[00:00:02] Speaker A: Can you play it again? Squeak it again. [00:00:04] Speaker B: Yeah, squeak. [00:00:05] Speaker C: Dragon. [00:00:05] Speaker B: One more time. [00:00:06] Speaker C: Ready? So stupid. These are like Minecraft villages. [00:00:41] Speaker B: Tree sweet oil. Say. [00:00:46] Speaker C: Is that our intro? [00:00:48] Speaker A: Who spells a whisper? Apparently a d and D five e podcast. [00:00:56] Speaker D: We're normal. [00:00:57] Speaker C: Attention to Dragons True fifth edition podcast. [00:01:00] Speaker B: Can we do a special intro where. [00:01:01] Speaker C: It'S the do do do do do. [00:01:03] Speaker B: But it's the squeaker instead? [00:01:11] Speaker A: Yeah. This is what I spent four years of collagen for. [00:01:15] Speaker B: Let's get serious, people. Let's get down to business. [00:01:21] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. It's a bomb. [00:01:23] Speaker D: Oh, my God. [00:01:24] Speaker C: Yeah. So the crew heads into their abandoned shop home base in Gosneshe and finds a small elven child who is squatting in the same building. They give him a corner to sleep in, making, like, a les mis barricade, and everyone goes to bed. Mila's shift goes well, but Auden's shift id wakes up to a dying heart. After Melvin fixes it, it gets a telepathic message from Ari asking if he's having the same issues. Somehow, she ends up in their shop, confused and exhausted. Milo spends some time connecting the dots and realizes that ID and Ari have countdown timers counting down to who knows what. So it is still the middle of the night, we still have yet to long rest, and you guys are awake. Someone has probably created some kind of light source. Jack is, like, peeking over the table and is, like, freaked out by this whole thing. [00:02:23] Speaker A: With this countdown, do we know how much time is on the countdown, or is it just like, a general. There is time running out. Like, it's the difference between your microwave going and, like, an hourglass. [00:02:35] Speaker C: It is more like an hourglass where Myla can tell that it's a little bit over halfway gone, but she doesn't really know what the end timer is. Like, the end. [00:02:45] Speaker A: Got it. I just wanted to make sure that I had a good finger on it. Cool. [00:02:52] Speaker C: Yeah. Hourglass is a good comparison. [00:02:55] Speaker A: So it doesn't really sound like there's a whole lot that we can do about it tonight. [00:03:04] Speaker B: I mean, I can try and slow it down. [00:03:07] Speaker A: Oh, yes. [00:03:09] Speaker B: Would that be helpful? I mean, if we don't really know what it's leading up to, I don't really want to find out right now. So. [00:03:17] Speaker E: Yeah, just to be safe, let's, um. Let's slow it down. [00:03:21] Speaker B: Okay. Um. Okay. Yes, I can. I can do. Try to do that. I can try to do that. Yes. [00:03:36] Speaker E: Take your time. [00:03:37] Speaker C: Yeah, it's not running out or anything. I'm just kidding. Sorry, sorry. [00:03:45] Speaker B: No, no, no. It was funny. It was funny. As she sort of. It takes her a second to react in real time. She's like, no, it was funny. Haha. Really funny. So fun. Okay. Um. Okay, she's going to set up everything. Put out a light. Mellon, you're on standby in case we need a jump start. Right. [00:04:16] Speaker F: Right. [00:04:17] Speaker B: And auden, I need you with me so you can help me. Right? [00:04:21] Speaker A: Yes. Okay. [00:04:26] Speaker B: Okay. This is my first rodeo. Right? And she'll grab her and tools. This could be not your problem. But, like, what does the. What does the actual timer device look like? What is the physical? Like, how does it work? [00:04:47] Speaker C: It's not really there, which is difficult to, like, comprehend in our regular mortal brains. I guess it's more of like. Like, you feel that there is, like, a timer situation going because the instances of this are getting closer together. So it's very possible that, like, literally slowing down the gears would make it work, would slow it down. Like, you could literally slow down the gears that might have side effects to the person with the gears, but that is an option. You could try to magically, like, slow it down. There's not, like, some little gps tag in it that's connecting back to something, but it's not like individual timers that were synced up and started at the same time. It's more like some kind of centralized location that is or was existing. And so that would be your best bet. But you don't know where that is. [00:05:45] Speaker B: Okay. My last thought is that if this is something that cannot physically be seen, it does nothing have a physical way of stopping it. And I think Milo thinks back to this sort of idea of creation in a way, right? How, like, this quill creates things, and it has this iridescent magic, and it gets her thinking about how, in general, while light can be seen and colors can be seen, the reason it can be seen and differentiated is because light waves move at different rates. So I think her thought is, if I can get ID's magical light waves to move at that same faster rate, maybe ID's processing and, like, himself will help. That'll help bottleneck the actual, like, unfeasible timer, and he'll be able to, like, process that stuff instead of. It's just sort of building up, right. So I think her thought is that since the contraption and ID and Arya are made mostly of red and blue magics, her thought is if she can find a way to bridge those two and strengthen them and almost weave them together in a way that. That, like, intangible magic or power source or whatever that is, can strengthen and give the physical body itself what it needs to fight back against the timer. [00:07:17] Speaker C: Cool. [00:07:18] Speaker B: And she