[00:00:00] Speaker A: What's clap? Three, two, one. That was a little slower than normal. Cause I forgot what I was doing after I said the number three. [00:00:10] Speaker B: There's only so many things that could. [00:00:12] Speaker C: Three, four, five. [00:00:14] Speaker A: Well, I was like, what am I doing? [00:00:18] Speaker B: Na na na na. [00:00:32] Speaker A: Oh, my God. I watched. I keep getting HD Hayes clips on. Oh, I love that. So fun to watch. If you've never seen him react to things, it's the best. But, like, there's. He watched all three high school musicals and so I keep getting, like. I watch the songs and stuff. Oh, my God. [00:00:54] Speaker B: Oh, my gosh. I need to do that this afternoon. [00:00:57] Speaker D: Okay. [00:00:57] Speaker E: Am I actually allowed to just call my one shot your goats? It's Halloween. Can I just be the title of mine? Cause I don't wanna come up with anything better. That's so fucking funny. [00:01:07] Speaker D: You're ghost. I'm obsessed with Halloween. Love it. [00:01:11] Speaker E: I texted my friend Matt. Matt Denkels of welcome to Barovia fame and as many all spice commercials that he's now done on TikTok. I texted him because I was like, I need another person. Who can I ask? Fuck it. I'm gonna ask Matt. And I texted Matt and I went, hey, Matt, do you want to be a goat for a one shot? No. [00:01:35] Speaker A: Hi. [00:01:35] Speaker E: No hello. No, how are you doing? Just, hey, Matt, do you want to be a goat for a one shot? I haven't talked to this man since Gen Con. I felt terrible, and I was just like, wait. [00:01:46] Speaker D: Shit. [00:01:46] Speaker E: I should have said hi. Wait. Hi, Matt. I hope you're doing well. Also, do you want to be a goat? [00:01:52] Speaker B: I feel like if anyone started a conversation with me by, hey, do you want to be a goat? I'm all in right out the gate. Like, yeah, let's get my bleat on. [00:02:00] Speaker A: No more questions. That's it. [00:02:01] Speaker D: I've been told by multiple people that. [00:02:03] Speaker E: Me being extremely awkward is very endearing because of the way I go about it. So at least he found it funny. But it could have been really bad. [00:02:14] Speaker B: I'm sure it would have been funny. I feel like a lot of people in this space are in, like, similar, like, oh, yeah, I'll just, hey, you wanna come be a goat? Like, I don't know, it doesn't seem too far out of left field from what I. [00:02:25] Speaker E: Most people start a conversation with hi. That's the thing. That's my thing, is that most people start conversations with hello and not would you like to be a goat? [00:02:38] Speaker A: That's fair. [00:02:38] Speaker E: At least I said it was for a one shot. I could have just said, would you like to go? Just leave it at that and nothing else. [00:02:46] Speaker D: This is so off topic and probably old news by the time this episode comes out. But can we just take like 3 seconds of adoration and appreciation for Chapel Roan's VMA's performance. [00:02:57] Speaker B: Oh, my God. [00:03:00] Speaker D: Queen, queen, queen, queen, queen. [00:03:03] Speaker A: I thought I was an atheist, but. [00:03:06] Speaker D: God is a woman. [00:03:11] Speaker A: No. Well, and then also, this is so nerdy. But also I saw Lisa from Blackpink performed. Cause she's also, like, solo artist. So I was like, man, I wanna be there. Can I be there? I wanna see Chapel. I wanna see k pop. Please. [00:03:30] Speaker D: Well, Anastasia, do you know where I wanna be? In the inked expanse? [00:03:35] Speaker A: Oh, I could. You know, I'm a little, like. I'm a little. Nah about it. You know, could go either way. [00:03:43] Speaker D: Welcome to spells and whistles, a D and D five e podcast. [00:03:45] Speaker B: Normal. [00:03:46] Speaker D: D and d, five e if you haven't been around. [00:03:49] Speaker A: Except for exhaustion. [00:03:51] Speaker B: Oh, except for exhaustion. [00:03:53] Speaker D: Oh, true. Except for exhaustion. Welcome to the inked expanse, where we ask our friends to be goats and God is a woman. Just like, realize God. [00:04:06] Speaker A: There are many gods, and some of them are women, and some of them are not. [00:04:10] Speaker E: Wait, does this episode come out before Halloween? [00:04:13] Speaker D: I don't know. [00:04:14] Speaker B: I check the calendar. [00:04:16] Speaker E: I don't know if it does. [00:04:17] Speaker A: Think so? I feel like we're not that far behind. [00:04:22] Speaker D: Worst case, we can throw it in the extras reel. [00:04:25] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:04:26] Speaker D: Worst case, we'll throw it in the extras reel. [00:04:30] Speaker C: Welcome to spozen western. [00:04:31] Speaker A: All right. [00:04:32] Speaker C: And also. [00:04:37] Speaker D: Welcome to spells and whistles, where God is a woman. [00:04:40] Speaker E: There you go. [00:04:40] Speaker B: Just click on the first Sunday of October. [00:04:43] Speaker D: Okay. There we go. [00:04:45] Speaker B: So maybe that'll be announced to the public by then. I don't know. [00:04:47] Speaker E: We'll see. [00:04:48] Speaker B: We'll test the waters when we get to the edit, and if not, we can just. [00:04:50] Speaker E: Current recording date is set for Sunday, the 29th of this month. [00:04:54] Speaker B: Oh, sorry. [00:04:55] Speaker E: So, wiggle room. Wiggle room for one shot. I haven't finished writing. [00:05:02] Speaker D: It's okay. [00:05:03] Speaker E: It's okay. It's fine. I totally gm on a normal basis and know what I'm doing. [00:05:08] Speaker D: I make sense. [00:05:09] Speaker B: You've got a whole 17 days. You'll be great. [00:05:14] Speaker E: I said I would do it. And then, like, literally the day after, I was just like, what the fuck am I doing? Why did I say that? [00:05:23] Speaker B: I feel like fire, while stressful, can be a very effective teacher. That's how, like, every food service job I've ever had, one of the most. [00:05:33] Speaker E: Where it's like ancient moments of regret I've ever had in my entire life. I think it's gonna be fun, and it's gonna be the least serious thing. Not the least serious thing I've ever done, but the least serious thing. [00:05:45] Speaker D: In. [00:05:45] Speaker B: The pile of unseriousness. [00:05:47] Speaker E: That's fine. [00:05:49] Speaker D: Speaking of a pile of unseriousness. Sorry. No, you're good. You're good. I just like trying to transition things at weird times because I think it's funny. [00:06:03] Speaker A: Okay, so last time in the morning, Ari agrees to the surgery that Myla performed the night before on id in order to slow down their internal system countdowns that is going on. It's weird. The surgery goes perfectly, and Aria experiences the same energetic side effect that id did, though hers lasts throughout the day and doesn't mess up her sleep schedule because this time they were smart about it. The group leaves to head to Tetros by horse and cart. Classic. After a few days, they stop to camp by the lake that crosses the Gaznash tetros border, and Auden goes for what turns out to be a very emotional swim. Their home mentor, Nador, has been exiled to this lake, can no longer speak, and is dying. Auden spends a lot of time talking to Naidor, sharing memories of the past few months as Nador finally rests. With Auden's help. And none of us cried, because that would be crazy. So that definitely didn't happen. So you guys are headed out for the next day in tetros. This is your first full day adventuring into the desert lands, like this massive section of continent that is just kind of almost the entire north half of this, like, giant continent island is just abandoned, at least assumed to be abandoned desert with huge sand dunes. So it's, like, slow going, very minimal roads. And if there are roads, they're probably, like, covered in sandhya and occasional, like, rock structures and things. That's pretty much the only thing you see for as far as you can. [00:08:00] Speaker D: What have been the vibes from everyone as we've been traveling? What's been, like? How have people been, like, interacting, like, normally abnormally talkative? Not. [00:08:10] Speaker B: I feel like since Auden's, like, experience, she has been a little less peppy, probably either sitting, like, off the back of the cart or kind of walking in the back, claiming that it's to keep an eye on things, but there's definitely