Episode Transcript
[00:00:00] Speaker A: Threw me off.
[00:00:00] Speaker B: Okay, here's your. Here's your promised burger content.
[00:00:03] Speaker C: Here's your long awaited burger content question.
[00:00:06] Speaker B: You had to wait a whole week.
[00:00:09] Speaker D: Jay got a burger.
[00:00:10] Speaker E: I got a burger.
[00:00:11] Speaker B: Jay, what kind of burger did you get?
[00:00:12] Speaker A: I got a. I got a burger. I got a western burger from Carl's Jr. Which is a very good burger.
[00:00:21] Speaker F: Good choice.
[00:00:22] Speaker D: I don't.
[00:00:22] Speaker C: Today's discussion at the top of the episode is the best fast food burger.
[00:00:27] Speaker A: And we're gonna be civilized and calm and demure about all of it.
[00:00:33] Speaker D: Ben and I. Ben and I had Ben mentioned one before we started that I think I'm on board with, which was five guys.
[00:00:40] Speaker B: I think it's five guys. My answer is five best.
[00:00:43] Speaker D: I just like the fries.
[00:00:45] Speaker C: That's not.
[00:00:46] Speaker F: But we're not talking about fries.
[00:00:47] Speaker C: We're not civilized.
[00:00:48] Speaker A: We're civilized. I know.
[00:00:49] Speaker B: Having a conversation. I'm not joking. I'm not actually. I'm not joking. The burger is one of the best. Like fast food burgers if I want to buy one.
[00:00:58] Speaker C: I think I've had a 5 gram.
[00:00:59] Speaker B: Burger one time is Wendy's. If I have to like spast food, Wendy's is my second.
[00:01:05] Speaker D: I think Shake Shack is my second.
[00:01:07] Speaker A: Shake Shack is good.
[00:01:08] Speaker C: I don't think I count that as fast food.
[00:01:11] Speaker A: It's more quick.
[00:01:11] Speaker C: I know it's technically fast food, but it's.
[00:01:14] Speaker G: Why?
[00:01:15] Speaker D: Cuz it's expensive.
[00:01:16] Speaker A: Yeah, I mean, I'm like dirt cheap, greasy.
[00:01:21] Speaker B: Go to Panera.
[00:01:23] Speaker A: So when I. When I think fast food, Panera counts as fast food. When I think fast food burger, I'm thinking of like drive through. Like pull on in, like on a road trip.
[00:01:31] Speaker B: Or like.
[00:01:34] Speaker F: I haven't been to a five guys that has a drive through. So I have to disqualify myself.
[00:01:38] Speaker B: Five guys. No. Okay. Because I would still.
I wouldn't qualify five guys as anything other than fast food. Like, what other category would it fall under? It's. Yeah, it's burgers. And they make them fast it and.
[00:01:53] Speaker A: You know, eat them.
Being calm and demure and civilized. I don't think it matters what you label five guys because you're all wrong with it. It's clearly in and out.
In n out is clearly the best choice.
[00:02:07] Speaker B: It's not.
[00:02:08] Speaker D: I live on the cheese.
[00:02:09] Speaker A: We don't have. I don't care. The cheese that coagulates on the wrapper of the Internet.
[00:02:18] Speaker D: You decided to live in one of the most expensive areas.
[00:02:21] Speaker F: Jay, are you eating the wrapper?
[00:02:23] Speaker A: Not the wrapper.
[00:02:26] Speaker B: Cheese on the Wrapper.
[00:02:27] Speaker A: Eating the wrapper. I'm eating the cheese off of it. People know to your credit.
[00:02:31] Speaker E: No.
[00:02:31] Speaker C: Yeah. That's good stuff. It's good stuff. Dairy Queen does it too.
[00:02:36] Speaker B: Dairy. That's just wrong.
[00:02:38] Speaker C: No one's doing pickles on burgers.
[00:02:42] Speaker A: That's because pickles are nasty.
[00:02:43] Speaker B: I don't like pickles.
[00:02:45] Speaker A: Don't say that.
[00:02:46] Speaker B: I don't think. I don't like pickles.
[00:02:48] Speaker D: Dairy Queen in my entire life.
[00:02:49] Speaker A: I'll be real.
[00:02:51] Speaker C: If you ever want, like, a short list of what to order from Dairy Queen, let me know. Love Dairy Queen.
[00:02:56] Speaker D: Side note, this has nothing to do with Dairy Queen, but remember I said we didn't have a raising canes here on the East Coast.
[00:03:02] Speaker C: Did you find one?
[00:03:03] Speaker D: Apparently there's one here in the state that I live in.
[00:03:07] Speaker B: And it's like they're putting some up. And they're putting some up near us, too.
[00:03:13] Speaker C: If slash. When you go.
[00:03:15] Speaker B: They're expanding.
[00:03:15] Speaker C: Expect a full review.
[00:03:18] Speaker D: This will be my next TikTok video.
[00:03:22] Speaker B: Here's my. Here's. Here's my Dairy Queen opinion. Dairy Queen has better food than Culver's. Culver's has better ice cream than Dairy Queen.
[00:03:30] Speaker C: I do the same.
[00:03:30] Speaker B: So if I could take the ice cream from Culver's and the food from Dairy Queen, plus the cheese curds from Culver's, I would do that.
[00:03:37] Speaker D: What the fuck is a Culver's?
[00:03:38] Speaker B: Culver's is a Midwest thing.
[00:03:40] Speaker D: Okay.
[00:03:41] Speaker C: Can I actually you on a stage really fast? The reason that the Culver's. Yeah, it's. Cause it's not ice cream. It's ice cream.
[00:03:49] Speaker B: I understand.
[00:03:50] Speaker C: And that is so yummy.
[00:03:51] Speaker B: It's better. I don't care. It's still better than Dairy Queen.
[00:03:56] Speaker C: I'm just saying the two can exist together. They can hold hands in brotherhood.
[00:04:01] Speaker A: Brotherhood.
[00:04:01] Speaker B: I'm saying if I could just replace the ice cream from Dairy Queen with the custard from Culver's, that would be the best case scenario.
[00:04:09] Speaker A: I see.
[00:04:09] Speaker C: I see. I see. If you're doing, like, the dream. Fast food crawl. Dairy Queen burger. Culver's custard.
[00:04:17] Speaker B: My answer's still five guys. I don't care if you don't qualify as fast food. I did. Five slice is pretty good.
[00:04:23] Speaker D: I like five guys.
[00:04:24] Speaker C: Okay, enough burger talk. You know who's.
How do I transition from burger to spells and whistles?
[00:04:34] Speaker B: Okay, do you want to hear my. Do you want to. Do you want to hear what I was gonna say? I don't think we should keep it in the episode.
[00:04:40] Speaker D: Okay, let us leave the burgers conversation.
[00:04:44] Speaker B: No, I was gonna say as speaking.
[00:04:47] Speaker A: Of burgers, my thought was cheese is good on burgers, but you know what? Cheese is better on Gosneshi and pizza by the slice. Hi. Welcome to Spells and Whistles.
[00:04:56] Speaker B: That's better.
[00:04:56] Speaker F: That's pretty good.