thinks that how color theory. Blue and red make purple. So maybe what she needs is to literally take that sewing of the purple magic of redirection, of amplification that she has studied for so long and made her entire sense of being and just, like, sort of interweave that in a way and find a way to pinpoint it into, like, a white magic of, like, structure. [00:07:49] Speaker C: Damn. I think you gave inspiration for that. That was. [00:07:52] Speaker B: That's clutch. Your brain is healed. [00:07:56] Speaker C: That was cool. And within the lore and, like, so smart. [00:08:00] Speaker B: She is going to take a deep breath. It's gonna take out her little cogs and gears, ones that are made of, like, certain metals, maybe, like, she found, like, one that has, like, a little bit of, like, boskite infused and stuff that holds magical, like, enchanting a little easier. And she's gonna try and make a small device to help funnel and process these magics in the contraption that is already implemented in its system. [00:08:33] Speaker C: All right, I think this is gonna be a two part situation. One role is to make the thing, and the other role is to, like, add the thing to the existing mechanism. [00:08:45] Speaker B: Yes. Makes sense. [00:08:47] Speaker C: So whatever your, like, alchemist roles are, we're going with that. [00:08:54] Speaker B: My tools roles. Yay. [00:08:59] Speaker C: Okay. [00:08:59] Speaker A: Is there one of these that I can assist with? Probably closer to the second one, I would say. [00:09:06] Speaker C: The second one. Yeah. [00:09:07] Speaker B: Okay. Making the device. Okay. I rolled a 24 on that one. [00:09:14] Speaker E: Nice. [00:09:15] Speaker A: Okay, that's decent. [00:09:18] Speaker C: So your best guess is that this thing works the way that you want it to. Like, you did, like, a little test to see what would happen. It seems to be working fine. The downside of this thing that you've made is that it's only going to probably affect id, so it's not going to be a universal affects everyone thing. [00:09:39] Speaker B: Gotcha. Myla will do that. I think she keeps that part to herself for now. [00:09:45] Speaker C: Alrighty. The second part of this is inserting it into id's chest cavity, I guess. [00:09:54] Speaker B: Okay. [00:09:55] Speaker C: Which is the worst sentence I've said on this podcast. I think it's pretty bad. [00:10:02] Speaker B: 28. [00:10:03] Speaker C: Id. I need a constitution saved from you. [00:10:07] Speaker E: Should I apply aura to this? [00:10:10] Speaker C: If it's up? [00:10:11] Speaker D: I mean, you're conscious and in your aura. [00:10:13] Speaker E: That's true. 18. [00:10:18] Speaker B: Clash of genius. Last one. [00:10:19] Speaker C: Okay. [00:10:22] Speaker D: Burning through them. [00:10:23] Speaker E: So with flash of genius. [00:10:24] Speaker C: So 23 would be 23. It's plus five. Yeah. [00:10:27] Speaker D: Nice. [00:10:28] Speaker C: It feels bad. This is not good. It is very jarring. Things are working differently. Everything, like, stops for a second and you basically flatline for a moment and then, like, kicks back up again. It seems like. It kind of feels like there's been a bunch of, like, oil, you know? Like, things are running smoother. It is super weird because you've just lived with, like, red and blue forever, and now all of a sudden, like, your brain is, like, zinging around, like, you have every thought you've ever had, like, a second time. Yeah, it feels like that. Like, you feel, like, caffeinated to an insane degree. Like you're on drugs. [00:11:20] Speaker E: Yeah. All right. It feels kind of locked in. Good job. [00:11:26] Speaker B: Sorry. It's strange, I know that new magics can be weird, but it's a start until we figure out what this is culminating to and can end that, I guess. [00:11:42] Speaker E: Yeah. Could you close me up, please? [00:11:45] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, yeah. For sure. Yes. Sorry. [00:11:50] Speaker C: Ari's looking incredibly concerned. This whole thing. [00:11:54] Speaker E: Super worried Ari. First of all, she did a great job. It does feel kind of weird. I don't know if they ever did any steroids y tests on you, but it kind of feels like that high energy kind of thing. [00:12:16] Speaker C: Yeah, it's like getting to this point where it feels like energy is gonna explode out of your body. Everything is tingling and. Yeah, it's just trapped. [00:12:30] Speaker E: Uh. Shit. Uh, id tries to, like, stand up. [00:12:37] Speaker C: Okay, you stand up. [00:12:39] Speaker E: I'm gonna, um. I think, uh, he just starts, like, pacing around the room doing weird laps. [00:12:48] Speaker A: Do you want to do some? [00:12:48] Speaker C: Like, it's, like, slightly better, but not great. [00:12:51] Speaker E: Like, uh, it casts haste on himself, and then does really fast lapse. [00:12:59] Speaker C: It's better. [00:13:01] Speaker E: Yeah, yeah. And then he starts doing. I don't know if this is the actual name. One of my friends told me in water polo he had to do these things called Superman's where he would do a lap across the pool, climb out of the pool, do some push ups, and then go back across the pool, climb out of pool, do some push ups. So he's, like, running to the end of the room and, like, doing push ups and then running the other end of the room and, like, doing push ups. Just, like, trying to get all this energy out. [00:13:28] Speaker C: You know that. I don't know why this popped in my head, but, you know the, like, dragon dance and Avatar? Yeah, I'm picturing that. But, like, if you put Netflix on, like, five times speed and they're just, like, doing the poses, like, really fast. [00:13:41] Speaker E: That's really funny. [00:13:43] Speaker C: He's, like, trying to do tai