want me to wait to pick it? No, until you're done cooking. I can do that. [00:48:31] Speaker F: What is. [00:48:32] Speaker D: And she'll point to the pouch that he put the mind flayer thing in. [00:48:37] Speaker E: Let's wait. It's a surprise. Chill out. We're doing the wish first. [00:48:42] Speaker F: I. I. Sure. [00:48:46] Speaker B: Great. [00:48:49] Speaker E: Anybody in particular want to do it? [00:48:54] Speaker A: Jumps up and down with his hand raised. [00:48:56] Speaker E: All right, buddy. I'll pick him up by the scruff of the neck and, like, claw machine him down into the bowl. [00:49:04] Speaker A: He's. He's just, like, starfished. Arms out. And he grabs. He grabs all of them. [00:49:12] Speaker E: Just one. The whole point is just one. [00:49:16] Speaker D: Shake him out. [00:49:19] Speaker A: Yeah, you shake him out. He's got one left that someone catches before he lets go. [00:49:26] Speaker D: Let's. [00:49:27] Speaker A: I'll have you guys roll for it. So I will do a 1 through 20, and, like, I'll pick a number between 120 and whoever's roll is the closest. [00:49:35] Speaker D: Oh, no. [00:49:35] Speaker A: Will be it. [00:49:38] Speaker B: I got a natural 20. What a waste of a natural 20. [00:49:42] Speaker E: I got a natural one. [00:49:44] Speaker A: Whoa. [00:49:44] Speaker C: Okay, I got an 11. [00:49:47] Speaker D: I got a 12. [00:49:49] Speaker A: Oh, gosh. [00:49:50] Speaker B: This is a crazy spread. [00:49:55] Speaker A: All right, I can't pick anymore, so I'm gonna roll my dice and see what it says. And that's gonna be the random number that's a two. So it's. [00:50:05] Speaker B: It's Ben the orphan. [00:50:07] Speaker E: Awesome. [00:50:08] Speaker D: That's fitting, actually. [00:50:10] Speaker E: So it grabs it, and he's like, oh, this one's mine. [00:50:13] Speaker A: All right. [00:50:14] Speaker E: He holds it over. [00:50:18] Speaker B: Yay, orphans. Hooray. [00:50:24] Speaker A: If a bunch of orphans die, it's not my fault. She just goes and sits on the couch, and then she closes her eyes, and it. It's really awkward because nothing happens for, like, a solid minute. Everyone's really quiet, waiting, and Ari, like, squints one eye back open. [00:50:44] Speaker B: Should we go, like, check? [00:50:45] Speaker A: Did it work? Did I. Did something happen? I can't tell. I don't think it did. [00:50:51] Speaker B: I didn't see anything happen. Do you have to say it out loud? Like, how when you popped over here. [00:51:00] Speaker A: Okay. I wish that the orphans down the street would get food. What was it? Food. All food. [00:51:07] Speaker D: Free food. [00:51:09] Speaker A: Free. Free food for. Sorry. Check in. I wish the orphans down the street would get free food for a month. [00:51:15] Speaker D: Does Melon see, like, a surge of magic from her? [00:51:21] Speaker A: There's a pulse that doesn't seem to go anywhere. It's like. It. It's like something, like, fizzles out. Like it didn't have a conduit of sorts. [00:51:29] Speaker F: Something happened. [00:51:31] Speaker E: The quill. [00:51:32] Speaker F: Oh. [00:51:33] Speaker A: Maybe she, like, pulls it out, and then she holds it and says the wish again. And nothing. It's still kind of pulsed. And it was a little better because there was something for it to go into, but it didn't do anything. [00:51:43] Speaker B: Oh. [00:51:43] Speaker F: Oh, maybe it has to be something that you want. [00:51:49] Speaker A: What? [00:51:50] Speaker B: Auden, since it's a quill, can you write it out? [00:51:56] Speaker A: She shrugs, grabs a piece of paper, and she. She writes down this wish, and it immediately begins, like, glowing from the paper, and then dissolves the words, like, dissolve into the paper, and the paper looks blank again. Does somebody want to roll this wish? Roll? [00:52:16] Speaker D: No, I think Ben should, since it was his thing. [00:52:19] Speaker A: I think it should. It's his thing. [00:52:22] Speaker E: The