[00:04:57] Speaker C: That's good.
[00:04:59] Speaker B: Like family friendly. Because I think we should leave the family friendly bun.
[00:05:02] Speaker C: Since fucking when every episode is rated explosive.
[00:05:08] Speaker A: That is true.
[00:05:10] Speaker B: Fuck.
[00:05:10] Speaker F: Fuck. Shit, shit, fuck, fuck.
[00:05:12] Speaker C: Thank you, Ben. Getting our quota.
[00:05:14] Speaker B: Thanks.
[00:05:15] Speaker A: Everyone say their favorite curse word on the count of three. One, two, three. Bitch.
[00:05:20] Speaker C: Bastard.
[00:05:21] Speaker B: I have no idea. I'm twinning.
[00:05:22] Speaker A: Twinning bitches.
[00:05:23] Speaker D: We're hitting the quotas for you unflexible Disney employee listener.
[00:05:28] Speaker C: Yeah, you wish you could curse on the job.
[00:05:30] Speaker F: Yeah. Watch out, Elsa person.
[00:05:33] Speaker A: You know where you could put your two finger point?
Whoa.
[00:05:38] Speaker C: It's giving colonoscopy rip.
[00:05:43] Speaker D: Oh, my God.
Ben's dead.
[00:05:47] Speaker F: Oh, my gosh.
[00:05:51] Speaker B: Okay, don't say that, but please leave.
[00:05:54] Speaker D: All of that in, including Ben hitting his head on his desk.
[00:05:58] Speaker F: Yeah. Sorry, everybody.
[00:06:00] Speaker B: Welcome to welcome to Spells and Whistles. It's a Dungeons & Dragons 5th edition podcast where we are very steampunk world.
They don't have any of these burger joints, so you know that. I do. I am in charge.
[00:06:18] Speaker A: Please tell me they have a wrapper.
[00:06:20] Speaker B: Last time, you guys. No.
Yeah, actually. Yeah, actually. They just sell cheese that's, like, stuck a little bit on a wrapper and they charge you $10 to eat it.
[00:06:33] Speaker A: Take my money.
[00:06:35] Speaker D: I'm in pain.
[00:06:37] Speaker B: Last time. Last time, you guys took a long rest. And Mila came back to the land of the living. The land of those with bodies. I don't know. But she talked with Auden about Auden's origins. And I wrote this, and it's really cheesy. I wrote reassures her. Just like a burger.
It reassures her that Auden couldn't be anything but the person she wants to be.
[00:07:00] Speaker C: How does a burger plane?
[00:07:02] Speaker B: Because it's cheesy. I said cheesy.
Yeah.
And the crew then talks about what they might do in the evening. And then Ari shows up at the door.
They kind of just said hi, and then left her with Nadia and Yarin in the room while Auden and Mel went to buy dinner ingredients. We've had a day Leave us went to quote, unquote, spar. Except Myla, actually, instead tells them a secret because they are best friends forever. If you want to know what that secret is, go listen to the Last episode. Because I'm not giving you shit. Okay?
And everybody, do you have a response ID to what Mila says to you?
[00:07:51] Speaker D: We know what ID's response is.
[00:07:53] Speaker B: I know, but any more follow up is. Want to have any more of the conversation or is it just, let's go back. We just go home, I guess.
[00:08:02] Speaker F: I think the follow up is.
[00:08:04] Speaker G: What?
[00:08:05] Speaker F: What is that?
[00:08:06] Speaker E: What do you.
[00:08:08] Speaker G: Huh?
[00:08:09] Speaker A: Wait.
[00:08:10] Speaker F: What is that? What do you mean?
[00:08:13] Speaker A: I don't know.
[00:08:15] Speaker F: Then why'd you say what?
[00:08:17] Speaker A: No, I know.
It's.
I can't.
I can't put it into words. I don't know. I've been trying to for, like, forever. And I did these stupid surveys I think she takes, and she, like, throws them on the floor. And I'm like. And I. And I've been asking people all these questions, but nobody is giving me, like, an answer that, like, makes.
It's different because you're my best friend and I don't.
[00:08:49] Speaker B: Bleh.
[00:08:50] Speaker E: No.
[00:08:52] Speaker A: You know.
[00:08:53] Speaker F: Okay, sure.
[00:08:56] Speaker A: It's.
I don't know.
[00:09:00] Speaker F: I don't know either. I don't understand why you want to drop an engine on her. Because you like her.
[00:09:06] Speaker A: No, it's. No, it's not that.
[00:09:08] Speaker F: You said crush, not.
[00:09:13] Speaker G: Quiet.
[00:09:16] Speaker A: Because what if it's weird? What? What if. What if it's weird and what if. I don't know. I don't know how to say things and I don't know how to express things, and I don't want to say or express something that I can't factually describe yet. That's like. That's like blasphemy.
[00:09:39] Speaker F: I agree.
[00:09:40] Speaker A: Exactly.
[00:09:41] Speaker F: You shouldn't be doing it.
[00:09:43] Speaker A: So I should stop?
[00:09:47] Speaker F: Um.
I think in the interest of not being a hypocrite, you should feel the feelings that you have.
[00:09:55] Speaker A: I don't know how.
[00:09:57] Speaker F: It's not a dig. He's been encouraging Melwen to get more feelings. It's not a dig.
[00:10:03] Speaker D: It's the way you said it, dude.
In the interest of not being a hypocrite goes so hard.
[00:10:13] Speaker A: I don't.
I don't know.
And I need help.
[00:10:22] Speaker F: Well, you picked, I think, probably the wrong person.
[00:10:25] Speaker A: Who else am I? Who else am I supposed to ask?
[00:10:28] Speaker F: Somebody who knows what a crush is.
[00:10:31] Speaker A: Who?
You're smart. You know people. You know how feelings work, don't you? Kind of.
The person I would ask is Odin, and I can't.
[00:10:45] Speaker F: You're such a dilemma. That's fair.
[00:10:48] Speaker A: Thank you.
[00:10:49] Speaker F: You got me there.
[00:10:50] Speaker A: Thank you.
We could just. You know what? Let's pretend it's fine. Pack it away.
It's in a box. It's gone. It's never happened.
[00:11:00] Speaker F: Gone.
[00:11:01] Speaker A: Cool. I'm going to. I am gonna pull out, like, my crossbow from super old times and be like, I'm gonna shoot at you and you're going to deflect it. Okay, sure. Cool.
[00:11:12] Speaker F: Put the shield over.
[00:11:14] Speaker D: I'm gonna shoot you now.
[00:11:15] Speaker C: She says, let's pretend this conversation never happened, brah.
[00:11:20] Speaker G: Brah, brah.
[00:11:23] Speaker B: I wish I could be like, hey, you know what? Actually, shut up. I'm gonna shoot you now. And you defend yourself best you can.
[00:11:31] Speaker F: Just get some nerf guns.
[00:11:32] Speaker D: All we need is the zombie apocalypse to start up, man. And then everything.
[00:11:37] Speaker B: It already has.
[00:11:39] Speaker D: I sound like a stoner.
Yeah, dude. Myla, please stall the apocalypse, man.