an air of just needs some space kind of vibes. [00:08:40] Speaker A: Nadia is probably sitting back there too, because she is very good at not talking. So she's like, completely ignoring you as well, but it's just, like, the least awkward space to sit in for her. [00:08:54] Speaker C: I think id is being pretty alert. This region has a lot of unknowns. Even though it seems barren, there's still, like, ecology and lots of people traveling through here to go from the north to the south if they can't use the gates. And that can be sketchy, especially if they're people that can't or don't want to use the gates. [00:09:29] Speaker A: Yeah, I would say the number of people you see is, like, one per day. You know, like, one traveling, like, it's so minimal because typically, if people don't want to use the gates, they just stay in their region, which very much, like, isolates auspy because they're way up there. So a lot of people from AuSPI haven't been anywhere, or they are just very trusting of the whole portal gate system. So the number of people traveling through here is very, very minimal. [00:10:08] Speaker F: I would say melon looks like she's. [00:10:10] Speaker E: Got a lot on her mind. Mostly just kind of sitting somewhere in the middle, playing with yarn occasionally and keeping an eye on ID and Ari in case of one of them just kind of keels over, I guess. I don't know. [00:10:24] Speaker A: Yarn is like. Yarn is being so dramatic, and it's like, ugh, it's so hot. [00:10:30] Speaker B: Oh, my God. [00:10:32] Speaker A: Just doing that all the time. And then sometimes it's just, like, limp leaf, and then sometimes it's like, just. Yeah, they're just not having a. They're having a hard time with it. [00:10:46] Speaker F: Yeah. When I show a plant, don't you need sunlight? [00:10:51] Speaker A: Yeah, but that's, like, too much. [00:10:55] Speaker F: Have you thought about sitting. Not in the sun. It's hot still. Okay, my point still stands. [00:11:07] Speaker A: And they just, like, flop on your shoulder and then, like, slowly fall off of your arm onto, like, the floor of the cart. Just, like, land face down. Like, I don't like it here. Ari's probably sitting up front with id, like, keeping an eye on things and trying to, like, occasionally thinking about asking id about stuff and then decides not to. So there are a couple moments where she, like, leans over, like, she just say something and then, like, doesn't. It's mostly silent. [00:11:42] Speaker C: I think it gets pretty annoyed by that. What? [00:11:49] Speaker A: What? [00:11:50] Speaker C: You keep. [00:11:51] Speaker A: Sorry. [00:11:53] Speaker C: Just commit if you're gonna do it. [00:11:59] Speaker E: Fucking full senbro. Sorry. I'll mute. [00:12:05] Speaker A: I don't. No, I don't. I don't know what? Yeah. [00:12:12] Speaker C: Cool. [00:12:14] Speaker A: Yep. [00:12:15] Speaker C: Profound conversation we're having. [00:12:21] Speaker A: Hey, Mila, do you want to trade what? [00:12:25] Speaker D: Oh, sure. Yeah. [00:12:28] Speaker A: Okay. She just gets upset. [00:12:31] Speaker E: That's how you know, it's awkward. Ari wants away from id. [00:12:38] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:12:38] Speaker A: Mila goes, what about Mila? Vibe's been like, oh, yeah, you asked the question, nerd. [00:12:50] Speaker C: Objection. [00:12:50] Speaker D: Milo has been poring over not just like, her own journal, but has, like, I'm assuming from, like, either our quick escape through the institute or even just, like, throughout the months of travel, she's picked up, like, odd magic books. And so she's like, sort of, like, looking through things. And so when Ari says that and is like, hey, Myla, she kind of, like, startles a little bit and she jumps because she was so, like, deep in the spiral, she's like, oh, that works out perfect. And she goes and she sits next to id. Hey, id, I have a question for you. [00:13:29] Speaker A: Sure. [00:13:29] Speaker C: What's up? [00:13:31] Speaker D: Cool. So I should probably also ask this to Melwyn. Cause I know Melwyn does this kind of magic a lot too. But you do a lot of magic that's in your blood and stuff like that that has to do with you being a person. Well, she's asking mainly about because you're part sorcerer, right? So, like, that's an innate ability. So she just sort of. Okay, yeah, she turns in. She's like, so I have a question. You know, a lot of people associate, like, like, white magic and stuff with, like, structure and peace. And there's also some sort of, like. Like, almost like a divinity aspect to some magics that I frankly do not know nor care to know. But I don't know. You have different kinds of magic than me. So I was just wondering, do you know anything about that? Like, if I wanted to, like, well, not like I per se, but, like, if somebody wanted to, like, learn more about that, what would, you know? [00:14:35] Speaker E: Read a book, loser. I don't know. Sorry. [00:14:39] Speaker A: Get a library card, nerd. [00:14:42] Speaker B: Support your local library. [00:14:43] Speaker D: I'm just saying that your magic is, like, linked to your sentience, kind of. Right. And I just am, like, a little interested in that. So I just wanted to, like, ask. [00:14:51] Speaker C: You about it, sentience and that I have to be alive to use it. I mean, it's mostly from the heart. [00:15:00] Speaker D: Yeah, but it's, like a part of you that's true. [00:15:05] Speaker C: I don't know what you're getting at. [00:15:07] Speaker D: It's different from, like, the kind of magic I do. Okay, so, like, uh, how is it different? Like, that's actually. How do you. How do you access it? [00:15:17] Speaker F: Did you have magic before they put this stuff in you? [00:15:20] Speaker C: I don't know, I don't think I would have been old enough. Maybe they tracked that, but I don't. I don't think. I don't have any memories of before I. The institute, and I don't really have any memories. Not the institute, the lab. I don't have any memories from before the lab, and I certainly don't have any memories of before having a piece of metal in my chest. So I don't know. We didn't find any stuff about that when we were in there. [00:15:54] Speaker D: How does it feel when you cast magic? [00:16:00] Speaker C: It kind of feels like turning an engine on. [00:16:04] Speaker D: Or, like, too soon. [00:16:08] Speaker C: Really? [00:16:10] Speaker D: Joking. I j. I am laughing, but Mila just is, like, I'm joking. Like, completely straight faced. Oh, no. [00:16:21] Speaker C: Or, like, revving it. I don't know how this going already. [00:16:27] Speaker D: Okay. Gotcha. [00:16:32] Speaker C: I guess there is something about, like. And I get the instinct of it being different. [00:16:37] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:16:38] Speaker C: Does that make sense? Like, you have to purposefully, like. [00:16:42] Speaker D: No, that makes sense. [00:16:43] Speaker C: It makes. It feels like you, like, choose, like, the thing. And sometimes I'm just. I just want something to happen, and then usually a thing happens. [00:16:56] Speaker D: Okay. So. And she sort of turns to Melvin, who's now kind of also here, a little bit, like, over, I'm assuming, like, the back, like, seat part of the car. [00:17:06] Speaker E: She's, like, in the middle. [00:17:07] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:17:08] Speaker E: Somewhere. And she'll turn happy medium. [00:17:10] Speaker D: And she'll turn to both and just be like. So, when I cast magic, it very much feels like there's, like, an internal anchor point and my internal anchor point. It kind of feels like it's at, like, the base of my neck. That's where the magic starts and where it comes from. So, do you guys have an anchor point, or. How does that work? [00:17:38] Speaker C: The heart that's pumping magic into my blood, it's not anchor shaped. You saw it. [00:17:48] Speaker D: No, it's not anchor shaped. That's correct. It's barely even heart shaped. So. [00:17:53] Speaker A: Man, it's anchor. It's not anchor shaped. Might be one of my favorites. Put it on a. Dude, it's not anchor shaped. That's crazy. [00:18:12] Speaker D: Well, what I do love that the. [00:18:14] Speaker E: Two charisma casters are, like, the most straight man in the party, also at the same time. [00:18:20] Speaker A: Oh, God. [00:18:21] Speaker F: Um, sort of the same