hundo. Yeah. [00:52:24] Speaker A: I have the numbers in front of me that I will share at some point, but I don't want to share right now. Treacherous for the suspense. [00:52:33] Speaker D: There's nothing very high to help this, is there? [00:52:36] Speaker E: No, I don't think So. I rolled a 28. [00:52:43] Speaker A: Okay. The wish goes through, and obviously you're sitting at home. Nothing happens. [00:52:54] Speaker D: We hear screaming down the street. [00:52:56] Speaker A: Now you're screaming down the street. [00:52:58] Speaker B: Autumn's gonna scoop up her big hammer from by the door, and she's kind of, like, bouncing on the balls of her toes, and she's gonna say, I kind of want to go check and see what happened, if anyone would like to join. And she's going to slip out the door. [00:53:12] Speaker A: Yeah, right. It will go. [00:53:14] Speaker E: Not as fast. [00:53:19] Speaker A: I. Yeah. Nadia goes as well. Is Everyone else going? Yeah, staying back. [00:53:24] Speaker C: I'm going. [00:53:26] Speaker A: Okay. Everyone heads down the road to this orphanage. And you see all of them on the road just kind of staring at the building. And then you hear, like. You hear a lot of noise coming from inside. Sounds like things are, like, crashing to you. Melwyn. There's definitely, like, colorful, prismatic magic coming from this building. That's. Yeah, that's what you see. [00:53:58] Speaker D: I think magic love melon will go inside. [00:54:04] Speaker A: Okay. You open the front door, and a, like, bread roll beams your head and, like, donks on the ground. And there's just food, like, covering the floor and falling from the ceiling. Oh, and, like, filling up everything. [00:54:25] Speaker F: I think it worked. That's not. [00:54:28] Speaker D: Melon's voice is fine. [00:54:30] Speaker E: It grabs a box and starts, like, putting things in there. Like, start making things organized. [00:54:37] Speaker A: You get, like, a blob of mashed potatoes, like, on your neck as you're doing this. [00:54:45] Speaker D: Just. [00:54:45] Speaker E: All right. Yeah. [00:54:50] Speaker A: But, yeah, you can catch a good amount of food, especially. Ari helps and Nadia helps and everything. I will tell you the 20. The roll of a 28 was an unwanted effect, which is, like, this is gonna be shitty to clean up. Like, this is gonna suck to have to, like, deal with. They got the free food, technically, but they got a month's worth of free food, but it's rough. [00:55:20] Speaker E: Fair. [00:55:21] Speaker A: Ari looks really guilty. [00:55:25] Speaker E: Well, we weren't super specific, I guess. [00:55:31] Speaker F: Note for next time, I suppose. [00:55:33] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:55:34] Speaker A: I just don't feel like it went right. [00:55:38] Speaker F: They have so much food now. [00:55:40] Speaker E: There's so much food. [00:55:41] Speaker F: I know, but, like, they have so much food. [00:55:44] Speaker A: But that. But they have so much to clean up, too. And some of it you can't eat because it's on the floor. [00:55:49] Speaker F: They would make. They'd have to do chores anyway. [00:55:53] Speaker E: Well, I'm okay. [00:55:56] Speaker B: They're orphans. They live in squalor. What the heck? [00:56:00] Speaker D: No, it's not that. [00:56:01] Speaker F: Like. [00:56:04] Speaker D: Logically speaking, like, they would have to clean up the floors anyway, and they're kids. It's not unreasonable to think that would end up on the floor anyway. [00:56:17] Speaker A: And Ari just turns and says, this is why I didn't want to do the, like, big stuff until later. [00:56:24] Speaker F: That's why we started. That's why we started small. [00:56:28] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:56:29] Speaker F: Actually, it was probably the best one you could have gotten. [00:56:32] Speaker A: Yeah. That's fair, I guess. We have a week now. [00:56:36] Speaker F: That's fine. [00:56:37] Speaker B: You did