[00:11:45] Speaker A: Myla unsummons Otter Isaac.
[00:11:47] Speaker B: Zombie apocalypse currently.
[00:11:50] Speaker A: Mila puts away otter Isaac and, like, summons literally any of the other ones.
[00:11:57] Speaker B: Don't care.
[00:11:58] Speaker A: Don't care. I think she. The badger.
[00:12:00] Speaker B: Let's do the badger.
[00:12:01] Speaker A: There you go.
Fight a badger.
[00:12:04] Speaker D: Cool.
[00:12:05] Speaker F: He fights a badger.
[00:12:07] Speaker A: I commanded to self destruct. I'm just kidding. I don't.
[00:12:13] Speaker B: All right. You guys do actually spar, I guess. Kinda. Myla's just throwing stuff at it, I suppose.
[00:12:22] Speaker F: Yeah.
[00:12:22] Speaker B: It's just trying to defend it.
[00:12:24] Speaker A: Shooting you.
[00:12:25] Speaker B: Everyone gets back.
It is like, mid afternoon at this point.
Yeah. You walk in and actually, like, Nadia and Ari seem to be having a conversation about Nadia's magic. And it seems kind of like an instructional, like, teaching moment. Like, Nadia is trying to teach Ari how she does her creative drawing magic, but she can't do it anymore. It's not working for her. She can't do any magic at all. She is simply trying to, like, describe how it felt and, like, trying to help Ari figure out whatever. Whatever she can. But Ari is getting, like, minimal success. She is making things that are very small, and they're coming out as like, tiny little blob versions of the things.
So, like, they're effective, but not.
Not, like, well made or well drawn or understood or anything.
So, yeah, they're having that conversation.
Yarn is super bored.
And so he's just changing into a bunch of, like, small animals, like, rapid fire.
So he's like a cat and he's chasing his own tail. And then he turns into, like, a small bird and just starts, like, hopping around and then changes into, like, a spoon, like a wooden spoon, and then changes back into his leaf form. When everyone comes in, it's like, oh.
[00:13:55] Speaker G: My God, thank God.
[00:14:00] Speaker A: They're, like, so boring.
[00:14:03] Speaker F: They're doing work yarn.
[00:14:07] Speaker G: I think it sounded really interesting, actually. Boring. It was really boring. Everything bores you. Yeah.
[00:14:14] Speaker B: Cause it's all boring. And then he just runs away and, like, he tries to, like, flop down on the couch, but it, like, takes him a while to climb up the couch and flop dramatically down.
[00:14:25] Speaker D: Melon's gonna go over, scoop him up, and toss him onto a bed like a softball.
[00:14:31] Speaker B: Okay.
He still leaves, so he, like, flutters awkwardly down onto the bed.
[00:14:39] Speaker D: It's like when you throw a tissue really angrily. Yeah, exactly.
[00:14:44] Speaker B: It does not end up where you want it to. It's like he's, like, almost off the bed but manages to make it.
Yeah. You guys want to do anything this evening or this afternoon before, like, evening activities?
[00:15:00] Speaker D: I suppose I'll look at the letter, I guess.
[00:15:06] Speaker B: Yeah. It just says it. It just says Amali at the bottom. And the letter reads, ask Ari about Arcanist Lexia.
I couldn't ask her myself because it's not useful, so you should do it, Amali.
[00:15:27] Speaker D: Melon makes a face at the letter and is just like, what the.
[00:15:31] Speaker G: That's not helpful. Why wouldn't you just tell. Why would.
[00:15:37] Speaker D: No one's gonna crumple up the letter.
[00:15:42] Speaker B: Fair enough.
[00:15:43] Speaker D: Actually, no, she wouldn't. She doesn't have the. I don't think she has that, actually.
Melan Melwin will just kind of, like, blankly stare at the letter for a little bit and then look up at.
[00:15:56] Speaker G: Ari and just kind of go, ari, did you read this before you gave it to me?
[00:16:07] Speaker B: No, she said not to.
[00:16:10] Speaker G: Okay.
Arcanist Amali is a very confusing person.
[00:16:17] Speaker B: That's true. I spent, like, three weeks with her, and I still don't really get it.
[00:16:21] Speaker D: And Melon will turn the letter around.
[00:16:23] Speaker C: Can you.
[00:16:24] Speaker D: Can I get the spelling for Arcanus Lexian, please?
[00:16:27] Speaker B: Yeah, it's Lexia. L, E, X, I, A.
[00:16:30] Speaker D: Thank you.
[00:16:32] Speaker B: Mm.
[00:16:35] Speaker G: That's all it says. That's it.
That's not helpful.
[00:16:42] Speaker B: Okay, I guess maybe you have to ask me.
[00:16:49] Speaker D: What was that?
[00:16:51] Speaker B: Hazel's Pop Tart.
[00:16:59] Speaker G: All right, Ari, what can you tell me about ar?
[00:17:06] Speaker D: I'm going to try that whole sentence again.
[00:17:08] Speaker C: What can you tell me?
[00:17:10] Speaker G: What can you tell me?
[00:17:12] Speaker B: I don't know.
[00:17:17] Speaker G: Ari, what can you tell me about Arcanist Lexia?
[00:17:22] Speaker B: She was like.
[00:17:26] Speaker A: Get that Pop Tart.
[00:17:28] Speaker B: Deal for, like, 45 more minutes.
[00:17:30] Speaker G: No Pop.
[00:17:32] Speaker C: That's my Pop Tart.
[00:17:36] Speaker A: My favorite dochi song.
[00:17:38] Speaker D: So sad.
[00:17:42] Speaker C: What did you say, Jay?
[00:17:44] Speaker A: I said, my favorite dochi song.
[00:17:49] Speaker D: I appreciate it.
[00:17:51] Speaker B: I gave her something else. So hopefully she'll be entertained at least a little bit.
[00:17:56] Speaker D: Oh, but at least.
[00:18:00] Speaker B: She loves that thing.
Ari is acting, like, chill and normal with Nadia, and then you finish this question and she, like, sits up really straight and her eyes just go full, like, white, kind of pearly.
And she kind of sort of like, looks up a little bit, but she's not looking at anything in particular.
And in almost.
Yeah. In like a different voice, she says. Arcanist Lexia born. Year120. Last seen. Year937 Arcanist Lexia Arcanist title was granted year 193 by the assembly. Year245, Arcanist Lexia discovered and categorized Blue Magic. Year312, Arcanist Lexia invented initial prototypes for Boschite wiring. Year400, Arcanus Lexia designed architectural plans for an institution for magic and submitted them for consideration. Year 476, Arcanist Lexia attempted to take over the Hells for new magic sources. Unfortunately, she underestimated the power of the Hells and returned unwillingly looking like a tling. Year 476, Arcanist title removed after trial of the Assembly. Year 770, assembly bestows restrictions on Lexia and removes all her connections to Magic. Year 935, gave birth to one daughter. Year 937, last seen alone in Auspi Life expectancy. Immortal. And then. And then Ari, like, sits back down. Is like.
Sorry. What it is currently, for all of your knowledge. Year four or year 949.
[00:19:51] Speaker G: You.