thing. It's kind of. Where does my magic come from? Because it was. It was from the. From the. From the weird puppet, the evil puppet. And then. [00:18:32] Speaker D: Yes. [00:18:33] Speaker F: Yeah, sure. [00:18:36] Speaker E: She wasn't too sure. [00:18:39] Speaker F: Uh, yeah. Um, it was like that before, and all the healing stuff. I was kind of born with that, I think maybe. Maybe not. My dad's found me somewhere. I don't have a lot of answers on that stuff. [00:18:56] Speaker D: Hmm. Interesting. [00:18:59] Speaker F: It's a good question, though. [00:19:02] Speaker E: The. [00:19:02] Speaker F: The spell book stuff is a little bit different, though, because I learned that from my dad. [00:19:07] Speaker D: Yeah. Okay. Um. Okay, well, that was a. That Myla sort of thinks for a second. Okay, so I need to keep looking. That's okay. [00:19:24] Speaker F: I'm sorry, but are you looking for exactly, Myla? [00:19:27] Speaker D: Yes. [00:19:29] Speaker A: Um. [00:19:29] Speaker E: Oh, it didn't pick. I love a discord. So much playing melon. It's my favorite thing. Really great time for me to eat a gummy shark. Okay. [00:19:38] Speaker B: I wish I had gummy sharks. [00:19:40] Speaker E: I lost my shit in the grocery store on Sunday because my local grocery store doesn't have them. And then I went to a different one, and I was like, gummy sharks. And my friend was like, are you okay? And I was like, no. [00:19:54] Speaker F: But what exactly are you looking for, Mila? [00:19:58] Speaker D: Oh, well, I mean, obviously, like, I've used magic before to power sentience in a way. You could tell by this. And she summons her otter with a gun. I have two other ones, by the way. It's not just the otter with a gun, I promise you, and sort of, like, cool down the sea. So, like, I use that to, like, magic, to power something, to create a sentient, like force. But I recently encountered some magic that was sentient itself, and I've never felt that before, and it was really interesting. So now I'm just really curious about it. [00:20:34] Speaker E: That one slowly points to Yaren looking confused. [00:20:38] Speaker D: Yes, that is Yaron. [00:20:39] Speaker A: Yaren, who is still face down on the bottom of the card. [00:20:42] Speaker F: Were you talking about. Well, I guess he's a thief right now, but were you talking about Yarin? [00:20:48] Speaker D: Oh, no, I. Yaren, if you stay. [00:20:50] Speaker F: A leaf, you're gonna blow away in the wind. [00:20:53] Speaker D: Oh, that's true. [00:20:54] Speaker A: I don't really care. [00:20:55] Speaker F: That's fine. [00:20:56] Speaker E: That's goodbye yarn. [00:21:02] Speaker D: I just, you know, was just wondering how it worked, because it's not something I had really encountered before, so. [00:21:11] Speaker C: Yeah, I can't really do that. The day that we meth them, when they kind of got kidnapped in front of us in the street, I made that, like, goopy copy of myself, but that felt more like looking through a spyglass than like, making another person. Okay, that's the closest I got. [00:21:38] Speaker D: When we're in town next, I want to look into books about it. [00:21:43] Speaker C: Sure. I mean, the ruins are here. I don't know. There's not a lot out there. But I've heard that there's, like, carvings of stuff sometimes. [00:21:56] Speaker D: Hmm. That may be interesting. All right, thanks. That's it. [00:22:02] Speaker A: Cool. [00:22:03] Speaker D: Hey, Ari, did you want to switch again, or did you want to stay back there? [00:22:07] Speaker A: No, I'm good. [00:22:08] Speaker F: You could switch with yarn. [00:22:11] Speaker A: I still don't really know what yarn is. [00:22:13] Speaker E: Oh, that was to Milo. We don't either. It's okay. [00:22:23] Speaker D: Yarn is in a place that I do not fit as a full size person. So what do you mean, is on the floor? Yeah, that's a really small space on the floor. If I got down there, then yours feet would be on me, and that's kind of gross. So I'm just gonna go sit with Auden. Hi. I'm gonna just, like, awkwardly climb over. [00:22:44] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:22:44] Speaker D: And go sit down. [00:22:45] Speaker A: We're gonna say that you guys got a. You had the forethought to get a covered cart, so you're not, like, dying of heat stroke all the time. [00:22:52] Speaker E: So yarn really is just being a baby. [00:22:54] Speaker A: Okay. Woof. No. Yeah, yeah. Yarn is. [00:22:59] Speaker B: Yarn is so baby. [00:23:01] Speaker D: Yarn is so baby. [00:23:02] Speaker A: Yarn just stays baby. So it starts to as is. The desert way gets very hot in the day, but very, very cold at night. So you're figuring out the best way to camp and trying to kind of keep all of the chill out. It's tough because the sand itself just gets cold, but, like, keeping the wind out from via the cart and stuff. On your first full day, Auden, you're, like, having a tough time with this, like, emotionally exhausted, but also, like, it is so hot. There is no water with invisible sight. Like, it's. You just feel like you're shriveling. [00:23:50] Speaker B: I do have wall of water as, like, a spell that I just know. And so I think that, like, I can only cast it once a day, but I think every time we take, like, a lunch break, I think she makes, like, a above ground pool. If anyone wants to, like, you know, stick your hands in, you know, drench your clothes and water to evaporate and whatever. Like, she. She's doing that every day while we're traveling, while it's super, super hot. [00:24:18] Speaker A: Yeah, for sure. Because you are a. Because you are a Triton who lived underwater. The desert is very hard. So I've added a, like, constitution, save for every day that DC is 15, so it's not, like, impossible, but it's just, like, how well are you specifically holding up to, like, middle of the desert conditions? So we will just do this at night, like, before ylang rest. [00:24:50] Speaker B: Am I making it at disadvantage or anything? [00:24:53] Speaker A: No. [00:24:53] Speaker B: Okay, well, it doesn't matter. Cause I did roll a natural one. [00:24:57] Speaker A: Okay. So the next day, you will wake up with one level of exhaustion just from, like, sleeping very uncomfortably, just really not having a good time. I did nothing. We're gonna. We'll cut this out. But I didn't. I didn't send that to you beforehand. Meg. Is that okay with that gone or anything? Okay. Do what you want, like, ruin your life. [00:25:26] Speaker B: But no, I think it's very fitting, considering all of the. All of the different elements at play here. I think that makes a lot of sense narratively. I am chilling. I explain. [00:25:40] Speaker A: If you feel picked on, you can let me know, and I won't do it to you. [00:25:44] Speaker B: No, I don't care. [00:25:46] Speaker E: I put it in side chat. [00:25:48] Speaker F: But would there be a way for. [00:25:49] Speaker E: Myla and Melan to work together with magic and arcane tinkering to make some kind of heating situation for nighttime? [00:25:55] Speaker A: Yeah, make whatever checks you want. I trust you guys to figure it out. [00:25:59] Speaker D: So I want to use my tools. [00:26:04] Speaker E: Because with, like, prestidigitation, you can heat up an area, like, a small area, basically. So I'm wondering if we can, like, perpetual prestidigitation so melon doesn't have to cast an all night. I will give you advantage, I guess, because. I guess Melon's just assisting with this because you don't roll for cantrips unless it's an attack. [00:26:23] Speaker D: So, I mean, you can make, like, an arcana check or maybe, like, a spell attack. [00:26:27] Speaker A: That's what I was thinking is, like, maybe an arcana check. [00:26:29] Speaker D: He's in it. Completely up to you. [00:26:36] Speaker E: I'm glad I rolled, actually. That's a dirty 20. [00:26:38] Speaker D: I got a 23 on my tools. Check. [00:26:40] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:26:41] Speaker E: Twelve plus eight. Dirty 20. [00:26:44] Speaker A: Yeah, sure. I don't think it's something that. Yeah, I think it would essentially be. You'd have to redo it every, like, 4 hours or so. That shouldn't be a problem with rests and things or watches. Yeah. [00:27:00] Speaker E: The idea is that, like, prestidigitation lasts an hour, so Mellon not having to stay up all night to cast this every hour was probably nice. [00:27:10] Speaker