[00:00:06] Speaker A: The sun beats down on a training arena that is open to the stark blue sky and cold wind. The biting air temporarily sprays the combatants with sand as their stances shift and their boots slam into forms and postures for both spellcasting and weapon wielding. As our view shifts up from the floor of the space, we see our participants Id, two casters and one other warrior. The two casters, guests from Ieclas halls of magic, are donned in black and green robes that spin with their wearers as they attempt to force their way through id stalwart shield. On the other side is a warrior of ia clea whose armor is painted a similar green but trimmed in a reflective silver that has caught a bit of froste. Lesson 13 you casters need to keep your distance a bit better. Try not to let me advance on you. It calls over the clangs of metal and mutters of somatic components. The nearest sorcerer attempts to teleport away in a manner that seems more selfish and weaker than Mayla's version of this magic. Id's thoughts race faster than his body can respond. Their left hand is open, their left foot is slightly forward, back right legs, knee is locked. Hearing and seeing only verbal components, they haven't cast anything else recently. Trying to get away and then unleash something bigger. Will this wizard to my left and the warrior in front of me try to prevent me from pursuing afterward? How much of their energy have they used? How far can I go if I need to get to them? But its reflexes are faster than his rambling strategies, and the spike of his war pick makes contact with the frozen sand between the metatarsal bones of the sorcerers foot before the casting is complete. But as they disappear and reappear some distance away, the damage is done and they stumble as they try to make more distance between themself and Id. Id Id is already closing. The wizard attempts to take advantage of his exposed flank, her hand crackling with lightning. But Ids shield is there, concealed by the movement of his starred cape as he turns, battery primed for accepting energy into its core. One left, ids inner voice chimes, directing his attention away from the spent caster and towards the warrior and his greatsword, which he can't do much about and simply accepts. He dashes towards the tumbled over sorcerer that's known near their foot, now stained red, and brings the hammer face of his weapon down on the part of the wrist that connects the radius to the scaphoid. Not as good as the fingers, but would still prevent most somatic components, it thinks. The sorcerer cries out in pain, immediately quelled by the healing magic from nearby followers of the mother, which id notes as a more brutal form of bodily mending that he has seen from others, stitching magical strands into and around their arm. Lesson 14 teleport behind your front line. Blades and armor are mental and physical deterrence. Let them be walls for you. Id looks expectantly back towards the sword wielding man in green and silver youd be a wall for them, right? The expression on the warriors face tells us that if the oncoming force is anything like id hed rather be a door. Nevertheless, the EA clean soldier charges forward with a shout, and the clashing sounds of metal reveal lessons 1516 and 17. [00:03:31] Speaker B: Yeah, that last sentence. No problem. [00:03:33] Speaker A: I know. Cause I practiced it, like five times. [00:03:36] Speaker C: Crushed it. [00:03:37] Speaker A: The Ea clean. The e a clean. The e a clean. [00:03:41] Speaker D: Yay. Clean. [00:03:42] Speaker B: Sorry. I'm sorry. I made a bad name. [00:03:45] Speaker A: It's good. It's actually a rad name. [00:03:48] Speaker D: It's a sick name. It's on us for not being able to say it. [00:03:52] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:04:03] Speaker D: Right. [00:04:04] Speaker B: Hazel, what do you think? She's like, looking at me, wagging her tail like we're excited. [00:04:09] Speaker E: I can see her tail in the corner of your camera. [00:04:12] Speaker B: There it is. What are you excited about? What are you excited about? [00:04:19] Speaker A: It's been a while since she's like. [00:04:21] Speaker C: Mom, you haven't clapped in so long. [00:04:25] Speaker B: Finally you come up at last. There you are. [00:04:31] Speaker E: I don't know why. It's really funny to me. You get really cute pets, really intense voices. [00:04:35] Speaker B: But here we are. Mother. I crave pets. Mother. [00:04:40] Speaker E: Finally, the time has come. She has clapped again. [00:04:47] Speaker D: I had to pull out my butch voice with a student the other day, and I made him cry. [00:04:54] Speaker A: Can you give us a sample? [00:04:56] Speaker D: No, because it would probably blow out my mic. And also, it's different when I'm angry in the moment. It's probably a little close to my Mario Kart voice, but a little bit more. [00:05:07] Speaker C: Mom. [00:05:08] Speaker D: Keep it in your pants. Keep it in your pants. [00:05:12] Speaker B: Keep it in your pants. [00:05:14] Speaker E: It's the funniest thing you've ever said. [00:05:16] Speaker B: Welcome to Spells and a d and D podcast with some steampunk elements. We are back with ark four. Very exciting. [00:05:25] Speaker D: Yay. [00:05:26] Speaker B: Don't. I'm not doing a recap because if you don't know what happened, you should go back and listen to arc three. [00:05:34] Speaker E: Too much to recap. [00:05:35] Speaker B: And then probably arcs two and one also. But, you know, just listen to the podcast. Just listen to us talk for hours and hours. [00:05:47] Speaker C: Gift of gab over here. [00:05:49] Speaker B: So we are doing scenes from a three month stint that happens in between arcs three and four, where everyone decided to go and do some research, some practicing, some teaching, of course. And we will get more into that later, but we have some more scenes to do. So who wants to go next? Because somebody's gotta go second. Jay is looking like they very much don't want to go. [00:06:22] Speaker D: Should I? We can. Should we roll for it or I can go. I can go. [00:06:26] Speaker C: We should roll for it. [00:06:28] Speaker F: What? [00:06:28] Speaker D: Should we roll? Should we roll d 20 or d six or dicks? Should we roll dix's? [00:06:34] Speaker E: I have three. I have a d three. [00:06:37] Speaker C: I'm rolling a d 20. [00:06:38] Speaker D: Oh, let's roll a d 20. Okay, hang on. I gotta give it one. Tap. Tap the tray. [00:06:44] Speaker B: It's like cracking an egg. [00:06:49] Speaker C: I got an eleven. [00:06:51] Speaker E: I'm starting off strong, boys. [00:06:54] Speaker C: With a. Oh, my gosh. [00:06:57] Speaker B: With a one. [00:06:58] Speaker A: Wow. [00:06:58] Speaker C: I wouldn't have it any other way. Grace. [00:07:01] Speaker D: The grace brand strikes again. So you wanna know something really funny, bitch? [00:07:07] Speaker E: The very first roll I did in this game was a natural one. And the very first game, the very first roll I did in another game was a wisdom save. And I also rolled a natural one. [00:07:18] Speaker C: Don't go in full circle, baby. [00:07:20] Speaker E: I'm doing so good. [00:07:21] Speaker B: It's called consistency, and it's good for content. So that means Meg is next. [00:07:29] Speaker C: Oh, sure. Overland travel was fun, fine, and swimming long distances was something she was accustomed to. But traveling by boat was a wholly new experience for her. It was sort of like the airship they had traveled on with astern and helm decks to observe the roiling sea below and the quiet hum of travellers milling about. Auden rested her chin in her hands, elbows on the railing, as a gust of salty sea air blew her hair around her face. Despite her best attempts to tie it back, this was the third day in a row that Myla had been reading and studying up at the libraries and laboratories of Votara. And as much as Auden enjoyed sitting and listening to Myla talk about what she was learning, being stuck inside the mostly quiet was driving her up the wall just a bit. Deciding to clear out before she started bothering Myla, she decided to go hippocampus watching. So she bought a ticket and climbed onto a large boat with handful of vacationers from the mainland. She stared out across the wide blue in front of her. If she leapt off the boat right now and swam as hard and fast as she could, she