[00:19:52] Speaker B: Yeah, I thought you. Did you ask me something?
[00:19:58] Speaker G: Yes.
You don't remember?
[00:20:03] Speaker B: No, I thought you had to ask. Didn't you have a question for me?
[00:20:08] Speaker G: And I asked it and you answered.
[00:20:12] Speaker B: Oh.
Okay.
Cool. Good.
[00:20:22] Speaker G: Are you feeling awkwardly?
[00:20:24] Speaker B: Looks around.
Yeah.
[00:20:28] Speaker D: Melon's gonna activate her detect magic.
[00:20:33] Speaker B: You see the same thing that Myla saw. A little bit of gold with some pearlescent pastels around that.
[00:20:41] Speaker G: You said it's midday.
[00:20:43] Speaker D: Like afternoon.
[00:20:44] Speaker G: Ish.
[00:20:45] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:20:46] Speaker G: Cool.
I'm.
I'm gonna go to the library.
I'll be back in like a few hours.
[00:20:56] Speaker D: And Melon's just gonna kind of slowly walk out, similarly to how she did before when she was handed the letter. Just kind of confused.
[00:21:07] Speaker C: Do you want company or is it like a personal library?
[00:21:11] Speaker D: She is walking.
[00:21:15] Speaker C: I will probably go.
[00:21:16] Speaker B: You're gonna let a 12, 14 year old walk by herself?
[00:21:21] Speaker C: So grab her hammer and follower.
We'll be back at some point.
Yeah.
[00:21:31] Speaker F: Okay.
[00:21:32] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:21:33] Speaker D: I'm going to the library. Anna.
[00:21:35] Speaker B: Great.
[00:21:36] Speaker D: What the was that?
[00:21:38] Speaker B: What are you trying to look for?
[00:21:40] Speaker D: This name. Arcanus. Lexia, I guess.
[00:21:45] Speaker B: Okay, sure.
Roll some intelligence roles.
[00:21:51] Speaker D: I think with that and like finally realizing that Auden came with her, Mel.
[00:21:55] Speaker G: Will be like, you look over there maybe. I guess, yes.
[00:21:59] Speaker C: I will do my very best not to mess this up.
[00:22:05] Speaker D: That rolled in a weird ass way, but it landed on a something. What am I looking?
What'd you say? Sorry. Investigation.
[00:22:12] Speaker B: Intelligence. Investigation is fine.
[00:22:16] Speaker D: This is 21.
[00:22:17] Speaker C: Ask a librarian.
[00:22:20] Speaker B: Sure.
[00:22:21] Speaker C: Nicely.
[00:22:22] Speaker B: Yeah, of course.
Make a charisma check then of some sort.
[00:22:27] Speaker G: Yay.
[00:22:27] Speaker B: You resolve your thing with Melwin, they might coincide.
[00:22:31] Speaker C: Oh, yeah.
[00:22:32] Speaker B: So I would like to know your role first.
[00:22:33] Speaker C: Maybe they're really busy. I'll go Persuasion. And that's a 15.
[00:22:38] Speaker B: Okay.
Yeah. So you both kind of figure out that via the library. And telling you on an and from your own research moment, you're like realizing that any evidence of somebody named this is like scratched out, slash gone. Like it's been removed.
It seems like from the facts that you gained that like you're seeing the same facts that were told to you. And then like the name is scratched out or like blacked out. It probably says Arcanist Lexia, or maybe just Lexia, but you don't find anything on top of what Ari gave you. But you do know that everything that is there seems to be true and is also, for some reason, not wanting to be seen. Seen by the general public. Somebody has decided to like, censor this for some reason.
And that's kind of what the librarian tells you. She just kind of says like, I, you know, I remember hearing that name, but I don't think we have anything on her. And tries to like, flip open a book to a certain spot and is like, yeah, I. I thought it was here, but it was so long ago, I can't remember, you know, that kind of thing.
[00:24:03] Speaker C: If there were more thorough records that haven't been sort of scratched out, do you know where we might find that?
[00:24:11] Speaker B: Well, I assume whoever scratched them out really wanted them to be removed because this is a big library. Like, looks around. This is a big library and they seem to have taken evidence of this person out of everything. That way I can find or remember.
[00:24:31] Speaker G: Okay, well, I guess that begs the question why then?
That's not something that we should be bothering you about. Sorry. Thank you for your time and your help.
[00:24:44] Speaker B: Good luck.
[00:24:45] Speaker G: Yep.
[00:24:47] Speaker D: Cool.
[00:24:49] Speaker B: Sweet. You're welcome to like, make an insight check on the, like, facts if you want me to try to describe things more clearly.
[00:24:59] Speaker D: Melwin's not Good at ins. I can try.
[00:25:02] Speaker C: I can give you the help action. Maybe so even if you're not great at advantage, perhaps.
[00:25:08] Speaker D: Sure. My minus one.
I rolled a four and a six for a three.
[00:25:14] Speaker C: Oh, baby.
[00:25:15] Speaker D: The rolls are back to normal.
[00:25:17] Speaker C: Wait, wouldn't it be a five?
[00:25:19] Speaker B: It was at advantage to be a five. Right? A six minus one is five.
[00:25:23] Speaker D: Yeah, you're right. That is how advantage works. You take the higher of the two.
[00:25:30] Speaker B: Yeah. I mean, at least you know all of this seems to be legit. Like this isn't made up.
Yeah. You could try to make history rolls on some of the things in like named in here if you'd like. Or do research on some of the things in here.
[00:25:50] Speaker D: I'm not sure she's gonna get anything more.
[00:25:53] Speaker G: Arden?
[00:25:55] Speaker C: Yes?
[00:25:56] Speaker G: Why do you think that Arcanist and Molly said that I needed to ask Ari, do you think. Wait, do you think if you ask the same question you'll get the same information?
[00:26:07] Speaker C: I don't think we. I think we should definitely give it a try. I'm guessing since it was you specifically that asked, you might have done something. Not like you personally or intentionally. I'm definitely happy to you did this. I'm definitely happy to ask about it though.
[00:26:28] Speaker G: Sure. We can call it. We could call it an experiment. Well, we probably shouldn't call it an experiment actually. That has some very bad history with.
[00:26:39] Speaker B: Haru.
[00:26:39] Speaker A: Squint it in.
[00:26:42] Speaker D: Wait, wait, wait.
[00:26:43] Speaker B: Are you guys back at the inn or is this on the walk?
[00:26:46] Speaker C: We're like walking.
[00:26:47] Speaker D: This is on the walk back.
[00:26:49] Speaker B: Yeah. Cool.
[00:26:49] Speaker C: Totally. Ask. And we can call it hypothesis.
Hypothesis. Hypothesis. We'll call it that. My hypothesis is that she will not say anything like that to me because I am not you.
[00:27:13] Speaker G: I am kind of hoping that she will.
[00:27:17] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:27:18] Speaker G: Because it makes it. That makes it less weird and confusing and we're just gonna keep walking.
[00:27:27] Speaker D: And Melwyn's still kind of in like that confused kind of shell shocked little walk that she was doing before.
Just makes her way slowly back into the hotel room.
[00:27:38] Speaker C: Do you want a better copper on it?