great. [00:56:39] Speaker E: What are we gonna do in the meantime? [00:56:42] Speaker F: We could start with you telling us what's in the pouch. [00:56:46] Speaker E: Oh, yeah. It pulls out a little crystal you. [00:56:50] Speaker A: Guys are back at the inn after helping clean up and everything. [00:56:56] Speaker D: Melvin will kind of hold out her hands, be like, hey, I sure I'm gonna cast identify. [00:57:08] Speaker A: Cool. Yeah. The is this thing. I like this. First of all, it has to be ingested to be used. Cool. Second of all, it's very specifically tied to it. Like, it will only work if it is ID because it seemed to be given to him. Third, it has a. An ability inside of it that is the Mind Flayer's Mind Blast ability. [00:57:35] Speaker E: Oh, it lets me. Jimmy Neutron Brain Blast. [00:57:41] Speaker A: Yes. [00:57:43] Speaker E: That's what. [00:57:46] Speaker A: Oh, I have the Mind Blast text. [00:57:51] Speaker F: So. Id. [00:57:54] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:57:55] Speaker F: How did you get this? [00:58:00] Speaker E: The Mind Flayer individual dreamscaped me again and then showed me a potential. Showed me a potential future where everything goes bad and then was like, gotta go, and then gave me this crystal. [00:58:23] Speaker D: Pro, said, dude, you're on your own, and left. [00:58:26] Speaker E: Pretty much. Here's a crystal piece. [00:58:30] Speaker A: The. The other thing that you would notice, I forgot about this earlier, but is that he does not have any, like, weird, clear stuff in his, like, magic veins anymore. [00:58:42] Speaker F: Oh, well, good news. [00:58:43] Speaker A: It's just his reg. We're back to his regular red and blue. [00:58:47] Speaker F: Good news, crazy. You are minus goop now. Like, you just have your goop and not blindfly a goop. [00:58:58] Speaker E: All right. [00:59:02] Speaker D: And Melvin will explain how to use this, like, what the crystal lets it do. And then she's just like. [00:59:11] Speaker F: The only thing is, if you want to use it, you kind of have to eat it. [00:59:16] Speaker E: All right. [00:59:20] Speaker A: It's really crunchy. It tastes like whatever you want it to taste like. [00:59:26] Speaker B: What does it taste like? [00:59:27] Speaker A: Do you want to crunch on it? [00:59:29] Speaker D: Like rock candy gets in gravy, eats. [00:59:33] Speaker E: It like an apple. [00:59:35] Speaker A: What would make it nostalgic? Like food. [00:59:40] Speaker D: Does it have nostalgia for mashed carrots? [00:59:44] Speaker A: Okay, it tastes like mashed carrots, but it's crunchy. [00:59:50] Speaker D: I hate that. That's awful. [00:59:55] Speaker E: Yes, Jay. [00:59:57] Speaker D: No, I. I hate that. Decidedly. [01:00:01] Speaker E: Nostalgia doesn't have to be positive. Well, I don't know. Don't quote me on that. [01:00:10] Speaker B: A sentimental longing or wistful affection for the past. So. [01:00:14] Speaker D: Yes, it does. [01:00:15] Speaker E: Oh, yeah. [01:00:15] Speaker A: I guess it has typically four period. [01:00:19] Speaker D: Or place with happy personal associations. [01:00:23] Speaker A: Crunchy mash. [01:00:24] Speaker E: I'll change it. He puts it in his mouth and it melts and tastes like worm grog. [01:00:30] Speaker D: Aw, that's cute. [01:00:33] Speaker A: I know. It's a significant funnier. [01:00:37] Speaker E: Mashed carrots is way funnier. You can leave both in crunchy mashed. [01:00:42] Speaker D: Carrots and warm grog. [01:00:46] Speaker A: Ew. [01:00:47] Speaker E: Nasty. [01:00:49] Speaker A: You like cut a circle of the carrot and like a slight slit in it, like a lime, you know, on a. Oh, yeah, take it on the edge. That's goofy. [01:00:59] Speaker D: It's like the gum from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. [01:01:04] Speaker A: I think it's not really a button, but I think we're just gonna end the episode there and we'll see you next time, guys. Thanks for listening. Bye. [01:01:15] Speaker D: Bye.