could probably reach Seia by the time the sun went down. Not that she would want to. Not that they would want her to. A cloud passed over the sun, dimming the lighter reefs below the surface. Auden wondered if anyone on the ship knew about all the creatures and relics and ruins below the choppy surface of the sea. She wondered if all the water were to magically disappear, if she'd be able to see Nador's sunken ship from here. She wondered if they were even still there, or if they had finally escaped their metal confines, or if the currents had washed it somewhere else. Or if the pod had gone and interfered. The boat hit a particularly large swell, rocking aggressively. Uddin stood back, steadying herself. She decided she was done wondering. The boat docked soon after. There had been a brief glimmer of something reflective off the starboard side, but no actual hippocampi breached the water. Leaving the ship, Auden found she still had time on her hands before she needed to find dinner for herself and Myla. She followed the boardwalks and cobblestone walkways down to the soft, sandy beaches Votara was known for. She let out a slow exhale, kicked off her sandals, scooping them into her webbed hands, and trudged towards the shoreline. A few small crabs skittered out of her way as she approached the wet sand, and she dug her toes into the cool ground beneath her. The water lapped up, swelling, frothing, and spritzing just inches from her toes. She stared, watching it. She could almost taste the salt in the air, feel the cold water against her skin. She stayed where she was rooted. The water failed to rise to meet her. She sighed and turned to walk inland, thoughts sloshing around much like the tide surging. Botara was nice. It really was. But she hadn't realized just how close to Seiya it was. She didn't think about everything that would come bubbling up after seeing the ocean again. Auden hadn't ever been seasick before. Maybe this is what it was like. She slipped her sandals back on and took one last look. Lots and lots of blue. She turned back toward the boardwalk. She had passed a curry place on the way here. She wanted to pick some up on the way back home. [00:10:56] Speaker F: Myla had grown accustomed to traveling workshops, recently unfolding a tabletop from a newly enchanted bag of holding. Don't ask what happened to the last one. She meticulously lays out her tools. Seeing her older Smith's tools with her recently acquired woodcarvers tools made her nostalgic. She thinks back to when her days were as simple as working on her personal projects. The world seems much bigger now. She lets out a huff and gets to work. Removing her gun from her holster, she admires the work she had already accomplished. The grip panels had been embedded with pieces of shells and sea glass Auden had gifted her through their travels. All that is left is to finish carving the arcane runes on the barrel. She was so close to being finished, but still had work to do. The idea of this work made her giddy. Tools in hand, she gets to it. Each rune emboldens both herself and her weapon as she crafts into the barrel of her gun what she craves most. First, she carves Arcana. She had recently learned that great Arcana can lead to even greater power with the discovery that epicenters of magical importance can tend to thin the veil separating mortals and gods. Maybe the secret to godlike power is consuming more magic. Apparently thats easy for her to do. Then she carves protection. Most of her time these past few months have been spent dedicated to this cause. She continues to toil over how best to protect ID and the contraption keeping him alive. It has always been a protector. Maybe now she could do the same for him, finally return the favor. She considers the potion they found in the institute and her weeks of research into what it could have been, or rather, what it could make people become. It wasn't until maybe a week ago that she was able to formulate an anti potion to counteract those effects. Maybe the whole party could use a little bit more protection. Next is belonging. She thinks back with perfect recollection to the past handful of months traveling with ID, Melwyn, and Auden has been the closest crew she has had in a long time. She remembers Melwyn seeing her family, hugging them as they held her. They love her so much. She deserves to feel that belonging on a plane that is safe. She deserves to be a child, unburdened by those who are selfish and cruel. She craves for Melbourne, what she craves for herself. A house that is a home without fear of it being ripped out from underneath her feet. Last, she carves the word hunger. She had grown accustomed to what that feels like internally. She had always hungered to know more, be more like the ocean, swallowing shipwrecks whole or choking out beams of sun infiltrating the water's surface. She thinks about the ocean a lot. But much like the sea, she wants to never be satisfied, to always push herself farther, to always learn more, to always be more. Maybe then they could take down the person responsible for the pains they have suffered with the final runes carved, the gun flares with a flash of indigo light, becoming an outward extension of Myla's prowess and craft. Perhaps this time, her most prized creation will finally be the one to break others. [00:14:22] Speaker E: Emma prefaced mine with saying I took a very different approach to having a scene where actually, this is a conversation between Myla. What's my name? [00:14:32] Speaker A: We stole Jay's character. [00:14:34] Speaker G: I. Mila. [00:14:36] Speaker E: Now. [00:14:36] Speaker D: No. [00:14:37] Speaker A: You've heard of character assassination. Now get ready for character kidnapping. [00:14:41] Speaker D: You're wearing my skin. [00:14:44] Speaker E: Listen, we have been saying since I joined the pod, then you and I are just the same person in different races. So, anyway, this is a conversation between melon and. Idk. [00:15:10] Speaker G: Alright, uh, let me just kind of wait for a bit, and when everything is done, we can assemble the euros. Just make sure the filling doesn't burn. Are you mad at me or something? [00:15:27] Speaker A: Not at this particular moment. [00:15:30] Speaker G: Wait, what do you mean, not at this particular? So you were. [00:15:34] Speaker A: I have been. In the past. Your emotion predicament did not make some conversations easy to navigate. [00:15:41] Speaker G: I. That's fair, I suppose. What did I do, exactly? [00:15:50] Speaker A: You didn't do much of anything. And that's part of the problem. And also not your fault at all. Which makes everything that slightest bit more complicated. [00:16:02] Speaker G: I guess it would. Sorry. Not sorry. Not sure. [00:16:11] Speaker A: I'm not sure either. Have you gotten any of them back for yourself since the institute? [00:16:18] Speaker G: No. [00:16:22] Speaker A: Why not? [00:16:24] Speaker G: Well, I don't think I want to. Not right now, at least. Milo got mad at me that I hadn't taken anymore after the first three, so I took, like, six or seven at once after that, but that hurt. And then we were doing all the crazy school stuff, so. [00:16:41] Speaker A: Yeah, then maybe this time on the road is a good time to try to get more of them back. No, Myla to get frustrated. No citizens to get confused. As much time as we need to recover after, huh? [00:16:56] Speaker G: I didn't think of that. Can I ask you something? [00:17:03] Speaker A: On top of the others the last few weeks? Sure. [00:17:07] Speaker G: If we could find a way to, um. Cure all the weird goop. [00:17:12] Speaker E: And she just kind of gestures to his arms. [00:17:16] Speaker G: Ouch. Would you want that? [00:17:20] Speaker A: I'm not sure. I'd like it to just work properly. Pretty much gotten used to it. And I don't want big change right now, in the middle of everything. [00:17:29] Speaker G: I mean, I didn't mean now. Just eventually. [00:17:34] Speaker A: Maybe someday, if I ever feel like the expanse will let me restore. [00:17:40] Speaker G: That's fair. I'm sorry about the whole patron puppet thing. [00:17:48] Speaker A: That was an easy decision. You deserve to be free of that. [00:17:53] Speaker G: But you're already all goopy and your heart keeps stopping. [00:17:57] Speaker A: I think the stopping part is more the mind flayer who