[00:27:40] Speaker D: Do I have money?
[00:27:41] Speaker C: I forget you have so much money.
[00:27:43] Speaker D: Oh, I do.
[00:27:44] Speaker C: You have a side hustle.
[00:27:46] Speaker D: I have so much. I have the mo.
[00:27:47] Speaker B: I have.
[00:27:48] Speaker D: I have money. I forgot I have money.
[00:27:51] Speaker G: No.
[00:27:52] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:27:52] Speaker G: Because part of me thinks that you're right, but part of me doesn't want you to be.
[00:27:59] Speaker C: Yeah, that's okay.
Alright. I bust down the door and I walk up to Ari.
[00:28:08] Speaker G: Wham.
[00:28:10] Speaker C: Ari, what can you tell me about Arcanist? Lexia.
[00:28:15] Speaker B: She does do the same thing. She tells you the same set of information in the same order.
[00:28:20] Speaker C: Should have bet. You should have bet.
[00:28:22] Speaker G: Oh, I should have bet. You're correct.
[00:28:24] Speaker C: A copper.
[00:28:25] Speaker G: Don't worry about it. I'm gonna start on dinner because it's. Oh, look, the sun's starting to go down.
[00:28:34] Speaker B: It would be like evening by now if you went to go research.
[00:28:38] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:28:38] Speaker A: Milo is scanning Melwyn's like. Like how she's responding. I don't think Milo's good at insight, but I think she's really good at pattern recognition.
I think she's like.
[00:28:49] Speaker D: It's. She's an open.
[00:28:50] Speaker A: You're avoiding something. What is it?
You did the same thing when you did the emotions are doing the emotions. Sorry, That's a current thing.
[00:29:02] Speaker G: I mean, you're not wrong.
I want to know why Arcanist. You're very close, Myla.
[00:29:09] Speaker A: Yes, I am. She's like, scooting closer and like. Like looking, like, trying to look you.
[00:29:13] Speaker D: In the eyes as close as melon is progressively leaning further away.
[00:29:20] Speaker G: I want to know why Arcanist. Amali wanted me to ask, especially if it's. Oh. If she responds the same way to everyone.
[00:29:28] Speaker A: Why did she need me to ask with a. Just an intelligence check of 19 just because I wanted to roll for fun.
[00:29:38] Speaker E: You know what?
[00:29:38] Speaker A: I'll flash of genius myself. Plus five. Why not? I think Milo looks at you and is like. Oh, I can tell you that it's math.
[00:29:46] Speaker D: Go on.
[00:29:48] Speaker G: It's.
[00:29:48] Speaker A: How old are you?
[00:29:50] Speaker G: 14, technically.
[00:29:51] Speaker A: Okay, so if we are in here, let's walk through this. She'll, like, get a piece of paper. So if we are in the year 949 and this. Matt, you have this, like, magical power that's, like, within your bones from being a sorcerer. And she's, like, sort of like drawing, like, a side diagram to this. And we take the year that. That she. That Ari told us, which is year 935, which is when this immortal being who became a Tiefling gave birth to one daughter.
That equals 14.
[00:30:18] Speaker G: That. That would be math. You are correct.
[00:30:23] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:30:24] Speaker D: Melan's slowly chopping potatoes.
[00:30:28] Speaker A: Okay, we don't have to talk about if you don't want to. I just thought that, like, I'm just.
[00:30:33] Speaker G: Confused because I don't have a mother. Not one that I know, at least.
I have two dads. I got two brothers.
[00:30:45] Speaker A: Well, okay, you don't necessarily have like. Like someone who can identify as mother, because usually a mother is like, someone who is there with you for, like, your Entire life. So, like, I totally understand that. But you do realize have your dad's had the talk with you.
[00:31:03] Speaker G: Yes.
[00:31:05] Speaker A: So you know how it works.
[00:31:07] Speaker G: I.
I do. I don't think this is a conversation I want to be having with you right now.
[00:31:13] Speaker A: I mean, I don't necessarily want to have it either, but it's important to know the facts.
We don't have to talk about it right now. If you want to avoid it, that's totally fine. I'm totally fine with doing that.
[00:31:23] Speaker G: Introducing a possibility that's very small.
[00:31:28] Speaker D: I don't know. Is it losing it in the background, too, or is this just bad?
[00:31:32] Speaker F: I think it's just, like. This is so awkward.
[00:31:36] Speaker D: No one's going to, like, peek around Myla, and do, like a help me kind of look.
[00:31:43] Speaker F: This. This is a. You're putting a lot of pressure on something that we have one piece of information.
[00:31:49] Speaker A: Oh, yeah, exactly. I'm not saying that it's for sure. I'm just saying it's a hypothesis.
[00:31:54] Speaker C: A hypothesis. We talked about that earlier, Mellie.
[00:31:57] Speaker G: We did. Yes, indeed. You wanted to do vegetable scrubbing here. Yeah.
[00:32:04] Speaker D: Slowly. Making dinner. Trying to avoid this.
[00:32:09] Speaker A: Okay, you can stop. Just an idea.
[00:32:13] Speaker G: It's an interesting one at the very least. Yeah, but.
[00:32:20] Speaker A: How are you with blue magic? Are you particularly good at it?
[00:32:25] Speaker G: Miley, you've seen me cast magic. Yes, but I think that's more of. I learned it.
Yeah, that's over the years.
Yes, I'm quite good with Boo match. So are you.
[00:32:38] Speaker A: Yeah, I know.
[00:32:40] Speaker G: Myla, I have a very sharp object in my hand. If you could take, like, a step away.
[00:32:45] Speaker A: It's fine. I'll be fine.
I'm very aware of where it is.
[00:32:50] Speaker G: All right, then.
[00:32:52] Speaker A: But it's okay. I'll let you do your thing. Enjoy your potato scrubbing and making a very nice dinner. This is a very nice dinner.
[00:33:00] Speaker G: Not being a puppet.
[00:33:01] Speaker A: This is so nice. It's like a puzzle. This is exactly. This is literally what I am built for.
[00:33:07] Speaker D: This is Myla's dream.
[00:33:09] Speaker A: It's a riddle. It's a puzzle about blue magic and about the origins of my friends.
That's what brought us all together.
[00:33:22] Speaker G: Oh. You know who else has very mysterious origins? You can ask it. It has very mysterious origins.
[00:33:28] Speaker A: Oh, I know where it came from. He came from the lab.
[00:33:34] Speaker C: Gmo, baby.
[00:33:36] Speaker A: And I know where Auden came from. Auden came from the depths and, like, the pressure of, like, being in the dark. And I know mostly where you came from, but this. And this.
[00:33:45] Speaker G: Suppose your theory is correct. Then what? What does that help us with?
[00:33:51] Speaker A: What if you're part God?
[00:33:54] Speaker G: I highly doubt that.
[00:33:56] Speaker A: All right, you could be.
[00:33:59] Speaker G: I don't know. I. It could be part God. He can use a lot of cool.
[00:34:02] Speaker A: Anyone can be.
We've seen.
[00:34:05] Speaker G: I mean, you could be Odin. Could be.
[00:34:08] Speaker B: Nah, damn it.