B: Sleigh. [00:27:11] Speaker A: Yeah. So it lasts, like, 4 hours at a time. So you have to cast it sometime in the middle of the night. But if you line up your watch that way or something, then it shouldn't matter. A hot water bottle, basically. It's not actually a hot water bottle, but it's, like, the equivalent of holding, like, a rice pack or something. So you could do this multiple times if you wanted. You just have to cast the cantrip book a few times. [00:27:36] Speaker E: It's a cantrip, grace. [00:27:38] Speaker B: Those gummy sharks look so good. [00:27:40] Speaker E: They're so dangerous to have when I need to be recording and, like, talking. I had them out during shadow run on Tuesday, and I put a whole one in my mouth right before the DM was. The game master was like, hey, so what is your character, Mavis, doing? And I was like, fuck, we're in combat, and I need to talk those terrible times on my part. Cause I could see the initiative, and. [00:28:03] Speaker F: I still thought it was a good. [00:28:04] Speaker E: Idea to put a gummi shark in my mouth right before it was my turn. [00:28:07] Speaker B: Gummi shark waits for no man. Gummy shark is initiative. Every number. I'll donate my hot water packet to Yaron or Ari or Nadia or someone who needs one. I'm resistant to the cold. I think Auden's doing the sand snake thing of kind of burying herself in the sand a little bit, where it's maybe a little cooler, even. [00:28:30] Speaker E: I mean, if Yaron's just committing to sticking with melon. Melon probably, like, has hers, and then Yaron's probably just like, get in there. [00:28:39] Speaker A: Aw, yeah. [00:28:41] Speaker E: Such a dramatic little bean. [00:28:43] Speaker D: Lila will always take extra heat, too. She's like, it's fricking cold. I hate it. [00:28:48] Speaker E: Can't you make your own? [00:28:50] Speaker D: I did make my own. It's not enough. [00:28:53] Speaker A: Yarn plasters themselves to the thing that you're holding just as a leaf, like, flat on the thing, and it's like, just. It's like the sticker now just stuck. [00:29:05] Speaker B: Like a sesame leaf getting cooked. [00:29:09] Speaker A: Like, face forward. Yeah. [00:29:11] Speaker C: It has made a tiny little tent where, like, the top of it. He's just took his cloak and put it, like, on top of his head and just, like, put the sides of it, like, under the sand, and then it's just like, like, sitting upright, but fetal position with the water bottle, like, between his knees and his chest, and there's just, like, a little slit of, like, open cloak in front of him, and he's just, like, huddled. [00:29:35] Speaker B: I know that this is not the actual image, but it's making me think of Dracula from Hotel Transylvania a little bit. [00:29:42] Speaker E: I'll be so real. I don't know if it's sad or funny at this point. [00:29:46] Speaker D: It's giving the end of Phantom of the opera when he goes under the seat. [00:29:54] Speaker B: And sucked under the sand by its spoiler. [00:29:57] Speaker D: Alert for Phantom of the opera, the Broadway musical. Well, it's closed, so it doesn't matter. [00:30:02] Speaker A: Anymore, but or heard the longest running Broadway music. [00:30:06] Speaker B: I can't remember anything. [00:30:07] Speaker D: You can watch the 25th anniversary Royal Albert hall version featuring Rameen Karumi, Sierra Bogus and Hadley. Oh, gosh, what's his last name? I don't remember his last name. Shit. I don't remember his last name. [00:30:18] Speaker B: He fake theater major. [00:30:20] Speaker A: Our next podcast is gonna be called Slime Tutorials. [00:30:25] Speaker D: That's a funny. You know, a theater podcast called Slime Tutorials. Please. [00:30:33] Speaker E: I know what our next project is. Together theater majors, grow up. [00:30:38] Speaker D: I know what we're gonna do today. [00:30:40] Speaker A: Yeah, really? [00:30:41] Speaker E: Anyway. [00:30:42] Speaker A: All right, so Nadia and Ari, also pretty cold. Of course, the horse from like, working all day in the sun is pretty okay, actually. All night. Horses are pretty good at keeping their own body heat. And also it's just like, wearing off. [00:31:05] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:31:06] Speaker E: Did we get two? [00:31:08] Speaker B: We have two horses. [00:31:09] Speaker D: I think we do. [00:31:10] Speaker A: I think we have. All right, you're two horses then. [00:31:12] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:31:13] Speaker B: I only know because I just edited. [00:31:14] Speaker D: That episode in which I love us very much. What are we doing this episode? [00:31:20] Speaker B: Okay, sorry. [00:31:21] Speaker D: This is me reigning us in a little bit. What are we doing this episode? [00:31:26] Speaker E: Who fucking knows? [00:31:27] Speaker A: We're establishing the first day in Tetras to say we do this for the next like three, four days. Okay, that's where we were getting to. That's fine. I'm not making you describe every day, but this goes on for the next three days. On the fourth day, Nadia says, okay, I think we made it to where? I don't know. This is kind of what I remember. She's looking around at the same sand dunes and somehow marking it as like I've been here before. And she's like, I think I remember that rock formation in the distance right there. Can. Alright, hopefully after the last like, week and a half, you guys have figured out how to trust me. But can I have the quill for like two minutes? [00:32:22] Speaker B: Look over at Melbourne? Hanging on the quill. [00:32:25] Speaker A: What am I gonna do? Run off into the dunes? [00:32:29] Speaker F: Well, I don't know. Your magic's weird. [00:32:32] Speaker A: I'm not gonna do anything with it. I just need to hold it. [00:32:35] Speaker E: Melon will look to Mila. [00:32:37] Speaker D: Oh. Hmm. Yeah, sure. But I want to come with you. [00:32:46] Speaker A: I'm not going anywhere. [00:32:49] Speaker D: Oh, okay. That's okay. [00:32:51] Speaker A: Great. [00:32:51] Speaker D: I'm just gonna be like, right next to you while you have the quilt. [00:32:55] Speaker A: I'm so glad you trust me then. [00:32:58] Speaker D: Yeah, I do trust you with this quill and me standing next to you. [00:33:05] Speaker E: All right, Melvin will hand it over. [00:33:06] Speaker A: Then she holds it. She jumps off the back of the cart, which is standing still at this point because she has asked the cart to stop. She just kind of jumps off the back so that she's standing on the sand, and she says. She just holds up this quill and says, hey, I have it. You want it? Hey. She does this for, like, five minutes. [00:33:38] Speaker F: A sandman? I'm not sure. Other sand people in tetros. [00:33:43] Speaker B: Could I make a perception check to see if I can see any movement from either, like, humanoid people or, like, creatures? [00:33:52] Speaker A: Sure. [00:33:53] Speaker B: Oh, do I still have my exhaustion on this day? [00:33:57] Speaker A: Good question. We would have had to roll for the last three days. [00:34:03] Speaker B: 19 plus stuff. 15 plus stuff. Another natural one. [00:34:09] Speaker A: You would have one level? Yeah. Yeah. [00:34:11] Speaker B: Okay. [00:34:12] Speaker A: My previous one would have slept off by now. [00:34:14] Speaker B: This is so bad of me. I should have. Okay. We have it, actually, in resources, don't we? [00:34:19] Speaker D: Yes, we do. [00:34:22] Speaker B: I did not roll very well, so I honestly don't think it even matters. [00:34:26] Speaker A: You reduce by two times your exhaustion level. [00:34:29] Speaker B: Okay. A dirty one. [00:34:32] Speaker A: Okay, man. You're pretty sure you've heard of sand people, and, like, there's some weird swirly things happening on some of the dunes, but it's in, like, all the directions. [00:34:43] Speaker F: Milo, grab it. Milo. Are the sand people in tetros? [00:34:48] Speaker D: Oh, that's actually a really good question from what I remember in my studies. Can I make a history check to see if there. [00:34:55] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:34:55] Speaker A: I was like, hey, you don't get to just make shit up about my world. This is how this works. This is the dumbest bit, and I've. [00:35:02] Speaker E: Gotten two rolls out of it. Yes. [00:35:05] Speaker A: History check. [00:35:09] Speaker D: Speaking of history checks, if you want to hear more