has actually been slightly helpful. [00:18:03] Speaker G: Wait, once. Huh? You've been talking to it? [00:18:09] Speaker A: I didn't have much of a choice at the time. [00:18:13] Speaker G: Do you want me to try and get rid of it again? [00:18:21] Speaker A: Not yet. Let's see if it decides to help again. [00:18:25] Speaker G: Okay. Are you sure you're not the leader? [00:18:31] Speaker A: I'm sure. I can't wait to let Mila make all the decisions again. [00:18:37] Speaker G: Sure. You're sure? [00:18:39] Speaker A: If you keep asking, I'm gonna start questioning myself. [00:18:42] Speaker G: Good. [00:18:45] Speaker A: Maybe you should be the leader once you have some more experience. [00:18:49] Speaker G: Nope, I'm good. [00:18:51] Speaker A: That's my thinking, too. I think the food's ready, smells amazing. [00:18:59] Speaker E: And just before they start eating, Melan's gonna give the grump a hug. [00:19:06] Speaker C: Does he hug her back? [00:19:08] Speaker A: No comment. [00:19:10] Speaker C: Wow. [00:19:11] Speaker D: What? [00:19:11] Speaker A: It's not part of the scene. It's not part of the scene. The scene's done. [00:19:17] Speaker E: That's so cold. That's really. [00:19:20] Speaker A: We don't know whether he did or nothing. [00:19:23] Speaker D: That means director's cut brain. [00:19:26] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:19:27] Speaker D: Which means that he gives it a, like, half like shoulder nudges with, like a. With a one tap on, like, the shoulder blade. [00:19:34] Speaker C: You should. You should tell us. But then we will only share the answer on the patreon. [00:19:40] Speaker A: I was gonna say deliver your head kit, your hug head cannons to our discord. [00:19:45] Speaker C: Oh, that's also really. [00:19:49] Speaker A: Hug cannon. [00:19:50] Speaker E: Ben and I were writing that right before session, and at one point, both of us were just like. These two are just two sides of the same coin. Huh? [00:19:58] Speaker C: Emotionally constipated. [00:20:03] Speaker A: What could have caused that? [00:20:06] Speaker E: To clarify, one thing for the audience. No, Mellon has not taken back any more emotions in our little time. [00:20:12] Speaker B: Skip, there's a whole lot that we talked about for these three months, so here's some lore drop. So, in these three months, Myla researched this black and purple potion that we keep finding places. She was able to figure out kind of what it did. When it's consumed, it causes revivification. That's not a word. [00:20:35] Speaker D: Whatever. [00:20:36] Speaker B: It's a word now. Of the dead person and puts them under some sort of, like, command ish sort of spell. Same with an alive person, though. It becomes more of a choice. Myla has figured out an antidote potion that costs money to make, but can reverse the effects of this. She did have to spend two of these three months researching all of this and eventually made a couple antidotes for the party on the road with Auden, who was going to check on Keough in Darheim, found that he was okay. He's staying with the blacksmith up there. And so Auden and Myla went back to kinder to airship, their way to Votara, where Myla did some more research and accidentally sort of found a safe house of a spies alliance. So that's cool. [00:21:29] Speaker D: Teehee. I rolled a 33 for investigation on that one. [00:21:38] Speaker B: Super fun paint, DM. [00:21:40] Speaker C: Laugh. [00:21:43] Speaker B: So, yeah, she under kind of duress. This spy that came back to the safe house told her that there was some political unrest happening in Votara, which is why she's there, and found that a lot of magical epicenters, which is what Milo's looking for in order to find maybe where the veil between gods and mortals is, that this spy is very convinced that there's a lot of magic in being underground or being close to the ground, that there's a lot of energy there. Found out that Auden and Milo then went to the sanctuary quiste, where they found out that a lot of Fleria's followers don't really follow her. They just kind of acknowledge her existence and then move on. She's the goddess of green magic, and they just. They use green magic to keep their land happy and plentiful and that sort of thing that they're very particular about resources being used, but they were pretty welcoming to Auden and Myla. They were able to stay for a little bit. They have no idea about Aarondrill and what he's doing. So kind of a dead end there. Yaran was also talking about Laria, and Laria then used yarn as a yemenite, a sort of vessel to communicate some information that she used to farm and do very small scale green magic stuff on her own land, and eventually was able to kind of grow the magic and use it for bigger things, longer lasting things. That sort of stuff helped her community a lot and eventually became so adept at green magic that a veil sort of appeared in front of her, and she was able to pass over and become the goddess of greenhouse magic. There might be something after the veil that prevents someone from becoming a God, but we're unsure because she was not able to tell them that. Laria decided to step in because while a lot of the gods are arguing about what to do about Aern drill, Laria just decided to do something. So she sent Djarin down, hopefully in order to help these people who are the most prepared or could be the most prepared to fight Arendril. Because if Arendril crossed over into the gods realm, that seems like disaster for them. So she decided that she needed to do something about it. On day one, after leaving the institute, iD's heart stopped again, which is what was referenced in the id and Melwyn dialogue. Melwyn does a spare. The dying Mila does a lot of like intervention as well to keep him from dying. He doesn't die, he does just pass out. And Myla is able to patch it and also ends up making a sort of, well, an EpiPen. Right. Jay decided to call it an epid pen. [00:24:44] Speaker D: Epid pen. [00:24:45] Speaker B: You can take it as you want. Copyright in hopes that if his heart stops again, Melwyn can do something about it while the team is split. Yeah, it looks like things are sort of fading in terms of ID's mechanisms. Not sure what's going on there. [00:25:03] Speaker E: Oh, that would have been a really good question for me to ask, actually. What does ID's mechanism look like now under detect magic. [00:25:14] Speaker B: Oh, sorry. [00:25:16] Speaker E: I should have asked that before. [00:25:18] Speaker B: I didn't think about it. [00:25:19] Speaker E: I'm sorry. [00:25:21] Speaker A: Gender reveal. [00:25:27] Speaker B: He's definitely sort of baby's gay. [00:25:30] Speaker E: Congrats. [00:25:31] Speaker D: Sorry. [00:25:33] Speaker B: It's losing. It's losing a bit of red. The blue is kind of there, a little bit stronger than the red is, but the yellow and the, like, clear are sort of invading a little bit more than they have been in the past. It seems like there's some kind of unbalance that is causing a lot of distress within its like, biomechanical parts. This is not something we actually talked about. I know it was on your list, but no one then asked for it again. But Mila's shroud connections have kind of told her that they keep seeing this, like, blue haired rogue that keeps coming around and she keeps stealing, like just stuff. It's all random stuff. It seems to be like parts and boskite, and not just from them, but from like a lot of different shipments and that sort of thing. Thanks for the time for the lore drop, but everyone is meeting up back in Ingen, in gaznish. [00:26:38] Speaker A: Ingen, the capital of gaznish. [00:26:40] Speaker G: Did we have a say while we're meeting the others? [00:26:43] Speaker A: Yeah, definitely. [00:26:47] Speaker B: For information sharing and gathering. You guys can pick up some sending stones. [00:26:53] Speaker G: Fuck yeah, boy. [00:26:54] Speaker B: Let's go, let's go. You can get two that connect to each other for 50 50 gold. For ease of information sharing and meeting up points. Rendezvous. [00:27:10] Speaker D: We can take that out of the party fund. [00:27:12] Speaker E: I'm gonna say the leaders get the two. [00:27:15] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:27:15] Speaker B: You guys have a party fund, right? After all that travel, we're doing a smash cut right into a