[00:34:13] Speaker C: Probably not. But maybe.
[00:34:15] Speaker A: What? What if there's more power that you're not tapping into?
I mean, something that could help us.
[00:34:23] Speaker G: There's plenty of spells that I can't cast. Yet.
[00:34:27] Speaker A: Yet?
[00:34:28] Speaker G: Yeah. There's plenty of spells you can't cast either. It's not that special.
[00:34:32] Speaker A: Yet.
[00:34:33] Speaker G: Okay, okay. Suppose. Suppose that your theory is correct. What do you want to do about it? It's not like we can really.
Knowing doesn't help us. It does it.
[00:34:47] Speaker A: I mean, it tells us that there might be more power.
Something within you that is inherently a part of you. That could help us.
That could help us with. I mean, this whole thing with the. The people with the purple magic and the cult and the puppet and the Mind Flayer and everything.
[00:35:10] Speaker G: Okay, then where would we start looking, Myla?
[00:35:13] Speaker A: I don't know, but I can think about it.
[00:35:16] Speaker G: Well, why don't you think about it while we finish making soup to celebrate the fact that you're not a puppet anymore? Which is the whole point of us going out and cooking vegetables.
[00:35:28] Speaker D: I don't know why Melon's so sassy today.
[00:35:30] Speaker C: I'm sorry, did she secretly take her sassy emotion back?
[00:35:35] Speaker D: No, I don't think she has one.
[00:35:38] Speaker C: She doesn't need one.
She's got.
[00:35:41] Speaker A: I'm gonna go rent some books from the library. I'll bring them back.
[00:35:44] Speaker G: Don't worry, Joe. They're not really gonna tell you anything. Oh, she's gone.
[00:35:49] Speaker B: Yeah. I'm gonna go with Ari. Ari. Ari goes with you.
[00:35:52] Speaker G: That's fair. And valid.
[00:35:55] Speaker D: Did you just see Melon put her head down on the cutting board? Briefly.
[00:35:59] Speaker F: Whoa. Knife. Okay. Careful.
[00:36:05] Speaker B: Yeah. Milo, you get to the library, like, kind of a half hour before it's closing for the evening.
Yeah. And on the way, Ari says, I know that you aren't the biggest fan of Amali, and that's fair.
She's weird. She did say that if you had questions you guys should ask me, I would guess.
[00:36:32] Speaker A: Like what?
[00:36:33] Speaker B: It's the same thing that happened today, right?
I don't know. She didn't really tell me, like, what kind of.
Apparently only the one got written down.
[00:36:44] Speaker A: But we can just ask you any question.
[00:36:46] Speaker F: What kind of being is the puppet?
[00:36:48] Speaker B: Oh, is it going with yeah.
The library.
[00:36:53] Speaker F: Yeah, why not?
He goes, I'm going.
[00:37:02] Speaker B: She stopped walking and her eyes turn white and she looks up slightly and she says, this is not going to sound as like, as clean as I want it to, in theory, because I have to think about what to say and I couldn't write down every single question you guys could ever ask. So forgive me, she says, you know, a being, as the puppet, it is truly a lost magic spirit who exists because he has intense emotions that keep him trapped.
And she. She comes back.
Did you ask me a question? I'm guessing you did, because I don't remember things.
[00:37:56] Speaker F: Huh. That's cool and weird.
[00:38:01] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:38:02] Speaker A: Myla's eyes are, like, flickering. Like she's looking like Ari in the face and her eyes are like flickering back and forth.
Just paused only by the thought of semi infinite knowledge.
Huh.
[00:38:21] Speaker E: Interesting.
[00:38:22] Speaker C: What's 20 times three?
[00:38:25] Speaker A: Oh, are you here? Are you here, too?
[00:38:27] Speaker B: Did Anna go win?
[00:38:28] Speaker C: Wait.
[00:38:29] Speaker B: Everybody go.
[00:38:29] Speaker C: The library difference. Sorry, sorry.
[00:38:31] Speaker A: No, no, no, no, no, no, no. Anna.
[00:38:34] Speaker C: No, I don't think she'd go. I think she'd keep scrubbing potatoes.
[00:38:38] Speaker A: She just asks Melwyn, what's 20 times 3?
[00:38:41] Speaker G: 60. Why are you asking?
[00:38:43] Speaker B: Got it. You need 60 zucchini slices.
[00:38:46] Speaker D: Jesus Christ.
[00:38:50] Speaker B: I don't know. I think it had. She didn't really tell me what was going on because. Of course she didn't. Because, you know, I think it has something to do with.
With this. She pulls out that. The core quill that you guys had found a while back.
[00:39:10] Speaker F: Oh, she let you keep that?
[00:39:13] Speaker B: Yeah, she said it was mine.
[00:39:16] Speaker F: Great.
[00:39:17] Speaker B: I don't. I don't get that because I didn't find it. But, you know, sure.
[00:39:24] Speaker F: I'm not gonna argue.
[00:39:27] Speaker A: Myla is going to interrupt ID and is going to say, who is Rasha, the original?
[00:39:34] Speaker B: She.
She goes. Her eyes go wide again and she says, hello, Myla. I know you have many questions.
I am what you know, as the creator, I am reincarnated into a form when that form passes.
So I will forever exist, but unfortunately must, unfortunately require assistance.
[00:40:06] Speaker A: So now you're Ari.
[00:40:09] Speaker B: Yes.
Ari comes back. I really don't know why you guys are asking. This is hard.
It's hard to know. You have, like, expressions on your faces, but I don't really know why, you know.
[00:40:25] Speaker A: Oh, my gods.
[00:40:27] Speaker F: Oh, wait, I know this one. What question do you want us to ask?
[00:40:36] Speaker B: Sorry, what?
[00:40:38] Speaker F: Didn't work.
[00:40:39] Speaker B: Fucking brilliant.
[00:40:41] Speaker A: So many questions and so many answers.
[00:40:43] Speaker F: I mean, but everybody's got a preference.
[00:40:46] Speaker D: Wait.
[00:40:50] Speaker B: Are we gonna, like, find books? Or something.
[00:40:52] Speaker A: No.
[00:40:52] Speaker B: Standing here for fun.
[00:40:54] Speaker A: We don't need to.
[00:40:55] Speaker B: Okay.
Should we go eat dinner then?
[00:41:00] Speaker F: Yeah.
[00:41:01] Speaker A: Milo's just standing there staring at.
[00:41:03] Speaker F: What do you want for dinner?
[00:41:05] Speaker B: I. I don't know. Whatever.
[00:41:07] Speaker F: Yeah. See, not. Not every question works.
[00:41:11] Speaker B: Wait, let's get.
[00:41:13] Speaker A: Before we go.
[00:41:14] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:41:16] Speaker A: Who are Melwyn's parents and what is her birthright?
[00:41:20] Speaker B: Melwyn is an unusual daughter of magic and being.
She has one living parent and only ever has had one living parent.
She is unlikely, you think, not a God or in any part, but certainly comes from a once powerful and knowledgeable person.
She has only the birthright that her mother has passed to her, which is simply a strong connection to magic and its sources.
[00:42:15] Speaker D: That's cool.