chi and all of a sudden just has to do it, like, really fast. No, I know that's not what's happening, but what was in my head. I dig it. Great. So it is bouncing off the walls. [00:14:00] Speaker B: Do I get the impression that I would have to replicate this on Ari for it to. Or at least try to or. No? [00:14:08] Speaker C: Yeah, for sure. [00:14:09] Speaker B: Okay. [00:14:11] Speaker C: Yeah. Unless you had access to this, like, central control. It's all individual from there. [00:14:18] Speaker B: Turn to Ari. [00:14:20] Speaker C: Hey. [00:14:21] Speaker B: So it's your turn. [00:14:25] Speaker F: Hey, girl. [00:14:26] Speaker D: Hey, best friend. [00:14:27] Speaker E: It's your turn for surgery. [00:14:29] Speaker B: Open heart surgery. [00:14:32] Speaker A: Classic sleepover. [00:14:33] Speaker C: Why is he. He's acting really weird. I don't. I don't know that I want to do it. [00:14:38] Speaker B: If you don't want to, I won't force you. That's your choice. But I will say that it's just a side effect, an influx of magic. In a way, I have to add magic to support your current sense of life in order for yourself to be able to. It's a whole thing. I just did this really good explanation of it in my head if you want to go back and listen to it, but. Sorry, that's so fun. But it's. You're just gonna have a lot of energy for a little bit, and then it'll just take some time to adjust. So if you don't want to do it, that's fine. But I do think it's a really good idea to do it. [00:15:35] Speaker C: Can we do it, like, tomorrow or something? [00:15:37] Speaker B: If you want to. Yeah, that's. Oh, that's okay. We'll just keep an eye on you tonight and make sure everything's okay. Um, yeah, right. [00:15:50] Speaker C: Okay. Yeah. Tomorrow then. [00:15:57] Speaker B: Okay, tomorrow. [00:16:01] Speaker C: Nadia draws everyone earplugs. [00:16:05] Speaker A: Can she draw? [00:16:06] Speaker C: Trek separated. [00:16:07] Speaker D: She dropped suffer. [00:16:09] Speaker C: Stationary hands out little, like. Like the ones that squish in your ear. And you can just, like, shove it in there. Yeah. For everyone and, like, hands them out. All right. Good night, guys. That was fun, but I'm tired. [00:16:24] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:16:24] Speaker E: It hits the 1 minute of haste, just, like, falls flat on his face. [00:16:33] Speaker D: It's amazing. [00:16:35] Speaker C: It's, you know, the energy's still there, but, like, for like, a few seconds, you're like, great. And then it, like, slowly comes back. You're like, shit, God damn it. [00:16:49] Speaker E: Okay. [00:16:52] Speaker C: You can go outside and hit some stuff or something. I don't know. [00:16:55] Speaker E: Yeah, he extremely quietly, just like, instead of going to sleep, he does, like, one handed planks on his sleeping roll for as long as he can and then swaps arms. [00:17:12] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:17:14] Speaker D: Caffeine turns id into a gym bro. Got it. [00:17:18] Speaker C: Yeah. Really? [00:17:19] Speaker A: This last watch id or are you with. [00:17:22] Speaker E: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm gonna be up. It's all good. [00:17:25] Speaker A: Okay. Let us know if you need anything. Good night. [00:17:32] Speaker B: Good night. [00:17:34] Speaker C: All right. Can you do a perception check at disadvantage? [00:17:37] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:17:37] Speaker B: Oh, gosh. [00:17:43] Speaker E: The lower of the two rolls is a natural. Three plus five is an eight. [00:17:47] Speaker B: No. [00:17:47] Speaker D: Jesus. [00:17:51] Speaker C: Great. You do notice that Jack eventually falls back asleep. Everyone seems to be asleep again. I think Nadia's a little, like, back and forth, but so is Ari. Ari really, like, has the hardest time falling back asleep. She basically doesn't. She sleeps for, like, an hour before she wakes up again. Everyone is long rested except for it, who is not. Sorry. [00:18:19] Speaker E: It's all good. [00:18:20] Speaker C: You did do this in the middle of the night. [00:18:22] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:18:24] Speaker C: You can count the previous as a short rest if you want. Like, hit points back. I'm good. But I figured. But yeah, no abilities or anything unless you get short rest stuff. [00:18:36] Speaker E: I do get my heart pumping ability back. Which makes sense. [00:18:41] Speaker C: That makes sense. [00:18:44] Speaker D: My one will take a. Will take time to make food for everyone because that's her kind of thing. [00:18:51] Speaker C: Cupcakes for breakfast. [00:18:52] Speaker B: Yummy. [00:18:54] Speaker C: Are you making food for Jack or. No? [00:18:57] Speaker D: That would be really bitchy. [00:18:59] Speaker C: No, you don't have to. I'm trying to figure out the story. This isn't a guilt trip. [00:19:04] Speaker D: No one would. No one's making food for everybody, but she's making her little chef snacks for. You know. I was gonna give one to Nadia, but fuck that. Oh, no, wait. I lied. No, I didn't. I'm thinking about this, right? I have four of these, so instead of giving one to Nadia, we're getting one to Ari. [00:19:27] Speaker B: Slam. [00:19:28] Speaker D: So everybody gets four temporary hp. If they eat it now, it lasts 8 hours. [00:19:33] Speaker B: I'm eating it. [00:19:34] Speaker A: I will. [00:19:35] Speaker C: Sure. [00:19:35] Speaker E: Oh, actually, I know mechanically this, I haven't had a long rest, so my first pumping ability hasn't gone away. [00:19:45] Speaker C: Oh, no. [00:19:45] Speaker E: I take a short rest. [00:19:46] Speaker C: It's okay. Okay. [00:19:50] Speaker E: Because that specific ability gives me temp hp until I short rest or long rest. [00:19:55] Speaker