chase as the Ingen night time is very calm, but it's being broken up by this girl and her blue hair, and she slips around a corner, like, just out of its eyesight. She's running, the party's chasing her, and the ingen soldiers are chasing them. So we're gonna see how this goes. It's gonna be really fun. If you want to rearrange your positions in this area, you can, but you can't go any further forward than id is currently. [00:27:55] Speaker D: Auden can be in front of Myla if she wants. [00:27:58] Speaker A: Yeah, Auden's really fast. [00:27:59] Speaker E: So I was gonna say, I'm pretty sure we've established that Melan is the slowest in the party. [00:28:04] Speaker C: She's got little legs. [00:28:05] Speaker E: She got little legs. Is Myla dragging her along? So what's happening here? [00:28:10] Speaker A: Do we want to do level up stuff before we, like, actually do it? [00:28:15] Speaker B: Good call. Ben, you want to go first? [00:28:17] Speaker A: Sure. Just to kind of COVID stuff. Over those three months, we went from level seven to level nine. So we've got two levels worth of stuff to tell all y'all. First of all, I made a change for id. He previously had the heavy armor master feat, and that hadn't come up a lot. And as we get into higher levels, things like magic and magical weapons are gonna be showing up more and more and more, presumably. So Id has gotten slightly more used to things like using his shield and using his weapons, as opposed to using his body to block things. So there's where that change has happened. Heavy armor master is out, and the sentinel feat is in. He's still in protector boy mode, but in a much more offensive attacking manor. In terms of the level ups, id got 22 more hit points shoutouts to having plus four constitution, which means that he's at 102 base hit points, which is. Which makes me feel very good about myself and my life, honestly. I love having lots of hit points and high armor class in dungeons and dragons. At level eight, Paladin, as with all, all character classes, you get an option of an ASI or a feat or whatever else your gamekeeper decides to do. And I picked up Mageslayer for Ed due to training against lots of different casters around the expanse. Went to lots of different cities and helped them train, which also trained himself. Mageslayer is kind of sick with Sentinel because it lets you use your opportunity attacks for more things. They both do and they combo off of each other. So Mageslayer on an attack, if you hit somebody, that's concentrating, they roll their concentration with disadvantage, which is going to be amazing. And Mageslayer also lets you take opportunity attacks against people that cast within 5ft of you. So that's an opportunity attack bonus. Sentinel does very similar things. It makes their movement zero and it lets you opportunity attack even if they disengage. And it lets you opportunity attack. I think if they attack somebody else, that's right next to you. So lots, lots of reaction usage for ID where he didn't have a lot of reaction usage before outside of regular opportunity attacks. So he's trying to lock people down. And then finally at level nine, paladins get third level spells. Of note, the subclass that id is gets him gaseous form and haste, which I think is really interesting. I feel like the like thinning of his goop, which we still don't have like an actual technical name for, I'm realizing. [00:31:18] Speaker E: What are you talking about? That's a very technical name for. [00:31:22] Speaker A: Is allowing him to move faster and in different ways. I think it's like, it's very interesting that like, while the red of it is going away and it seems like it's not working as well, it's also getting faster and yeah, I'm just thinking about haste and gaseous formula. I also have some other third level spells that you can theorize. That's it. [00:31:48] Speaker B: If you min max in my game, I will kick you out. [00:31:51] Speaker A: I've been min maxing the whole time. [00:31:54] Speaker B: I know. And you're on thin ice. I'm just kidding. [00:32:00] Speaker C: I've been Max making suboptimal choices for the Flav I. [00:32:05] Speaker E: This is one of the least optimal characters I've ever made, and it hurts me to my soul. [00:32:09] Speaker A: It's very optimal for what id wants to do. Have I made the strongest paladin? No. Have I multiclassed to become even stronger? No. Are any of my stats 20? No. Therefore. [00:32:23] Speaker D: Can'T really. [00:32:24] Speaker B: Right. That's why you're on thin ice so far. [00:32:26] Speaker A: Okay, got it. [00:32:27] Speaker D: If ven's on thin ice and I'm on thin ice, who's crashing through first? [00:32:33] Speaker A: Who's making the ice cubes? [00:32:36] Speaker D: Who's making the ice cubes? [00:32:41] Speaker B: All right, who's next? [00:32:43] Speaker E: Melons is gonna be super short because I took a wild rep for this. This is one of, like I just said, this is one of the least optimal characters I've ever made. And I know that this is one of the least optimal characters I've ever made because I optimized her back when she was a warlock and then I built her backwards. I purposely made her so much worse. So I hope you like the story. Contrary to where we might have thought Melwyn was going with her levels, I actually took two more levels in sorcerer, which to refresh everybody. Melwyn's level split is seven levels in divine soul sorcerer and two levels inscribed wizard. So now I met a seven two split for level nine. I got a grand total of nine gp from my two level ups because I rolled real bad. And at divine soul sorcerer level six, I got something called empowered healing, which means once per turn, when either myself or an ally within 5ft of me rolls to determine the number of hit points that a spell restores. So say either myself ID or Myla casts cure wounds, I can spend a sorcery point to reroll any number of those dice once, which is helpful. Or maybe not, because maybe you roll a one and then you roll another one. Who knows? [00:33:59] Speaker C: Auden's is also not all that complicated. I don't remember how many hit points I had before I didn't write it down, but she has 113 now. [00:34:07] Speaker D: Woo woohoo. [00:34:09] Speaker C: Whoa. Yeah. For my ability score increase, I decided to take one index and one in con. So now I have a 14 index, which gives me a 16 ac because of barbarian stuff, and then an 18 in con. So she's harder to hit and heartier to hit also, I thought long and hard about that one. At level nine, she also picked up something called brutal critical. I wrote it with an exclamation mark, so I had to say it like that. But that basically just means that anytime I roll a crit, I get to roll an extra damage dice to be more brutal. So, teehee. [00:34:48] Speaker D: Ayla is no longer a battlesmith. She is now an artillerist because she's more on the sidelines. Now that we've got another beefcake to be up in the fray, we don't need Xander, we need something else. So she's an artilleris now. We do need. We need Xander emotionally, but not mechanically. So that's. Which means I'll be switching out a few features, but the biggest of which is I'm swapping out my steel defender for Eldridge cannons. I've already talked about my flavor of it to Anastasia and I'm pretty excited. [00:35:23] Speaker B: It's so dumb. [00:35:25] Speaker D: It's not dumb. [00:35:26] Speaker E: It's so amazing. [00:35:28] Speaker B: I love it. I love it and it's so weird. [00:35:32] Speaker D: Let me live. Mila also has an arcane firearm, which basically functions as a spellcast focus now, but it also does a little extra damage if I cast spells through it, which is fun. At 8th level, I picked up a feat. I picked up the gunner feat, which ups my dex by one, bringing it to an 18, because fuck odd numbers. And it also ignores the reload properties of guns. It allows you to shoot within 5ft without disadvantage as well, which is a sadeena. So if I'm in melee and I want to shoot someone, I can. For my 9th level level up, I took a level in rogue. That's right, besties. We're multi classing. Pew, pew, pew. Which means that I also gave myself expertise in stealth and arcana. So I'm super, super sneaky and super knowledgeable about magic. Now I get one d six sneak attack. And I have learned thieves can't. [00:36:23] Speaker B: That's it. Thieves