[00:42:16] Speaker B: Shit.
[00:42:17] Speaker A: Milo takes a step back and her shoulders untense a little bit. She's still staring, but it's less intense and more just watching.
[00:42:28] Speaker B: Okay, so do we go have. Do we go have dinner then?
I guess.
It smelled really good before we left, so I imagine by now it's like kind of close to done. I'm really hungry. Sorry.
Are you okay, Myla?
[00:42:48] Speaker A: Yes, I'm great.
Okay, let's go eat.
[00:42:56] Speaker B: Okay.
Turns and heads back to the end.
You guys. I'm sorry.
You guys make it back to the inn where Melwyn has finished making dinner with Auden's and Nadia's assistant.
And you all have a very nice soup. If you want to try that soup, there's a video about it.
[00:43:23] Speaker D: There is a video about it. You can make this Open Table adventures.
[00:43:26] Speaker A: There you go.
[00:43:27] Speaker G: Oh, you're back, my love. You have an odd look on your. Are you all right?
[00:43:35] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:43:36] Speaker G: Did something h. Did you ask questions?
[00:43:39] Speaker F: Yeah, we did.
[00:43:41] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:43:42] Speaker F: Just so you know, not every question works.
[00:43:45] Speaker G: I figured.
[00:43:46] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:43:47] Speaker F: Like, watch this. What's the best burger.
[00:43:54] Speaker B: There'S a place. Well, okay.
[00:43:57] Speaker F: Okay. Not doing the yellow thing.
[00:43:58] Speaker B: Okay. Hold on.
Well, the place that I worked at made pretty good burgers. And honestly, first burger I had ever, so it was pretty good.
[00:44:10] Speaker F: Hey, that's fair.
[00:44:14] Speaker G: Soup's on.
[00:44:15] Speaker F: Hell yeah, soup.
[00:44:17] Speaker G: I added chicken because.
[00:44:20] Speaker B: Nice.
[00:44:20] Speaker F: Yes. Protein. Thank you.
[00:44:23] Speaker G: You're welcome.
[00:44:25] Speaker B: It just has like a whole chicken breast also on top of it.
[00:44:32] Speaker A: Perfect.
[00:44:34] Speaker B: It's your dip. It's for dipping the chicken dipping in the soup.
[00:44:39] Speaker A: Just give me like five minutes and then I'll be. I'll be here to eat. And Milo's gonna go into her room and pull out her in a feverishly for like five minutes.
[00:44:49] Speaker D: It's not sketchy at all.
[00:44:50] Speaker A: It's not sketchy. It's writing.
[00:44:52] Speaker F: Nice.
[00:44:54] Speaker C: Got him.
[00:44:56] Speaker B: Nailed it.
[00:44:58] Speaker G: So what kinds of questions did you ask?
Was it, like, personal stuff?
[00:45:08] Speaker D: She has curiosity.
[00:45:14] Speaker F: It kind of looks towards the room that Milo's like, writing in my last ones that. I mean, she's gonna go to the library.
[00:45:22] Speaker B: Don't ask them as a question because I think that it will happen again. Don't, please.
[00:45:26] Speaker F: Yo, I got it.
[00:45:27] Speaker B: Just, like, say it.
[00:45:31] Speaker F: I think Milo will tell you but stuff about the person that we think is your mom. Lexia.
[00:45:40] Speaker G: Oh, great.
Cool.
[00:45:44] Speaker F: Yeah. You know my brain go fast. I don't know.
[00:45:49] Speaker G: Yes.
Did you ask about your parents?
[00:45:54] Speaker F: No, I'm pretty sure I was made in a lab.
[00:45:56] Speaker G: Did you?
Do you want to know?
[00:46:00] Speaker F: I don't care.
[00:46:02] Speaker G: That's not okay. That's not really an answer, but okay, I guess.
[00:46:06] Speaker F: No, I think that would just complicate things right now. Maybe later.
[00:46:11] Speaker B: Ari was. Ari was like, fucking mid bite. And she had put her spoon down because she was like, oh, no. And then you said, no. And she's like, okay. Like, you can just see her visibly relax a little bit.
[00:46:24] Speaker G: We weren't going to ask. You realize that, right?
[00:46:28] Speaker B: No, I mean, you can. It's not like it hurts or anything. I just didn't want to, like, drop soup everywhere.
[00:46:35] Speaker G: Oh, I could. I could clean it up. That's not a problem.
[00:46:38] Speaker B: Yeah, but it's more work.
[00:46:40] Speaker G: Not really. It's magic.
[00:46:41] Speaker B: It doesn't matter.
[00:46:42] Speaker G: Magic.
[00:46:43] Speaker B: I guess he doesn't want to ask anyway, so it's fair. I know. Yeah, duh.
[00:46:50] Speaker G: Do you really. Do you not have any questions at all? Did you ask any questions?
[00:46:54] Speaker B: Id?
[00:46:55] Speaker F: Yeah. Can you ask questions to yourself?
[00:46:57] Speaker G: Oh, can you ask questions to yourself?
[00:47:01] Speaker B: I don't think so.
We can try after dinner.
[00:47:06] Speaker G: Only if you.
[00:47:07] Speaker B: This soup is really good, and I just can't really want to eat it.
[00:47:11] Speaker G: Yeah, no, eat. The soup is for eating.
[00:47:15] Speaker B: It's very good. Thank you. Melon.
[00:47:16] Speaker G: It's my dad's recipe.
[00:47:18] Speaker C: Your dad is a great potato wizard.
[00:47:22] Speaker G: Oh, they're both potato lizards.
Many a thing they can do with spuds.
[00:47:29] Speaker B: You come back out, you got your. All your notes taken down.
[00:47:33] Speaker A: I do think it's longer than five minutes. I unfortunately think it's closer to 15.
[00:47:38] Speaker G: My duh.
[00:47:40] Speaker B: That's fair.
[00:47:40] Speaker A: Sorry.
[00:47:41] Speaker C: Come get.
[00:47:42] Speaker A: Sorry, sorry, sorry. I'm here, I'm here, I'm here. She, like, is, like, shaking off her, like, hand from just writing so much.
Where's my seat?
[00:47:55] Speaker C: Kicks out a chair.
[00:48:00] Speaker A: Awesome. I'm gonna go sit.
Eat my soup quietly.
[00:48:09] Speaker B: Ari does eat, like, Three bowls of soup. Like, she's ravenous. She's super hungry.
[00:48:15] Speaker C: Eating for two.
Sorry.
[00:48:20] Speaker F: That's so funny.
[00:48:24] Speaker C: I was, like, trying to pull that one back. I'm sorry. Carry on.
[00:48:30] Speaker A: So Ari is.
She'll look at it. Should we tell them? I think we should. Right. This is important information to share.
[00:48:40] Speaker F: Sure.
[00:48:41] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:48:41] Speaker F: I don't see why not.
[00:48:44] Speaker G: So, Ari has the quill that, you know. Actually. Wait, that explains the.
[00:48:52] Speaker D: Melon. Just kind of gestures around Ari.
[00:48:55] Speaker A: And Ari is an incarnation of Rasha, the original.