lore. [00:35:13] Speaker E: Oh, my God. [00:35:18] Speaker D: The inked expanse. You can check out history check, boss guy. Or history chess. [00:35:21] Speaker A: Even specifically tetris. [00:35:23] Speaker D: Even specifically tetris. I rolled a natural 14 plus nine is a 23. We'd love a good two. Three in this. [00:35:33] Speaker A: Yeah, there's, like, no. There's been no, like, scientific evidence that sand people exist. It's. It's typically, like, a kid's story that people tell each other because it's fun and weird and so there's no, like, you know, it's kind of the same level as, like, mermaids in our world. Like, there's no evidence of it. [00:35:53] Speaker C: Evil version of dust bunnies. [00:35:55] Speaker A: Yeah, exactly. It's like the tasmanian devil. You know? [00:36:00] Speaker D: Those are so real. [00:36:02] Speaker C: That was real. [00:36:04] Speaker A: Are you thinking of the Jersey devil? Mythological creature? [00:36:08] Speaker D: Milo will turn to Melvin and say, so, from what I remember from my history studies and stuff. Desand people only appear during the full moons of the hottest nights and the coldest days, which means that they're probably just stories. So I would say that they're probably not real. [00:36:29] Speaker E: Mellon looks mildly disappointed. [00:36:33] Speaker A: I would like to point out that tasmanian devil is. Is a real thing, but it is also, like, semi mythological. There's a mythological version of it? I was not entirely incorrect. [00:36:46] Speaker B: No, I only knew about the real guys. I learned something new today. [00:36:51] Speaker D: Wow. So probably no sand people around, but I'm gonna continue standing next to Nadia. And Myla is also just going to cast a detect magic while we're standing here, just in case, over the course of the next. [00:37:11] Speaker A: Oh, I have a feat. [00:37:12] Speaker D: How long is it last? Ten minutes. [00:37:14] Speaker E: I have a feat that lets me cast that for free. Shit, it's been so long. I'm gonna also cast the technology. [00:37:22] Speaker A: It's been, like, four days. [00:37:25] Speaker E: I didn't use it the last time we played. [00:37:29] Speaker B: It's been forever. [00:37:31] Speaker A: So you're both doing it. Are you using a spell slot j. Because you won't. [00:37:35] Speaker D: Yes, I am. [00:37:36] Speaker A: The ritual cast in time? [00:37:37] Speaker D: Yes, I have already marked it off. [00:37:40] Speaker A: Okay, are you also Melwin or are you just. [00:37:43] Speaker E: I don't. I can cast it at will. [00:37:45] Speaker A: Okay, so that's a yes? [00:37:47] Speaker D: Yeah. Okay. [00:37:49] Speaker A: Just taking I can just doesn't mean. [00:37:53] Speaker E: I don't need to. [00:37:56] Speaker A: All right, so you both, like, see that Nadia is holding this thing up and this. This quill in the air, and it is, like, emanating, like, rainbows. It's kind of like seeing, like, rainbows in some mist. You know, it's. It's just kind of expanding from the quill upwards and, like, into the sky. But your range is only 30ft, so you only see it 30ft up, and then you can't see it after that, but you assume that it probably goes further. [00:38:27] Speaker D: So do we just stand here? [00:38:30] Speaker B: Are they gonna come to us, or do we need to be a little closer to wherever they are, or. [00:38:35] Speaker A: Nadia keeps ignoring. Nadia's ignoring you guys fully, and it's just doing this shouting thing, and then a couple minutes later, it's like, all right, that should be good. Here you go. And then just hands the quill back to Mylae. What? [00:38:48] Speaker F: Hmm? [00:38:49] Speaker C: Nothing happened. [00:38:51] Speaker A: They should find us eventually. [00:38:53] Speaker C: I mean, eventually. [00:38:54] Speaker A: I don't really know how it works. [00:38:56] Speaker B: Must have really good hearing. [00:38:58] Speaker A: I don't know. That's just what I do. [00:39:01] Speaker C: How long did the last time take? [00:39:02] Speaker B: Good question. [00:39:03] Speaker A: Couple days. [00:39:05] Speaker F: So are we just aimlessly wandering Tetris, then? [00:39:09] Speaker A: Yep. [00:39:10] Speaker E: Grace has feelings on that. All right. [00:39:13] Speaker D: A city we could go to that's nearby in the next day or so that has, like, I don't know, like, some books or, like, a library or people who practice magic really well, specifically relating to divinity or. [00:39:31] Speaker A: Milo. You're smart. So I would assume that you would know that there are no settlements or cities active in tetras. [00:39:44] Speaker C: Yeah, there's the ruins. And that's pretty. I mean, nobody lives there. [00:39:49] Speaker A: No one lives here, Mila, except for the Sandman. Oh, yeah, right. [00:39:57] Speaker E: Yeah. Except dirt man lives here on the. [00:40:00] Speaker D: Hottest nights in the coldest days. Ooh. [00:40:04] Speaker B: I'm a little worried because it's, like, pretty hot today. Like, she kind of, like, looks around, like, shifty. [00:40:11] Speaker D: Are you feeling too warm? [00:40:13] Speaker B: It's a desert, and we're sitting in the sun. Don't be a negative Nelly, castione. [00:40:22] Speaker E: That's not a weird question for you, Anastasia. [00:40:25] Speaker A: Yes. [00:40:26] Speaker E: Where on the map in tetros, approximately are we? [00:40:30] Speaker A: The left side of the t in tetros on the map? [00:40:37] Speaker E: Got it. [00:40:38] Speaker A: It's cool. It's a. I don't have any other landmarks. [00:40:47] Speaker B: By that sand dune over there. [00:40:49] Speaker A: Fucking desert. [00:40:53] Speaker B: You mentioned that there might be stuff, like, carved into some of these ruins, and ruins are shelter, which might make our nights a little more pleasant. There's some I can kind of see. She's, like, pointing off toward presumably, where some ruins or structures or, you know, like, rocks or whatever. [00:41:12] Speaker E: Dune. [00:41:13] Speaker B: Yeah, like, there's some over there. And if this person's just gonna come and find us, we might as well be somewhere that's a little more comfortable. [00:41:21] Speaker D: That'd be fine. I like that idea. [00:41:24] Speaker C: I'd be fine with that. [00:41:25] Speaker A: All right. Nadia, like, hops back onto the car. Who's driving? [00:41:30] Speaker B: I almost said mylet. That's not who I am. Auden will grab the rain and just kind of, like, you know, like, grumbling a little bit, like, kidnap you. And you just expect us to drive you around everywhere. She'll climb into the driver's seat and start kind of guiding our horses and the cart over toward these ruins. [00:41:58] Speaker A: Absolutely. You haven't seen any ruins that you've just seen. Big rock, big rocks in the distance. You make it there at, like, just after nightfall. Like, you. We can go a little bit further, and we'll get there, even though it'll be cold. And typically, we stop earlier than this, just out of camp, like, we're almost there, and you kind of come over this sand dune, which, by the way, has been really hell for your cart. Like, the cart is not having. The horses are working really extra hard to pull a cart with people in it through the sand. But you guys come over the sand dune, and you kind of see in this, like, valley ish area that is made partially by sand dune and partially by rock, like, craggy rocks poking up out of the sandheen. Like, red rocks and everything. They're, like, kind of nestled at the base is what seems to be some kind of village or something that looks like no one's living there because half of it is covered in sand. The other half of it is still visible. The biggest structure you can see in here looks like some kind of, like, temple or library or some kind of big, like, structure like that. Again, there's very little, like, obvious entrance to it or anything. Most everything is covered in sand, but it's at least, like, walls, you know? [00:43:33] Speaker B: Could I try making another perception check? Not on the village, but kind of the direction that we came from. Since it. It's night, I'm hoping that if there are any lights of other travelers, maybe people looking for a quill, like, just trying to see, like, is there anyone that seems to be making their way towards us or anything like that? [00:43:51] Speaker A: I like it. [00:43:53] Speaker B: Gosh, this exhaustion also. I'm rolling bad, too. [00:43:57] Speaker A: Okay. It's just. It's pretty dark outside. I think you're making this perception check, like, down in the valley, and you're like, that's not gonna work. And climb up and are like, now there's probably nothing. I don't see anything. [00:44:10] Speaker B: I think rather than going back up, she's like, well, there's nothing over here, so I want to climb up a baboon. [00:44:17] Speaker A: Yeah. So valid. [00:44:19] Speaker C: I would like to make one into this little half buried town, because if there is anybody around, they would probably also seek shelter here. So ten. [00:44:28] Speaker B: Wow. [00:44:29] Speaker A: No, you don't see any signs of life. Nothing's moving except for, like, old, torn curtains and things that are waving with the wind and some sand that's moving around because of the wind. But you don't see any signs of life. The only thing that kind of catches your eye is that it looks like there was one house in which somebody shoved the door open, and there's, like, marking from the sand there. Does that make sense? [00:45:01] Speaker C: Yeah, like, push the sand out of the way of the door. [00:45:03] Speaker A: Push the sand out of the way. [00:45:05] Speaker C: Got it. [00:45:05] Speaker A: With the door. That seems like it was probably at least a couple weeks ago. It's, like, not as crisp as it would be if you did it right now or like yesterday or something. There's just kind of sand blown over it, but you can tell that it was there at some point. Like somebody probably came and stayed in the house down here. But I. That's really the only thing that stands out. [00:45:31] Speaker C: Myla, can I borrow your otter to come check the nearby at least to where we're gonna set up homes with me? [00:45:40] Speaker D: Do you want. Okay, yes, you can borrow the otter. But let me ask this. Do you want something that can go after a single target or would you prefer something that could do a more area, a point of damage or something that could help protect. [00:45:54] Speaker C: Actually, aria would be pretty good. [00:45:57] Speaker D: Of course. So she sort of reaches to. So the otter, little almost little Bakugan ball looking thing is the middle one. And she takes out the first one and she sort of throws it up into the air. And while it's in the air, little siphons and bands of blue and purple magic flicker out and it turns into a small. It can't fly. Technically. It has a walking speed of. So, like, I'll just say it hovers a little bit. A small sized phoenix pops out and it just sort of floats. And she says, so if you get into any trouble, just point this where you want it to. Well, it does. It can catch things on fire. She says with a smile. [00:46:45] Speaker C: Great. I'll take it temporarily. And it just goes. And, like, wherever we're setting up camp, like, does a big circle and checks all the shelters that are not completely buried for signs of life. [00:47:01] Speaker A: Yeah, there doesn't seem to be anybody there. No one is taking up any space. All clear. [00:47:09] Speaker B: I would like. Well, it is checking out these other buildings to use my gust of wind spell to, like, sand blast one of the buildings so it's not full of sand anymore. So we can actually. I mean, it's still like a broken down building and whatever, but that way it's a little more sheltered. [00:47:27] Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah. You can clear some sand off of the floor, mostly of one of these houses. Totally. No problem. [00:47:35] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:47:36] Speaker D: When it eventually gets back with my Phoenix, I'll say, do you guys want to see the last one? [00:47:40] Speaker B: Sure. [00:47:41] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:47:43] Speaker D: And so the Phoenix turns back to a little ball and she takes the third one off her belt and she just sort of sets it on the ground and out pops a little badger that seems to have a whirring mechanism over where it's kind of like, over its left shoulder and chest. Kind of is that sort of, like, pulses a little bit with shielding magic and everyone gains temporary hit points while they're near it just for fun. We all get nine temporary hit points. Wow. Which is like a mid roll. She's like, see, so I kind of have like three little guys now instead of like one big guy. [00:48:27] Speaker A: Yeah, so that way, if I smash one of them with an engine, she still has two left. [00:48:37] Speaker C: Multiple smaller instances of trauma versus one big one. [00:48:42] Speaker A: Yeah, it's better for your heart. All right, so you guys make camp for the night in these. These old rundown buildings. One of the houses is like just big enough to fit everybody. Especially with Ari and Nadia as well. Everyone's a little bit tetrised in. There are bed rolls, tetros. [00:49:05] Speaker F: Haha. [00:49:06] Speaker B: Episode name right there. [00:49:08] Speaker A: Auden, can you do one more roll? Use my big sharp dice roll for desert. [00:49:15] Speaker B: Okay, that's a 19 plus things. [00:49:19] Speaker A: Rad. [00:49:19] Speaker B: 23. No. [00:49:21] Speaker A: In the morning, you will be all good. [00:49:23] Speaker B: 27. [00:49:25] Speaker A: Nice. [00:49:25] Speaker B: Yay. [00:49:26] Speaker A: All right, so you guys take your long rest here. The next morning, what's the plan? [00:49:34] Speaker B: I think upon waking up, Auden's gonna peek outside and see if there's anyone else around. She's looking for footprints, primarily. [00:49:43] Speaker A: Sure. [00:49:44] Speaker B: I think that's only an eleven. [00:49:47] Speaker A: You see some footprints at first and you're like, oh, my God. And then realize that those were all of your companions from last night. And you're trying to count all of them and they all seem to line up so no one extra. [00:49:58] Speaker B: Nadia, I don't know if this person's able to find us. [00:50:02] Speaker A: No, they can find us. [00:50:04] Speaker B: Okay. [00:50:04] Speaker A: Honestly, if you don't want to wander, this is a good place. Is any not wander. [00:50:08] Speaker B: She'll kind of sit down and start, like, prepping some, like, rations for breakfast. It's probably not as elegant as something that Melwyn could make, but she's just like, need some grub. [00:50:25] Speaker C: Especially with how indeterminately long we might be out here. We might be kind of rationing some food. [00:50:32] Speaker A: Yeah, fair enough. [00:50:34] Speaker D: I want to go look around at some of the buildings. So anybody want to come with me? [00:50:37] Speaker C: I would like to try to help. [00:50:42] Speaker B: Okay. [00:50:42] Speaker C: Also prevent. [00:50:44] Speaker D: Okay. Id and Auden Slayde. [00:50:49] Speaker B: Grace. I saw you raise your hand. [00:50:51] Speaker F: It's okay. [00:50:51] Speaker E: I'll stay with the others. [00:50:52] Speaker B: And Mellon does not trip it. [00:50:55] Speaker E: It's okay. [00:50:55] Speaker D: Oh, my gosh. We can leave Ari with Nadia and they can, like, get to know each other. [00:50:59] Speaker E: I feel like that's a terrible idea. [00:51:01] Speaker A: So you can leave yarn with them. [00:51:06] Speaker E: Worse idea, we just leave all of the NPC's behind, including a thief. I will remind you. [00:51:15] Speaker B: Totally. [00:51:16] Speaker E: I can stay. [00:51:17] Speaker F: It's okay. [00:51:18] Speaker B: I don't want to leave this child unsupervised. [00:51:22] Speaker A: Melody, I will definitely get Nadia and Ari. [00:51:25] Speaker E: I don't know. She is functionally twelve. [00:51:26] Speaker A: She's fine. [00:51:31] Speaker E: Nah, go. It's okay. No one got magic. [00:51:36] Speaker A: All right, so who's going? Mila? Auden. [00:51:38] Speaker E: Van Gogh. [00:51:39] Speaker C: Done. No, I'm not going anymore. I'm not leaving a child and a leaf baby and two people I think are weak. [00:51:46] Speaker D: I. [00:51:47] Speaker A: And two horses. [00:51:50] Speaker B: At least. [00:51:51] Speaker A: Maybe not aisle. [00:51:52] Speaker B: Just drop another engine. Two people who are weak walk into a bar. [00:51:58] Speaker A: And all. Like, it's technically a child. She's, like, 14 or 15, so, like. [00:52:05] Speaker E: Technically the same age. [00:52:07] Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah. All right, so Myla and Auden want to go adventure. Totally. So do you want to make. [00:52:18] Speaker E: Sorry, couldn't resist. [00:52:20] Speaker D: Oh, my gosh. [00:52:22] Speaker B: I mean, we were all roommates last night. [00:52:25] Speaker E: Ooh, there are children. [00:52:28] Speaker B: No, that's what that's like. Auden's confusion is like, she doesn't get it. She's like, yeah, we're all roommates stuff. [00:52:34] Speaker D: Yeah, we're all roommates. [00:52:37] Speaker A: All right, what's the goal here? What's your. [00:52:40] Speaker D: I don't know. I'm just nosy. [00:52:41] Speaker A: What do you want? [00:52:41] Speaker D: I just want to see what's around. I want to look for anything. [00:52:46] Speaker C: Temple library thing. Oh, yeah, the biggest building. [00:52:51] Speaker D: Yeah. Yeah. [00:52:53] Speaker E: I want to look for some kind of book archive. [00:52:59] Speaker D: Books and just trinkets. [00:53:01] Speaker A: Are you heading straight there or, like, moseying your way and to make. [00:53:05] Speaker D: I want to get there eventually. [00:53:09] Speaker B: Whatever Auden wants to do, and she'll just follow. [00:53:12] Speaker A: Is that what Mila's gonna say is, I'll let. I'll follow Auden? She basically sounds like her. [00:53:20] Speaker C: Notoriously. [00:53:21] Speaker D: I'm not the only. It's okay. It's okay to meta game if it means your friends are having fun. And I believe that is a d and d truth. Put me on that freaking platform. I will metagame a little bit if it means my friends can have fun. [00:53:39] Speaker B: So am I leading the way, then? [00:53:43] Speaker D: I don't know. What do you want to do? [00:53:45] Speaker B: I think Arun would be curious about the big building. So we'll go and check out the big building. I think she's looking for, like, I think, like, the way that the buildings were kind of described, they kind of sound similar to, like, how I imagine Aden's home in SEO is kind of organized with lots of smaller homes that kind of in a central community area kind of thing. So I think that she's looking for. I don't want to say archaeologist moment. But are there any traces of people that were here? Did they leave any pottery shards? Whatever. She's just looking for anything that's not Sandhya as walking over there. [00:54:29] Speaker A: Yeah, I sound like a broken record, but make a perception check, then that one's, uh. [00:54:36] Speaker D: Can I assist? [00:54:37] Speaker A: Sure. I don't care. You guys do however you want. [00:54:42] Speaker B: That's a 15. [00:54:44] Speaker D: Wahoo. [00:54:45] Speaker A: Um, the houses on, like, the eastern side of the village are a little less covered in sand. The dune that you came from was from the west, so it makes sense that those are the more covered houses just in the way that physics works. You can kind of, like, see in the further ones that there might be more stuff left over that isn't completely buried. But even in the ones on your way to this, like, bigger, half covered slash, three quarters covered building, that, like, there are. Is evidence of people living here for sure. It seems to be, like, a couple hundred years old. Like, people haven't lived here for 200 years. A lot of the stuff is, like, pretty ancient technology, and there's nothing fancy about the way that they were living or anything. Mostly just left over is, like, pictures of what? Like, there's no water left, but pitchers that were probably for water or just liquids of some kind, like, a lot of cooling stuff, like curtains and things for the daytime. You can even, like, sort of see that there were probably foot trails in between these different buildings, but they're, like, kind of hard to see at this point. Why did you say that? [00:56:10] Speaker C: Because whenever anybody gets an alchemy jug, they always make mayonnaise with it. [00:56:14] Speaker D: Mayonnaise? [00:56:17] Speaker A: If they're not alchemy jugs, they're just pigs. I know. [00:56:19] Speaker C: I heard jug of liquid. [00:56:22] Speaker B: I wouldn't consider mayonnaise a liquid personally. [00:56:26] Speaker D: You're right. [00:56:27] Speaker C: Jeremy Crawford. [00:56:29] Speaker E: Yeah, I was gonna say take it up with the creators of team D. [00:56:31] Speaker B: Five E. I will. [00:56:35] Speaker C: I support you. [00:56:36] Speaker B: Hey. Oh, Jeremy. [00:56:40] Speaker A: You better watch out. We're gonna tweet at you. We're gonna get our millions of listeners to tweet at you. Jeremy Crawford. [00:56:47] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:56:48] Speaker A: This is a call to action. [00:56:51] Speaker C: Even you. [00:56:52] Speaker A: This is how we get people to listen. [00:56:55] Speaker D: You Disney. Great callback. Great callback. Inflexible Disney employee listening. [00:57:02] Speaker C: The enemy of my enemy is my friend. [00:57:08] Speaker A: So for the most part, you can see that it was probably just. It wasn't abandoned. People, like, had time to pack up and leave. So a lot of stuff isn't left over. It's not like there was some natural disaster or anything like that. I think else you want to know. [00:57:24] Speaker B: Fine. Like, a little. A little jar or something. And she'll hold it up, and she's like, I could probably put some salt in there, and she'll find another one. [00:57:36] Speaker A: Yeah, it could hold so much salt. [00:57:37] Speaker B: So much. So much salt. And she'll pass one over to Myla. I don't know if you need any, like, tubes or jars or anything for your inventing, but, you know, your trinkets. [00:57:49] Speaker A: I'm sure, like, flip it upside down and a little. A little, like, bug falls out of it. [00:57:55] Speaker D: Milo, like, kind of lets go, but then, like. [00:58:00] Speaker A: It lands on some sand. It's okay. [00:58:02] Speaker D: Oh, okay. Sorry. Ugh. Thanks. And I'll put it in the bag of holding, and I'll save it for. [00:58:11] Speaker A: Does Mila have the quill, or did she give it back to Melwyn? [00:58:14] Speaker B: I think Melwyn's cool, isn't it? [00:58:15] Speaker A: Right? [00:58:16] Speaker D: I think she would have given it back to Melwyn just because that's what we've been doing. [00:58:24] Speaker E: But she's very sound like Milo would want to. [00:58:27] Speaker D: She doesn't really want to, that's why. But she does. She does. [00:58:32] Speaker A: Okay. [00:58:33] Speaker D: She's like, it's better that they have it while they're at camp, then while we're walking around. [00:58:37] Speaker A: Alrighty. You guys head up to this bigger building, and you can see that there's, like, this very long set of steps. Kind of like a cartoonish, like, aztec temple, you know, like El Dorado or whatever. Where the steps are. Are large. There's a lot of them, but they seem to go up to this, like, big door that is closed. This, like, rotating stone door that has one sort of center point, and it rotates on that center point, you know, so you can press on either side, and it would rotate. Yeah. There's a whole lot of, like, imagery on this stone carved as well. Seems to be, like, basically hills, like sand dunes, probably, and depictions of the sun for the most part. And then after that is just kind of decorative filler stuff that also has sort of sun iconography, that kind of stuff. [00:59:51] Speaker B: Sun magic. Yellow magic is, like, the thing, right? Like, that's the thing. [01:00:03] Speaker D: Yeah. We haven't had a lot of great run ins with yellow magic so far, so I'm a little bit hesitant because the evil puppet used. Oh, yellow magic. Yeah. [01:00:17] Speaker B: I haven't seen any puppets so far, but if you'd like me check it out first, I can. [01:00:24] Speaker D: Yeah. Why don't you start looking? Just don't touch anything. And I'm gonna look through my books. And because we don't want. You know, sometimes doors can be bad as you've gone over. So. So let me. And Milo's gonna sit down. She's gonna start ritually casting detect magic while Melwyn does an initial scope. Melwin, not Melvin. Sorry, Auden. We're all. We're all. [01:00:49] Speaker B: Oh, boy. [01:00:50] Speaker D: I can't. [01:00:51] Speaker A: Sorry. [01:00:51] Speaker D: So Milo's gonna sit down and start ritually casting detect magic while Auden does a initial review of the door in that area. [01:00:59] Speaker A: What kind of check you want to do, Meg? [01:01:02] Speaker B: Well, I mean, perception makes a lot of sense. I have super good sleight of hand, but that will never come up, I fear. Could