can't. [00:36:24] Speaker D: Wetland thieves can't dance. [00:36:26] Speaker F: I know you can't. [00:36:30] Speaker B: That was not a chance. [00:36:31] Speaker D: No. [00:36:34] Speaker C: I thought it was great. I liked it. [00:36:36] Speaker B: Awesome. Okay. [00:36:39] Speaker C: I think that every barbarian is cursed to have bad initiative roles. If I were to. If I were to throw that out there. [00:36:50] Speaker E: I am in Spain without the a spin. I am in spin. [00:36:59] Speaker B: You guys already know who it is, so I. Not a secret. This map is very tall. So we're gonna speak in terms of, like, top to bottom of map. That's probably the best way to do it. It's like, currently starting. [00:37:16] Speaker C: Yeah, crunchy. [00:37:19] Speaker E: The k on. [00:37:22] Speaker B: No, it's that you can't put your hand in it and take it back. [00:37:25] Speaker D: Damn it. [00:37:26] Speaker B: It gets stuck. Everyone's sort of in the top left corner of this map. So far, there are five soldiers who are chasing after you guys. And you guys saw this blue haired person slip around a corner. They are going to do things you cannot see. [00:37:44] Speaker E: Sus. [00:37:47] Speaker B: And now it is going to be Mila's turn. Milo, what are you doing? [00:37:52] Speaker D: Mila is going to turn to Mel when it's gonna say, I think that they're going this way. So I'm gonna try and go around the back way. I don't. You could go wherever you go. But just so you know, that's what I'm doing, and I'm gonna go really fast. For her action, she is going to summon an Eldridge cannon in the space next to her. She reaches to her side belt and pulls out a small metal contraption. And in doing so, she just sort of throws it on the ground next to her. And in a flurry of metallic rings and wood carved pieces, it can turn into a small or tiny creature. I'm gonna turn this one into a tiny creature as I summon a force below. And this force ballista as she throws it on the ground, almost Bakugan style. Right. It hurts. It turns into a very tiny creature. It's a very small version. Cause she wants to carry it with her in this moment. But it turns into a very small sea otter holding a little gun. [00:38:53] Speaker E: Of course. [00:38:54] Speaker C: Yes. [00:38:56] Speaker D: And she just object interaction, picks it up, puts it on her shoulder. Bonus action is going to cast expeditious retreat on herself. Auden and ID are curving from their perspective around the right side of a building. Myla is going to stop where she is and go left, curving around the other side of the building, knowing where this blue haired figure had went. [00:39:18] Speaker E: The map stopped existing for us. [00:39:22] Speaker C: Oh, you fell off the edge of the world. Like flat earth style, say, well, Myla. [00:39:28] Speaker E: We knew thee well. [00:39:31] Speaker D: Into the darkness, just into the void, you know, no big deal. [00:39:37] Speaker E: Normal fantasy Thursday. You do hear Melan very briefly. [00:39:41] Speaker G: Go mine. I'm not very sure that's a. Oh, okay, she's gone. [00:39:45] Speaker D: I'll catch you on the other side. She runs away for my free check. Could I just make a perception check. [00:39:53] Speaker F: To see if I could figure out. [00:39:54] Speaker D: Which way this figure is controlled? [00:39:56] Speaker F: Continuing on. [00:39:57] Speaker B: Sure. [00:39:58] Speaker D: Amazing. Seven. [00:40:01] Speaker B: Hard to tell. Nighttime, it's dark, you know. [00:40:05] Speaker D: Yeah. She just is a blur. That's almost like a very light aura of purpley magic as she starts like full runner sprinting with this little otter on her shoulder down the alleyways. And she continues on, remembering back to one of the first confrontations she had with Id and Arghanong, which also involved going down a lot of alleys and trying to get away from people. But now she's the pursuer. [00:40:36] Speaker A: Id will turn to Audyn, who's right behind him, and say, she dashed right and then kept going. Get her. And we'll cover his hand in an oily substance and touch Auden and cast haste on her. [00:40:52] Speaker C: Big zooms. [00:40:53] Speaker A: Yeah, it's not super comfortable because I just realized the flavor of covering an ocean creature in an oily substance is not good. But it does make you go really fast and have an extra limited action. [00:41:10] Speaker E: I mean, oil and water don't mix. It's just on the surface. [00:41:16] Speaker A: And then it will. [00:41:17] Speaker D: That will so much better party dynamic. [00:41:22] Speaker A: These guys will probably get up to Melwyn. So it is going to step back. 510, 1520. Right behind Melwyn. Just like kind of bumping her back very gently with his shield and be like going, follow on. [00:41:38] Speaker G: I'm not very good at running. Sorry. [00:41:41] Speaker A: That's okay. I'm right behind you. And he will kind of post up in this alleyway, ready to fend off these guards. Can he make a free intimidation check by it being nighttime and him looking spooky and goopy. [00:41:57] Speaker C: Spooky. [00:41:58] Speaker E: Goopy boy. [00:41:59] Speaker B: Spooky, spooky. [00:42:01] Speaker A: I will also bonus action to do my shifting thing. So he'll, like, activate his heart heavily, gain some temporary hit points, all that good stuff. [00:42:13] Speaker B: Yeah, you can make a check. [00:42:15] Speaker A: Intimidation. That's a nine. [00:42:19] Speaker B: Okay. All right. These gaznash soldiers are trying to catch up with you. One of them moves right into id's space. These guys are all just super lined up right behind. Right in front of me. [00:42:34] Speaker C: What are they doing? [00:42:34] Speaker B: Is there an alleyway between some houses that they're, like. They're following? They're following your path, and it makes a lot of sense for them. So currently, they're just kind of lined up on the top of the map with it at the bottom of this, like, tower. The guy in front is going to attack you because he's within space, but all the other guys don't have their. They're not in melee with you, so they can't attack you. Oh, does a 19 hit. [00:43:08] Speaker A: Yes. [00:43:09] Speaker B: This guy takes his pike and, oh, does ten damage to you. Okay, just straighten the stomach. [00:43:17] Speaker A: I'm still in my temporary points. [00:43:19] Speaker B: That's his turn. [00:43:20] Speaker A: 92 roll concentration, which I am a crush with a natural 14. [00:43:25] Speaker C: Yay. [00:43:25] Speaker B: Awesome. [00:43:26] Speaker A: 22 noise. [00:43:28] Speaker B: All right, cool. That's the soldier's turn. Audit. It's your turn. [00:43:32] Speaker C: The barbarian thing, where you get half of your movement speed when you bonus. Action. Rage. [00:43:37] Speaker B: Yes. [00:43:38] Speaker C: Does that also get applied to haste, or is that its own different thing altogether? [00:43:43] Speaker E: So your hasted action is separate from your. [00:43:46] Speaker A: Meg's talking about the target speed is doubled from haste. So would. Would it be half of her original movement, or would it be half of her hasted, doubled movement? [00:43:56] Speaker E: You're already hasted, and then you're raging, and then I'm assuming you're moving. [00:44:04] Speaker B: I would say that it counts. I think that if you're. If your speed. If your movement speed is doubled. [00:44:10] Speaker C: So I can move 120. No, wait, hang on. Yeah. So movement double to 80. [00:44:15] Speaker B: Then you can get half, which is 4120. [00:44:20] Speaker C: Wow. Okay, great. Oh, I think it kind of, like, slaps the goo, and it's just kind of, like, super jazzed. Let me rephrase. [00:44:36] Speaker E: Too late. [00:44:37] Speaker C: It's not a good way of raising it. [00:44:39] Speaker E: Too late. It's too late. [00:44:41] Speaker B: Commit. [00:44:43] Speaker C: I think she's super jazzed. About it. And so she's gonna just kind of say, yeah, yeah. And she'll nod and she'll enter her flow state and sort of spring into action. She's gonna just, you know, race car noises. Auden takes off. And I think that, like, in their travels, it was pretty dull for Auden where it was a lot of, like, learning, a lot of talking, a lot of researching. And so I think to finally be back in, like, a little bit of, like, peril and some risk, I think that's, like, almost intoxicating for her. She just bolts, like, south. She just runs