[00:49:00] Speaker B: Whoa.
[00:49:01] Speaker G: That's way cool. You should have led with that.
[00:49:04] Speaker C: Whoa.
[00:49:05] Speaker B: Oh, that makes sense. I don't know why she didn't tell me. That feels weird, but I probably should have figured it out myself.
[00:49:15] Speaker A: I mean, it's not the easiest thing to figure out on your own. We had to ask questions.
[00:49:19] Speaker G: So how do you think Amali figured it out?
[00:49:23] Speaker A: Actually, I think Amali probably used some weird magic.
[00:49:31] Speaker B: And do you want to actually, Amyla, do you want to make an intelligence history?
[00:49:35] Speaker A: Yes. Yes, I would love to make a history. Thank the lords and the gods of the magical colors above.
[00:49:43] Speaker D: Can I give her advantage?
[00:49:46] Speaker B: Sure.
[00:49:46] Speaker D: I don't think she needs it. Based on that phase.
[00:49:51] Speaker A: How'S a natural 20 for a 29?
[00:49:56] Speaker F: Damn good name.
[00:49:58] Speaker A: I like being smart. We are so back.
[00:50:03] Speaker B: I love. I love telling you guys lore that I've set up for what feels like a very long time.
Okay, so a reminder that this quill says it's made by Rasha, the original, and its magical properties can only be accessed by Rasha if unattended or used by anyone else. It's a regular quill, however, blah, blah, blah. Short version, it can cast the wish spell once a week. Do you remember when you were back in your storage shed thing in Gosnesh, and Ari was talking.
[00:50:34] Speaker D: That's how she got there.
[00:50:36] Speaker B: And she said, I just wish I could be there. And then she showed up.
Do you remember that?
[00:50:43] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:50:44] Speaker F: Oh, my gosh.
[00:50:45] Speaker B: Molly knows.
[00:50:49] Speaker F: How did we not figure that out?
[00:50:51] Speaker D: Because we were too busy figuring out everything else.
[00:50:55] Speaker B: Yeah, there's a lot going on.
[00:50:56] Speaker F: Yeah. That's fair.
[00:50:59] Speaker B: So Amali sees. Amali sees you guys with this quill, and it's, like, glowing. And she's like, all right. I'm all right. I already know what this thing is. Like, 100% I know what this is. I need to figure this out, because clearly, Ari has something to do with it. And then she just kind of. She, like, saw Ari's memories and was like, oh, yeah, makes sense. And then spent Three weeks, basically being like, hey, I'm not gonna tell you that there's, like, a reincarnation of a thing in you, but I'm gonna just kind of, like, guide you on how to use magic because clearly, you've never done it before. So we're just gonna, like, start with the basics of magic, and eventually your friends will probably tell you what it is, and they'll figure it out, etc.
Yeah.
There's your lore drop.
[00:51:49] Speaker D: That's very cool.
[00:51:52] Speaker B: I wasn't sure when you guys. I thought. Yeah, I. She just said, I wish I could be there, and then she was, so she's never put. She's the only one that can use the wish spell on the quill, right?
[00:52:08] Speaker A: You guys know what this means, right?
We can just fix it.
[00:52:14] Speaker C: We can just make it all better.
[00:52:19] Speaker A: We can beat them.
[00:52:20] Speaker F: Yeah, that is kind of. I mean, we might be able to do it faster without waiting.
[00:52:26] Speaker A: We could just say we wish they were gone.
We wish that you. Your heart was fixed. Id.
[00:52:37] Speaker F: Yeah, that's true.
[00:52:38] Speaker B: With.
[00:52:40] Speaker F: Yeah, it's possible.
[00:52:43] Speaker C: So do we do that, like, right now, or.
[00:52:47] Speaker G: Can she. Can you right now? How did you get here?
[00:52:51] Speaker B: She didn't know that the.
The quill had this property because Amali didn't tell her because. Of course not.
She got here via teleportation circle.
This. She wrote. She actually. Rasha wrote the teleportation circle for the place you guys were at with arcanist Willow, and she teleported there and then found you guys that way.
So does that mean she has the.
[00:53:23] Speaker D: Wish to cast teleportation circle, or does that mean.
[00:53:27] Speaker B: Okay, no, we.
Part of the, like, drawing the teleportation circle is casting it, at least for that. At least for that purpose.
So she just automatically teleported?
So she has not used the wish spell.
Yeah. Ari says. I mean. Yeah, I don't. I don't really. Here's the thing is, I only really know how to do, like, not big magic.
[00:53:59] Speaker A: You've done it before.
You did it to get to us. Anything you dream that we dream we could make real. We could be powerful. We could.
[00:54:10] Speaker B: What if it's. What if it turns out poorly? What if it goes wrong?
[00:54:16] Speaker A: It won't.
[00:54:16] Speaker B: I don't know what I'm doing.
[00:54:17] Speaker A: It won't.
[00:54:19] Speaker B: I did it the one time on accident.
[00:54:21] Speaker A: We have to try, I guess.
[00:54:24] Speaker C: It is your magic. Well, someone else is your magic, but, I mean, we definitely need to try. But don't feel like.
Well, I don't want to say don't feel rushed into it. We do have kind of a timeline, but also if you're not ready, we don't know that much about it, and that sounds scary. And let's start with baby steps. You know, can you.
[00:54:53] Speaker D: How?
[00:54:54] Speaker C: I don't know. Magic. What would be a good baby step?
[00:54:57] Speaker D: How well known are the effects of the wish spell by, like, normal folks that just study magic?
[00:55:05] Speaker B: Not at all.
Not at all. Not a spell that gets cast very often. I could always add, it tends to, like, rewrite itself into, like, deific magic or by some, like, intervention of some kind.
So like, anything like this, you could probably track to like, six or seven times in the entire, like, world's history that this has been done. And it, it 10 it. No one has ever said, like wish spell.
It gets, like, re described as something else.
[00:55:49] Speaker G: Okay.
You only have to do this if you want to, Ari, but maybe start with something smaller than stopping the end of the world.
[00:55:59] Speaker B: Yeah, I mean, I want to, but.
[00:56:01] Speaker G: I mean, yes, but I'm just, I'm.
[00:56:03] Speaker B: Scared it's gonna go wrong and something goes wrong, like, I can't.
[00:56:08] Speaker A: So you're not gonna fix it at all?
[00:56:10] Speaker G: No, Myla.
[00:56:12] Speaker B: No, I, I, I.
[00:56:14] Speaker G: Just finish your dinner, Myla.
[00:56:16] Speaker B: If I could make you do it, then, Ari, I would let you do.
[00:56:21] Speaker G: It, but I don't think you can finish your dinner. And then if you're comfortable with it, we could start with something smaller.
[00:56:31] Speaker B: She's now, like, looking Myla up and down very nervously and continues her dinner.
And then we will pick up there next time.
[00:56:43] Speaker G: Jesus Christ.
[00:56:48] Speaker B: Teehee.
Yay. I love Noor.
[00:56:54] Speaker C: Oh, man, this is going to be missing, guys.
[00:56:56] Speaker B: Tension boy.
Okay, so we will catch you next week. It's gonna be crazy.