C: Yeah. Oh, gotcha. [00:19:57] Speaker E: So I short rest it and then we're good. [00:19:59] Speaker C: Yes. Yeah. [00:20:01] Speaker D: And we've established that Melan's a pretty early riser in the group, so she will awaken the other two, teenagers and Nadia, by putting plates of food down in front of them. Like, really awkwardly. [00:20:17] Speaker C: Yeah, for sure. They both seem very grateful for anything that is mildly warm. Because if I remember correctly, we're starting to get into, like, late fall, early winter times. So it's not warm here. Yeah, sorry, you said to Jack too, right? [00:20:42] Speaker B: Yep. [00:20:43] Speaker D: For everyone. [00:20:43] Speaker C: Yeah. Yeah, yeah. Okay. Yeah, he eats, like, so sloppily. Like, just eats it in, like, five minutes. And that was really good. Thank you. [00:20:56] Speaker F: Sure. [00:20:57] Speaker C: I don't have any money or anything. [00:20:59] Speaker F: That's all right. [00:21:01] Speaker D: I was about to say I don't either. And I remembered we have a lot of money, actually, so. Never mind. I keep forgetting we sold. Melan was so poor for so much of the game. [00:21:13] Speaker C: Yeah, really. [00:21:14] Speaker F: Um, I'm Melwin, by the way. No one said that last night. Um, Jack, are you actually 18? [00:21:25] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:21:26] Speaker D: Can I insight check him? [00:21:28] Speaker C: Yeah, don't worry. [00:21:30] Speaker D: Melbourne's got a minus one insight. She totally's got this. Oh, that's not bad, actually. Eleven. [00:21:37] Speaker C: Yeah, well, he rolled a three, so that's not gonna be an eleven, no matter what the modifiers are. Definitely not 18. [00:21:46] Speaker F: No, you're not. [00:21:49] Speaker C: Yeah, I am. [00:21:50] Speaker D: Mmm. [00:21:51] Speaker F: No, you're not. [00:21:54] Speaker C: Sh. [00:21:57] Speaker F: Is there something wrong with that? [00:22:00] Speaker C: If I tell people I'm 18, they get upset less because they think I'm an adult. [00:22:10] Speaker F: Well, you don't. You don't look like an adult. [00:22:15] Speaker C: Okay, well, your friend didn't say anything. [00:22:24] Speaker D: I don't respond to that. [00:22:30] Speaker C: You don't look like an adult either. [00:22:31] Speaker F: Yeah. Cause I'm not, but I'm not lying about it. [00:22:36] Speaker C: Okay, well, you have friends, so they can protect you about it. [00:22:47] Speaker D: Okay. Melan's an awkward teenager that is missing ten emotions still, so. [00:22:54] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:22:55] Speaker C: This is a good conversation between 214 year olds. Yep. This is how. Conversations with 14 year olds. Yeah. Well, your mom is cooler than my mom, so. [00:23:08] Speaker F: I don't have a mom. [00:23:13] Speaker C: I'm gonna go. [00:23:15] Speaker D: So fair. [00:23:16] Speaker C: Thank you. [00:23:16] Speaker B: Okay. Are you. [00:23:18] Speaker C: Says to, like, everyone. [00:23:19] Speaker B: Are you sure you don't want to, like, travel with people who are, like, keep you safe? [00:23:25] Speaker A: Yeah. If you ever need surgery, we've got you covered. [00:23:27] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:23:28] Speaker D: Oh, my God. [00:23:31] Speaker C: Uh, not right now. [00:23:34] Speaker A: Okay. [00:23:35] Speaker B: Where are you going? [00:23:36] Speaker A: Good luck. [00:23:37] Speaker C: Still doing push ups. I don't get it. [00:23:39] Speaker F: Uh, he's. It's weird. [00:23:42] Speaker C: Did you do push ups all night? [00:23:44] Speaker B: No. [00:23:45] Speaker E: I did squats for a little. [00:23:46] Speaker B: Did you? [00:23:46] Speaker E: I did wasts for a little bit. He points to a door jam where, like, his war pick is, like, shoved into one of a gap between two planks. I did pull ups on that for a little bit. I did burpees for a while. [00:24:03] Speaker A: Oh, I felt that one. [00:24:06] Speaker E: Oh, sorry. [00:24:08] Speaker A: That's okay. [00:24:09] Speaker C: Yeah. You guys are weird. I'm gonna go. [00:24:12] Speaker F: Okay. [00:24:13] Speaker C: Where are you going? [00:24:13] Speaker F: That's so fat. [00:24:15] Speaker D: I don't know, away from us. [00:24:18] Speaker C: Okay. Not sure yet. [00:24:21] Speaker B: Well, if you need anything far away from us, also, don't go to the mountains, okay? It's not safe there. [00:24:28] Speaker C: Okay, I wasn't planning, but when he just walks away. [00:24:35] Speaker F: Goodbye. [00:24:36] Speaker D: Leave. [00:24:39] Speaker C: God, you guys are the worst. [00:24:41] Speaker B: What? Uh, don't yuck people's yums. [00:24:46] Speaker F: Did we do something wrong? [00:24:49] Speaker C: No, I just. I do. Kid wants to be on his own. Just like let him be on his own. I was. I'm fine. [00:24:57] Speaker B: Sure. [00:24:59] Speaker D: Are you, though? [00:25:01] Speaker A: I'll squint. [00:25:04] Speaker C: No, you're squints back. [00:25:06] Speaker A: Not like at her, but just kind of like in thought. [00:25:10] Speaker C: Okay. [00:25:11] Speaker D: Makes it even funnier than Nadia Squint's back. [00:25:13] Speaker C: Actually, Nadia does still squint at on it. I don't know what you're thinking about. [00:25:20] Speaker A: Fair. So, um, what's kind of a first order of business here? Um, I know that this. [00:25:29] Speaker C: I still. Guys, I still don't know why I showed up here. [00:25:33] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:25:33] Speaker A: Can you, um, teleport? Do you know magic? I didn't know you knew magic. [00:25:37] Speaker C: No. [00:25:37] Speaker B: Well, what were you doing right before you teleported? [00:25:41] Speaker E: Talking to me? [00:25:41] Speaker C: I was talking to id. [00:25:42] Speaker B: Oh. What did you say? [00:25:43] Speaker