forward. She's like, running into, like, trash cans and crates and just kind of, like, pushing them off as she just, like, almost like a dog with zoomies as she runs. And it's like she's got a little trail of, like, you know, in cartoons and they have, like, the little, like, like, motion lines. But if you look closely, it's not motion lines, it's a, like, thin whip like tail. Almost like a manta raise as she's running, scrambled around trying to find this blue haired individual that she's never met before and just being really excited to be, like, running for the first time in a while. That's her turn. [00:45:57] Speaker B: You can run further. [00:46:00] Speaker C: Oh, I could dash. [00:46:01] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:46:02] Speaker B: So you used your movement, which was 80, and then that extra 40 was just from raging, so you still have an action and then an additional action on top of that. You're so right. [00:46:12] Speaker C: Oh, my gosh. Oh, great. Okay, then. Sorry, I totally forgot about that. So I'll take the dash bonus action from haste to dash again. So that'll be another 40ft of movement for her. [00:46:26] Speaker B: This is so ridiculous. [00:46:28] Speaker C: Or is that also doubled from haste for 80 more feet? [00:46:31] Speaker D: That's also doubled from haste, that 200ft of movement without even using your action. [00:46:38] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:46:39] Speaker D: Holy shit. [00:46:42] Speaker C: Um. [00:46:43] Speaker B: Ah. You ruined my. [00:46:45] Speaker C: I think she's gonna cut across. I don't know where to go. Just briefly look down this alleyway. Okay. And 60 to look down this alleyway also. [00:46:56] Speaker B: Okay. [00:46:58] Speaker C: Gosh, I don't know. [00:47:00] Speaker D: That's so wild. [00:47:03] Speaker C: It said go and she went. [00:47:06] Speaker E: I mean, she followed directions. [00:47:08] Speaker C: Yeah. 70. 65. 70. 75. [00:47:14] Speaker E: I love just watching you uncover the map as you go. [00:47:17] Speaker C: Okay, I'm gonna just go 85. No, wait. 80. 80 solid 80. That's it. She's done. She's run and she's just gonna call really loudly. Oh, she's probably not gonna do that. It's nighttime. She won't do that. She's just gonna hang out there. But she doesn't have an attack, so she's gonna just kind of hang out. [00:47:35] Speaker B: No, but you do have your original action as well. [00:47:39] Speaker C: Yeah, that's so true. [00:47:41] Speaker D: You could pinch yourself or hit yourself to keep up your rage if you wanted to. [00:47:44] Speaker C: Um, what would happen if I. Sorry, gang. I'm not used to running 200ft in a round. Should I make it? [00:47:54] Speaker B: Sure. [00:47:55] Speaker C: Should I make it 80 more feet with a dash for my action? [00:47:58] Speaker D: Actually, you can make it to 80. [00:47:59] Speaker C: Let's make it 280. Why not? She's gonna run some more. She'll go 510, 50, 20. I found her. [00:48:09] Speaker B: I found her. [00:48:12] Speaker E: She really just read around the whole map. [00:48:15] Speaker C: Great. I think she'll just kind of run up to her and say, why are you running? I think she's got, like, crazy. I think she's got crazy eyes. Super juiced and hasted. [00:48:32] Speaker B: Okay, is that your turn? [00:48:35] Speaker C: Yes. I'm done. For real this time. Sorry that took so long. [00:48:37] Speaker B: Oh, goodness, no. That was incredible. So you run 200, like 60ft in this round, uncover a whole bunch of maps. You ended up going south, moving around a bunch of houses, looking down a lot of alleyways, before eventually finding this blue haired individual. Melwin, it's your turn. You want to go 280ft in a route? [00:49:01] Speaker E: Literally could not. Even if I wanted to. I mean, I could. I just don't have that smile. Do I just run or do I attempt to be helpful? Something that Melan is historically not very good at? [00:49:18] Speaker C: You know what? She will. [00:49:19] Speaker E: She will risk the opportunity attack and start living down the alleyway that Auden just ran down. [00:49:29] Speaker B: Okay, let me know. Yeah, he'll attack you because. Yeah, cuz why not? You know? Doesn't eleven hit you? [00:49:41] Speaker E: Nah, barely. [00:49:43] Speaker A: I'll use my reaction to sentinel attack him because he attacked a creature within 5ft of me. [00:49:49] Speaker B: Cool. [00:49:50] Speaker A: I don't think I hit I. [00:49:56] Speaker B: 1212 at twelve hits. [00:50:00] Speaker A: Yeah, just like, smack him with the butt of my war pick in the forehead. In the same mood that one would spritz a cat with a spray bottle for twelve points of damage. [00:50:19] Speaker B: Okay, this guy just dies. [00:50:22] Speaker A: I don't want him to die. I'm non lethally. I have had communications with the government of this city. I don't want to kill their soldiers. [00:50:30] Speaker B: Good call. Okay, this guy's unconscious. I'm gonna leave him there just in. [00:50:34] Speaker E: Case that changes what I call. I didn't realize they only had twelve hit points. And you can't be non lethal with magic. So Meowen's just running now? [00:50:45] Speaker B: Great. [00:50:46] Speaker A: I do think id's like, no bonk. And he's so used to, like, fighting stronger opponents recently that he just goes, oh, shit. Oh, God. [00:50:57] Speaker B: The soldier behind him, like, this guy falls and you just see another soldier who looks exactly the same because they're wearing masks. And he just looks at his soldier like comrade and just looks back up at you and is like, just shakes his head. [00:51:16] Speaker A: I didn't think he would get down by that. [00:51:19] Speaker G: Melon's just like, so did you want me to run or did you? [00:51:24] Speaker A: Yeah, go, follow. I'm right behind you. [00:51:27] Speaker B: Okay. [00:51:28] Speaker E: Melon's just gonna run in the direction all Auden. So that was. 510 15 2025, I guess, sees Myla and starts heading toward her. [00:51:40] Speaker B: Okay. [00:51:41] Speaker E: She got no fucking clue where Auden's gone at this point. [00:51:45] Speaker B: Alright, that's 30. Do you want to know? Dash is an action. [00:51:48] Speaker G: Oh, I can do that. [00:51:50] Speaker B: That's right. Sorry. It is an option. [00:51:55] Speaker E: I've had a day when it comes to brain stuff. 510 15 hi, Myla. 28, 25 30 gets me there. [00:52:03] Speaker B: You'd see this alley here that doesn't have anything. This you'd see a little bit of. And you'd see all of this as she goes by. Just. [00:52:11] Speaker G: Mila, have you seen Audin? [00:52:13] Speaker D: I heard her flip flops going that way. She points. [00:52:18] Speaker B: Flip flops. Dude, I'm gonna make you roll for frostbite in the winter. [00:52:24] Speaker C: I'll be doing it with advantage or something. Cause I'm resistant to cold damage. [00:52:31] Speaker G: It might have accidentally killed somebody. Also side note, I didn't. It didn't kill somebody. [00:52:38] Speaker D: Oh, okay, that's good. Wait, who? [00:52:44] Speaker E: One of them, like, turns around and points backwards. [00:52:49] Speaker D: I'll say that. Like, she turns around and she sees, like, a little bit of, like, the soldier being like, punched up into the air and then falling. And she's like, oh, they're guards. We can kill those. It's fine. She keeps running. [00:53:03] Speaker B: What? [00:53:04] Speaker G: Something tells me that's a bad idea. It might be kind of bad if we actually kill them. [00:53:09] Speaker D: But hey, Gab, she keeps running. Bite might be. And that's on fact. [00:53:16] Speaker E: Might be crazy frowned upon. It's Nadia's turn. [00:53:22] Speaker B: Yeah. Okay, let's see. Nadia looks at Auden and says, oh, whoa. [00:53:32] Speaker C: Honestly fair, big, sharp, pointy smile and crazy eyes. [00:53:39] Speaker B: She's backed into a corner like, okay, that's a lot. Well, I did steal something, so I'm trying to get away. [00:53:48] Speaker C: What did you steal? We just saw you run past and it seemed like Milo and it recognized you a little bit. [00:53:55] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. It doesn't it doesn't. It doesn't matter what I stole. I'm just gonna go. I'm just gonna go. She tries to, like. She's gonna try to scoot you over here. You could take an opportunity attack, if you'd like. [00:54:09] Speaker C: Okay. Could I try and do an