I make. Can I make a nature check to see if I can figure out more information about that bug? [01:01:24] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:01:26] Speaker B: That'S a 16 for bug man. [01:01:29] Speaker A: You've heard of some cockroaches? You've seen a cockroach? This thing is, like, beefy. This is like a beefy cockroach because it has to survive desert conditions. But it's just. It's a cockroach, but it's, like, sandy colored and also massive. [01:01:45] Speaker B: They may have more bugs inside. Just a warning. [01:01:51] Speaker D: Oh, okay. Let's keep. I'll keep. Cats. [01:01:58] Speaker B: What are Melan and Ed and NPC squad up to at camp? [01:02:03] Speaker E: I don't fucking know. [01:02:04] Speaker B: I want to know so badly. What? Nick, hidden Mellon conversations always just delight me. [01:02:10] Speaker A: So are you teaching yarn how to play card games? Oh, God, no. [01:02:16] Speaker E: Don't turn him into a card shark. That's the last thing we need. [01:02:21] Speaker A: He's gonna be like, no, no. And then he flipped three over at a time. Not just one. I mean, you can do just one, but three is better. It's harder, but it's, you know, more rewarding. He's like. He's, like, flipping one card over at a time because it's all that he can actually, like, do on his own. [01:02:42] Speaker E: The fucking teaching of a solitaire. So he shuts up. [01:02:48] Speaker A: And teaching him how to count because he's not great at it. [01:02:52] Speaker E: He delivered the message from the goddess really well, though. [01:02:56] Speaker A: Yeah, he didn't need to count. She didn't make him. He doesn't need to count. [01:03:04] Speaker E: Oh, I guess she did just give him descriptions and not like, the number of us in the party. Yeah, that's good. Ah, this little idiot. [01:03:15] Speaker A: I love him. [01:03:17] Speaker E: No one never knows how to start conversations with id. That's the problem. [01:03:22] Speaker C: It's loving watching yarn goof around. [01:03:26] Speaker A: Ari gets to a point where it's like, I'll just. No, it's fine. I'll just move the whole stack for you. Nadia is found a stick and is whittling a stick out of boredom. And it's just a. It's a point. But the stick keeps getting shorter because. [01:03:45] Speaker E: You were saying she was whittle like a stick out of a. And I was like, what do you mean? [01:03:50] Speaker A: Yeah, obviously. [01:03:52] Speaker C: Clearly, it will take the horses for a walk because it would suck for them to be inside a building. Yeah. [01:04:03] Speaker E: So much for not leaving them alone. [01:04:06] Speaker C: He's gonna, like, walk laps. Yeah, he's not gonna get without outside of earshot. [01:04:11] Speaker A: Yeah, it'd be really funny. [01:04:13] Speaker E: He walks outside, they get ambushed immediately. [01:04:19] Speaker A: Your two horses get sniped. No, I'm kidding. [01:04:24] Speaker E: This won't be the first game that I've never been able to keep a horse alive. [01:04:28] Speaker A: So you cast detect magic, Myla, and you are getting just so. The stairs and everything leading up to the door are regular, mundane. No magic on them. The door is yellow, but it starts, like, getting white involved as well. And then everything behind the door is white. [01:04:54] Speaker D: Oh, interesting. I'm getting very, like, bright and peace and structure and, like, universe and, like, vibey vibes, you know, pisces. Pisces with a capricorn. [01:05:15] Speaker A: Auden, you're watching. You're, like, looking at the door as Milo's looking at the door. You turn to look at the door, and there's a little. A little spot in the center of the door, like, reshapes itself to very much match the shape of a quill. Like, as an indent. [01:05:31] Speaker B: Uh, Mylae. It. [01:05:34] Speaker D: What? [01:05:34] Speaker B: She's gonna point at the door and she's gonna say, I'm gonna go get Melwin. And she's gonna. Yes. [01:05:39] Speaker D: And id get. Maybe get everyone sure. [01:05:44] Speaker B: Of her flip flops as she. [01:05:46] Speaker D: Please don't fall. Please be safe. [01:05:47] Speaker B: Run down the stairs. [01:05:49] Speaker A: Running in sand, in flip flops, is the worst. [01:05:53] Speaker B: They're not flip flops. They hook around the heel. They hook around the heel. [01:05:56] Speaker A: I understand. But either way, there comes enough to make a sound. [01:06:02] Speaker E: There comes a point where you say, fuck it. You take off those shoes and deal with the blisters. [01:06:08] Speaker A: All right. On. You run back. No, it's like rounding the corner from a walk with the horses. [01:06:15] Speaker B: Everything is fine. I'm not running because there's an emergency. But there was up on the. At the top of the thing, there's, like, a door, and. And Milo was, like, doing her, like, synths magic thing, and the door changed. It got a shape on it that looked like the quill, and she said it was very, like, peaceful on the inside. So I think we should probably all head on up because that might be where we need to put the quill or where the quill person is or something like that. That is relevant. [01:06:40] Speaker C: Sure. It's better than this. All right. They think they found something over at this temple thing. Let's go. Pack it up. Let's go. [01:06:54] Speaker A: Yarn. Almost one, though. Wait, hold, wait. [01:06:57] Speaker C: Put it on a little blanket and put it in the cart. [01:07:02] Speaker A: We'll just do it later. It's fine. Are you packing up with a card? [01:07:06] Speaker B: Return to the temple. [01:07:09] Speaker A: Yeah. Everyone heads out. Pack up all your stuff. You put the horses with the cart. I don't know. They're gonna magically be here whenever you get back. Because video games work that way. So that's how D and D will work. [01:07:24] Speaker B: The rules of the universe. Horses stay put into the universe. [01:07:28] Speaker A: Horses don't notoriously run off. They are very strong and not scared of anything. [01:07:35] Speaker E: Horse facts with Anastasia. [01:07:39] Speaker A: So you guys head to this temple. Yeah. What do you want to do? [01:07:44] Speaker D: Melon. Melon. Melon. Can I please see the quill? Can I please see the quill? [01:07:47] Speaker B: Can I please see the quillenne? [01:07:50] Speaker A: It's like a good output. [01:07:51] Speaker B: Bagging. [01:07:52] Speaker A: Yeah, that looks right. [01:07:53] Speaker E: I put an ice cube in my mouth just as you said. Melvin. [01:07:59] Speaker B: Gurgle. [01:07:59] Speaker E: She'll handle it. [01:08:00] Speaker A: Not as, like. Yeah, I mean, I think they found us. [01:08:05] Speaker D: So this is whatever they're building. Mila will take the quillenne. Sort of laugh at that. And she'll go up to the door and I don't know, like, hold it up to where the quill goes. That's how this works, right? Yeah. [01:08:25] Speaker A: Just put it in there. [01:08:27] Speaker D: Sure. [01:08:28] Speaker A: Great. It, like, sends, like, a rainbow ripple through the door. And then the door, like, slowly turns as it's opening. [01:08:38] Speaker D: Oh, my gosh. [01:08:41] Speaker E: It's a magic door. It's a magic door. [01:08:43] Speaker A: No, duh. Nadia starts walking in. [01:08:45] Speaker D: Let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go. Milo looks like a kid in a candy store. She is so excited. [01:08:52] Speaker A: Everyone goes, probably books. [01:08:54] Speaker E: There's probably books and scrolls. [01:08:56] Speaker D: Oh, man. Oh, my gods. And she, as everyone walks in. Can I take the quill with me? Or is it stuck in the door? [01:09:08] Speaker A: You can one. But you think that you'd have to take it out once everyone else gets in. [01:09:12] Speaker D: Yeah, I'll let everyone in. Clothes take the quill and then put the quill in the bag of holding. [01:09:18] Speaker A: Yeah, the door does, like, rotate back to close behind you. Ari goes, man, I really hope there are no spiders in here. I really hate spiders. [01:09:26] Speaker D: There's probably only cockroaches. That's what we found so far. [01:09:28] Speaker A: Okay, and then next time, we'll do a dungeon crawl, because we've not done one of those yet, and I'm very excited. Excited. So come back to the dungeon crawl. [01:09:40] Speaker B: It's gonna be really good. [01:09:43] Speaker A: All right, we'll see you next time, gamers. [01:09:48] Speaker D: It's good bye.