F: Wait, if you don't know magic, how are you talking to id? [00:25:46] Speaker C: Oh, yeah, I have a friend who knows magic. [00:25:48] Speaker A: Did your friend teleport you? [00:25:50] Speaker C: Like a roommate? [00:25:50] Speaker B: A roommate? [00:25:51] Speaker E: Me too. [00:25:51] Speaker B: What kind of roommate? [00:25:52] Speaker D: Yeah, you have a roommate that knows magic. [00:25:58] Speaker C: And they were roommates? [00:26:00] Speaker B: Well, I mean, not to say that, like, all people who, like, are like, share spaces are like, into each other or anything like that, but like some. It's. [00:26:11] Speaker C: Why? What? Why did you say that? [00:26:14] Speaker B: It's just an important thing to clarify. What kind of roommate? [00:26:22] Speaker C: A friend who's also my roommate. [00:26:24] Speaker B: Okay, but like a friend or like a friend gay? [00:26:29] Speaker C: I don't know what that means. [00:26:31] Speaker E: I don't get it either. [00:26:32] Speaker B: Sometimes people say that they're friends, but they're actually. There's like. They're actually like, not really friends. They're like something more. Or there's like an unspoken. [00:26:41] Speaker C: Ed, can you stop doing pull ups? [00:26:43] Speaker F: Bubble. Um, idea. [00:26:46] Speaker C: Like 2 seconds. [00:26:47] Speaker E: Yes, 2 seconds. You got, um. [00:26:49] Speaker D: One, two. It goes back to it. [00:26:51] Speaker C: Uh. [00:26:54] Speaker F: Um, possible idea. Maybe it's a good idea to get out of ghaznash. [00:27:00] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. [00:27:00] Speaker F: Yes, maybe. [00:27:01] Speaker B: Probably. [00:27:02] Speaker E: Yeah, we are probably kind of flaunted a little. [00:27:05] Speaker F: We're a little. [00:27:06] Speaker B: We're kind of. [00:27:08] Speaker C: Oh, spongy. [00:27:09] Speaker F: And you kind of stand out. [00:27:11] Speaker D: And she like, is gesturing to Nadia. [00:27:16] Speaker C: I guess. Yeah. [00:27:19] Speaker F: Yeah. But the question becomes then where are we going? [00:27:24] Speaker C: Are you sure you guys, like, didn't bring me here? [00:27:27] Speaker B: I didn't bring you. I don't know that type of stuff yet. [00:27:30] Speaker C: You don't have, like, a thing that brought me here? [00:27:33] Speaker A: Um, Melo, you said that the residual magic that was on her was similar to the quill, but you had the quill. [00:27:41] Speaker F: I mean, you're not. You're not related to a God or something, are you? [00:27:44] Speaker C: Oh, no. Why? [00:27:49] Speaker F: No reason. [00:27:50] Speaker A: Um, just curious. [00:27:53] Speaker B: Who is windy? [00:27:55] Speaker C: That's not a no reason question. [00:27:58] Speaker F: It's complicated. Um, basically, we found. We found. Well, I. We didn't find this. Uh, Nadia found this. And Melbourne will pull out the quill. And it's a very powerful magical artifact that is connected to, potentially, the person that created the inked expanse. But, yeah, the magic that was surrounding us is all crazy and rainbowy. And the magic that was around you when you showed up here was also very similar to that, which is weird. [00:28:30] Speaker C: And you guys didn't. [00:28:31] Speaker F: I don't really have an explanation for that. [00:28:32] Speaker C: Do it. You guys didn't, like, use it or something? [00:28:35] Speaker F: None of us do strong enough to do something like that. [00:28:39] Speaker B: Well, we haven't tried. Yeah. [00:28:43] Speaker C: What. What does it do? I don't know what it does. [00:28:47] Speaker A: Should crank it out and see. [00:28:49] Speaker B: And try and see. [00:28:51] Speaker F: Well, I. So, I mean, I. You could try, but it's really made to be attuned by one person, also known as the God we were referencing. [00:29:07] Speaker B: So it's just nothing. [00:29:10] Speaker F: I mean, if any. If we're gonna try anything, maybe we wait to not be on the run. [00:29:16] Speaker B: We're always gonna be. [00:29:16] Speaker F: If that makes sense. Not that we can't take care of the guards, but we do have two more people than we did before. [00:29:21] Speaker B: Okay, so what's on our to do list? Get Ari back to her job, because that's important to Ari. [00:29:28] Speaker A: Probably missing your shift. [00:29:30] Speaker C: Well, I actually don't care about my job anymore after learning that I am at something. Countdown clock, so. [00:29:38] Speaker B: Oh, do you want to look at that now, or do you want to do that later today? [00:29:41] Speaker C: No, later. I'm just saying that the job is not really important. [00:29:45] Speaker B: Okay. So do you want to get back or not? I feel like we should just check it off the list, then. [00:29:51] Speaker C: I know. If we're gonna figure out what is happening, then no. [00:29:56] Speaker B: Okay, great. [00:29:58] Speaker A: One thing out of the way. [00:29:59] Speaker B: Perfect. [00:30:01] Speaker D: Off a very long list. [00:30:02] Speaker C: Nadia, like, sighs and says, I was gonna take that quill to some guy, so if you guys want to go to that guy. What guys do that? I don't actually know their name. They're a. Some kind of arcanous. Arcanist. [00:30:17] Speaker B: Arcanist. [00:30:19] Speaker C: Arcanist. [00:30:19] Speaker F: Got a description of anything? [00:30:23] Speaker C: They live. I know they live in tetros and that they will find you, so that's all I got, really. But we can try. [00:30:32] Speaker A: And they might be able to figure out how to let other people use it, or they may know who's it. Like, who it belongs to. Orlando. Like, what was the goal? [00:30:43] Speaker C: And they aren't the person that told me to go get it, but they are the person I was gonna sell it to. [00:30:51] Speaker B: Oh, got it. [00:30:53] Speaker F: Wait, who told you to go get it? [00:30:56] Speaker C: Some local mob boss. [00:30:58] Speaker D: Oh, normal, everyday sentences by normal, everyday people. Okay. [00:31:01] Speaker C: I love mob boss. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Really cool. Yeah, super cool. Super cool. And chill and nothing. Nothing to wear. Pop. Yeah, they're trying to gain. You know, it's. There's kind of a political war going on in Gaznash right now between the government and, I guess, the people, but, like, some of the people are mob bosses, so, you know, they're trying to gain power, and government is trying to keep power, and it's a mess. [00:31:32] Speaker A: Does sound messy. Well, I mean, it might be worth it just to go and talk to this guy you're going to sell it to. Maybe they have some information on it that that would be helpful. And if they're an arcanist, maybe they know something about, you know, I'm sure they know lots of other people high up in their fields, so maybe some people who are familiar with artificeri in, like, the bio. Bio. Biology. Body. Body kind of the biological sense. [00:32:02] Speaker C: That's the one, yeah. That's why I suggested it. So if you want to go, we can go. [00:32:08] Speaker A: Okay. [00:32:09] Speaker B: And to Tetris also. [00:32:10] Speaker C: No one is gonna look for us in Tetris. [00:32:12] Speaker B: So we go to Tetras, we meet up with this guy, and then we go kill your mom. [00:32:16] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:32:16] Speaker C: Cool. [00:32:17] Speaker E: Yeah, well, she's not really alive in the first place. [00:32:21] Speaker B: I think we rekill your mom. [00:32:24] Speaker C: There we go. [00:32:26] Speaker B: And get rid of the guy who's trying to make a cult. [00:32:32] Speaker A: That's just, like, three things on the list. Go to Tetros. [00:32:35] Speaker B: Yeah, something. [00:32:36] Speaker A: Talk to a guy, kill opal again. Kill that other guy. [00:32:42] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:32:44] Speaker F: What about helping re. [00:32:45] Speaker A: Help Ari? Yeah, also on the list. I'm moving that up a couple spots. [00:32:50] Speaker B: Yeah. Yeah, well, we're gonna. So I'm gonna take a look at re. Maybe tonight if Ari wants, and then we'll go talk to the guy in Tetris. Maybe the guy in Tetris know something about it or has, like, a reference or something like that. Although I don't know if we should be giving the quill to this guy, but we can talk about. We can cross that bridge when we get there if that's easier. [00:33:11] Speaker A: That sounds good to me. [00:33:13] Speaker D: Who the fuck is intetro wants to buy something like that? [00:33:17] Speaker A: Um, question for you, Nadia. This person, like, are you in need of money? Is that why you were gonna sell it? Are you doing okay? Could help you out. [00:33:27] Speaker C: No, I just figured they would actually know what to do with it, you know? [00:33:30] Speaker A: That's fair. Cool. [00:33:32] Speaker F: Tied to tuning to it with. [00:33:35] Speaker C: No, I took it and I ran, and then you guys kidnapped me. [00:33:39] Speaker F: Well, that's fair. [00:33:41] Speaker C: Okay, fine. Okay. Took me aside. I don't know. What do you want me to say? I feel like kidnap is correct. [00:33:49] Speaker B: I don't. But we can agree to disagree. [00:33:52] Speaker C: Cool. [00:33:53] Speaker A: Tetris is a really big place. Do you know, like, whereabouts in Tetris. [00:33:59] Speaker C: Or just kind of generally speaking, I guess. Honestly, it's, like, myths about the guy and the rock formations and stuff. So, like, over there. Well, but I couldn't tell you where or exactly which rock or name or anything. I have no idea. [00:34:22] Speaker A: I think as she's listening, Auden's kind of rolling up her bedroll and cramming it into her backpack and maybe couple of salt shakers that she had set up on a desk as light decor. She's sweeping into her bag and just getting ready to go as this conversation. [00:34:39] Speaker C: Is happening for sure. Okay, I guess we go. I mean, we can try to, like, steal on an airship or something, but with a lot of us, it's gonna be really hard. [00:34:53] Speaker B: Maybe you can buy us some horses. [00:34:55] Speaker C: Also, there are no airships that go. [00:34:57] Speaker A: To Tetris, so do have a lot of funds. If we did want to look into, like, horses, like Milo said, or, like, a little caravan or something, you could. [00:35:08] Speaker F: Probably get, like, a cart and a couple horses. [00:35:12] Speaker B: That'd be fun. [00:35:13] Speaker F: Less expensive than trying to get a whole series. [00:35:15] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:35:16] Speaker A: Mm hmm. [00:35:17] Speaker B: Let's do it. I like that idea. [00:35:19] Speaker C: Alrighty. Are you trying to find this in Ghaznash? [00:35:23] Speaker A: I think so. Stealthily. Not stealthily, but, like, avoiding anything. [00:35:29] Speaker D: You can stealth with a carriage. [00:35:30] Speaker A: Stealthily by a horse. [00:35:31] Speaker B: Hey, carriage. [00:35:32] Speaker A: I just mean, like, avoiding, like, guards and people that might have recognize this from the night before and that kind of thing. [00:35:41] Speaker F: Maybe. Maybe we send people that are a little bit less. I don't know how to say this nicely. But odd looking. [00:35:51] Speaker E: I can go. I've been working with a couple of local governments, so I might be able to flex that if somebody asks questions. [00:36:02] Speaker A: Cool. [00:36:03] Speaker F: Buddy system. [00:36:05] Speaker E: Yes, please. Ari, you want to come with me? [00:36:08] Speaker C: Sure. [00:36:09] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:36:10] Speaker D: Maybe we don't send. Maybe