opportunity attack where I swing my hammer down to try and, like, knock her over? Would that be allowed? You can say, no. [00:54:18] Speaker B: You're trying to make her prone. [00:54:20] Speaker C: Yeah, could you. Opportunity attack shove. Is that a thing you can do? [00:54:26] Speaker B: You can make a melee attack as an opportunity attack, so you can shove a creature to knock it prone or push it away from you. [00:54:34] Speaker C: Okay, I'll try and push her then, and it's a reaction, so I will keep my rage up because this counts as an attack. Okay, great. So I rolled a 2025. [00:54:49] Speaker B: Yes. She got a nine. So, yeah, you can shove her. She is knocked prone. [00:54:55] Speaker C: Sorry, I just. I feel like if my friends know, you probably want to talk to them, right? [00:55:01] Speaker B: No, not really. Not particularly. She's knocked pro, and she's gonna use half of her movement to stand back up, and then she just goes. She goes around this corner, and then she's going to. Action dash. All right, that's her turn. Milo, what do you want to do? [00:55:23] Speaker D: Milo is not changing up her plan. She's gonna go. 510 15 2025 30 looks down either way. Doesn't see anyone, I'm assuming, as she's continuing to run south and then is going to bonus action expeditions. Retreat. Go. 510 15 2025 30 runs down, I think sees Auden for, like, a very brief second out of the corner of her eye and is like, what's going on? [00:55:57] Speaker C: Audit will just point the direction that she went. [00:55:59] Speaker D: Oh, okay. [00:56:01] Speaker C: She went that way. She stole something. [00:56:04] Speaker D: Oh, okay. Then it's gonna go. 510 is this. This is building? Yeah. Sorry. It's hard to tell on this building. [00:56:15] Speaker B: Yes. [00:56:17] Speaker D: 15 2025. With her action. And he's gonna say, hi. What'd you steal? I don't really care what you stole, as long as it doesn't matter to me. [00:56:31] Speaker B: It probably doesn't matter to you. Oh. [00:56:34] Speaker D: So then why don't you tell me, then? We're friends, right? We stole an airship together. We go way back. [00:56:39] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:56:40] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:56:40] Speaker B: Friends. No, I'm good. [00:56:44] Speaker D: Aw. Okay. That's too bad. Auden, we're over here, and Maya's gonna call out towards Auden. [00:56:51] Speaker B: All right, anything else? [00:56:53] Speaker D: That is going to be my turn. [00:56:55] Speaker B: Awesome. Myla ended up right in melee with Nadia, kind of cutting her off from one side of the alley. It. It's your turn. [00:57:05] Speaker A: Id is going to fulfill his promise and follow after Melwyn. First moving 510 15 2025. 30. And then dashing. 510 15 2025. He ends up about halfway down the map right behind Melwyn, leaving the guards in the dust in the snow. [00:57:28] Speaker B: Awesome. [00:57:28] Speaker A: Which of or both? [00:57:30] Speaker C: Dusty snow. [00:57:31] Speaker A: In the dusty snow. [00:57:33] Speaker C: It's steampunk. It's probably pretty nasty. [00:57:36] Speaker B: Yeah, nasty. It is the soldier's turn. One of them is on call. One of them is going to kind of scoot to the side and try to help their unconscious friend and then points for the remaining three soldiers to try to continue on the way. Amazing. So these three soldiers took their action to dash. They are about halfway down the map, but they. Only one of them can kind of see id just slightly. The other two are kind of are behind a building, and they cant see much. Auden, that's your turn. [00:58:08] Speaker C: Okay. Hearing that Myla has, like, made contact, she's not gonna go the direct route. She's gonna try and go around from the other side, knowing that there's that other alleyway that Nadia might sneak out of. Well, I guess it doesn't matter, huh? Well, she doesn't know that I can see everything, but she cannot. So she's gonna go. 510 15 202-53-0354 um, she's just gonna come up on the other side of Nadia, and she's going to use her action to attack. She's going to use the grappler feet that she has that she's used a whole one other time. Um. Yippee. Okay, 25. As she just kind of, like, grabs. [00:58:50] Speaker D: Her, I'm gonna flash of genius for a 30. [00:58:53] Speaker C: Oh, wow. Okay. [00:58:54] Speaker B: Um, a 30 to hit or a 30 to grapple? [00:58:58] Speaker C: To grapple. To try to grapple, grab her. [00:59:01] Speaker B: There's. I did roll in at 20, which is super funny, but it's only a 25, so. [00:59:07] Speaker C: Okay. [00:59:08] Speaker B: You still win. [00:59:09] Speaker C: Yay. And then I. It says you can use your action to try and pin a creature grappled by you. I'm gonna use my hasted to grab, and then. Okay. Yeah. So I am gonna try and pin her, which is another grapple. Check. If I succeed, we're both restrained until the grapple ends. So this one is a 14 plus eight for a 22. [00:59:28] Speaker B: I got a seven. [00:59:29] Speaker C: Okay. [00:59:30] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:59:30] Speaker C: I think Auden just kind of, like, Jason Momoa comes up behind her and just kind of, like. I don't want to say, like, fully tackles, but I think, like, kind of grabs her in a pretty gnarly way as she kind of just, like, wraps her arms around her in such a way that she can't, like, you know, Nadia's arms are sort of, like, scarecrow, like, stuck away from each other, so she can't, like, do anything. She's restrained. I'm also restrained, but that's okay. I'm in control of the situation. She's gonna say it's like, we don't like. Milo was saying, I think we don't care that you stole, but, like, I don't know, like, don't you want to say hi? [01:00:09] Speaker D: Not you. [01:00:10] Speaker B: Not if you're. What? What do you. Stop. [01:00:13] Speaker D: It's just a really big hug. Don't worry about it. It happens. [01:00:16] Speaker B: Shut up. [01:00:17] Speaker D: Shut up. [01:00:19] Speaker B: Knock it off. Shut up. [01:00:21] Speaker C: No, that's ever audience turn. [01:00:24] Speaker B: Let me go. And she's, like, trying to, like, elbow you in the side and can't really move. [01:00:28] Speaker D: Myla's otter peeks up over her shoulder and points the gun at Nadia. [01:00:32] Speaker B: You guys are so weird. [01:00:36] Speaker D: Oh, we get that a lot. [01:00:37] Speaker B: Okey doke. I almost just closed owl bear on accident. Melwin to your turn. [01:00:44] Speaker E: Melan is not a fan of running, something we very much share in common. 510 15 2025 35. 1015 2025 30 to dash. It still doesn't get her there. She's just following the sound of voices at this point. [01:01:02] Speaker B: Yeah. Understandable. You are one more square forward. That's. That's 60. [01:01:07] Speaker E: Ah, I can't count. Sorry. [01:01:10] Speaker B: No, it's okay. You're. You're super good on in. [01:01:12] Speaker G: Myla. Did you find her? [01:01:14] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:01:15] Speaker B: Can we stop running? [01:01:17] Speaker C: You can walk the rest of the way if you want. [01:01:20] Speaker E: Yay. [01:01:21] Speaker C: She's not going anywhere. [01:01:23] Speaker B: It's Nadia's turn. I guess she's gonna. She's gonna try to break the grapple. [01:01:27] Speaker C: You will try and maybe succeed. Eight plus seven is a 15. 