we don't send the two people with a heart condition out by themselves. [00:36:14] Speaker B: Wait. [00:36:18] Speaker E: Well, then come with us. [00:36:20] Speaker C: Stress. [00:36:22] Speaker E: You jump started me last night and you can jumpstart me again, right? [00:36:25] Speaker F: That's true. [00:36:28] Speaker E: We're in groups of three. Then. [00:36:29] Speaker F: Cool. Reconvene, add, uh, some time. [00:36:34] Speaker B: We'll just, I guess Auden and Nadia and I will just wait here. Sure, sure. Yeah. [00:36:44] Speaker A: Okay. Uh, have fun. We'll see you soon. And hopefully with some horses. [00:36:49] Speaker E: Can I just borrow some money? I'll give back what I don't spend, just in case. [00:36:53] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:36:54] Speaker C: Are you asking me? [00:36:56] Speaker A: I have. [00:36:57] Speaker D: I have 515 gold and, like, 15 more, probably. [00:37:04] Speaker E: Never mind. [00:37:05] Speaker C: Nadia hands you 50 because she's also participating. [00:37:11] Speaker D: I'm sorry, 37, not 50. [00:37:14] Speaker E: All right, cool. All right. [00:37:16] Speaker C: Okay, let's go. So you guys head out. Easy enough to find horses. A cart is a little bit more like. That's one that id might need to sort of finesse a little bit more. I do actually like the costs of these in classic d and D. So a riding horse is 75 and a draft horse is 50. So a draft horse is one that will pull the cart for you. But a riding horse will go long distances with a rider. That's that. And then a cart is 15. [00:37:53] Speaker E: Cool. So if we. If we spend 75, we'd have a draft horse and a cart. [00:38:01] Speaker C: Would that be another riding five? [00:38:03] Speaker D: We'd have a riding 65. [00:38:05] Speaker C: A 65 for a draft horse and a cart. [00:38:07] Speaker E: Would that be enough space for all of us? [00:38:10] Speaker B: Sure. [00:38:11] Speaker C: It's not gonna be, like, comfy. Not everyone can, like, sleep in it. [00:38:13] Speaker D: But it might not be a terrible idea to have, like, one riding horse, because then we have one faster option. [00:38:21] Speaker F: I don't know that Melbourne would propose. [00:38:22] Speaker D: That, but Grace's brain is happening. [00:38:26] Speaker C: That's valid. [00:38:28] Speaker A: Up to you guys. You guys are the shopping. [00:38:30] Speaker F: I don't know. [00:38:30] Speaker D: I am not the leader here. [00:38:34] Speaker E: Executive decision. Let's get another faster horse just in case. So worst case scenario, I think there's a way for us to have both of them help pull the cart. [00:38:50] Speaker F: I don't know how much probably riding. [00:38:52] Speaker E: Horse would like that, but. [00:38:53] Speaker F: Well, somebody just rides alongside. [00:38:56] Speaker E: Yep. [00:38:57] Speaker D: Like, Melbourne grew up in the countryside surrounded by, like, agriculture. I'm sure she probably maybe learned how to ride a horse at some point from a neighbor. [00:39:05] Speaker C: It's not hard to long distance ride a horse if they're walking. Like, that's not hard. Or even at, like, a trot. That's not. It's not bad. [00:39:14] Speaker E: Cool. [00:39:14] Speaker F: Nice. [00:39:15] Speaker E: Let's do that. [00:39:16] Speaker C: Okey doke. You guys come back with two horses and a cart after kind of. [00:39:23] Speaker D: How much does that come out to? [00:39:25] Speaker C: 65 plus 75. Whatever that is. [00:39:28] Speaker E: I'll just do the 65. [00:39:30] Speaker C: 70 plus 140. Thanks. 140. [00:39:33] Speaker E: We give amazing Nani I back her 50 goals. [00:39:38] Speaker C: Cool. That was the nicest thing you've done for her all day. Great. You guys come back with two horses, a cart, and a plan. [00:39:50] Speaker E: Just to be super clear for us and for the listeners, gazmesh is kind of southern centralized on the main large island. And where we're going is northeast into the desert, right? [00:40:04] Speaker C: Mm hmm. [00:40:05] Speaker E: Cool. [00:40:06] Speaker B: Woof. [00:40:07] Speaker C: Yeah. I think Nadia, like, looks over at odd and is, like, you're probably not gonna love it. [00:40:11] Speaker A: We did have to traverse the desert earlier, and it was not my favorite thing ever, but I will make do. [00:40:18] Speaker B: Sand is bad for machines. [00:40:22] Speaker C: That's also true. Yeah, we'll figure it out. [00:40:25] Speaker A: Auden might have a conversation with Myla while they're on their little shopping spree. [00:40:32] Speaker C: Sure. I think send it. [00:40:34] Speaker A: Just as they're kind of, like, prepping some stuff, she'll kind of be just, like, chattering and chattering and chattering and whatever. Like, oh, it's really cool how you're able to make that thing and then do the thing for the eid and just kind of like. And I think that after a moment of, like, just idle conversation, it'll go kind of quiet for a little bit before she says, so, like, with roommates. [00:41:04] Speaker B: She'S gonna, like, uh huh. [00:41:07] Speaker A: Squint, lean forward. I mean, like, we're all roommates, kind of. [00:41:12] Speaker B: Yeah, but there's, like, roommates. Then there's, like, roommates, you know? Yeah. It's like, two different things. [00:41:24] Speaker A: Okay, maybe. Maybe you'll have to point it out to me at some point in time. [00:41:30] Speaker B: Yeah. Yeah, for sure. Yeah. Uh. [00:41:38] Speaker A: Uh. [00:41:39] Speaker B: Go. Sorry. [00:41:40] Speaker A: Sorry. [00:41:40] Speaker B: No, you go. [00:41:43] Speaker A: I was, uh. [00:41:44] Speaker B: You could talk. [00:41:45] Speaker A: It looks really nice outside today. [00:41:46] Speaker B: Yeah, the. [00:41:47] Speaker A: So I'm having a nice. [00:41:48] Speaker B: Yeah, I can see through the wood planks. [00:41:50] Speaker A: A little bit of trip out there. [00:41:53] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. Sorry. I should look at my schematics. And she's gonna open her book. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, I know that you, like, grew, like, head in the book. I know that you grew up, like, in, like, the underwater deepness. [00:42:19] Speaker A: Yeah. Rooms are different because you just kind of, like, swim through them. [00:42:23] Speaker B: Yeah, exactly. [00:42:24] Speaker A: Really a need for walls and stuff. [00:42:26] Speaker B: Yeah. So if you ever have questions about anything, I would happily answer them. I know that we've kind of talked about things before, but if you have. I just sometimes, like, I know in my brain how to say it, but it's hard for me to say things, actually, you know? But I'll try my best. If you have any questions about anything ever. [00:42:52] Speaker A: Oh, I definitely will ask about stuff. [00:42:55] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:42:56] Speaker A: You know a lot. [00:42:57] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:42:58] Speaker A: So. [00:42:58] Speaker B: Yeah, it's just like, you know, sometimes when people, like, really like each other, they, like, spend a lot of time together. And that's what I meant with the whole roommates thing is, like, sometimes, like. Like. Like if you trust someone and you like them a lot, like, in a way that's, like, maybe more than, like, friends. Sometimes you. Because of that, you, like. You're like, oh, man, this would be, like, a good person that I trust to, like, live with and stuff. So, you know, it's like. It's like a trust factor. But sometimes, like. So sometimes roommates can just be like. Like roommates, you know, like. Like roommates. Like. Like roommates. You know, like hanging out friends. But sometimes with that, like, trust and with that, like, thing, then roommates can become like roommates, you know? But they have the thing. It's like a thing. [00:43:53] Speaker A: You have to say it like that. Where it's like roommates. [00:43:58] Speaker B: Yes, but it's also, like a brain thing, too. [00:44:03] Speaker A: Uh huh. Uh huh. [00:44:04] Speaker B: Yeah. Where it's like. [00:44:05] Speaker A: I think I get it. [00:44:06] Speaker B: Thank you for explaining. Absolutely. For sure. I'm glad that this could be very educational. An educational experience for you. Who knows some things and not others. [00:44:18] Speaker A: I know about roommates now. [00:44:20] Speaker B: Yeah. Easy, easy, easy conversation. Easy to have. [00:44:28] Speaker D: Poor Myla. [00:44:29] Speaker A: What is Nadia doing? [00:44:33] Speaker C: She's like, hold on, please. Dice, please. Dear God. Yeah, she's inside checking the hell out of both. [00:44:40] Speaker B: Oh, no, I like. [00:44:41] Speaker C: I like a ping pong. [00:44:44] Speaker B: Right. I feel like. I mean, I'm such. I'm so bad at charisma. [00:44:48] Speaker C: You don't want it just for the plot, Jay. [00:44:50] Speaker B: I mean, I let it be for content, for sure. Okay, go ahead. You can do. It's okay. [00:44:56] Speaker C: Go ahead. [00:44:57] Speaker B: No, it's okay. I rolled it. I rolled a four, so it's okay. [00:44:59] Speaker C: No, roll your dice. [00:45:00] Speaker B: I rolled a four. Okay. [00:45:07] Speaker C: Sorry, sorry. What'd you roll? [00:45:09] Speaker B: A four. [00:45:10] Speaker C: No. Okay, a four. Just checking. [00:45:12] Speaker E: Is that the one after three? [00:45:14] Speaker B: It's a four. [00:45:19] Speaker A: I rolled a flat twelve. [00:45:24] Speaker C: Okay, she definitely got more than both of you. So she's, like, watching this, like, this is the funniest thing I've seen in days. [00:45:35] Speaker A: I think, from Auden, she's definitely, like. There's definitely a lack of understanding, but also definitely kind of the, like, peeking over the glasses kind of situation of like, wait a minute, hold up. So I think that's what she gets from Auden. [00:45:56] Speaker B: Yeah. It's a nice day outside. Mila's like, yeah. [00:46:02] Speaker C: Oh, my God. [00:46:03] Speaker B: It's such a. Such a nice day outside. [00:46:06] Speaker C: That's so good. Yes. Okay. Incredible. She's like. She's not being very subtle with, like, how funny she's finding this. Like, she's not, like, out loud laughing, but if you looked over at her, she'd be, like, smirking. Yeah. [00:46:28] Speaker A: Auden is very preoccupied with her salt shakers. [00:46:33] Speaker B: Mila's very preoccupied with her book and trying to see the weather outside, even though she can't because everything's burned up. [00:46:44] Speaker C: Yeah. So the weather conversation is great and productive. Very great. [00:46:48] Speaker B: Productive. Honestly, I think it gets to the point where she kind of starts thinking. She's like, how did ought to know the weather outside if we can't see outside? [00:46:56] Speaker A: I imagine when, like, it and Melvin and Ari left that, like, you know, there was a little breeze that came through. She could probably see out the door. [00:47:04] Speaker B: Yeah. For sure, right? For sure. Yeah. Yes. Good weather. [00:47:08] Speaker A: All right. That's all that I wanted to ask Myla about. [00:47:12] Speaker C: Yeah, for sure. Definitely. All right, you guys will head out to Tetris the following. Well, actually, today, I think, because it's morning still. So get to do some. A little bit of travel at the beginning of the next episode and see what happens. Thanks for tuning in to episode four. [00:47:34] Speaker D: Hi, Hazel. [00:47:36] Speaker B: Hey, Hazque. [00:47:38] Speaker C: Thanks for tuning in. Sorry, my dog is the worst. [00:47:42] Speaker E: No, she's the best. [00:47:43] Speaker B: No, Hazel, sleep.