1515. [01:01:36] Speaker B: Okay. She got a 24. So she realizes that you've grabbed, like, around her waist and, like, kind of around her arms so she can't move, and ends up slipping out underneath, kind of crouching and coming back up. And she turns around and says, I don't like hugs. Whatever. Does like air quotes. I'm going to go. She is gonna try to move through Auden space, which is gonna be difficult for her. So that's ten. Milo would get an opportunity. Attack. [01:02:13] Speaker D: I want to shoot her goddamn. [01:02:16] Speaker E: Can you non lethally? [01:02:17] Speaker D: Not with my eldritch cannon. With my gun. [01:02:20] Speaker B: I do not. I think only melee can be non lethal. [01:02:25] Speaker D: I don't have that much to hit with my gun. [01:02:27] Speaker C: So unless it says only bludgeoning weapons can do non lethal. [01:02:30] Speaker B: Oh, cool. [01:02:32] Speaker D: That's a 19 to hit. [01:02:35] Speaker B: A 19 hits. [01:02:36] Speaker D: Okay, I'm gonna shoot her with. Oh, twelve points of damage. [01:02:43] Speaker B: Okay. [01:02:45] Speaker A: Killed a soldier. [01:02:48] Speaker D: Killed a soldier. I don't think it kills Nadia, but, yeah, she tries to run away, and I think. I don't think it's like, a mean, like, I'm gonna shoot you, like. Like a part that'll hurt. But I think that, like, Milo just, like, takes out her gun and just, like, shoots her in her foot. [01:03:03] Speaker E: Nah. Arrow to the knee. [01:03:06] Speaker D: And it's like, we really were trying to be nice because, like, we want you to, like, be a friend with us, but also we really need to talk to you and catch up, so say, oh, good. [01:03:17] Speaker B: She's, like, limp walking her way through. So she's moving through Auden's space, which is ten. [01:03:23] Speaker C: Could I. [01:03:24] Speaker B: 15. [01:03:25] Speaker C: Oppie attack. [01:03:26] Speaker B: She's not out of melee yet. [01:03:28] Speaker C: Oh, I was scrolled away. [01:03:29] Speaker B: 20 puts her still in melee, but 25 takes. Yeah, 25 takes her. [01:03:35] Speaker C: I'm just gonna try and grab her again. 26. [01:03:39] Speaker B: Oh, I got a roll. Yeah, she gets grappled again. She's like, let me go. That's gonna be our turn. My leads. It's your turn. [01:03:55] Speaker D: Wowie wee wow, guys. [01:04:00] Speaker C: Also, I was wrong about non lethal. Bludgeoning was a house rule. Any melee attack can be non lethal. [01:04:05] Speaker E: That's what I thought. [01:04:07] Speaker D: Mine's arranged. [01:04:09] Speaker B: I'm gonna say that ranged cannot be. That's. [01:04:12] Speaker E: That's what I was trying to figure out was if it was ranged. Cuz I know you can't do not non lethal with magic. [01:04:17] Speaker B: True. [01:04:19] Speaker D: Myla is going to go be like, excuse me, Auden. And then this is just difficult to rain. So 20, 25, 30. Right, that makes sense. [01:04:28] Speaker B: Moving through Nadia's face. Yes. [01:04:31] Speaker D: So Nadia leaves. Myla tries to whip around Auden. Auden just sort of pins her. And Myla just doo doo doo. Excuse me. Pushes her way through to the other side, turns to face Nadia, and is going to say, I don't think you hurt us. So we would like to talk to you really casual, and we can hold you here until the guards come and they can sort of, you know, do their thing and arrest you and like, all of that fun stuff. Or you can come with us and I won't shoot you again, which will be great for you. Doesn't matter to me. And also my friends, who are clearly strong than you, as you can see by exhibit one, and also remember it. Yeah, yeah, he's coming too. He's also really, really, like, extra buff now. Like you knew him when he was buffet. He's, like, extra buff now. So, long story short, I think you should come with us, or we'll turn you into the guards and you'll be arrested for doing all of your illegal shit. How does that sound? Could I try my very best to make a charisma check for my free check of just like. [01:05:39] Speaker B: Yeah, please. [01:05:42] Speaker D: Please. It's a straight roll either way. I know. I think. I think just for shits and giggles, Mila's trying to be persuasive. I think that it. She has a little, like, zany look in her eye as she does it, which might also come off a little intimidation y. They're both plus zero to me, so. [01:06:01] Speaker F: It doesn't matter which one. [01:06:03] Speaker E: So it's just flavor. [01:06:05] Speaker D: Yeah, just flavor. [01:06:07] Speaker C: Is there anything I could do for the help action, or is that against the rules? Since we're in initiative? [01:06:12] Speaker B: You. Yeah, you took your action already. [01:06:15] Speaker D: Could I cast enhance ability on myself as an action to get advantage on charisma checks. [01:06:23] Speaker B: It's your turn. You can do that? [01:06:25] Speaker D: Cool, I'll do that. I just rolled once. Okay, so I'll keep that roll. [01:06:30] Speaker B: Um, just roll again. [01:06:32] Speaker D: Yeah, and I'll roll again. Significantly better. Um, that's gonna be, um. A as my little is saying this to Nadia, as the words come out of her. Her mouth, you see that her tongue is now a little purple and the veins on her throat, like, where her vocal cords are, are also a little twinged and, like, blue purplish magic. As she enhances ability for advantage on charisma checks, she rolled a 13 on a persuasimidation, which she will, because I have my reaction back. Flash of genius for a plus five. So that will be 18. [01:07:08] Speaker B: Okay, fine. Just don't turn me in. God. [01:07:12] Speaker D: Okay, cool. So you're just gonna come with us? Easy peasy Oddin. You. You good? You got this? [01:07:19] Speaker C: Mm hmm. [01:07:20] Speaker D: Cool. Milo doesn't want to leave it in the dust, really. So she's gonna use her bonus action. Oh, wait, no. She doesn't have expeditions retreat anymore because that was concentration, and now she's concentrating on enhanceability. So she will. Bonus action is going to command her little otter to move 15ft and go 510 15. And just sort of start doing the hand waves and the. Like that. The airport things of like, we're going this way so that when it eventually comes around this way, he will see which. Which way we're going great. [01:08:05] Speaker B: It is your turn. [01:08:07] Speaker A: It will once again movement and dash. 510 15 20 2530-354-0455 see the sea otter and 60 degree and just give it a little pat on the head and say, thanks, bud. [01:08:27] Speaker B: Aw. [01:08:29] Speaker D: The sea otter, gun in hand. [01:08:32] Speaker E: Does he have a name? [01:08:35] Speaker D: Not yet, because I technically have three different ones. So I need to come up with three names for them. But that will be here soon. Maybe I'll have you guys name them for me. [01:08:45] Speaker E: I was gonna say we could name them. [01:08:47] Speaker B: All right. These soldiers are gonna run, but they are not gonna catch up to you. I just want the intimidation factor of guards coming up to you. So these guards, they're still running. You can hear them running on the pavement, the stone on the ground. They are just kind of right around the corner from you, behind, just where you came from. They can see Melwin, so that might be a problem. We'll see. Auden, it is your turn. [01:09:16] Speaker C: I guess Auden is gonna start kind of pulling Nadia toward where our little base is. What direction would that be? Where we've been holing up in Ingen. [01:09:28] Speaker D: Alright. [01:09:29] Speaker C: Yeah, she'll, uh, she'll just kind of. [01:09:33] Speaker B: Cool. When you. When you drag somebody, it halves your movement. But you still. I still hate because you're hasted. So it's still 40, which is far. [01:09:44] Speaker C: I'm really excited to figure out how you guys, like, know each other because, like, I'm sort of new. I've never met you before, but I mean, if, like, you know them, then, like, I'm a kind of. It'll be cool to see where, like, the. The little link up is. And I think that, like, as she. [01:09:57] Speaker B: Talks so much as she is just. [01:10:00] Speaker C: Kind of talking and gabbing and pulling her along, she's. Her rage probably will not renew. And so I think she's, like, back into very, like, bouncy, bubbly, easily distractible, chatty Kathy Auden as she just kind of guides her down, like, an alleyway. [01:10:16] Speaker B: All right, and the rest of you are gonna follow and catch up with Auden at some point. So we will end the initiative there. I know it was a little bit of weird one, but it was fun. I liked it. Good. Chase. You guys did catch Nadia, so we will start there next time. Arc four episode one whoo. [01:10:36] Speaker A: We're back. [01:10:38] Speaker D: Sorry. Can I, for posterity, ask for it to pick up sea otter Isaac on the way, please. [01:10:43] Speaker A: I'll scoop him. I'll use my shield as a little, like, scoop, and I'll just scoop him up and hope I'm on my arm. [01:10:48] Speaker D: I just realized the people have no idea why I called him sea Otter Isaac. It's a token of Oscar Isaac on the map because that's all I had. I'm so sorry. That was supposed to be a funny, but I have to explain. [01:10:59] Speaker B: So it's now it's sea Otter Isaac. Yeah. [01:11:01] Speaker D: No, it's not. That's just the token for now. [01:11:03] Speaker B: It is now. No, no, you put it on the map, on owlbear. It's permanent. [01:11:12] Speaker C: Hello everybody.
